My daughter order a new cabinet for her condo. She said that they very helpful in the store in selecting it. They set up a date and time to deliver the unit. I was in charge of being at the condo to except the merchandise . The unit was .plastic wrapped to make sure it did not get damaged. the delivery men text when they were in route and when they arrived . It was within the window they promised. This leather sofa was around $3000 and in less than 6 months the cushion is sagging bad. Spoke to General Manager Rick Lopez and he wasn't willing to help. He offered to fix it for $500 plus. The manufacturer also will not backup the product. Some other side tables I recently bought also started falling apart as the pressed wood is not holding up to even the slightest moisture. I miss living in the Bay Area because there are so many options for furniture and they are in stock! The cost is also less than Hawai'i due to shipping and higher rent for commercial spaces on the islands. When items are not in stock in Hawai'i, it can take several weeks before they arrive and sometimes people can't wait that long. With the limited furniture stores available in Hawai'i, we looked at most of them. We also looked a lot online during the lockdown but shipping was crazy high or they didn't ship to Hawai'i (you know what I'm talking about). When we finally got to INspiration Interiors - Honolulu, we were ready to just buy so we didn't have to look anymore. We walked the showroom floor to see all the options available and made some relatively quick decisions based on dimensions, color, style and most importantly what was in stock. The sales person followed us around the store and had a tape measure to help us figure out if the furniture was going to fit or not. For commission sales, service was disappointing. He also forgot us when we went back 4 days later to buy another item. After we decided, he put our order together and walked us over to the front to pay. Mink decided to save on delivery since she had free labor with me so guess I got lucky to pick up the heavy furniture *sad face* Their warehouse is in Kapolei and they hold furniture up to 4 weeks after your purchase. Staff at the Kapiolani location will tell you that you need to call the Kapolei warehouse at least two hours prior to picking up your order. This will give them enough time to get it ready for you when you arrive. Otherwise you'll have to sit tight till they can get it without that call. They said sometimes it can take them 20-30 minutes so make sure to call at least 2 hours prior to arriving. The GC had his workers pick up the furniture for us which was nice. Saved me a trip to Kapolei right? Unfortunately the end table was broken/damaged when we unboxed it. Also the sideboard was not assembled! The sales person said it would be but clearly it was not. I was quite annoyed since I had to waste time to assemble it. Side note, one of the screws were jacked up which made assembly a pain. We made do but we expected a lot better quality at their price point. If your furniture is broken/damaged, they don't come and exchange it for you if you picked up from the warehouse. You will need to bring back the damaged items to Kapolei and exchange it. When I was driving there, I called them to find out they close at 4pm and I called around 4:20pm. Luckily someone stayed to let me exchange since I was fighting traffic from town to get there. The warehouse deserves 4 stars! The exchange was quick and I made sure they unboxed there to make sure the item was perfectly fine before going back in town. Overall, the entire experience and quality of their furniture is mediocre so 2 stars. Are they worth it? That's debatable. read more

Ask for Jonathan! He knew exactly what I looking for. Very honest, courteous, patient, extremely knowledgeable and most importantly, not a commission driven salesperson. One day I went to INspiration just to look at some actual furniture I've seen online. While I was looking a guy comes by and asked if I needed help. Honestly speaking, I don't care for people who come up to you and tries to sell you something. But this guy was "different." He just walked away when I said that I was just looking granted that I had questions I wanted to ask. I thought his walking away gesture was courteous that made me thinking that he wanted to give me "space." So I thought, maybe I should ask him my questions. And I am so glad that I did. He showed me the furniture I was interested in, gave me his opinions, his business card and left the store that day. No pressure to buy AT ALL! Price is an important factor however, having a salesperson that you're completely comfortable with is the utmost importance for me when making big purchases. Seen 3 salesperson and none, even got up to show me around. They all pointed to the different parts of the store and upstairs where I should go look myself. Before becoming a kapuna beach bum I was a specialist in the preservation of cultural property. I can attest to the excellent quality. Everyone is very helpful. Our sales associate Dixie Peterson is knowledgeable and respectful of our budget. She always goes above and beyond starting with our first purchase. I'm sad to report that a little under four years later, our most recent purchase, a chocolate brown faux leather sofa, has started to show signs of unexplainable deterioration. Insert disclaimer here: Our home is air conditioned, the sofa is never hit by direct sunlight, our pets are outdoor, we have no kids and