Server was amazing! Oysters were fabulous! The view and vibe were beautiful. Unfortunately, the entrées were some of the worst seafood I've had in this part of the country. The shrimp on my salad tasted like canned shrimp--the kind my mom used to put in macaroni salad. The crab was a glob of stuffing reminiscent of Thanksgiving. Minus 5 stars, bar tender and obvious so called manage, saying they are not get gravy for a dry roast beef sandwich , and then when they removed a sandwich we never received, they adjusted the bill to the same total. They owe me 12.95 plus tax. In addition, the so called fresh seafood is frozen shrimp, the overall quality of food and service is on par with the ghetto state of Mississippi. Had the Monday pork chop special with loaded baked potatoes and cornbread. The pork chop was perfect and so tasty. The loaded baked potatos (mashed potatoes with toppings) was good but sure wish they gave you a bit more. The cornbread, not so great. Pretty dry and crumbly. Popular area restaurant, huge outdoor space with a cover so it's perfect for a warm day, even if there's rain. Went for brunch, exceptional service even during the rush. And this area is pretty small so feels welcoming and everyone knows someone else. Got the oyster variety, and the eggs Benedict. Food was delicious. And I like that there's a large bar right in the center, so it's a great place to come for drinks. read more

I've been to Bacchus many times & always enjoyed it. I took my out of town guests there 7/25/26 around 5:30. They were busy. We were seated outside. We had a very attentive server especially as busy as she was. But when we received our food everyone's entree was cold. My poboy bread was almost stale, tasted like it had just been cut from the loaf & my fried oysters (barely Luke warm) put the bread. My son ordered a Peace maker poboy, half shrimp, half oysters. It had 2 oysters on it, he had to ask for more. Plates had to be sent back to be heated. I was very disappointed s were my guests. read more

We decided to stop in to Bacchus on the Beach the night before we left town. I soooo wish we would have had time for a quick bite beforehand, though. Their food was delicious and I would have absolutely returned to try more treats. All of the ladies in our group got appetizers. We ordered the crab croquettes, the Mardi Gras poppers, and the seared ahi tuna. We all shared a bite of everything and it was phenomenal. The drinks were tasty (I had an old fashioned) and the service was top notch. If you are in the area, definitely come check out this wonderful restaurant and enjoy the beautiful sunset! read more

Monthly group of friends (17) been waiting to be able to eat here for a few months. They won't seat us all together in any shape of table arrangement. First table gets their food and check and the 2nd table has not even got our food and it's been almost 2 hours. Manager has the nastiest attitude and full of excuses. Table one was told they don't have dessert. 10 minutes later someone discovers dessert. This is the worse place I've ever been in as far as service goes. read more

To say we were dissatisfied is an understatement! Ordered drinks and got them in a timely manner. Same with the oysters! But then after we got our oysters, some minutes later my daughter had to walk inside to get our silverware and dishes to put our oysters on so we could eat them. Finally ate the oysters which were great. After some time got to order our food. Once the food arrived ( I ordered the blackened redfish with a crab cake and sautéed squash and zucchini. I didn't see the crab cake when my plate arrived but found it finally under my fish. It was about the size of half a hockey puck .As I started to eat, I told the wife the fish was amazing. But then the issues began with the rest of the food. The crab cake ( if you can call it that) tasted like pure bread with no flavor. so I tried the squash and zucchini! It was like they were cut , thrown on the pan for a second and put on the plate. So undercooked, you had to force the fork into them. Poorly cooked and seasoned food other than the fish. My daughter got the famous pork chop, but it was also very underwhelming. At that point my daughter had to go back inside to order a drink because our server( Jasmine) was definitely not present throughout the process. We never got refills or additional drinks. I told the waitress who brought out the drink my daughter had to go inside to order about the under cooked vegetables and bread cake. She apologized and asked if I wanted something in its place. By this time I was fine with nothing else. They did however discount my meal by 50% even though I only tried about a 1/4 of the fish and a bite or two of the rest. Crap service and mediocre food at best! 3rd time eating there in the last 6-7 months. Definitely won't be back. Too many good restaurants on the coast. read more

