Pondfield does it again! My husband and I went around noon and sat at the counter to get more of a diner experience. Our server gave us a list of specials for breakfast and lunch and also recommended a couple of dishes they could do, the birds nest being on of them. We both chose the birds nest, and I got a couple of modifications. It normally comes with over easy eggs, bacon and bread of choice, but I got scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and some corn tortillas to keep it gluten-free. It was phenomenal! Hot and fresh, right off the grill. Gonna have to come back for this one more time before we go back to Florida. My new favorite breakfast spot! I love a good breakfast and I swear diners and reasturants just aren't the same anymore. So I was super excited to finally make it to Pondfield. I ordered a cheese omelette with fries it came with a piece of bacon which was so good. I decided to get that with a bagel instead of toast, a side of bacon and an order of French toast. Everything was cooked perfectly, the bacon came out a bit too crispy so they remade it for me without a problem. The hash brown/potatoes and pancakes were also amazingly good! We literally loved everything and cant wait to go back and try a few things on the lunch menu. If you are looking to get good breakfast please stop by Pondfield. Came here about an hour before closing on a Sunday, its small but we were able to get a table! I got a combo with two chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, bacon and eggs over medium with a side of toast. I also got a chocolate milk which was a Nesquik bottle which I haven't had in a while, the taste still holds up to when I was a kid! The pancakes were different but good! The sausage and bacon were regular and normal, nothing crazy. The eggs were probably a little overdone for my liking but I think I should've probably just asked for over easy since these yolks were barely runny at all. The sourdough was a great companion to the eggs though! The biggest downside to this place is that it's cash only. Very inconvenient and we didn't know until I showed up, luckily I had some on me and had enough for my friend who was with me. Overall a very laid back, casual, old school vibes. What a great find. We were in Bronxville for an appointment and were hungry. Googled great breakfast in Bronxville and this popped up at 4.5 stars. First of all, shocked it's not sitting at a consistent 5 stars. When you walk in, feels like somewhere my dad took me in the 60's and we're talking original 60's. We sat down and the great service started there. My wife ordered the pancake special and I ordered the Toluca bowl. I won't speak to hers, though the one bite I got in, was fluffy and sweet. My Toluca bowl reminded me of my childhood in Mexico and California. It was pure perfection. If I didn't live an hour away, I would be there weekly. It was fresh and delicious. I was visiting my grandma in Bronxille to help. her take care of the apartment when we decided to order brunch. I got to try the bagel with lox and cream cheese and I also split the breakfast burrito with my mom. The people who worked at the cafe were really nice. They had really strange hours for lunch and I really had a hankering for a burger. The breakfast burrito was ok. The tortilla was a little strange and it as dry, but drowning in sauce. The flavor was nice though. The bagel with lox and cream cheese was really good and I was happy with the drink selection. I ordered a diet coke. I noticed that they had some of the police k-9 unit trading cards and it was a great talking point because I have one too and they aren't that easy to obtain. They have to be gifted to you. Pondfield features all the familiar breakfast and brunch selections such as breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes, etc. But, the real joy of this place is the superb breakfast specials they offer. Each week, Pondfield publishes 10 or so different breakfast specials on their Instagram account--all generally Mexican-inspired dishes featuring ingredients like eggs, tortillas, Avocado, homemade salsa, and so forth. As for the interior, Pondfield is your typical diner, with booth and counter seating. Nothing special, but definitely homey! Used to love this place, but my mom, who has been a customer since Ponfield opened, was yelled at for simply existing today. She said nothing but the server decided to pick on her, talk about her while she was eating, ignore her table and speak poorly of my mother while she was feet away trying to enjoy lunch. Someone put hubby on to this little neighborhood gem and I'm all the happier for it. We drove here one weekend for a comfort food brunch and happily waited about 20 minutes for a table so that we could see for ourselves why they're so revered in the area. The staff is super friendly and the food is so very good. This is what I want when visiting friends and family, unpretentious food that's filling and cooked with love. I had the French toast special with two eggs, two strip of turkey bacon and a turkey sausage patty. Hubby had the pancake special with two eggs, two strips of pork bacon and a pork sausage patty. I've been dying to go back but that proves to be difficult now that we have baby in tow. I found this place on Yelp Saturday am and headed out. And now I'm mad this place isn't in my neighborhood. It's got everything going for it...small, place packed with locals where I was lucky to get some seats at the counter without a wait. A small staff that really hustles to get people fed quickly. And the food! It was amazing to watch the guys in the back in charge of the griddle. They got food out so quickly and everything looked amazing.