the sofa is extremely lightly used. Being covered in faux leather, the sofa's grain pattern is very smooth, so it was easy to spot the flawed area. On one of the back support cushions, it looked like something scratched it. Upon closer inspection, it was obvious that the material was peeling in several areas. A few weeks later, a bulge appeared on one of the seat cushions. Same issue, peeling. But, this spot seems to be growing by the day, so I will continue to monitor it and upload pics to Yelp. True, the sofa was on sale for a small percentage off, which I'm hoping was not the reason why, but it was still pricey and I expect top quality from these European furniture makers. To be fair, our older, genuine leather sofa is still going strong along with the tables, chairs and dressers which are very durable 10 years later. OVERALL: We live on Maui and have furnished our first two homes from here, but we'll NEVER purchase a faux leather sofa again. Unfortunately, the loss of a star is warranted. read more

I purchased Natuzzi couches in the past and was super delighted with the couch and the brand quality. Unfortunately like everything in life, there is a lot of wear and tear and thus I had to choose to get another one. I chose Inspiration because they were very kind the first time and with other purchases my family and friends made. I got a nice Natuzzi couch that felt divine and had it sent to my address. Unfortunately, not even two weeks in using this couch it squeaked and feels so uncomfortable. I understand the pandemic and such but they didn't even take away the old couches. They say they couldn't. Really? But you could bring me a new one into the house!!! Customer satisfaction is NOT their priority and I'm stuck with a very uncomfortable couch that cost a pretty penny. Make sure you go to a company that cares for your satisfaction, not just your wallet. I tried to dispute my case with the Manager of Inspiration but I guess I'm not worthy enough as a customer to even get an answer. I consider myself a very laid back customer. Unlike others, I actually like to walk around on my own and be able to take my time without someone hovering. A simple acknowledgment as I walk in...something like, "Hi! Welcome! My name is _______, let me know if you need any help" would make me completely happy. My family got nothing here and it was pretty disappointing to actually see employees waking in the opposite direction as they saw us come in. I needed to purchase a couple of counter height stools with backs and preferred leather. So I checked out inspiration because it is close by and I didn't see anything at another leading retail store. I entered the store and forgot to put my mask on because I walked there. And started looking around. No one offered to help or assist. I saw one other customer with a sales person so continued to look around. I finally wandered to an area where there were three sales people sitting around and I asked if anyone worked here. Well a gentleman stood up and asked me to put a mask on. Not starting with a greeting etc. I put my mask on and said that I didn't see any signs requiring them as a reminder and I had just walked there and apologized. He finally asked if he could help. He gave me information on two different stools so I left to think About it. I decided to go with it so called and left messages to order. No response. A mutual friend suggested to talk to Jonathon whom readily took the order and was pleasant and professional to work with. So I recommend him if you go there. But q I it's frankly three sales people sitting around gabbing to each other ignoring a walk in customer is unsat!! read more

I'm giving more stores because of his professionalism and generosity. If you shop at INspiration, definitely reach out your Rick. He'll take care of you. INspiration says that it is the best furniture store in Hawaii, but they are by far the worst! We have spent tens of thousands of dollars here and all of our furniture is of sub-par quality. So this is the update to my purchase! I ordered a dresser and had it delivered. I must say this is how delivery people SHOULD be! Omg! This was the only company I didn't have a headache with! If you saw my review for elite disc furniture then you know it was a nightmare! So they called to tell me they're on their way 10 mins out. When they came. They surveyed the place and the stairwell which no one else did. Then they later down two blankets for moving the dresser. They were both very good and communicated well! They even inspected the dresser and had me check it too! This is the kind of company that you want to go with! It was just a quick in and out delivery. For most of my work career, I've always worked in an office space that had ergonomically designed furniture. My workstation had an articulating keyboard, adjustable desk, anti-fatigue mats for long periods of standing and even a customized Herman Miller Aeron chair. Alas, since leaving the workforce, I've found my home workstation to be comfortable but not so ergonomic to my body. I had been looking for a standing desk to get myself off from being a "couch potato". Then, recently, the Today Show aired a segment titled "Sitting is killing you". They said that scientists have reported increased risks of diabetes, obesity, heart disease and cancer WITH each two-hour period of sitting. Well, knowing that these health risks increase from inactivity, I became determined to get a standing desk. Fortunately, I saw a sales ad for standing desks