I highly recommend JACK from JDS Flooring! He performs every job as if it was his own home and perfects everything down to the details! Unfortunately, we had a leak in our downstairs bathroom that warped our hardwood floors. Our original flooring was discontinued, therefore, we had to chose a different style, brand and color. My mother and I went to several different flooring companies to obtain quotes for our entire 2700 sq ft. home. The cost of the flooring material was reasonable but the cost for installation was ridiculously high!!! Installation cost 2 to 3 times as much as the flooring itself. After we received the quotes from the flooring companies, my mother and I Yelp and found a couple of flooring companies. The first couple flooring companies I called was able to schedule a estimate right away. There were a few I had left voicemails including JDS flooring. Jack returned my call the same day and apologized stating he was currently working on a home and would not be able to come out until later this week! He asked to send pictures and he could provide a rough quote based on that. Later that week Jack arrived at our home to provide a more accurate quote! He informed us that he was finishing up a job at the moment and would not be able to start ASAP. He also estimated one month to complete our house since it was a one man job. After we reviewed all the quotes from the flooring company we decided to go with JDS Flooring. Although he estimated a longer completion time he had the best/reasonable estimate and he seemed very genuine! He performed quality work and was worth the wait!!! Jack did a phenomenal job!!! Just when you think my rental property woes had come to an end, another problem turned up to give me more financial heartburn. After my tenants moved out of my 2nd unit, I discovered a crack in my wood flooring. Unfortunately my trusty handyman doesn't do flooring installations or repairs, so I was on my own. After emailing 5 different companies for quotes, I found an angel in Jack from JDS Flooring! Unlike the others who would just throw out numbers and short one-word responses because they knew I was desperatew to fix my floor, Jack actually took the time to explain how he was going to repair my floors and gave me a really reasonable quote just based off of just a pic I sent (all while he was working at multiple job sites!). Although he was swamped with other properties and initially told me he couldn't get to my house until the end of February, he and his uber sweet kickass assistant Pami contacted me last night to tell me that she will try to fit me in to get the job done earlier by this week since they knew I had a deadline to meet (tenant's deposit needed to be returned 14 days after they move out). He did an amazing job with installing tile in our apartment. Our floor was very hard to work with because we live in an older condo (ie - very unlevel with rounded columns and a very odd shape rooms) and the tile we choose wasn't the standard 12 x 12 (it was a 6 x 24) so just between those two factors, this was no easy job...but Jack did a great job! Jack of JDS Flooring did an outstanding job at installing porcelain tile in my kitchen and Karndean Looselay vinyl planks in my condo. He did a flawless job with attention to detail. A major problem arose in dealing with the flimsy, thin Omni Choice underlayment that bubbled up. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OMNI CHOICE UNDERLAYMENT; IT'S VERY THIN AND DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH PADDED COMFORT OVER THE CEMENT FLOOR. Jack worked through the bubbles in the Omni Choice underlayment, but the underlayment is inferior and took additional time to install. I have hired other contractors to install luxury vinyl planks in other condos. Jack is by far the best of the lot. Only he added cement to cover the pits and holes and to level the floor, then grinded it down until the covered lanai floor was level. His prep work was very meticulous as was his finish work: thin grout lines, mitered corners on the baseboards, top and bottom of the baseboards caulked, floor planks staggered and fitted so tightly you can't feel or see the seams. Jack taped up plastic sheets to minimize the dust in the room when he had to saw. He also laid down large panels of cardboard to move my heavy furniture on sliders. I wish all contractors worked with the same level of professional consciousness and work ethic as Jack. If he takes your assignment, consider yourself very fortunate. Thank you, Jack. Jack did the flooring to our apartment which is on the 32nd floor. Due to the original construction of the apartment building, the job required a lot of leveling on the concrete slabs but Jack did it all no problem and at great price. We also have a lot of odd corners and required a lot of custom cutting for both the hardwood & paneling but Jack made every cut extremely precise. I have been using Yelp for a looong time reading reviews, but I finally thought that this is the perfect opportunity to write one. I am not a handiman but wanted to do some simple DYI projects involving tile after being inspired by some YouTube videos. There should always be anticipation that DIY videos may not always address your specific situation and thus you need to improvise or add to your original scope of work. Basically we were dealing with small tile that needs small cuts. We don't have all of the tools and tried buying tools and experimenting. I was about to give up when I decided to give this company a call to see if they'd cut my tile (20 1 inch cuts approximately). At first Jack answered and said he was busy till August (4 months out). But then we just started talking and he offered to do it but would call me the next day (mother's day). I really did not expect a callback, didn't get one and thought that he was just too busy like everyone else. Next day he calls, offers to meet me, and pick up the tile. Met him, cool guy. He offered for me to borrow his saw and was teaching me everything about tile cutting 101. Tell me when was the last time a contractor actually teaches you how to do something. I was running out of tile from all of my experiments before so I asked him to cut it. He took it and visited me 2 days later with tile cut according to my specs! He refused money I guess because it was so simple but of course I needed to pay him something. I really think I just lucked out. I am not saying that when you call he'll do the same, but I felt that I could trust him more than other contractors that I met. I would definitely call him for my next tile install.
