Soft and perfectly clean

I own a Uighur camel hair / wool persian carpet I purchased in Xin Jiang China that has never been professionally cleaned. It is one of my most prized possessions. After a decade of high traffic, it needed a deep cleaning, not just a steam surface cleaning. After much research and calling around, I found this family owned shop who are certified carpet cleaning specialists, afaik the only ones on Oahu. Other shops will steam clean at your house, which is not a deep cleaning, they are also mostly accustomed to dealing with synthetic machine made carpeting, not fine hand woven Persian carpets. These guys worked at their dedicated facility, including a full water immersion, and multi stage drying. The attention to detail and professionalism was high. The carpet looks and feels fantastic. Price was maybe half what it would cost to ship it to the mainland for cleaning. They also sell custom cut premium rug mats - recommended.

I was about to dump my really expensive Indich rug because i thought it was a lost cause. These guys under promised and over delivered. It was so bad i thought it was unsalvageable. So happy not only with the result but with the professionalism of the team and you can tell that they really care about the quality of their work and craft. Not many businesses like that anymore who care so much and have pride in what they do. They are true old school craftsmen. Highly recommend if you have a quality rug.

Area rug cleaning

Since we recently laid down COREtec luxury vinyl plank flooring, we pulled out two vintage 100% wool rugs that we had in storage from our former home to lay down. To our surprise, our rugs had darkened because of being rolled up and had developed humidity spots even though our storage unit was air-conditioned. I pulled out my trusty Yelp app to look for the best area rug cleaning specialists and came upon Whittco & Meiso, Inc. They've been in business since 1984 and have been averaging 5-stars, and I felt confident with their work performance record. After determining the rugs' dimensions, I submitted an RFQ through the Yelp app on Wednesday late afternoon. The following morning, Daryl W, owner of Whittco & Meiso, Inc, replied not only with an apology for her delayed response but inquired about the carpets' age, condition and if the carpets needed any special attention. She also provided an estimate for the rug cleaning services based upon the dimensions that I shared. She offered another option if I brought my rugs to their warehouse and pre-paid for services, she'd give me a 25% discount. The quote (based upon dimensions) was reasonable to me, but I did expect a realistic quote after their inspection. Fortunately, we didn't have any other appointments or errands on Thursday, so I arranged to drop off our rugs. They were easy to find in Hālawa Valley, and we arrived at our anticipated time. A male worker greeted us as we walked up to their driveway and asked for Daryl. He knew our last name since we made an appointment, and he called Daryl, who was in her office. He accompanied us to our car to carry the rugs out from our backseat. They unfurled each of our carpets and inspected them with a checklist while pointing out humidity spots, excessive wear, and stains to us. We agreed with their assessment, the new quote with a discount (which wasn't much different from sight unseen), and pre-paid. Daryl estimated a week before getting our rugs back. We picked up rugs yesterday, and they all look fantastic! The carpets look fresh, clean, and almost like new. Daryl had cautioned us about several stains that she noted during the visual inspection, which possibly couldn't be removed entirely, but we could barely see them. I highly recommend them to anyone who has carpet cleaning needs. Their other services include mothproofing, upholstery cleaning, commercial carpet maintenance, rug repairs, mending-refringing, deodorizing and more.

I purchased this 60 plus year old rug from an Estate sale. I don't think it had ever been cleaned and it was dirty and dusty. I had high hopes she could come back to life and they were able to accomplish that. I highly recommend them for any area rug cleaning. A friendly local family run business that's so important to support at this time. You won't be disappointed!!!!

After 10 years I finally decided it was time to give it a good cleaning so tried to do it myself after watching videos but my arms just couldn't take it and I failed to get a lot of the stains out. I called M&M and the owner, Scott, asked me to send him photos of furniture and he sent me a quote same day. He was polite, professional and helpful. This past Wednesday Scott cleaned it beautifully with no mess no fuss and quickly! If my mom were alive she would be soooo happy! He also did an amazing job on the matching couch and loveseat. His quote was to the penny and I also asked for scotch guard to prevent future water stains. I am so happy with how each piece looks that I don't have to cover them when we have guests but more importantly I didn't need to spend money, time and energy to buy new furniture. His company and hard work are legit! When you watch them cleaning it's so amazing how much physical labor is put into it and they showed me the filthy black water from all the soot and dirt that they extracted. Yuck! We will be calling M&M again to clean my father's white furniture. Give them a call you will be happy with the results and how professional they are. He also installed carpet in an additional bedroom and even recommended an excellent carpet for us to purchase. Joe is incredibly professional and knowledgeable about every aspect of flooring installation. He removed our existing carpet, laminate, and tile, leveled our floors (which had numerous dips), and even uncovered three layers of tile downstairs before installing the new flooring. Despite the tremendous amount of work involved, he took the time to really prep the floors and completed the entire project by himself. His work ethic, attention to detail, and craftsmanship were truly impressive. I'm exhausted just thinking of all the work he did! Joe was always kind, respectful, and kept us updated throughout the entire process so we always knew what to expect. On top of all that, his pricing was very fair and offered outstanding value for the quality of work he delivered. He even helped us to get the best prices on our flooring. If you're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and delivers exceptional results with Aloha, I highly recommend Joe! We couldn't be happier with our new floors! Thanks again Joe!

They advised my floors might need flattening after the carpet was tore up and that would cost extra. I was price conscious but not once did they say "we strongly recommend flattening your floors and will not stand by our work unless you pay for this extra, but necessary work". They nickel and dimed me to the extent they charged me an elevator access fee. My building doesn't charge for elevator use?! After install the floor popped in many places when you walked, had a few scratches, a custom built closet door was unable to be put back up, the concrete had crumbled and and was never repaired correctly, my washer would not work because the lid was bent while moving it (charged $125 to move and break it) and coincidentally my toilet leaked 6 weeks later into the apartment below. Fast forward 18 months. Kitchen flooring is coming apart, is not waterproof, starting to warp and they will not return calls or emails. DO NOT risk it. They are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Go thru Home Depot or Lowe's. Even if they wind up contracting to Kama'aina Flooring, they will stand by your satisfaction. At least I hope.

When I asked them to mask up, they said it's their "policy" to not wear masks because they can't breathe and the masks make them "sweaty" (so, I guess they only use masks as chin-warmers??). I told them to mask up, I have kids in my house (and it's MY HOUSE; and there's A PANDEMIC GOING ON; and over 500,000 Americans are dead...). They said they expect a property to be vacated when they install flooring. Um........ this is MY HOUSE. I have stuff here. I have a right to protect my stuff while strangers perform work in my house. And furthermore, it takes virus up to 3 hours to die in the air. Has anyone noticed how it's been POURING RAIN EVERY DAY? At least it has in Mililani. Sorry that I don't have a "spare house" to go hang out at for 6-8 hours while you huff and puff without masks in my house, unsupervised. They put on masks but then..... They literally UP AND LEFT. NOT A WORD TO EXPLAIN WHY. Photo shows how they left my floor when they left. I had to contact them through Home Depot (they wouldn't answer my calls or texts). The carpet was installed (finally ---- ONE ROOM took over 6 total hours) but guess what? They TOOK THE REMAINING CARPET THAT I PAID FOR!!
