Our wait at 10:30 on a Saturday was a mere 25 minutes, and the service was very quick. The atmosphere was energizing and fun, which was perfect post-flight. I loved my breakfast, since the Hollandaise was perfect. However, one poached egg was not on the toast construction, which meant that it all leaked into the mixed-greens. They automatically charge 20% gratuity to the bill regardless of how many ppl are present. Gluten-free blueberry lavender pancake. I had to say that right off the bat because it's INSANE and amazing. I actually stumbled across Jelly while waiting to tour the Molly Brown house a block up, because apparently I can't tell time yet. I sat at the bar and got a delicious iced coffee while I looked at the menu. The first thing I noticed was that everyone working here is so friendly! I actually love eating alone and the staff were so cheery and made great conversation:) the restaurant is very cute and has cereal boxes mounted around the room. I got the aforementioned pancake and it was everything I thought it would be. I haven't had a pancake in years because I'm normally not a huge fan, but the berry compote on top was so good and the pancake itself was fluffy and not grainy at all like some g-free items can be. DECEPTIVE PRICING!! There is an automatic 20% gratuity applied to all orders. This is was not clearly stated anywhere the day we dined here. I didn't realize I paid this extra surcharge (and tipped on top of it) until the next day. If the business decides that their workers deserve a 20% tip from all orders, fine. But DO NOT deceptively allow your customers to tip on top of that. Pay your workers a fair wage and their living costs should not have to come from a mandatory fee forced on your patrons. I will never dine here again and I do not support this practice. There are restaurants all around Denver that apply a 4-5% surcharge to the bill, but I have never seen swindling to this degree. Maybe it would have been a better experience to dine in here (back in the days before quarantine), but not only did they get my order wrong, the quality of their food was extremely meh in my opinion. Although I did enjoy their blueberry lavender pancake. If I ever try this place again it would be for that pancake. What a cute little spot! There were plenty of street parking when we came down for lunch on a Thursday. The house wasn't full but it still took us a good 5 minutes to be noticed and seated, makes me wonder what busy times look like. I've heard so much about the Hot Molly Brown, the sandwich's got an interesting name and concept, but in reality, they should've executed with good, sturdy bread. Because unless you're having bread pudding, who likes sogged up plain old sandwich bread? On the other hand, the gravy was very tasty, even with me pushing aside all the green chile. Another item that sounded way better than it actually is was the Pork Belly Hash. I thought we'd be biting into tender, juicy pieces of pork belly with pockets of fat. Not the case, it was some over cooked, diced up pork. I did enjoy the parsnip cubes and the rye toasts. Should've gotten fried eggs instead of scrambled, 'cause the eggs looked like they were from a carton, yuck. The best thing was the coffee. The house decaf was served in a big mug that required both of my hands to hold. It was a good long while before they brought out my coffee but when it happened I understood why: it was freshly brewed (or poured), still had a visible layer of foam or coffee crema on top, even though it's not espresso. I was so excited! Later found out they use Pablo's coffee. I thought it had an interesting floral note to it. When I asked for a refill at the end of the meal, they brought out another big mug of freshly made joe, that about made my day! read more

The place started to get packed when we were leaving at 9am but still some empty tables were available. I went with the veggie Benedict/ side of rustic potatoes while my wife went with the avocado toast. I got a taste from my wife and thought her order was ok but mine was tastier. Felt that the avocado toast was too cold and maybe if she added some eggs it would be better. As for the veggie Benedict it was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Finally we concluded with the the lavender blueberry pancakes. We went with the single portion and I have to say that was more than enough given their portions are generous. I liked the texture of the pancake itself for the lavender preserve the taste was ok but was hoping for a stronger taste. Nonetheless nice thing to try out. I ordered gluten free donuts, and when they were brought out, I luckily ask to confirm that the donuts were in fact gluten free, and they immediately took the donuts away because they were not. Nice place. I like that with the Yelp app you can add your name to the waitlist to eliminate a little wait time. Although you have to wait (which is everywhere in Denver, especially with brunch) there are a few second hand book stores and record shops around the corner. I have to say, I really enjoy this place- even though I don't really want to. Yes, it's a trendy little breakfast place spot in Cap Hill. Yes, it's often EXTREMELY crowded. Yes, it's totally geared towards hipsters. But with that being said... the food is very, very good. The donut pieces are great. The corned beef is great. The sandwiches are great. I wasn't totally sold on the sliders, but they weren't bad... just not as phenomenal as I'd like. The service is always prompt. If they're full, they're full- and chances are they'll be full when you get there, but they're always very polite and accomodating. I've never had a bad experience here, and I'd probably still come quite a bit even if it wasn't only a block from my crib. Plus, I dig the little mason-jars that they serve the water in.
