First time customers. I ordered catfish /oyster platter. All good, hushpuppies were special. Wifey ordered grilled chicken salad. When plates were served, mention was made of charred black chicken in salad. Yzabela P made no verbal comment and left the table. Wifey took a couple bites of charred chicken and sent it back after we were able to flag down a different server. Due to time constraints, we just shared the oyster/catfish plate. Always looking for something different. This Long Beach gem is on stilts since it is directly across from the Gulf of Mexico. There is an elevator thank God. Friendly and welcoming. New Orleans music playing. Quiet. No acoustical reverb. Scotty was my more than capable and fully attentive service person. I came sure Sunday brunch. They have an above average Brunch menu worth my time to try on a return visit. The Bloody Mary was just like I ordered. I am particular with my booze and how it is made. I opted for the roast beef poboy. Thick pain dripping gravy with ample portions of shredded beef. Bread was fresh and soft. Personally I would like to have had it toasted or heated but not a deal breaker. There is a pretty decent size balcony that overlooks HeY and the gulf. Quieter on the inside and cooler. I don't know how I haven't done a review for this place yet since I've visited here at least ten times. First of all: probably the best spot on the Coast for oysters. Great flavor and amazing prices, especially during happy hour. They have a great drink selection and a lot of fun appetizers, many of which are offered at a happy hour deal. Their brunch is great. And their dinner is fantastic. I visited again this past Sunday. I had a nice glass of rose and my partner had an old fashioned that he loved. We tried the blackened gator as an app and it was so good. The dipping sauce for it was fantastic! For my entree I went with the blackened red fish that comes with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. The sprouts aren't great. They're overcooked. But everything else is perfect! And Jerrica is an awesome server; if you get the chance to, sit in her section! The space is large and accommodates groups of all sizes and they also have a covered patio if you want to really enjoy the views of the Gulf Coast while dining. read more

We went here for lunch on a December Friday afternoon. The place was unexpectedly busy (in my estimation), but to their credit, everyone... all the servers and even the manager... chipped in to help out! So, we never really had any long waits. That, really, was very impressive by itself. The food, though, was even better! We started with the seafood egg rolls, and for non-standard-Chinese-takeout egg rolls, these might have been the best I've had! So incredibly crunchy, but not greasy! They were perfection! The filling was rave-worthy as well! My entrée, given that it was lunchtime, was from the Combo menu: roast beef po'boy with a side of gumbo. The beef was so savory and well seasoned, and it perfectly hit the spot for what I was looking for! The gumbo was also very well made, and I'd definitely order it again as a side... maybe even a full bowl! The drink was a bourbon milk punch. I don't remember if this was a seasonal special, but it fit that December vibe perfectly. The view from the restaurant was wonderful! You could see over Beach Blvd to the Gulf beyond. Despite the simple yet modern design inside, it had a definitive "beach vibe" about the place. Clean buy cozy. I've really got no qualms to share. Coterie is definitely a gem when it comes to the food -- every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The menu had a great mix of coastal Southern flair with creative twists, and everything from the appetizers to the entrees was on point. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. That said, the service didn't quite match the excellence of the food. After we finished eating, our dirty plates sat on the table for an uncomfortably long time. It kind of dampened the otherwise lovely ambiance. On top of that, our water glasses stayed empty through most of the meal -- and we weren't the only table with that issue. It's a place I'd absolutely return to for the food alone, but I hope the service side tightens up a bit. Easy to find in Hwy 90 in Long Beach overlooking the beach. Plenty of parking. We arrived for Happy Hour and bar seating was available. The atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, and the restaurant itself gives off an upscale type of vibe but the check didn't match. If you're looking for an affordable date night, Coterie is the place! I started off with the oyster shooter and it was a great start! Here in Gulfport for work. Looked for more local taste and this place was recommended. They are located just outside of Gulfport which is Longbeach. I ordered half a dozen of chargrilled oysters and that was very delicious. Then I ordered the seafood gumbo that had shrimps and crab. This was literally TDF. I don't know what tasted better that's available on earth than this one. It was Very savory. The management here is what I believe to be responsible for my continued Patronage. The bartenders get a +5 stars. Best lemon drop I've had in many many years! The fried oysters on the oyster salad were good! The salad was average. The lettuce would've been nice if it was chopped in smaller pieces. The redfish with crawfish etouffee was very good! I got a lemon drop drink and it was better than my last visit but still tasted off. The brussel sprouts had a nice crisp on the outside and the balsamic glaze was delicious and helped mask the bitterness of the brussels. Mashed potatoes were good! I can't say enough about this amazing gem of a restaurant! We had multiple appetizers and we loved every single one of them. The Garlic Butter Shrimp Roll was amazing, the blackened gator was so tender and flavored so well. We had the Crab Augratin with the flakiest buttery toast I've ever experienced in my life. Didn't really care for the brussel sprouts. It was kinda burnt and too sweet & vinaigrette-y for me. But those Chargrilled oysters were THE BEST I've had anywhere. Even better than my favorite restaurant Dragos. They were big too. The sauce on it was .. great view of the gulf. Friendly service. MOD stopped at our table to ask how we were doing. Stopped by here when random night during the week for a little date. There was plenty of room and they have a bar. It is also located on the beach and you can see the water. We only got the appetizer to drink with our wine. However, it was amazing. The waiter said it was his favorite, of course, but we really enjoyed it. The wine was a very good price and the waiter suggested to buy the bottles since we were planning on getting a few glasses anyway. He helped save some money. The waiter he was very professional and really helpful the whole time. He was impressive and he definitely made the restaurant what it is. All in all, we would go back again, of course, and try some real food this time. The area was clean and although we were the last people to leave, we did not feel rushed out. read more