We went today for Mothers Day brunch. It was very busy. Our party of 6 was seated promptly. The service was incredible. As busy as they were our server was on her A game. We had apps, entree's, cocktails from the bar. Everyone loved their food and drinks. I couldn't decide on what do order, the server suggested the Oyster Sampler. A dozen char-grilled oysters. 12 oysters prepared 4 different ways. My favorite was the "Jackpot Oysters". Picture enclosed. Our bill was less than we expected. This was our first time there. Wow. This place was great !!! Food was absolutely amazing all the way around. The view from the outdoor seating was quaint and warming with some beach vibes mixed in. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely make this a regular stop when I am in the area. I had the chargrilled oysters and smoked tuna dip as appetizers. Both were made very well and tasty. I ate at Bacchus yesterday and ordered the West Indies salad. It was a plate full of lettuce with a sprinkling of small pink salad shrimp and small amount of crab meat. Very disappointing! My oldest son took me to lunch for my birthday and it did not disappoint! He got the Bacchus Boy Poboy and he said it was amazing. I got the Shrimp Poboy. The bread was soft in the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. The ratio of tartar sauce to sandwich was perfect, not too much and just enough. The tartar sauce had a perfect tanginess and the perfect amount of shrimp. Our server gave good service, food arrived in a timely manner and drinks were refilled as necessary. I was looking for a new place to eat in Bay St. Louis and this place popped up. I looked at the pictures and the reviews and they looked really good. When I saw the picture of the pork chop, I knew my husband would be excited because his favorite thing is a double cut pork chop, we got there at about 230 on a Sunday afternoon and we're seated immediately. The service was great. I wasn't super hungry so I got the crabcakes appetizer and a side salad which I did not get a picture of crabcakes were good but not the best crabcakes I've ever had and they were more like crab balls, not crabcakes, but the taste was OK. The pork chop was tasty, but it was a little bit overcooked so my husband was disappointed you get your choice of side so he picked the creamed spinach and it was good but it could've been hotter and the cheese on top was not melted. There was also some kind of sweet sauce that was cold in a cup that came with it and we couldn't figure out what that was for because it wasn't something that went well with the pork chop. he also asked if they could bring us some bread three tiny slices of French bread with some butter packets and they charge an extra dollar for that which we thought was pretty funny because if you weighed these bread slices they weighed almost nothing. All in all it was a decent lunch but not spectacular. I would try to go again and give them another chance because they have great views of the marina and it was the day we went so we sat inside but I would go back to sit at the outdoor bar area that looks great. read more

What a horrible experience! When 3 people, -myself, my husband plus the waitress- confirm the hamburger is raw it must be true. When the same people confirm the tomato slice from a salad looks as if there has been a huge bite taken out of it, I would hate to think that must be true too-but it may be a fact as well. What is harder to get over is the rude sarcasm from multiple members of your staff that was over the top and unwarranted - We won't be patronizing any of your establishments any more after this bad reflection of character. Didn't mention that we were never even acknowledged or served by the outside bartender when we first arrived which led us to go inside. I wanted to leave then. Wish we had. read more

Our food was good. Our service was not the fastest or the friendliest. But it was still good. My husband got the ribeye and said it was okay, but nothing special. I will tell you the bone-in pork chop was maybe the best pork chop I have had. It was so great. So I suggest the pork chop for sure. Our first time, and last. The food was good however the portions were shameful. Ahi salad beautiful cut of ahi w/9 scrawny pieces of baby lettuce it was more like an appetizer. We seriously 6 of us ate lunch paid and then had to stop on the way home for lunch. I have to say that whoever is at their fry station knows what he is doing because their fried shrimp were awesome! Just stay away from their gumbo and everything should be fine!! When I had some of their gumbo, I should have asked for some hot sauce to cover up whatever spices they used to emulate file spices!!! Like... 5 star tobasco sauce would have worked! Had a bad experience: the oysters did not seem like any oysters I have ever had before, they didn't seem to be attached to the shell, they made me sick immediately. I love oysters and left 4 that I couldn't' eat, and I never leave oysters. My husbands chicken tasted like manufactured meat and was sent back. Everything seemed weird. I hate that as last visit a year ago was the exact opposite. This visit, The staff seemed somewhat aloof and uninterested.. This is sad as there are so many other great places to eat on the coast. I will miss eating at Bacchus in OS, but may try the one in BSL? The view is wonderful, the service was usually ok, this visit was different and I am sad about that.