at Inspiration and made a bee-line to them to check them out. I like the modern and sleek lines of the furniture at this home and office furniture store. I walked in and met with Kerry P, on the first floor, who was expressive, knowledgeable and friendly. I asked him to show me their selection of standing desks and he led me upstairs to show me several different models, sizes, colors and finishes. I was able to decide quickly and within a few minutes, Kerry was writing up a sales contract while informing me about delivery and assembly costs and time. He advised that delivery would not be cost-effective as their minimum delivery charge is $50. Thank you, Kerry! A couple of days passed and I received a phone call to pick up my standing desk. Beware--Terrible Customer Service!! I purchased a condo from a realtor that had a sales office inside Inspiration Interiors for 3 years. She knew them well and furnished her condo with pieces from their store. She sold the condo to me 2 months ago, furnished. This was great because the pieces were perfectly chosen for the unit. Unfortunately, the electric reclining sofa is in need of repair, so I called Inspiration to schedule a serviceman. I'm not sure why, but Mildred immediately gave me the third degree about whether the sofa was actually from their store. It's not like I'm asking for a warranty or free repair. I'm simply trying to schedule a repair for my electric sofa, from the store that sells electric sofas. She asked for photos of the sofa by email, which I sent, and then immediately called me to say they won't send their repairman because I'm not the original owner. Feels a little like she's making up the rules as we go along... Ok, so after the disaster of dealing with Liseth from the warehouse, I called her manager Rick as she told me to. He said I had "really been through the wringer," yeah no kidding! He said since they don't carry that maker in store anymore he can't replace it but the technician can take a look and try to repair it. I agreed and Liseth was in contact with me through e-mail for pick up. My cushion has been picked up, fixed and dropped back off, with no charge all in less than a week! I am happy this has finally been taken care of. The cushion is fixed, and I can finally move on from this. I don't understand why Liseth never followed through, and why I had to constantly check in and follow up to the point of being so upset I couldn't help but yelling at her... Hopefully customer service will improve, but I hesitate to buy from Inspiration ever again since this was so frustrating. I'm raising my review from 1 to 3 stars since this should never have taken 5 weeks in the first place, but I'm happy with the outcome. So....you would think they would have most of the furniture in stock and ready to sell....nope! Everything you see are displays, if you're lucky they might have your item in the stores, but most of the time they have all the stock in kapolei warehouse, which then you need to either drive there or have it transfer ($25-$45) to town, Then you have the option to buy it unassembled or assembled... that will take time too. The transfers took me 2 weeks for it to come from kapolei to Ala Moana store. Then they took them another 3 days to get it off the truck...and the staff didn't call me to update on where my item was...plus they didn't have good customer service....so it took very long time to get it...if you want something from this place...you can find it cheaper online or play the waiting game for weeks....not worth it... read more

Slightly better review then their Kapolei store. We've been to this location about 6 times over the years, and most recently today. I felt like their selection was better than the Kapolei store. We were looking for a bed frame and mattress, and they had a couple bed frames that we liked here. Was close to buying a cheaper frame and a $2,200 mattress but had to walk away. Couldn't negotiate a cent off the regular price... even with the holiday weekend. Not even for the $150 delivery fee. Last year I wrote a review lamenting about the state of my lamp on arrival. Long story short, the parts of the lampshade was damaged and i had wrote a comment on yelp about that. The manager Rick got back to me and said he would be happy to replace it but at that time they didn't find any stock. Fast forward to today, I decided to browse at inspiration and as fate would have it, Rick was working. I told him what happened and he said he remembered my comment. I was impressed that he remembered , but even more impressed and happy that he stayed true to his word and replaced the lamp!! Amazing customer service and I'm one happy customer!! They were not pushy and allowed me time to look around but were available if I had questions. I recently called because I wasn't sure how to operate my power recliner the way I had tried in the store. On October 20th, we call to ask about the delivery details. Inspiration informs us that the need will not actually come in until December. To be fair, they did provide us with a refund when I asked for one, but we are still without a bed and need to start the process all over again. Its not as expensive as you think and there are finance options. We looked everywhere and the reason we bought here is you can feel the quality. For years we slept on a bed we hated. Why spend a decade sitting on something you hate while your awake! It's worth it. It took me a while in life to understand but this is where you need to not cut corners.
