I work at the Walnut Creek H&M, so I usually do my shopping there, but if I am in the area, I'll pop in this location and see what I can find. They have the usual stuff you find in other H&Ms. However, this one is smaller than the one I work at. The selection is small too compared to the one in Walnut Creek. They're priced about the same, at least that's how I see it. The staff member is friendly so I will give it that. I have yet to encounter a staff member who is rude and condescending. What happened to H&M? The styles are not of this world. Not logical clothes that I can wear any more. I loved H&M. Now I'm left scratching my head. I try and go online to look at new items and I don't know who is making the modeling of clothes decisions but you cannot get an idea of how these clothes will work. Everything is frompy and schlumpy and mostly wrinkled looking. The new styles are awful. Recently I found a great set of thong underwear decent black and white striped plain cotton t-shirt and my son got a pair of pants. While the women's clothes are really terrible these days the men's seem nice. My son likes them. He has normal looking pants. I keep coming back hoping to find what I remember as crisp, tailored looking clothes and I've yet to find those things. read more

I needed to do a return on a pair of pants that I lost my receipt on (yes that's my fault) but I assumed I could at the very least get a gift card for the amount and come back later. The exchange had to be done right then an there, so after an hour of searching I finally found something to exchange with. They did not look up my purchase via my credit card just trusted I was exchanging, very bizarre business practice if you ask me. I did an exact exchange both my items were $34.99 but the cashier a young male told me I needed to find something under $2 to do the exchange because there was money left over. I told him it's fine and that I am ok with losing the few dollars on my exchange. He refuses so I fine a pair of socks and he told me I owe him $6. I refused and told him I wasn't paying more for an exact exchange he finally let the exchange be even. Needless to say don't lose your receipt for H&M!! I shop here all the time in person and online and will not be shopping here as often and especially at this location! read more

Purchased $65 worth of baby clothes. I made sure all the pieces were there before checking out. At checkout, I told the cashier that she can leave the hangers on the baby clothes. She said, "we reuse the hangers." So I told her, "oh ok that's fine then." I thought it was odd because I only saw adult black hangers behind the counter and no baby white hangers. Also, the baby hat was attached to the hangers so I thought it was odd. But I didn't think twice about it. The hat, as part of the 3 piece, was not placed in my bag. I don't live in town and definitely would not pay toll to return the item. It was suppose to be a gift too. It is very disappointing that they don't have a cashier ringing sequence to follow to ensure that customers receive good service. read more

This H&M is a hit or miss. They have nice clothes here but all the ones I want are expensive!! oh my geeze they wanted $20 for a thin ass plain gray cardigan...No thanks. One of their signature brands is "Divided" & my gosh is that brand expensive! & the material is cheap & thin too. It was my first shopping here. I found couple of decent style I could use. But, disaster happens at the check out. I complimented the store, that I liked what are presented, and told the middle aged female cashier, that Some styles were what I was looking for. She did not say anything, but a young latino cashier in about 20's, says, not so loudly but loud enough for me to hear, "he is bullshitting, right?" And my cashier lady replies to him, 'ye.' And the young latino cashier walks away behind the counter. It was subtle, and I was more occupied in paying. I was happy that I found some style I could use. So, I shared honestly, that I am pleased. I was very pleasant. They say, I was bullshitting? I spent about $80.10. I don't even remember they thanked me, that maybe she did, maybe. I am home now, cannot forget the latino cashier's unnecessary insult(towards a paying customer?). Merchadise was good, but the cashiers especially the young latino male cashier's conduct TOWARDS A PAYING CUSTOMER! is, VERY VERY underclass. I feel frustrated, bothered. I am thinking, returning what I bought for refund. It is double bad, because I kind of like merchandises I bought. But, I do not want to be reminded of that outrageous, unpleasant latino male cashier's conduct towards paying customer, whenever I use the merchandise. This is probably my least favorite H&M location. I did an experiment last week. I shopped at the Walnut Creek location and I found some gorgeous pieces that I really couldn't decide what to buy. I found a pretty gray lace dress here. A couple of days later, I went to this location and found that none of the cute stuff were in this location. It makes me wonder: Do they ship all the new arrivals to higher grossing locations first? There must be other reasons why, but this one came up. Maybe any retail gurus out there can clear it up for me. If I want to shop for anything specific like a dress for a special occasion, I'd rather go to the Walnut Creek store. read more

