I contacted Oahu ChemDry for a quote and it was super easy! He asked me to send pics of what I needed cleaned, then gave me a quote by text. The guys arrived, were very professional and super friendly. They got started right away and worked hard the entire time. I needed my front Jeep seats cleaned because they haven't been cleaned in over 3 years and I have two Rotties that drool on all over them when we go places. The carpet on my house stairs is 15 years old and was disgusting when we bought the house 2 years ago but we were having contract work done and didn't want to clean/replace until after all the workers were done. After getting a scary quote to replace the carpet, I decided to try and get them cleaned in the hopes of getting a little more time out of them. Oahu Chem Dry is the real deal. Finding a good carpet cleaning business isn't easy. Anyone with minimal expense can buy a carpet cleaning machine and call themselves professional. Here's why i feel Oahu Chem Dry is the real deal: 1) They are very affordable, 2) They were able to fulfill an appointment on last minute notice, 3) the owner, Naeole, is very personable and professional, 4) this is a national franchise company with tested and proven equipment and chemicals, 5) since it's a franchise of a national company, this leads me to believe he is insured (read: professional), 6) his process uses very little water compared to a traditional carpet cleaner which leads to my next point, 7) my carpets were dry in a matter of hours, not days, which means less chance of stains wicking from beneath the surface back to the top, and 8) my heavily soiled carpets were cleaned satisfactorily. Here's the low down on my situation. My condo association sucks. We have carpet in the common area hallways on every floor that lead you from the elevator/garage to your unit. The carpets are neglected with years of build up. I bought my condo less than a year ago and during that time, i was told the association would rip up all carpet and replace with new. They did not because they couldn't afford it (and to add insult to injury they also raised maintenance fees 12%). So i was left with a new (to me) condo with filthy carpet outside of my unit. I paid another carpet cleaner to clean half of the hallway, in front of my unit and past the units to each side of me. It came out better but a lot of wicking occurred during the drying phase. It took 2 days to fully dry. A month later, which was a few days ago from today, i called Oahu Chem Dry to re-do the hack job. He showed up this morning at 8am. Instead of only re-doing the same half of the hallway, he did the whole hallway for not much more. Naeole spent a lot more time than expected, but he honored the quoted price. He completed the job by noon today and it looked great. I got home from work at 8pm and the carpets were bone dry, absolutely no moisture, and no wicking. Just clean carpet to my satisfaction. Attached is a 50/50 shot of the dirty carpet and clean carpet. Learn from my mistake (and my frustration with my association). If Naeole and Oahu Chem Dry can clean my nasty-ass carpet, he can probably clean yours too. Don't contract a fly-by-night carpet cleaning company or you might have to do it again and pay twice. read more

Eli was our technician and honestly he couldn't have been more friendly or personable. He cleaned my area rug and couch and they turned out pretty great! I was concerned with a few small problem areas on my couch afterwards and Eli scheduled a touch up appointment immediately. He returned on a Saturday, and essentially re cleaned almost my entire couch, at no extra charge. I contacted them last minute, and Naeole was fast with his response and was able to make it on the day and time I needed them. They were on time and were quick with the job. We hired this Company based on good reviews and a very personable scheduler, but this turned out to be a nightmare experience. The day of the scheduled cleaning only one technician came to clean. The technician also arrived late. We had been given a quote and were very forthcoming on the size and number of rooms. We had no idea that the cleaning would literally be an all day process and that the technician would stop working to eat lunch. When our house sitter did a walk through of the house the technician noted that there were stains on the carpet that he couldn't remove because he didn't bring the stain remover in his van. He offered to come back and clean all the stains he didn't remove but wanted to charge us for another room. Isn't it expected that a carpet might have stains on it....isn't that one of the reasons one might hire a carpet cleaner? I have never had a carpet cleaning company say they'll come back for an extra fee. I can understand if you can't get a strain out but why should we be penalized that you didn't bring the stain remover? If that wasn't bad enough, our son returned home after the technician left and there was a significant amount of cash missing from his room. We immediately contacted the company to report the missing money only to meet with denials and accusations that it was our own house sitter that must have taken the money. After completing a background search of the technician it was revealed that he had a criminal record. The owner claimed he had no knowledge of this. We asked the owner if we could schedule a conference call with the owner of the company, the technician that cleaned our house, our house sitter, and myself. And as of right now there's been no response to our request. Lastly, after the chem dry cleaning there are more stains visible on the carpet then before. It's almost like whatever chemicals they used caused the stains, that we had previously cleaned before, to rise to the surface. read more

