Menu at hostess stand read to me to remember when I got to the table
Shannon L.

Was unable to eat here. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten. Menu is napkin sized at hostess and was read off to me quickly. I then asked to take a photo. Server then told me they used a lot of butter in their food...trying to explain his gluten knowledge. No gluten in butter BTW. We walked next door where they do have a gluten free menu and my family felt safe.

Great food and excellent service. I got the catfish and shrimp basket. This came with fries. The shrimp are not huge. They are baby-sized shrimp, but this was not a big deal for me. It was well seasoned, and I enjoyed my meal. We arrived on a Tuesday night, the week of Thanksgiving. It was not full. We were immediately sat. We had a choice of inside or outside seating. We also had charbroiled oysters which were really good. My husband had the catfish sandwich, which he said was good. The coleslaw was good but for $1 I wish the serving was bigger. The major flaw that I have is that the alcoholic drinks had barely any alcohol in them. I was going to order the Cat 5 Hurricane like my husband, but after trying his, I decided not to. Ten dollars for juice was not worth it. So I settled for water. They need to work on adjusting the amount of alcohol in their drinks. But go for the food.

Stopped by The Reef while on Thanksgiving vacation to visit family and the night before Thanksgiving we stopped by the Reef to enjoy a meal that I was looking forward to since I really enjoy seafood. When walking in you enter through the gift shop with plenty of T-shirts and accessories and it wasn't to busy & we were seated promptly to our table. I ordered the catfish sandwich at fries, my wife had the seafood platter and my brother in law and his wife had the oysters and seafood platter. My sandwich was seasoned well and was prepared great. My meal was really good and everyone else enjoyed thiers as well and we also ordered drinks and ours didn't seem to have much if any alcohol in it so that was a bit of a let down but overall the experience was good and I'll definitely come back.

We went at a fabulous time. A Thursday at 130pm. We were maybe one of 8 tables in the place so we walked right in and got sat. We ordered a pina colada and it was horrible. They took it back and said they "hand made it" so it may have been off. The queso chicken is amazingly fresh , zesty and addictive. Husband got Mahi Mahi and a crab cake came with it. He loved both. The restaurant sits on the beach and has all the art on the outside front of building. It's a nice place. There are elevators if you can't make it up those steps.

Came to eat here after I ran a 5k. We sat on the deck, which had a great view! Our waiter was super friendly. The chips and salsa was a good appetizer. I also had the red beans and rice with the catfish. Very big portion sizes! The food was excellent! Would definitely come back!

Chargrilled oysters

Biggest oysters I've ever gotten anywhere, and for the money, well worth it. The food was 10/10- well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There was nothing left on our plate but wads of napkins from wiping the buttery shrimp and corn off our faces.

The view here is great but the food absolutely stole the show! I don't think I will ever stop thinking about the chargrilled New Orleans style oysters. They were so freaking good. The mahi mahi with mandarin pico was good but didn't compare to the oysters. Service was good and I would definitely recommend this place! Looking forward to my next road trip so I can come back.

We really enjoy the food at the reef! Everything is very fresh and well seasoned. Try their ranch...it's really good. We also love the tarter and the horseradish is nice and hot!! Very good service the couple times we have been and we love the ambiance being very "I'm at the beach" feel. Definitely worth a stop! Brittany was a great server and very friendly and gave good info about menu items.

Second floor was closed so we didn't eat at the restaurant. However, we went to the third floor, which is more of a bar. They do serve food there. We ordered the fried okra, gumbo, red beans and rice. My wife is a huge fried okra fan - and she said that was some of the best fried okra she's had in years. The gumbo and the red beans and rice were excellent. they both had a great amount of spice. Nothing overbearing. It is a little pricier than I expected, however, it is in the tourist area on the main strip. For as busy as they were, the staff was excellent. They are patient and professional - they make sure all needs are met and that your visit is the best. Couldn't see much because it was late at night when we were there, but it is located on the water off the main drag. I did see from the parking lot that there is a playground outside for kids. There's plenty of parking on site with easy access and exit.

Food was great, service was good as well. Waitress checked on us often and kept our water filled. Ambiance of space for groups.

This was spectacular from the second we showed up until we left. It's right on the water on the gulf coast and the view alone makes it worth stopping in. When you add a huge menu, cold drinks and world class food/seafood, you have a recipe for a great afternoon meal with friends. We were seated within a minute of walking through the door. We could choose from outside or inside. We opted to sit outside and watch and listen to the surf. I ordered a crab cake starter that was yummy and well made. Followed by a shrimp poboy sandwich and fries. Also excellent. My wife had the Mac daddy which was shrimp Mac and cheese augratin. It was excellent. I also had a frozen pina colada that really cooled me down. The entire meal and visit was just awesome. Cherry was our server and she was fast, efficient and knowledgeable of the menu and drink options. If you find yourself in Biloxi Mississippi, make sure to give this place a try. The food, atmosphere and service are first rate.

Ask the Community - The Reef

Are dogs allowed on the deck?

Yes!

Is it accessible for a mobility scooter?

Yes sir I do believe this was one of the restaurants we went to that had an elevator. We had my 82 year old grandma with us she couldn't climb the stairs so that was a plus

Key deserves a huge shout out for being such a sweet and attentive server. I liked her tremendously. We had the boudin egg rolls and the Swamp Tour Sampler: jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, gumbo, and red beans and rice. For dessert, we had bread pudding with beignets. The Boudin egg rolls were the best thing I ate on my entire trip. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy, every bite was heaven. The jambalaya was the best jambalaya I had on my trip as well. It had a fantastic smokiness and was not wet at all. I also loved the crawfish étouffée. It was creamy and loaded. The red beans and rice had a bit of a sweet edge that was not quite my taste. Try for yourself. The bread pudding was the perfect sendoff. Bite-size beignets were nestled in the bread pudding. It was a sweet, creamy, perfectly Mississippi dessert. I loved Parrain's so much that I bought a T-shirt. I generally don't like wearing clothes that serve as advertisements, but this place just has to be advertised all around the country. Key, thanks for a great lunch! If you're ever in Biloxi, Mississippi, you must go and try this little gem.

We split a few things between the two of us. We had the tour of the swamp. The red beans and rice was really great. Not always my favorite when we go out but it really stood out. Very flavorful. The etouffee was great. Wish there was more crawfish but I always wish there was more. We all probably do with most dishes. lol. The jambalaya was really good. Well seasoned. Now my wife is picky about gumbo and is a hard judge to please. I am a little more on the giving side and look at it from the perspective of "even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work" point of view. A day with gumbo is generally a better day most days. The gumbo this day was not great. I have heard amazing things and I was not impressed. I will only mark off a star because everything else was so great. I hope it was just a bad day and we will hope for a better next time. And there will be a next time for sure. The shrimp po boy was slam packed with shrimp. Great bread and dressed well. The boudin eggrolls were fantastic. Sift and tender on the inside and crispy crunchy on the outside. Loved them.
