After taking a walk post brunch, my friend and I stumbled upon this coffee shop. Although the brand isn't new to me since I have been to their Armonk location, this one was almost designed exactly like that one. Plenty of seating, including by the window where we ended up sitting and chatting for a bit. My friend ordered a chai latte and I had a vanilla latte. We both enjoyed our drinks! Again the older Hispanic man at the Katonah location huffed and puffed under his breath when I asked for the inside of my cup for my Cookies and Cream to have chocolate syrup swirled inside the cup, a practice they already do for other drinks. Every single time I go in he gives me attitude. I even asked the young lady who rang us up to repeat what he said. She would not repeat it. Then he made my drink, with a pasty chalky substance that was hardened. The piece of hardened mix was like stick in the blender and did not put in any Oreo cookies. This is important as what happens next ties into this. I take the drink and was unable to get the chalky substance through the straw. I returned it. Got attitude about having it remade. The man walked by the counter saw that she was remaking the drink, took the bad drink, chucked it in the trash and didn't say a word to me. I watched the young lady remake my drink. She used a different powder that was not hard it was fresh and she added two Oreos to the blender with ice, swirled the syrup on the inside of the cup and made the drink the way it's supposed to be made. Clearly the man was trying to make my drink vindictively as to punish me for writing a previous bad review about him. What he said under his breath was "this f*cking guy." Clearly this man should be reprimanded for trying to sell me a purposely terribly made drink. I will contact management about this ongoing issue. This person should not be working there if he can't honor a customer's very simple request. read more

Worst coffee and baked goods of Katonah. Came here to meet up with some Italian friends that we haven't seen in ages and catch up over coffee. Disappointment is an understatement. With all the right equipment you would think coffee is foolproof. Except it's not. You can really mess up coffee and an easy cappuccino. Horrible espresso. Almond croissant was basically overly buttery and semi raw. Overall horrible coffee experience. If you sell coffee and are a coffee bar, I will judge you for coffee. Perhaps their food or orange juice is great but I did not come here for that. read more

In a town such as Katonah where a good cup of Joe is hard to find, Tazza delivers the yummiest munch and bevys the mind can conjure. They always hire the most charming staff who strike up conversations at the tip of a hat! The other day I tipped the 3 young Baristas a fiver and they all started singing an angelic song in perfect harmony. It was breathtaking.. I try to make it here at least 4 times a week. read more

This was a bitter bean to swallow. My family arrived on a weekend afternoon. All we wanted were some drinks to quench our thirst. What we got, however, was a bad experience. First, one of my family members ordered a drink on the menu, and after her ordering with no problems, the worker tried to dissuade her from getting it. Secondly, a drink that was shown on the menu wasn't actually available, as it was a summer flavor. The flavor of the drinks were okay, but the struggle to get them were more than necessary. Love getting my morning lattes and chais here. Service is quick and friendly, espresso is better than any chain. I don't bother with food past the occasional granola bar as it seems like it would be over priced and underwhelming. Stick with the coffee drinks and you can't go wrong. One thing I'd like to see is some cold brew iced coffee, which I'm fairly sure they don't offer. Why, I have no idea. read more

Horrible latte. Coffee was bitter and dusty tasting. Does not remotely come up to the quality at Dunkin Donuts, much less Starbucks. Also ordered two scones, for myself and for my wife. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice place. Nice interiors, seating, decor, etc..but at the end of the day, it's about the coffee for me. I ordered a large dark roast and was given the French Roast. However, when I took my 1st sip I realized it had the hints of a flavored coffee. No problem, I walked up to the counter and the employee poured a new one no questions asked. Nice. However, it was the same coffee. So no mistake was made. The storage containers were being used for other coffees and were now cross contaminated with flavored coffees. Bummer. Real bummer. Came here for a nice snack with my friends a few weeks ago! I ordered some hot chocolate - very good! My friend ordered iced coffee which she also loved. Overall, the workers were fast & dedicated. There was a bit of a line, but I didn't mind because of how good their drinks were! I will definitely be coming back when I'm in town! The place does have a few tables for indoor seating - even though it's a bit of a small space - but great! I normally dont leave reviews but yesterday i had the best experience at this cafe, although very busy (which is a good sign of how good the product is thats being sold!) it was handled so professionally. Time after time i come in and im greeted by smiley friendly faces! No matter what time of the week theres such good service, the owner sure knows how to pick em. The blonde girl whos always there tuesday and thursdays is always such a sweetheart and makes the best chai's YUM and on the weekends the two boys with dark hair are so prompt with service its almost as if they read my mind on what to order and made it by the time im done being ranged up! Coffee is good here, they also sell whole beans to take home w/ several different varities to choose from. They also have your typical lattes and such, if you`re into that sort of thing. Decor and furniture is nice, by all means a good place to read the paper with your coffee or tea What I would really like to see Tazza do is lower their pastry prices. The prices they charge on that end of their menu are crazy expensive. Muffins for $3.50...I could get 3 muffins at most markets for the same price and they taste just as good. The croissants are also priced similarly and nothing special. So, unless they cut those prices in half, I would suggest eating at home or local deli before you stop here. read more

As we walked in the door, we were greeted by the young women working in the store with smiles and loud (but not too loud) "Hello"s! The coffee was hot, fresh and tasty. As was the hot chocolate. The young woman behind the counter actually made eye contact (a rarity these days, anywhere!) with me and thanked me for my purchase. Lime cake was MOLDY. the woman working tried to yell at the boy that served us and manipulate him into trying to convince me that he just put out the pastries. his response was that he did in fact not put them out today. (E.g., The baked goods seem to be factory made / not fresh). I'm sure the people that work there are very nice but they don't seem friendly. I attribute this to neglectful management; rather than the people themselves. One minor thing that irritates me are the poor quality paper products (E.g., cups sleeves don't insulate, lid plugs not available). The coffee is steaming hot, but you don't get a warm feeling walking into this café. A nice sunny, but cool day begs for sitting outside, but only three small tables did not provide anywhere near enough seating on the patio that could have easily accommodated more. My first intention was to get a coffee and something light to eat for lunch, but glancing at their offerings at the counter, the sandwiches seemed skimpy and unimaginative, I've seen better offerings at gas stations. The day was way to nice to spend it indoors, and since none of the food appealed to be, I took a latte to go. The coffee was good, and quickly served up hot. I wasn't far from the service counter, nor was anyone else really in the store, but still the server behind the counter felt the need to shout out "latte" like a short order cook bustling out a dozen different items. There is no personality or warmth to the place, so aside from being someplace to get a decent coffee, there is nothing that sets this place apart from dozens of other coffee houses, and the overall feel seems generic. read more
