The food has consistently been excellent; my daughters treated me here for Father's Day, and we were all very satisfied. We started with the large onion rings, which were substantial enough to nearly fill us up. For our entrees, I had the BLT, my youngest daughter ordered a hamburger, and my eldest chose the cheesy fries. Everything was well-prepared, and the milkshakes and iced tea were both top-tier. While service can occasionally be slow during peak hours due to staffing challenges, the staff on duty are always friendly and accommodating. Furthermore, the prices are very reasonable. This was not our first visit to the Big Easy, and it certainly won't be our last. If you are looking for fast food, the major chains are located just down the street, and if you are seeking fine dining, this is not that either. The Big Easy Diner is simply a wonderful place to enjoy a quality meal.

She wasn't our server but still checked on us which we totally appreciated. If I lived out here I'd try to snatch her for my own business!! Michelle was equally as pleasant! Checked on us just enough, made sure our food was exactly what we needed. The food was DELICIOUS. The shrimp on the Shrimp salad was cooked perfectly. The batter was not heavy but rather light and crisp enough. The Cobb salad was the perfect size and every ingredient was fresh and delicious. The ranch dressing - PERFECT! We typically share a meal but after eating tons of fried food we needed some fresh greens and Big Easy did not disappoint. We were pleased to see how well kept the exterior and interior were. We will DEFINITELY stop here again when in town.

Not a large restaurant but they have a few tables for larger parties. This go round we had the, sample appetizer platter, crawfish pies, fried chicken, pork chops, meatball sub and the special that night (catfish jambalaya). See photos for some of the items. It's a nice place to go for a small, local restaurant feel in Slidell and try a variety of Louisiana favorite dishes.

I decided to try them again but this time I asked them to make sure there was enough white gravy on it. When I picked up the order, they charged me four dollars extra for about 6 ounces of extra white gravy. I thought that was extremely cheesy of them but I paid it and certainly won't be back. I drive by this restaurant almost every day and never see many people in it. Now I know why.

I buy extra when I can because of the minus side... It is almost impossible to get in here! I don't mind queuing up to wait at a restaurant, but every time I try to go they are lined up out the door. I have tried to go at off-times and it's still busy. Being so busy, the experience at the counter always feels rushed and there is nowhere to sit, so I never stick around once I have my bagels. I realize it's a good problem for a restaurant to have, but it still makes me want to go elsewhere. Most times I do. The bagels are a definite 5+ stars. The overall experience is 2 stars at best. Splitting the difference and giving them 3. I keep going back (well, trying to, at least) because the bagels are that good. Your results may vary. If you figure out a decent time to go in, give me a holler and let me know. I'll buy you a bagel!

Overall, the kitchen is still doing what it's supposed to do, and the flavors are still very much home.

We started out with an order of seafood croquettes. They were good, but not our favorite. We also had an order of brussels sprouts and they were perfect. My husband ordered their shepherds pie. It was a massive portion. The whipped potatoes on top had just enough flavor to complement the beef and veggies. My daughter ordered the seafood, stuffed potato, and boy was it stuffed! Rich creamy sauce with lots of shrimp and crawfish. The yakamein was calling my name! It was perfect for a cold windy day. I had a little bit of a kick and just enough noodles and seafood to make me happy. The portions are very generous, so be prepared to ask for a to go box. This place is definitely worth checking out.

well it's been awhile since I reviewed..looks like last time I was when I first came back to Yelp…read moreabout nine months ago.. I think I'll review again as I've probably had since the last time seven or eight meals here nothing has changed still holding it four stars. one thing though it's very aggravating with only this ta and no others they're not carrying Heinz 57 sauce anymore by choice because the locals just don't get it no one seems to get it..I mean it is Louisiana and do know they like their hot sauce but other T/A Petros in Louisiana have no problem with it.. that we're not going to hold him to it because the food was fantastic I had a double meal here as usual came in had myself the prior night my usual because this is the only place you're going to get it they're wonderfully delicious famous sausage and chicken gumbo WhoDat!! and a nice salad way I like it with the lettuce and the tomato and cucumber what I like about here that use a nice good fresh celery slices cuz why you can taste that bite it is so yummy. however this is one of those ta-petro owned ones that lost their bacon bits and now have the little jar of shakin bits.. but it's okay the salad is nice and fresh usually nine times out 10. for dinner I decide to have chicken fried chicken...huh? you mean chicken fried steak? now LOL I mean chicken fried chicken.. what is chicken fried chicken will think of chicken fried steak is your cubed beef patty flattened out breaded dusted coated and fried; now gang think of a nice grilled chicken breast done the same way after the chicken breast is cooked it's coated a little bit and breaded and stuck in the fryer and oh is it yummy and.."VÌOLA" chicken fried chicken. same way as a chicken fried steak 30 get this mashed taters and you put the old country gravy on both and Grub down.. add to diet Pepsi. so dinner was good.. I was tired brushed my teeth went out to truck I went to sleep. next morning dinner was great decided let's have breakfast again haven't had breakfast at this one in a while so I decided to go on in there and I got myself to French toast and egg combo. lightly dusted with powdered sugar not heavily and the Smuckers sugar-free syrup. and what's become a huge favor for me at TA and petro and many other places the turkey sausage yes it looks just like a pork sausage patty only when you pick it up there's no grease on the plate or underneath but what is not lost is the flavor..many people I noticed once they try it and they're adventurous enough to think "whatever I don't know if I'm going to like this healthy crap, but here we go down the gullet" the response is usually quite pleasant hey the stuff is pretty good and it's healthy.. I always keep it at the house now Jimmy Dean turkey sausage patties for breakfast sometimes in the freezer... so for the most part a good for stars across the board still I'm not dropping it I'm not adding it get back the Heinz 57 please I like it on my hamburger steak and I like it on my grilled chicken the baked potatoes. all in all though this Country Pride is still a good one one of the older 76 Orange Ball truck stops..and I have no problem I'll keep stopping here it's convenient to New Orleans beats all the traffic and good deal.

One thing is noteworthy. Their hours of operation are strange - open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day. A ten o'clock start would seem to exclude the truckers in the adjacent truck stop, as well as anyone trying to get breakfast before they hit the road in the morning.
