This is a cute little place near the train station. On an early drive to Danbury one weekend we decided to stop here for a bit. The place is smallish so if you want a table there could be a wait on a busy weekend morning. We sat at the bar. Service was friendly, although slow and distracted like the guy had something else he needed to do. I was able to order a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was fine, a little extra greasy, but tasty. Coffee was okay. If you're nearby, it's a decent place for a bite.

Still serving great food at Jay Street. Best coffee in Katonah. Friendly staff & very accommodating. On the egg sandwich, I asked to swap out the bacon for avocado , the American cheese for cheddar, leave off the hash browns, get the excellent Brioche burger bun toasted and get home fried potatoes on the side. Everything was executed perfectly!

I always love going to towns I haven't been to in a long time and Katonah was a place I hadn't been to since I was young. I had always heard good things about Jay Street and it was a good halfway point to meet up with a friend. We came here around noon on a Sunday and we had about a 15 minute wait after giving our name to the hostess. (They will call you when your table is ready). The dining room is pretty spacious and they also have space at a bar. We both ordered an omelette. The side potatoes and multigrain bread were a great addition. I also had ordered an iced coffee, which was very good! I would come back here!

A great place for yummy and healthy brunches. They offer more than the traditional brunch options, but also have items like matcha latte. My friend especially liked their beef chili. Service was superb. We were the only table that insists on sitting outside on a chilly Saturday, the waiters and waitresses helped to set up a heating fan for our table, and checked on us quite frequently. Would recommend.

The breakfast was so good! I ordered the "perfect plate" on the breakfast menu which was amazing. The coffee was also pretty good. The bistro interior is very cozy and clean.

Stopped by for lunch and came upon this cute little spot. It was a beautiful day but all of the tables outside were full. We decided to eat inside. We were greeted and seated right away. Server was nice, ordered our lunch which was phenomenal. The salad I had was so good. Dressing was spot on! We then ordered dessert and it may have been the best tiramisu I've had. So light and tasty. I'll definitely be back.

Loved this caprese sandwich so much!

Love love this place! Just moved to Katonah and on a sweltering day (the day we closed on our house), we celebrated here over a delicious caprese sandwich with grilled chicken and a big coffee-Oreo milkshake and vanilla egg cream. Their breakfast sandwich is also the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had - it's got hashbrowns inside snd the whole combo of cheese, egg, bacon, and fluffy brioche is so outrageously great. Wow! Loved everything and would get it all again. The caprese comes with a big bowl of salad with fresh cherry tomatoes and I'm even craving that again. Can't wait to come back and try more. 5 stars!!!!

Small little café in the downtown area of Katonah, right across from the train station. Parking is limited in this area, you may have to walk a bit good amount of indoor seating. Nice, brunch menu. I have the fried chicken sandwich which was excellent, a very healthy portion, although they use chicken thighs instead of chicken breast a bit pricey, but that is what you can expect for that area.

So when work brought me to Katonah, my first move--before coffee, before common sense--was a full sprint to Goldberg's. Let me say this: the experience was equal parts exhilarating and comforting... like running into an old friend who still makes things the way they're supposed to be made. I went for a sampler of my personal classics. The everything bagel? Phenomenal. The chew, the texture, the flavor--it transported me straight back home. The scallion cream cheese was easily one of the best I've had. If I had a complaint, it's that the bagel leaned a bit heavy on the salt. And yes, I did the unthinkable and left some of the outer layer behind. I know. I'm not proud of it. Next up: the chicken salad and coleslaw--my deli litmus tests. The chicken salad was a strong 9/10--again, just slightly salt-forward--but still excellent. The house-made coleslaw? A full 10/10. I would absolutely come back and eat a gallon of it without hesitation or shame. Now... the heartbreak. I ordered a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. I understand this is a bagel establishment, so maybe the roll isn't the star of the show--but this one was tough, crusty, and pretty lifeless. But the real offense? What I received was not Taylor ham. Not even close. Some kind of regular ham situation was happening, and to make matters worse, the sandwich was barely filled. As you'll see in the photo--it felt borderline criminal. That said, the service? Outstanding. Truly. Everyone was friendly, professional, and welcoming. They treated me like a regular even though it was my first time in, which goes a long way. All in all, I'm really glad I stopped in. It absolutely scratched that homesick itch for a real bagel and deli experience--and more importantly, it reassured me that places like this still exist. Next time, I'm sticking to the bagels... and ordering that coleslaw by the bucket. By the way, it earns three stars compared to its other New York Metro local delis... This would be a 12 star establishment in the north west corner of Connecticut

