My new favorite breakfast spot! I love a good breakfast and I swear diners and reasturants just aren't the same anymore. So I was super excited to finally make it to Pondfield. I ordered a cheese omelette with fries it came with a piece of bacon which was so good. I decided to get that with a bagel instead of toast, a side of bacon and an order of French toast. Everything was cooked perfectly, the bacon came out a bit too crispy so they remade it for me without a problem. The hash brown/potatoes and pancakes were also amazingly good! We literally loved everything and cant wait to go back and try a few things on the lunch menu. If you are looking to get good breakfast please stop by Pondfield. Make sure you have cash as they are cash only!

Came here about an hour before closing on a Sunday, its small but we were able to get a table! I got a combo with two chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, bacon and eggs over medium with a side of toast. I also got a chocolate milk which was a Nesquik bottle which I haven't had in a while, the taste still holds up to when I was a kid! The pancakes were different but good! The sausage and bacon were regular and normal, nothing crazy. The eggs were probably a little overdone for my liking but I think I should've probably just asked for over easy since these yolks were barely runny at all. The sourdough was a great companion to the eggs though! The biggest downside to this place is that it's cash only. Very inconvenient and we didn't know until I showed up, luckily I had some on me and had enough for my friend who was with me. Overall a very laid back, casual, old school vibes. Solid, well balanced, quick breakfast!

Toluca Bowl. Pure authentic deliciousness. Heavenly. Yum!!!!

What a great find. We were in Bronxville for an appointment and were hungry. Googled great breakfast in Bronxville and this popped up at 4.5 stars. First of all, shocked it's not sitting at a consistent 5 stars. When you walk in, feels like somewhere my dad took me in the 60's and we're talking original 60's. We sat down and the great service started there. My wife ordered the pancake special and I ordered the Toluca bowl. I won't speak to hers, though the one bite I got in, was fluffy and sweet. My Toluca bowl reminded me of my childhood in Mexico and California. It was pure perfection. If I didn't live an hour away, I would be there weekly. It was fresh and delicious. I am thankful I will be in Bronxville a few more times over the next few months. We will be back. Thank you again! So perfectly yummy. Julie and Deb

I was visiting my grandma in Bronxille to help. her take care of the apartment when we decided to order brunch. I got to try the bagel with lox and cream cheese and I also split the breakfast burrito with my mom. The people who worked at the cafe were really nice. They had really strange hours for lunch and I really had a hankering for a burger. The breakfast burrito was ok. The tortilla was a little strange and it as dry, but drowning in sauce. The flavor was nice though. The bagel with lox and cream cheese was really good and I was happy with the drink selection. I ordered a diet coke. I noticed that they had some of the police k-9 unit trading cards and it was a great talking point because I have one too and they aren't that easy to obtain. They have to be gifted to you. This cafe must be a really special place.

Amazing food and service! The apple cinnamon French toast and the home fries with bacon, eggs, and whole wheat toast were so good! Our waiter was also amazing and super friendly and attentive! Highly recommend this place to others!

We are back at Pinefield today for another amazing brunch. This is definitely our go to place for brunch in the area, and I would highly recommend it to anybody. Pondfield features all the familiar breakfast and brunch selections such as breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes, etc. But, the real joy of this place is the superb breakfast specials they offer. Each week, Pondfield publishes 10 or so different breakfast specials on their Instagram account--all generally Mexican-inspired dishes featuring ingredients like eggs, tortillas, Avocado, homemade salsa, and so forth. As for the interior, Pondfield is your typical diner, with booth and counter seating. Nothing special, but definitely homey! And, they don't take reservations (seating is on a first come, first serve basis). A final shout out goes to the amazing staff at Pondfield! Everyone is super nice and friendly, and they treat their customers like family.

The breakfast was fresh and delicious . Fast and friendly service. It's a small "diner" style. The meals never disappoint.

Friendly service. Very satisfied with the pancake special. Scrambled eggs were fluffy, bacon and sausage patty were very tasty. Pancakes were fluffy, could have had more vanilla flavor. There are only 5 tables and the counter stools will feel very cramped if you're tall like me. I didn't want to wait for a table so we got the 2 open seats at the counter. Will definitely wait for a table next time. I found what could be our new breakfast spot.

We loved it! Simple, yet authentic American breakfast place! We will definitely come back! I do recommend it!

Delicious food. Everthing they cook is deliiiiiicious. The atmosphere is cozy. The space is very limited and then there is the wait time. But I don't care to wait cuz that food is so worth it. The coffee was sooooo good too. Which surprised me. I usually love 2 expresso shots and they don't have this but their coffee tasted surprisingly sooo good. I want to thank Sue, Sophia, Max and Aiden for the amaxing team that they make while working together in diff capacities and functions. Each 1 of you are awesome. Freindly, courteous, great attitude and smiley faces. Thank you so much for your service. That food!!!!!yummiest‍‍‍‍. I must add that they ONLY accept cash. No cards but they have an ATM machine available. While I think that sucks (because who carries cash these days) but I will not take off a star for that. They deserve the 5 stars!

Server came to take food out order and we asked about our drinks; be here in two minutes. Our food order was in front of us before our drinks ever arrived. Lesson learned, don't let them pressure you into ordering food until drinks in hand or they add bar staff. Burgers were awesome as always, as are the fries. Another pet peeve: one diner is finished with their meal and they come to clear dishes while the other person is still eating. This was not necessary; there was no wait and the place was at least half empty. Haven't experienced this at Tavery before and hope this was a one time off afternoon. Your service experience shouldn't overshadow an otherwise good experience.

I thought the mahi mahi tacos were good and the reaction to other dishes ranged from good to ok. Calimari was just ok- not crispy. Service was fine. Pricing was fair and even a bargain, $13, for a good glass of Pinot. We skipped dessert. The hostess was sweet. Hard to say if it would be an addition to our dining rotation but for Bronxville it just might check enough boxes for success. We will see.

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

It was easy for all of us to walk in and out and the waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable. It was restaurant week which we were in aware of so we were pleasantly surprised as we were able to have a three course meal for not a bad price at all. I had French onion soup to start and I was very happy with my choice as it was very flavorful and had a ton of onions which I love when they leave in all of them when they serve it. My friends had clam chowder and calamari. I had a few calamari and was very happy with how fresh and crispy it was. They gave a nice portion on all three. As for my main course I had a a very nice size steak sandwich that were absolutely delicious. It came with hand cut French fries. I couldn't believe how good it was. I'm usually extremely picky and the steak was so tender and it melted it my mouth. The fries were killer good as well. For desert, I had bread pudding and that was wonderful as well. It came in a cream sauce and I was very happy with what I picked. All in all, I loved my meal and the time spent with my friends that I hadn't seen in almost a year. We had laughs and a very nice conversation and they did not rush us at all. I will definitely be back for some amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere to soak it up with.
