Update: Unfortunately I am changing my review to two stars. Our vinyl floors were complete in March 2023 and initially everything was great like I stated in my original review. We noticed in August 2025 that multiple planks were lifting up when walked on. We reached out to American Floor and Home and they swiftly sent someone to inspect. He was very thorough in his inspection and concerned at the condition of the floors/baseboards considering how recent they were installed. He put a claim in with the manufacturer Cali Bamboo. Since then, we've sent the pictures they requested, had their third party inspection complete, and still nothing has been remedied. We periodically get emails saying American Floor and Home is coordinating with the manufacturer and will receive updates as they come. It's been 8 months since this process has started and nothing has changed except the worsening condition of our floors and baseboards. Besides lifting, multiple planks now have cracks and chips in them. The baseboards continue to split between joints and now even from the wall itself. I've sent footage of the worsening damage and still nothing has been done to remedy anything. We spent a lot of money on this purchase and it's very disheartening that this is the response we are getting. Whether it's a manufacturer's issue or an installation issue, I'd expect some type of plan of action to fix this problem that is only getting worse the longer they delay it. This is an update to an earlier review (around 6-7 years ago) -- originally 5/5 stars , now 1/5 stars. Six months after installing the tile on my floors, a leak occurred in my kitchen and American Carpet One (now American Floor & Home), stripped and replaced the water-damaged tile, charging me close to $2000, I recall. Be clear... American Carpet was not responsible for the damage, though I would have expected them to provide a discount for the repair job (considering the original tile was installed only six months earlier). Since then, and unrelated to the kitchen incident, very visible gaps have appeared in the tiles of three of my bathrooms. Around two years ago, I hired a handy man to fix the gaps in two baths, and no problems have occurred since. A year ago, gaps appeared in a third bathroom. A month ago, I visited American Floor & Home and complained of the problem. A representative told me that he would request company approval to address that issue at no cost to me. Several weeks have since passed -- no word back from American Floor & Home, even after my emailing an inquiry. I believe the original installation and/or material was poor (the original tile has been discontinued). I also complained that pithy quarter-round molding was installed with all of the tile. That molding absorbs moisture readily. I (and my handyman) removed all of the molding, which had been crumbling apart) and replaced it with molding that is much less susceptible to water damage. Question: Who in their right mind would install molding that is prone to moisture damage immediately around bathtubs and showers? read more

I went to American Carpet One since they were the original people who installed my building's carpet and flooring. They have various levels of carpets and vinyl flooring as well as cabinets and everything. Their design center was under construction when we visited so hopefully it'll all be done by the time you go. Joyce was really helpful and knowledgeable with all the sales going on and any upcoming ones that we might be able to take advantage of. She was really patient showing us designs and types while trying to narrow down what we wanted and envisioned for our new flooring. They have so many options and qualities that it could be over whelming. Joyce was able to quickly crunch some rough estimates about how things would cost based on what we were looking at. While we didn't buy it through them, Joyce was really nice the whole time and gave us a variety of options to use as well as follow up with us through the week. She made herself available if my family had any questions or concerns with what we were going to pick. read more

Today was teacher appreciation day at American Floor & Home. Teachers got the opportunity to pick a free carpet for their classroom. This was their second event like this with the first being right before COVID. We remembered how long the line was so we arrived early. Sweet we were number 22 in-line. All of the employees here are so sweet and kind. They passed out water and offered their restroom to anyone who needed to go. They let us in 20 at a time and greeted us with cheers.... Once you were in the carpet area. You had 3 minutes to find your dream carpet. There were lots of different sizes and colors to select from and strong men ready to help you with your selection and carry your beautiful new carpet to your vehicle. We received a bag of goodies at registration and fresh bread at checkout. I love that American Floor & Home started this special event for teacher again. We should all remember to always honor those who teach and give as much support as we can. This is not an easy occupation and not everyone can be a teacher. It takes a special soul... The receptionist was nice, the salesman was haughty and never showed me the vinyl that would fit my budget (I asked to see the sale vinyl), he kept showing me the tiles that were way over my budget and then he started quoting me how much the labor charge would be and why it was so expensive, their people are professionals. From the start, Jenny was so welcoming, friendly, and very patient with all of our questions. She would listen to what we wanted and what we envisioned for our home and showed us all the options. Carpet was nice, a bit pricey but it's what we picked out. The low rating is based on the customer service or lack of by the sales manager Michael. After clearing the entire house they did not bring enough carpet for one of the closets (not very large}. Michael told me they would special order and return weeks later. He then wanted to charge me for their mistake and our inconvenience. After I sent him pictures of one of our baseboards that was well beaten with a hammer, I told him to call the charges even. He came back later and said okay. After that, I sent a few emails trying to get it done. After a several weeks he finally sent installers over in the morning without any notification and during a 4 day period I informed him we would not be available. We inconveniently got the closet cleared and the carpet was installed. Customer service has definitely declined since we got our original carpet installed from them 25+ years ago. read more