We stopped here looking for gator, but while talking to our server she mentioned that their chargrilled oysters are the best you can get. This is a bold claim, so of course we had to find out. Wow! I've been to this Coterie Long Beach a number of times. The first was a trip from the Armed Forces Retirement Home. They really took care of us. Since then I have come with my lady friend. This is my second time here I think it will be my last. Food is not good. I had a bacon jam burger it was dry. Fry's seem old like they been sitting out. Shrimp and grits were cold come on. Pasta and Shrimp had only about four shrimp. The place was not full only about 5 tables , staff not overworked. I've been eating along the coast for years, and I'm convinced this place serves the best oysters on the half shell--especially when the guy with the gold chain is shucking behind the bar. One day, we arrived too early for oyster happy hour but still grabbed a dozen. Honestly, those pre-happy-hour oysters were just okay--maybe a 2.5 out of 5. Coterie is the newest bit of New Orleans on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Many restaurants claim a Nola connection but Coterie has the bonafides with another restaurant in LA. It also has legit food in a great atmosphere. From the outside, this restaurant is very deceiving. A raised rectangle does not evoke the same atmosphere that the inside does. Inside is classy yet casual with an upscale vibe. The food is New Orleans and South Louisiana Favorites. Etouffee, gumbo, red beans, and po-boys are all available. Unlike some MS joints, the food is actually good here. I mean, you can't go wrong when you use the right bread for po-boys (if you know, you know). Their roast beef is likely the best on the coast. The chargrilled oysters and shrimp po-boy are also stars of the menu. If you are looking for very good food in a great atmosphere, look no further than Coterie. read more

The staff and bartender were friendly while I waited. The oysters were fresh and the prices very reasonable for happy hour. Once my food arrived, I left. The waitress recommended it and wow... what an awesome recommendation! On a serious note- I usually go for the basics when it comes to ordering seafood at a restaurant- fried shrimp, catfish... the occasional fried oyster po-boy- but for this particular occasion (family dinner), I decided to think outside the box and go with the recommendation of the waitress and boy, I am glad I did! I did experience a bit of a hiccup with oysters one night where they accidentally backed the back clip in one of the oysters but the manager sorted it all and waived my bill.