This store tends to be understocked on guys clothes but I love what I get, even if it is much less than I need. If you are expecting to get a lot of clothes at this store and you are a man, just save yourself the frustration of picking through what is left of the men's clothes there and head over to SF and hit up the H&M's over there. But if you are just a local nearby and need to pick up a shirt and aren't looking for a new wardrobe, this is the place for you. "Meh. I've experienced better." Exactly that. Every time I come in here (or most clothing store for that matter) nobody has ever asked me if I need help with anything. I mean, I see you folding clothes and we make eye contact but no "hello!" or "can I help you with anything?". The clothes pretty much sells itself so the bigger part of your job would be providing a pretty good shopping experience for your customers...but instead I get cold looks while I shop and pretty bland interaction with the employees at the register. It's like ring my items in as fast as you can because I can't take this awkward silence. Pet peeve: Employees chatting with each other behind the registers instead of using that time to chat with the customers. read more

My senses are on overload every time I come here. The loud music, the colors, and no organization with the clothes whatsoever. The girl at the counter looked at me like I was invading her time when I needed to exchange a dress - HELLO, YOU CHOSE THIS JOB, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO HELP THE CUSTOMERS! I don't like rude staff, this is a huge pet peeve of mine. You're better off going to the H&M on Powell Street in San Francisco, or in Walnut Creek. This is quite possibly the most unsatisfying H&M i've been to for these three reasons: 1. No Men's Section This means my BF has to either follow me around (or) sit on some clothing display and play on his cell phone while he waits for me. I'll look over and feel guilty, so then i end up leaving after 3 minutes 2. Small Location The store is pretty small so it isn't a true representation of the fabulous clothes this place has to offer. Very limited in style selection. 3. Cant ever find my freakin SIZE! Im a little woman...and maybe all the other little women try to shop here too and end up taking my size! This is a smaller H&M. Very limited mens clothes and no kids clothes. I usually find something here that I'm willing to drop 20 bucks on though - even if I only wear it once or twice. You know, I rarely leave H&M without buying something... The WC store is much bigger, has more mens' clothes and a whole section of kids clothes (although, while I find the girls clothes ADORABLE, I find the boys clothes boring and uninspired.) I'm surprised this is my first post for this place. I've gone here plenty of times! Thank you "Check In" for reminding me. Well this place definitely has improved a lot through the years I've been coming here. I believe the first couple times I was here, service was oOOoberly horrible. I mean I would ask for something if they had anymore, and I always get the "Whatever we have is all on the floor..." speech. At least see if another store has it or if they have another color or something else. Uh... customer service? I guess they're not paid to help customers, but just to fix clothes. I get it! Might as well have a self-service register while they're at it too. LOL Yah I was definitely annoyed in the beginning. I mean at the SF store they're WAY nicer!! I do go to the Walnut Creek store for more variety in clothes, accessories, shoes, and a little better service. This use to be my favorite H&M store but I noticed things started to go down hill when they added a mens section to the store. I have nothing against the mens section at all but now it seems like the store is very cluttered for the limited space that they have. The last time I went there, every time I went to the fitting room to try something on, no one was there to assist people in getting a room. It took a while to actually get a room when I asked one of the workers. I am a huge fan of this H&M location for a couple of reasons: a) No effing around with a Men's or Kid's Department! b) Seems to have less of the stupid 80's revival clothing than the Walnut Creek location c) Also unlike Walnut Creek, it has more than three fitting rooms d) Staff is much more friendly and down-to-earth On the slightly downside it can seem a little more picked over and mish-mashed than Walnut Creek but it's worth it! read more

I'm a fan of H&M and partly because they have a men's section. This allows for my dude to browse too instead of waiting for me outside like at other stores in which he has no interest in. Because the men's section is so limited, he was done browsing in no time. It's cool! The employees here were pretty helpful. The fitting room attendant didn't have me wait long before assigning me a room and held on to a couple of my dude's items outside. The cashier ran out of medium sized bags and gave me options on whether I wanted to squeeze my items in a tiny bag or a huge one. I like it when they give me options instead of making their own decision. H&M is awesome. read more

The stuff at this H&M doesn't seem as nice as the H&Ms in the city. I was in there yesterday and everything looked more cheap. Not price wise (well price wise too) but the material of the clothing and designs just looked more cheap. Could they have more hoodies and beaters all decorated with skulls? Maybe they just have to cater to the type of people that shop at each location. But I would much rather make a trip to the city for a nicer selection. read more

This H&M is on the smaller side. They have your typical sections- career-type clothes, casual stuff, teen things, and men's. No kids section. The store feels crammed...because it is. You can find some good things here, but it is H&M, so that is to be expected. read more

This isn't the best H&M I have ever been in, actually it may be the worst. Service is horrible. There is NEVER anyone in the dressing rooms so you have to just find yourself a room and don't dare ask for help otherwise you will be treated as if you are interrupting their very important work of not being in the dressing rooms.