We moved into our new condominium about 4 years ago but at the time, we hadn't pulled the trigger on changing the existing flooring since our AOAO gave us only a one-hour window to move our existing furniture and belongings in. Like the other residents, we were also told that we'd have to get authorization from the AOAO if we wanted to lay down flooring or make changes within our units BUT the AOAO board hadn't been established yet. So, we moved in while within a couple of weeks or months we'd start hearing construction noises from units above, below, and even next to us. We were upset because we had just spent over $5000 on movers and, to be honest, we felt it was an "ass-backward" move-in policy but understood that noise transmission is of concern when living in a high-rise. Over the years, we looked into and contacted American Carpet One Floor and Home which is locally-owned and operated to see what flooring products would be best for us in terms of wear, care, and value. We had heard about and seen many residential projects that were expertly done by this company so it was a no-brainer to go ahead to remove our wall-to-wall carpeting especially since my allergies seem to be worsening as I age. During this pandemic, we have been very hesitant about allowing people into our home out of concern about the highly contagious new virus variation. We kept in touch with our sales project manager, Roy, who assured us about their COVID-19 safety protocols. We were provided a schedule for removal, floor preparation, and installation which was done in 3 phases because we have existing furnishings. My husband and I worked together like squirrels moving their nuts in Winter clearing rooms for the installers to do their thing. My husband and I joked with each other about the moving and shuffling like it was a workout in a sliding puzzle as every other night during the past couple of weeks, we felt like we could've been candidates for Salonpas patches. Haha. Even the installers mentioned their surprise that just the two of us had cleared so much in a short time. We did ask David and Burt to assist us in moving the larger furniture pieces back into the completed rooms. We are still unpacking the smaller items, reorganizing our bookcases and reconnecting our audio equipment. David, Burt, and the team arrived promptly at 8 am wearing face masks and would wipe down they touched all surfaces including doorknobs and bathroom fixtures with an antiviral/antibacterial solution during and after their workday. Also, they brought an air purifier called "Airdog" which captures and removes 99.97% of pollen and virus particles in the air. We kept the air purifier running all day and night and noticed that I didn't wake sneezing or coughing like I usually do in the mornings. So impressed with the Airdog, we just purchased 2 units to cover our living spaces. In the end, we are impressed with the overall interaction from sales to through installation with this company. With just the simple change from wall-to-wall carpeting to COREtec Pro plank flooring, we've beautified, made our home a healthier environment and increased the value of our home. read more

We are very happy with our new LVT. We can't say enough of American Floor and Home's staff from their sales team to their installation crew and their process and preparation before laying down the LVT. They did a moisture test on the concrete in order to properly prepare the floor. Next came leveling the floor which involved grinding the uneven concrete areas, applying the self leveling concrete and finally installing the LVT. We had the pleasure of working with Maureen "Mo" Silva. She was very knowledgable and helped us decide on the final flooring. The installation crew are top notch. The worst is when there is a stain and you ask for the Stain Master warranty to cover it and they say that I have to pay for it to be cleaned and pay for the labor if I choose to replace the carpet. American Home & Floor sure made it seem fool proof when they were selling me their carpet about 18 months ago. Your one stop remodeling. I need to do some remodeling. Nothing major just replace the flooring and move the stove to the center island and add a ventilation duct, and redo some lighting. You know the small things I can do all on a free weekend?!?!? Well one can always dream but in reality it's gonna take a few weeks and some cash (I know you read my NFCU review) and I needed help. Two people were up to the challenge. #1 Richard was kind enough to come to the house and create several drawings of what the house can look like. Moving a sidewall, extending the countertop, different color laminate or non laminate cabinets, different sink and lighting fixtures. This dude spent sometime with us and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Really this guy spent so much of his free time with us designing and answering questions, it's like he's family. And that showcase of his is beautiful. There are more cabinets colors to choose from then there are in a large box of Crayola crayons. #2 Sean is my floor guy. He came after normal working hours to fit my schedule. And I worked OT that day. He spent time explaining the whole process of ripping out the floor, moister checks, sealants. He showed us samples he brought with him and additional flooring samples when we went to American Carpet One. He took precise room measurement (twice to be sure) and has a program on his iPad that shows your room with any flooring. It's like a green wall for floors. Overall five stars. These guys and this store are helpful in making this an easy (yea right) and cheap (hopefully) and fun filled weekend project (one can always dream). We changed from carpet to flooring and they did a great job! Explained the process and did everything in a timely manner. There was a little confusion with communication since we had to coordinate with three different people on our end and several people on their end, but otherwise customer service was great. We were in the market for either laminate vinyl flooring or carpet and first on my list was America carpet one.They are now known as "American floor and home" (reason for the name change is because now they do counter tops..windows and so much more) The reason going to AFH being they were and are always gracious in letting NewHope use their parking and always want to support local businesses first. I know they have been around a long time and I am not surprised why. They are very serious about safety (COVID) and also really want to make sure their customers get as much undivided attention as possible. Appointments are strongly recommended! If you're replacing your carpet and you're in a time crunch, come here! Forget about Lowe's or Home Depot, come straight to American Carpet One! Why? Because their selections and in stock items are way better! Seriously! My husband and I recently renovated our whole unit and was sadden when we inquired at Home Depot and Lowe's because they had only selective in stock designs on hand. If we were to place an order there, it would have taken over a month! My husband and I came in and were helped right away. There were so many carpet to choose from and were surprised at how many were in stock. We were looking for a carpet that wasn't to fluffy or flurry, something similar to an office carpet. We so much to choose from and their service was subpar. He definitely knew what he was talking about and I was amazed at how many things I didn't know about carpet. Within 3 days from our purchase, they were able to cut the carpet to fit our layout, and allowed our contractor to pick it up straight from their warehouse. They even added a free air purifier, you know, with COVID and all - as a gift for our purchase through them. It' been about 3 months now and we're loving our carpet. We get compliments here and there about the style because it's easy to clean, looks sturdy and resistant to stain (even though it's an off-white cream color). Highly recommend here. read more