These guys came and cleaned the carpet and chairs in our church's sanctuary and classrooms. We were cautious going in as we haven't used Oahu Chem-Dry before. The end result was a great cleaning job, the carpet and chairs looked like new. They also sanitized the carpet in the nursery and toddler's class where kids crawl around, making us feel much more safe about the children's health. The staff were friendly and professional. The most impressive part was watching the guys work - they were busting! Both the carpet and chairs dried quickly and there was no disruption to any of our services. So they came in, cleaned the carpet with the exception of a couple spots they were unable to remove. They said it would be an extra charge to try to get those out. Then....a couple days later I noticed our coffee pot was missing. And then my husband tells me that he got cut on his foot by glass shards. At first we thought the pot possibly may have fallen on its own but then where were all the pieces?? Then we found a couple more pieces under the fridge and even a piece with the coffee pot brand name inside the refrigerator! So apparently someone dropped it and partially cleaned it up. The carpet cleaners were the only ones that were in there and I wanted to find out the whole story. So we contacted Oahu Chem Dry to find out what had happened since no one from this company mentioned anything. The owner said he would talk to his workers but then 2 days goes by and no response. So we call again and no return calls. Now this is not right. First your workers don't even own up to a possible accident, and now the owner can't even return calls to get this resolved! And now we're out a coffee pot and left with a cut foot. Now I'm wondering if there's anything else missing??? And what were they were doing in my fridge....eeewww! You may want to think twice about the honesty of this company. In response to your response... I am not sure why we get a response only now that I have commented on yelp. I usually have my carpets and sectional steamed cleaned, but decided to go chemical clean due to the rainy weather. I was under a time restraint and they not only did a fantastic job on the carpet, but everything was dry within hours, without that chemical soap smell you get from steam cleaning. I inadvertingly mentioned I was planning to steam clean my sectional, and that's when Naeole showed pictures of some their work. I am extremely disappointed in the poor quality of "cleaning" from Oahu Chem Dry. The owner, Naeole, and his helper seemed more interested in talking with each, and on the phone, then cleaning my carpets. Naeole talked a lot about a new business he hopes to start soon in Hawaii and paid little attention to his current job at my home. The Oahu Chem Dry advertises "most stains eliminated". They eliminated ZERO stains on my carpet. Note: my carpet is maintained regularly and in good condition with only two clean adults and one cat living in our house. They also scratched tiles leading into my bathroom with their cleaning tool. The only part they did appear to clean was an area rug which Naeole bragged about not charging me extra for after the tile damage was pointed out to him. $400 for an area rug and tile damage and no stain removal is a high price to pay. I m currently living in MD but I hired this company to clean my carpet at my place in Mililani, Hawaii. I scheduled an appointment n made arrangements with the company via yelp n the response from Naeole, owner of the company was fast n very professional. He was really knowledgeable, understanding n patience too with me--making arrangements with my family in Hawaii availability as well his company's availability. Anyways, he did a wonderful n awesome job on my 10 years old carpet. I am ashamed to say that my carpet was very dirty n ugly even with numerous cleaning with a rental cleaning machine from Longs Drugs store. I even hired a professional carpet cleaners company(not going to mention any name) to clean my carpet before I left the island. Well carpet was clean but stains were still there. The results was almost the same as renting a machine from Longs drug store. This time I Google n read the reviews. People were very satisfied with this company n so I hired this company. I was highly disappointed with the service especially with the guy talking highly about his company and he getting all 5 stars. The reason for the one star was because three of my closet spaces were not cleaned; two closet was cleaned only on one side and one closet wasn't cleaned at all. How do I know it was not clean? Because it still had the imprint of my furniture still in the rug. Also, I had blackish gray stains on my rug from the tool which was used which was left on the carpet for awhile. The biggest problem was he used my brand new vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the wet carpet mess. He stated he forgot his vacuum cleaner. My new vacuum cleaner is a horrible mess and I have to clean out the rug from the vacuum cleaner (I'm still cleaning out the rug from the vacuum cleaner). I didn't inspect the rooms till after he left and was disappointed with what I saw. Blackish or grayish stains on my carpet. It looks like it wasn't even cleaned. I notice if I wasn't watching he did a quick job (upstairs were the stains are) but when I was watching he cleaned better (downstairs and couch). I sent the same complaint when I received an email from the company but no respond. I also tipped the guy $15.00 for lunch. The joke was on me! I was trying to support the small local company but because of this bad customer service I need to re-think my options. read more
