    Seafood Lover Omelet
    Jay C.

We were very pleased with the food. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and breakfast is served all day. I highly recommend the catfish topped with crawfish sauce; it was fried to perfection. The seafood omelette was also excellent, filled with plenty of seafood. The service was exceptional; our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The only area that needs improvement is the selection of alcoholic beverages, as there were very few options available. Overall, the ambiance is pleasant and inviting.

Great breakfast , brunch, and lunch spot. Joined some church family here one Sunday and enjoyed some great breakfast. I had been in the mood for pancakes, and these definitely hit the spot. I enjoyed pancakes, brown sausage, eggs, and grit, my favorite breakfast. I was full after eating half of my pancakes but they made for a nice breakfast the next day. Our waitress was awesome, I hate I don't recall her name, taking care of our party of ten. Looking at the outside, you would not image the space there is inside the building. A great place for small and large parties, this is definitely a great place for breakfast a brunch. Located in Slidell, there is plenty on the menu, to satisfy everyone's taste. The omelettes and breakfast quesadillas were a huge hit with our party. I will definitely return for the pancakes and to try other menu items.

Veggie omelette, whole eggs instead of egg whites

I'm not really a breakfast person, and consider brunch to be only nominally better. That said, I liked Sedra's. The breakfast/brunch selection seemed solid, and they had regular lunch options too. I was actually in the mood for an omelette, and they accommodated my request for it to be made with whole eggs instead of just the egg whites it was described as having. It was tasty and a pretty generous size. Ambiance is pretty nice. I just wore blue jeans because I wasn't sure what to expect, but they had white cloth tablecloths, so you could dress up a bit - not that you have too - and not feel out of place.

We fell in love on our first visit. Inside is very clean and eye pleasing. The taste was awesome the portions large. Food was really good. On the way out we asked to meet the owner who seem to be a genuinely nice person. We didn't get the owners name, but the restaurant is named for her daughter, who was also there working. Truly the best in locally owned, family run, and a very positive experience for our out of town travels, and quest to find hidden gems.

So thanks to Yelp-I jumped off I-10 coming home from New Orleans on Easter Sunday - and tried this little place out. My brunch was simply to die for. I can't begin to explain how the sweet and salty complimented each other. The coffee was very much needed due to grumpiness from lack of any for the morning. Our servers made us feel comfortable due to not being dressed in Easter attire. We did apologize and they continued to make us feel comfortable and wanted. The seating was spaced nicely - noise level was enjoyable. Could easily carry a conversation without straining. Would definitely come back.

First night was with a group, but had to go back and try more. The service is great. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel like family. The owner is involved in the serving, working the floor and mingling with the customers. The food is delicious. I had the breakfast Quesadilla and my husbad the seafood omelet. We sat with some friends and one of them had the catfish dish (forgot the name of it). The other friend had like a shrimp pasta (no pix) Everyone was very satisfied with their food today. I also tried the cappuccino and learned that they have their own coffee blend. The restaurant was clean and bright. Restroom was clean. Definitely a place to try!!!

I came across this place on Yelp & decided to give it a try! I'm glad I made that decision! There was no one seated when I walked in but they came trickling in after a bit. The service was great! The menu has a good bit so it was hard deciding on what to order. I started with Lavender Latte. It was good but not sweet. The Crepe Sedra was amazing! The fruit crepes were delicious as well! I cannot wait to be back to try more.

Working with Cate was an absolute highlight of the planning process. Her communication was exceptional throughout, and she consistently went above and beyond to ensure every detail was thoughtfully handled. We met multiple times, and at each meeting she took the time to understand our vision, address any concerns, and adapt plans accordingly. She was incredibly flexible, creating and adjusting different layout options depending on weather scenarios, and always made us feel confident that everything would come together seamlessly no matter the circumstances. One of the most memorable parts of the planning process was the tasting Cate arranged for us--it was beautifully done and helped us feel completely confident in our menu selections. Her attention to detail and commitment to creating a personalized experience truly stood out. On the day of the event, everything was flawless. The space was transformed beautifully, the food was outstanding, the drinks were excellent, and the service was impeccable. Every element came together perfectly, and it was clear how much care and effort went into making our day special. Overall, our experience was nothing short of incredible. I highly recommend Meribo to anyone planning an event, you will be in the best hands!

That's clearly communicated when you're greeted, so naturally it sets the expectation for shareable portions. We started with the ricotta and meatballs. Overall, portions felt on the smaller side, but the ricotta, especially at $18, was honestly a bit shocking in size. When we asked about it, a server jokingly said "inflation." I get it, but still. The two guys I dined with come here often and were actually the ones pointing out that portions have seemed to shrink. For mains, we each ordered a pasta. One was a server recommended agnolotti with crab, corn, and roe. It was decent, but the broth felt a bit too loose and could've used more depth and richness. That said, the crab portion was generous, the pesto was great, and the red sauce pasta was solid. We also ordered two pizzas, hands down the highlight of the meal. Easily the best thing we had. One small but off putting detail, the red pepper flakes were served in an open jar rather than a shaker. It made me question how many hands had been in it, especially since it appeared to have been reused from another table. Not the most sanitary presentation. Dessert was a strong finish. Panna cotta, tiramisu, and olive oil cake were all fresh and delicious. Drinks included a cocktail for me and beers plus an espresso martini for the table, all fine. Service wise, things started okay but felt rushed toward the end. We even mentioned we were still picking at food and what seemed to be a manager still cleared plates from the table. The tables themselves are also very small, which doesn't help when you're doing family style dining. Our server appeared to be training someone but never introduced them, which made things feel a bit awkward. Also, when resetting silverware, it felt rushed and a little careless, almost tossed onto the table rather than placed. Overall, the experience was good but not great. The food had its highlights, but portion sizes versus price and some service missteps held it back. 6/10, and honestly it reminded me why I hadn't felt the urge to come back before.

The main dining room is inviting and stylish in an understated way. Our server was super friendly and the food was excellent. We had an appetizer sampler to start - hubs wasn't fond of the thick batter on the calamari but also noted it was tender and tasty. My family is Italian and had Italian friends who owned a shop and made their own homemade Italian sausage... I'm not saying Mandina's makes their own but one bite took me back. I think the texture would have been better served in grilled chunks rather than the slices that tasted fried; the crispy surface area of the cut exposed interior wasn't bad but not my preference. Also included was fried stick of eggplant which was some of the best I've had. I ordered the veal parm for my entrée that was cooked perfectly, the marinara was exquisite and the perfect ratio to the veal and the pasta. Another entrée ordered was the shrimp bordelaise but switch the shrimp out for a veal cutlet which they were happy to do as my daughter doesn't eat tomato sauce but was eager to try the veal. The down side was that their bordelaise wasn't traditional bordelaise of the red wine sauce variety; the dish turned out to be like pasta tossed with garlic and butter and we wish we had known. When I asked the waitress if it would be traditional bordelaise she confirmed that it was, which was why we ordered it. That it turned out not to be was a let down. But all-in-all this was a great dining experience for all the right reasons. If you're like me and hate being stuck in touristy eateries, hop the street car down Canal and tell the conductor to let you off at Mandina's and thank me later.
