We were on the road and luckily happened upon Sedra Bistro. I had the country fried steak and my wife had the eggs sausage home fries & English muffin. All absolutely delicious! Everyone was so warm and friendly, esp to our dog! The biscuit may be the best biscuit I've ever had. They gave us an egg for our dog and she ate it before we got to the car. Service excellent! I've been to Sedra Bistro twice for brunch. The first time was great! The owner/servers were all so nice and helpful! I started with an Irish Coffee and it was so yummy. It's hard to find good pancakes but I was pleasantly surprised by Sedra's. The omelet and pasta dishes were pretty good too. Unfortunately, the 2nd visit didn't live up to the initial hype. Service wasn't as good and the Irish Coffee was not good at all. We had them remade and they still didn't taste right. We didn't want to make a big deal so informed the server and told her we'd just keep them. When we paid, the server finally told us that they had run out of Jameson Whiskey. I don't think they should have continued to sell it without the proper ingredients. Overall, the food is plentiful, but pricing is a bit steep and you can get a comparable and cheaper meal elsewhere. read more

My husband and I were headed to a Saints game on a Sunday and wanted to stop somewhere for breakfast/brunch before getting into New Orleans. The menu is what sold me, so many options! My husband described walking in as "walking into someone's home." Cozy, simple, welcoming. The vibe reminds me of a restaurant that's part of a motel but in the best way! Tablecloths, cloth napkins, a basket of saltines with butter and jams. Service was great and we got our food pretty quickly. My husband and I each got omelettes that were stuffed well! We got to meet the owner and hear her story on our way out. This place has regular customers because the owner stopped us because she didn't recognize us! Great breakfast , brunch, and lunch spot. Joined some church family here one Sunday and enjoyed some great breakfast. I had been in the mood for pancakes, and these definitely hit the spot. I enjoyed pancakes, brown sausage, eggs, and grit, my favorite breakfast. I was full after eating half of my pancakes but they made for a nice breakfast the next day. Our waitress was awesome, I hate I don't recall her name, taking care of our party of ten. Looking at the outside, you would not image the space there is inside the building. A great place for small and large parties, this is definitely a great place for breakfast a brunch. Located in Slidell, there is plenty on the menu, to satisfy everyone's taste. I'm not really a breakfast person, and consider brunch to be only nominally better. That said, I liked Sedra's. The breakfast/brunch selection seemed solid, and they had regular lunch options too. I was actually in the mood for an omelette, and they accommodated my request for it to be made with whole eggs instead of just the egg whites it was described as having. It was tasty and a pretty generous size. Ambiance is pretty nice. I just wore blue jeans because I wasn't sure what to expect, but they had white cloth tablecloths, so you could dress up a bit - not that you have too - and not feel out of place. read more

Diner coffee is usually trash and I actually got 3 refills here, it was that good. I had the bacon explosion omelet (half cuz it sounded amazing, half cuz it sounded like Nathan Explosion and that was too metal to pass up) and man o man what a treat. Hubs got the chicken Benedict which was also fantastic. I think they brine the chicken in pickle juice. Came here yesterday for xmas lunch. So thanks to Yelp-I jumped off I-10 coming home from New Orleans on Easter Sunday - and tried this little place out. My brunch was simply to die for. I can't begin to explain how the sweet and salty complimented each other. The coffee was very much needed due to grumpiness from lack of any for the morning. Our servers made us feel comfortable due to not being dressed in Easter attire. We did apologize and they continued to make us feel comfortable and wanted. We fell in love on our first visit. Inside is very clean and eye pleasing. The taste was awesome the portions large. Food was really good. On the way out we asked to meet the owner who seem to be a genuinely nice person. We didn't get the owners name, but the restaurant is named for her daughter, who was also there working. First night was with a group, but had to go back and try more. The service is great. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel like family. The owner is involved in the serving, working the floor and mingling with the customers. The food is delicious. I had the breakfast Quesadilla and my husbad the seafood omelet. We sat with some friends and one of them had the catfish dish (forgot the name of it). The other friend had like a shrimp pasta (no pix) Everyone was very satisfied with their food today. From Benedict to crepes to omelettes, they have it all. Pretty packed today but the food and service were prompt. I got the Irish Coffee which was pretty good. Light sprinkling of cinnamon on top of the whip cream was a nice touch. For food, we chose the Crepe Sedra which was filled with sautéed crawfish and creamed spinach & artichoke. Also covered in creamy Creole tomato sauce. Both the spinach and the sauce were loaded with flavour. Second dish we got was the Sedra's Boudin Benedict Grilled. Traditional muffin with a boudin cake, topped with grilled ham, fried green tomato, and poached egg. Drizzled with creamy Hollandaise sauce. Very good option if you want a "different" style benedict. I walk in and there's no employee on the floor. The place is empty except for one table. I wait and wait and finally someone comes out of the kitchen and seats me. The food I received did not match the menu description. I was supposed to get 2 crabcakes and got 1...there was no artichoke but there was crawfish mixed in with the shrimp and pasta. I was given artichoke after I pointed out the mistake. The food was okay. The Alfredo sauce was heavy and thick not what I was hoping for. Service was good - a little slow because they were understaffed but not bad. When they did arrive they were very friendly and professional. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. Potatoes were a little on the salty side, but well cooked. The Amazing Chicken sandwich was just that - amazing. Attended a luncheon today for 27 family members at Sedra Bistro. White tablecloths and linen napkins covered each table and gave off an air of neat and clean. The menu offers a variety of Middle eastern and American food but also offers a Brunch menu that measures up to my fond memories of The Brennans Restaurant in New Orleans. I chose Eggs Sardou and was very impressed with the thick, delicious and plentiful hollandaise sauce that covered the eggs, creamed spinach and artichoke hearts with a cup of perfectly cooked grits on the side. Everyone enjoyed their choice of dishes and quantity of food served on every plate. I ordered beignets for dessert and they were served still warm, light, fluffy and covered with powdered sugar. The service was excellent and keeping this crowd fed and orders organized was not a small task.
