Another great spot in Westchester with great vibes and food! The service was great and so were the prices. I thought the prices were very reasonable for their afternoon tea and a la carte dishes. I had the afternoon tea set for 2 and their lemon ricotta pancakes. The tartness of the lemon was balanced out by the ricotta and that paired with the chewiness of the pancakes was just a delicious combination. 10/10 would recommend it! With their afternoon tea, you can choose the tea you would like and they have a great selection so you'll definitely find something you like! Then you choose your tea sandwich and the rest are assorted fruits, scones, and petit-fours. I went with their BBQ chicken salad for my sandwich and I really enjoyed it. I thought the scones had a great texture to them and weren't too sweet. The flakiness was just right and was not dry at all. I had such a great time here and am definitely looking to visit again. It's a great spot to visit on your own, with friends, or your partner I would say.

Eatarry is a very cozy little place with about 10 or so tables. We we're warmly greeted and seated promptly. We ordered one order of lemon ricotta pancakes, which was huge. Photo shows one half of the order which the kitchen split without even asking. Certainly enough for two people to share. We also ordered scrambled eggs on the side, which were delicious. Their coffee was excellent. They had an extraordinary offering of loose leaf teas which was brewed perfectly in a pot. I ordered the Irish breakfast tea. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast or brunch.

Don't ask me why I'd never been here before. Maybe because we tend to go out for dinner more than breakfast or lunch (which is when Eatarry is only open). But oh my! What a fun place to spend the morning and linger over a beautiful cup of tea. I got the polenta breakfast with the two poached eggs. I asked if they'd make the eggs a little firm and they happily complied (my friend wanted hers "regular" and they were soft as she liked.) She got the heart grain bowl (I forgot what it's called on the menu). She said she usually gets this bowl and her partner gets the lemon pancakes and they share. Now THAT must be an amazing combo! Sweet and savory. I'm going to try that next time. The service couldn't have been nicer. Really quite the local gem for morning/afternoon adventures.

Feeling generous today, so I'm awarding the Tarrytown "Eatarry" 3 stars. My fiance and I come to Tarrytown every June 30th for our anniversary, and it's always, always, always intensely busy in the downtown area (Main St). Eatarry could be great, but I feel like the staff here may just not care... Firstly, it was BLAZING HOT in there, no AC and only a large fan for the wait staff by the front register. After we were seated, it took quite a while for anyone to take our drink order (we desperately needed ice water) and it really wasn't busy! My "Lyndhurst" sandwich was decent but the "homemade" potato chips were not. Could possibly return, but it's unlikely.

Should have read the reviews first... I was completely caught off guard by the automatic 20% tip and they add to the bill plus 3.5% credit card fee. Especially when they only took our order and never checked on us once ... Food is mediocre. Ambiance doesn't fit a "high tea/breakfast". They serve you beer glasses for water and in the bathroom was a picture of the bridge being blown up... so strange.

Great selection of teas. Get the waffles and stay for the scones. The staff is very nice. Gets busy for brunch. Will be back. My daughter likes their kids pancakes.

Stopped by Eatarry in September and just getting around to writing the review. We were a group a 5 and the staff was very accommodating and seated us right away as we did not have a reservation. I ordered the tea party and really enjoyed everything that came with it. Love that they have a lot of tea options. The shop was decorated nicely and had outdoor seating which was perfect for the fall weather. Their menu has a lot of food options and we will definitely be returning to try out the other items.

We came to this area for the day to explore. We were happy to grab breakfast here. We each enjoyed our breakfast. The S'mores pancakes and oatmeal were really good!

    Sample of the seasonal pancakes!

Every time I'm in the area, especially with friends, we have to stop by Eatarry for brunch. It's always delicious, never fails. The staff is so incredibly friendly and the food is consistently good. Usually there's a long wait but this weekend we were sat right away, even with the long wait. It's totally worth it.

There were also several picnic benches around the side of the building, but I wasn't clear if they belonged to the restaurant. You order at the register and they call out your name when your food is ready. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options, as well as a great breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and dense. The flavors were mild, but the sandwich was the perfect portion size. I also got a side of the vegan bacon. It was rubbery and tough to chew. Would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast burrito. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower pieces were well coated in buffalo sauce and very flavorful. I also got the Don't Kale Me juice. It was tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. The Deep Roots smoothie was also quite tasty. They have free self-serve water and the employees were quick to wipe down tables so they were clean for the next party. Looking forward to coming again!

Going inside Grass Roots Kitchen was a breath of fresh air. The aesthetics put me in the mind of earth day and such beautiful paintings on the wall and flowers and greenery throughout. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit with the help of the cashier, I didn't get her name and it's on the receipt but I threw it out. Even though this was not a vegan dish, who could pass on a collosal cheese biscuit. The egg was a nice accompaniment to this cheese biscuit also. The lady that gave me the biscuits said, wow! That smells nice. I thought she was giving me a compliment on the order until I sniffed the bag. Normally I don't do well with my sense of smell but, boy oh boy! That was a gooooooood smelling biscuit. And the taste, it tastes so good, it makes you want to slap yo momma. (Don't do it, it just makes you want to slap her.) Needless to say, I really enjoyed this cheese biscuit. In hindsight I guess I could have grabbed a hot drink, maybe next time, and there will be a next time because I told the lady that this was my first time and at the restuarant and I'm new in the area. We do notice two empty tables outside but understood that maybe they don't want to seat people and overwhelm the kitchen. After about 10 mins of waiting we're offered one of the tables that had been empty. (Which were outside). No menus given but we noticed the QR codes. Guy comes by and drops off cups w ice and a carat of water. Waiting... waiting.... Finally another server comes and asks if we'd like to order drinks. Yes, and our meals bc we've been sitting here for quite some time. We get our coffees and there's a lot of grinds at the bottom of the cups, server switches it out. We finally get our food and two of the three meals were not hot, not even warm. But we're hungry and eat but when the server checks in my sister says "honestly for as long as we waited we would've expected hotter food, these two (egg dishes) are cold." He apologizes and says he'll let the manager know. The manager, who I can only assume is Lisa (based on the responses I'm seeing here on Yelp) came out and said I hear the food is cold? And was very aggressive right off the bat. Saying everything comes right out of the kitchen and to the table, we don't have heat lamps. Offers to "reheat" the food (but how, the microwave?) we're already half way thru the dishes as we had waited a long time. My sister tried to express that after waiting for a table, service and grounds in the coffee that this was disappointing - the manager interjects w "well did you tell him did he give you a new one" She does NOT take criticism very well, she's abrasive and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. She then came out (after I assume finding out the whole story and how long we had been there) she said she would take the two items off the bill, which we weren't gunning for. As we just gave honest feedback when asked how everything was. We then noticed her come and check in on the other tables outside bc people who got there well after us also got their food at the same time... As much as I'd want to come back and try it again bc the promise is there. The manager was such a turn off, that I would be spending my money there, again.
