I review coffee. At places that claim to be coffee experts. Coffee centric. Coffee elite. Bluestone Lane is one such place. It positions itself at the top of the coffee chain hierarchy. So I decided I would give it a try in Armonk, even though a previous visit to a different Bluestone lane was tragically unrewarding. This place is in a strip mall. It's cute inside and act as if it's a restaurant with hostess seating "please wait here to be seated" signage - leading to a confused collision at the entrance between patrons waiting to be seated, people trying to get to the register, people looking to just order a coffee.... I Immediately noted upon entering that there was exactly one staff member behind the counter, handling both the register and the espresso machine. This is usually a bad sign because one person is doing two jobs. I ordered a Cortado to stay, and indicated I would sit at the bar. The overworked gentleman was friendly and amicable and I asked him if he could do latte art on a Cortado. He said he would "to the best of his ability." He proceeded to make me a Cortado, delivered it in a timely manner, and offered me a water if I wanted - though oddly it was in a cup that was already on the counter. I think they set up the counter in advance, which clearly leads to a mix of clean cutlery and cups and dirty that people set on the counter. I have no idea if the water cup that my water was poured into was clean and I didn't touch it.... The Cortado I received as pictured was poured with a reasonable attempt, though it was below what I can do at home and I'm no barista. I attribute this to the guy being rushed and doing two jobs at the same time, and perhaps needing a little bit more training. But the real tragedy - it was cold. The cup was not preheated, and even though I received the drink quickly after it was prepared, it was not much more than lukewarm and unenjoyable. I left 2/3 of it behind and exited. This is not an elite coffee establishment. It's a coffee enterprise, trying to be a growth chain and compete with the likes of Starbucks, pretending to use real barista and real espresso machines, but delivering subpar to the consumer. read more

If I need to have a coffee break while in Armonk, this is always my first choice. I've been a Bluestone fan for ages, especially when I lived/worked in NYC. They used to be in the Westchester Mall and also have a spot in Larchmont. Regardless, it's nice this one is still pretty close. If you're hungry, the food on their menu is always fresh and delicious. From the breakfast burritos to the healthy bowls, you can't go wrong! They keep changing the menu and it just keeps getting worse. I keep going back hoping the new items would live up to past ones. The pastrami with provolone and sauerkraut was a disgrace. First time at Bluestone Lane. Bright, warm and welcoming as soon as you enter. The employee behind the bar counter immediately greeted us and told us that someone would seat us shortly. True to his word, we were greeted by another employee who sat us by the window. We were offered tap or bottled water to begin with. My friend and I both ordered iced coffees and milk/cream & sugar were provided upon request. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. They came in this little cast iron pan, with an abundance of blueberry compote. The presentation was a 10/10. I couldn't wait to dive in! These just might be the BEST blueberry pancakes I've ever had in my life!! wow!!! My mouth is still watering thinking about them hours later. No need for syrup as the blueberry compote was plentiful! Tried this location of the Australian-inspired chain of coffee shops (headquartered in New York City) and liked the menu very much. Each location has a slightly different menu to suit its clientele. Love the transparency or the ingredients and nutritional value of each item as well as the many gluten free options. The berry smoothie was on the small side and served with a biodegradeable straw. The staff are polite and well trained enough to not chase us away after our breakfast ran three hours. Very much appreciated. I had the green baked eggs which is described as chimichurri baked eggs with spinach, sheep's milk feta, field mushrooms & herb tomatoes served with toasted multigrain. The baking melded the flavors of the different ingredients. I would like to try this dish where the flavors are allowed to stand in sharp relief with one another, but that's just my personal preference. read more

They seems to hire a very inclusive staff, from what I can tell, it's surprising that they are not more inclusive to little ones. There are no changing tables in the restaurant, so if your little one has to go, expect to change them on top of the table you're eating from, because there are no other places to change your little one. Today was my first visit to Bluestone Lane . Lunch was busy and the staff did a great job keeping up with orders and special requests. My order was quickly taken and the Green Goddess Bowl I ordered described as a "refreshing mix of summer greens with crisp cucumber, fennel edamame, toasted seeds, pickled onion and feta tossed in a tangy vinaigrette and topped with an avocado rose. Went here to try this new breakfast/brunch place in town. We enjoyed our meals. All were delicious and dishes were beautifully plated. I had the baked eggs over veggies and my husband had the avocado toast. Coffee was strong and we liked it. The baked eggs could be perfect for my liking if the eggs were not well done and toast on the side was not toasted so well. I want my toast crunchy but not over toasted that made it hard to bite and not enjoyable to eat. So if you are like me, just let them know ahead of time on how you want it done. I am so glad Bluestone is here in Armonk! The food is as good as it looks! We have been multiple times and the quality is always the same. The coffee is strong and delicious. This was not the experience we were hoping for, especially after having eaten at the Bluestone Lane in Larchmont, we had high expectations of the Armonk location. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We arrived at 1130am on a Sunday, expecting a madhouse we were pleasantly surprised it had very few people dining at this time. The service was slow, at all one point we had to get up and ask to have our order taken; we'd been there 20 minutes and no one came by. They were out of all fruit and could not make any kind of smoothie. We ordered our food, 30 minutes later we got our meals. It just did not have the same, care or feel that the location in Larchmont provides. Picture is of my breakfast, bread was not toasted as asked and this became soggy quickly but tasted really good, so there's that. I didn't photo anything else as the family just started eating cause they couldn't wait to leave. I hate leaving a not great review and maybe it was an off day but I can't bring myself to find out. read more