It was literally the only place I could find on short notice with reservation slots available, which maybe should have been a sign (and certainly a reminder to me to be much more proactive about this sort of thing in the future). This was sort of a meet in the middle for us; she's in Redding, CT, and I'm in North Jersey. Common Grounds is located at the end of a strip mall, though arguably a higher-end one. The parking lot was VERY busy and while spots were relatively easy to find, I had to settle for one further away close to the bowling alley next door. All good though in that regard. The first hint that this was going to go downhill happened almost immediately. Despite having made the reservation for 11, our designated table wasn't available for seating because the prior party was "lingering." There wasn't a time limit on the dining parties so it seemed like Common Grounds just made assumptions on when people would leave, which is probably not an exact science on the best of days, and certainly not on a day where you might have a family reunion element. We were offered a large high-top table to sit at instead, which my mother isn't comfortable with, and after a few minutes of sitting there, were instructed to take a "normal" table by the window. I will give props for the hostess reading the room in that regard and doing what she could to give us an optimal seating situation - the wait and miscalculation wasn't her fault. She was also very nice to my mother, which for sure counts for something. It took probably 15 minutes for our waitress to come by and ask for drink/food orders, which isn't great. I'd decided on the Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes from the Specials menu, only to be told by the waitress that they were no longer available. I then had to quickly pivot to the French Toast from the regular menu, but lack of availability is something that should have been mentioned when we received the menus, not while we're ordering. And it wasn't even noon - a little concerning. I don't know if it was just a bad day behind the scenes, but it took over 45 minutes to get two pretty simple brunch entrees to us, and almost as much time to get our beverages. That would at least be understandable if the place was packed and everyone was busy, but that wasn't the case - a lot of tables emptied up within 20 minutes of our arrival, and in a pretty troubling optic, most of the front-end waitstaff was literally just standing around by the coffee station not doing anything. That's bad management, and could have helped alleviate whatever was happening in the kitchen. You have five minutes to kill? Okay, stop by your tables and apologize for the delay. Help bus and turn over the recently vacated tables. Maybe refill my water glass, which was empty for most of my meal. There's just no excuse for that. And it's a shame because my Cardamon Rose Latte was excellent, and the French Toast was very good as well. French Toast isn't one of my go-to's, but when I have it I prefer it to be softer and not as cumbersome, and this fit the bill. But because the wait time and overall service was mediocre at best, I didn't even want to go near a dessert menu or consider having a second latte - that probably would have tacked on another hour. So by virtue of not being attentive and efficient, Common Grounds left money on the table. A real shame; and frankly, surprising to me given that this has to be a very notable day on the calendar for brunch places. I'd ensure everything was well-oiled and ready to go, and it's clear it just wasn't. I overheard quite a few people outside singing the praises of this place, and I saw enough to probably understand why. But we weren't the beneficiary of most of those qualities.

We do notice two empty tables outside but understood that maybe they don't want to seat people and overwhelm the kitchen. After about 10 mins of waiting we're offered one of the tables that had been empty. (Which were outside). No menus given but we noticed the QR codes. Guy comes by and drops off cups w ice and a carat of water. Waiting... waiting.... Finally another server comes and asks if we'd like to order drinks. Yes, and our meals bc we've been sitting here for quite some time. We get our coffees and there's a lot of grinds at the bottom of the cups, server switches it out. We finally get our food and two of the three meals were not hot, not even warm. But we're hungry and eat but when the server checks in my sister says "honestly for as long as we waited we would've expected hotter food, these two (egg dishes) are cold." He apologizes and says he'll let the manager know. The manager, who I can only assume is Lisa (based on the responses I'm seeing here on Yelp) came out and said I hear the food is cold? And was very aggressive right off the bat. Saying everything comes right out of the kitchen and to the table, we don't have heat lamps. Offers to "reheat" the food (but how, the microwave?) we're already half way thru the dishes as we had waited a long time. My sister tried to express that after waiting for a table, service and grounds in the coffee that this was disappointing - the manager interjects w "well did you tell him did he give you a new one" She does NOT take criticism very well, she's abrasive and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. She then came out (after I assume finding out the whole story and how long we had been there) she said she would take the two items off the bill, which we weren't gunning for. As we just gave honest feedback when asked how everything was. We then noticed her come and check in on the other tables outside bc people who got there well after us also got their food at the same time... As much as I'd want to come back and try it again bc the promise is there. The manager was such a turn off, that I would be spending my money there, again.

There was a lot going on throughout, including awesome live music, hot apple cider, farm store filled with gourmet products, multiple food vendors, pumpkin cheesecake tastings, and of course the vast orchard where all the apple trees were, which were all located uphill. There were over 10 different types of apples, such as Mutsu, Evergreen, Macoun, Snapdragon, and Honeycrisp. I mostly collected the more unique kinds. I also managed to locate the Pear trees, way behind the hay riding area. I picked Asian and Bosc pears. We went on a hay ride, which was $5 and it was rustic, bumpy, giving a sweeping view of the beautiful orchard grounds. Back in the main area, we had lunch. By this time, lines were pretty long, so we divided and conquered, as well as found a place to sit. I shared Pork Ribs and Fries, which were both very tasty. The Ribs were delightfully tender and well seasoned. Fries were perfectly crispy. One draw back was that most everything at the store and most lunch items were quite expensive. Overall, there were great vibes, and I really enjoyed the views at the farm, apple / pear picking, as well as the hay ride.
