Jewelry department manager, Carrie (with the blue hair), needs to undergo bias training & customer service training! She totally prejudged the situation, assumed that I was lying, and then refused to help sort it all out.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Placed 2 large orders in November for several family member's Christmas gifts.
In my 1st order, we received a pair of opened, USED, DIRTY ear buds (gross!), and could get no response from customer service.
In my 2nd order, there was a note inside stating that some items would ship separately from a different warehouse... well they never shipped, and could get no response from customer service.
Finally, the other day (yes, over a month since I placed the orders), I get in touch with customer service who initiated a return for the ear buds & noted my account for the items never sent (still pending). I was instructed to go to JC Penney store to process the refund for the missing items because the "pending order" couldn't be cancelled?! Seems silly, but whatever, I go to the store with my order info & customer service instructions.
I stopped at the first register I saw, and the jewelry department manager ignored me for several minutes while she continued to chat with the 3 other employees standing there. I wait, and finally ask them if their department is open?? The manager, Carrie (with the blue hair) turns around and says "yes," but no one moves an inch. So I snap a pic of them all just standing there chatting. Cool, huh.
Eventually a nice lady comes over offering to help. I explain what customer service told me to do. Of course, she needs to ask the Mgr. Carrie (who has already shown herself incompetent to lead). Without even looking up, Carrie says, "I'm not refunding anything without the merchandise, period." Then as she walks by, she insinuates that she doesn't know whether the items were shipped or not!! I try to explain again what happened and that I was told... from across the room, Carrie cuts me off to tell the lady helping me, "I'm NOT doing it. Ask Beth."
At NO point did Carrie try to help or explain what I should do since I'd receivd inaccurate information... Carrie did NOT even care to listen, understand, or acknowledge me as a customer who had been dealing with an issue for over a month! She didn't give a dang about any of it!
In the end, the nice lady dealt with Beth & customer service to help me resolve the problem... but Carrie made the entire visit a debacle which turned me off allll the way. Won't ever order here again. read more
