I came here for a graduation dinner for a group of 9. They said it'd be a 45 min wait for a table and they'd text me when it was ready. We went upstairs to grab drinks and hang out while waiting and it was taking a while so I went down to check if they had called my name since I didn't get a text. The hostess said they accidentally marked my name off for a group named "Lisa" and apologized then told me it'd be 10-15 mins. We went back upstairs and they came and grabbed us for our table. We ordered our food and it took probably over an hour for it to arrive. My friend ordered the seafood platter fried hard and she said it was no where near that and her corn on the cob was cold in the middle. They took it back and remade it. My entire group was pretty over waiting and we were considering taking our food to go after waiting about 45 minutes. We arrived at 6:30pm to the restaurant and didnt end up leaving until around 9:15pm. The most we got was a "thank you for your patience" and the bill of course had the automatic 18% gratuity for a large party. The food itself was tasty and I would have given 5 stars here if the service wasn't so abysmal or if they at least were apologetic about it. Anyways, I got the boudreaux bread and firecracker shrimp and both were delicious. My friends that got the seafood platters said they were alright. Some parts were great and others were decent. It's a shame that we had this experience here because this is a place I would have liked to come back to, but I will no longer have this place on my list to consider in the future. read more

I was there on a Monday at lunch time. It was fairly busy. I ordered one of the lunch specials, a catfish basket. For $10, it was enough food for me. The Reef is located right on the beach in Biloxi, and has been in business for several years. It is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner, has lots of seating indoors and out, and has a menu full of options for those who don't want seafood. It's also great for big groups. This is where my work takes new hires after hours just to hang out and get to know everyone. Vendors sometimes pick this spot for group outings, as well. It has plenty of parking and is very easy to find on Highway 90. We usually start with some grilled oysters or the smoked tuna dip appetizer, and both are excellent. The gator and pickles appetizer is also good when you have a big group because you get a lot. They have over a dozen starter options and I've tried most at some point, with no complaints. On my last visit, I got the shrimp and grits, and could not even finish it. You get a large bowl full of shrimp plus two grit cakes on top, and it's all in a cream sauce that is amazing. Shrimp and grits can be found at many coast restaurants and The Reef has one of the best. My wife ordered the teriyaki salmon bowl that includes mandarin oranges, and it's a much healthier option that she really enjoyed. In previous visits, I've had their catfish monica, which is very similar to the catfish supreme dish served at their sister restaurant called Salute down the beach in Gulfport. I've also had some of their pasta dishes and the seafood platter. It's all good. Definitely check The Reef out if you are in the area and want to try a locally owned spot that knows what they're doing. The portions are plenty and service has always been great. read more

Great food and excellent service. I got the catfish and shrimp basket. This came with fries. The shrimp are not huge. They are baby-sized shrimp, but this was not a big deal for me. It was well seasoned, and I enjoyed my meal. We arrived on a Tuesday night, the week of Thanksgiving. It was not full. We were immediately sat. We had a choice of inside or outside seating. We also had charbroiled oysters which were really good. My husband had the catfish sandwich, which he said was good. The coleslaw was good but for $1 I wish the serving was bigger. The major flaw that I have is that the alcoholic drinks had barely any alcohol in them. I was going to order the Cat 5 Hurricane like my husband, but after trying his, I decided not to. Ten dollars for juice was not worth it. So I settled for water. They need to work on adjusting the amount of alcohol in their drinks. But go for the food. read more

Stopped by The Reef while on Thanksgiving vacation to visit family and the night before Thanksgiving we stopped by the Reef to enjoy a meal that I was looking forward to since I really enjoy seafood. When walking in you enter through the gift shop with plenty of T-shirts and accessories and it wasn't to busy & we were seated promptly to our table. I ordered the catfish sandwich at fries, my wife had the seafood platter and my brother in law and his wife had the oysters and seafood platter. My sandwich was seasoned well and was prepared great. My meal was really good and everyone else enjoyed thiers as well and we also ordered drinks and ours didn't seem to have much if any alcohol in it so that was a bit of a let down but overall the experience was good and I'll definitely come back. read more

I stopped in at The Reef in Biloxi and had an awesome experience. Me and my friends kicked things off by sharing the fried pickles and the fried alligator--both came out hot, crispy, and seasoned just right. Been a long time customer of the Reef, but this is my first time writing a review. Had an evening dinner with the family on May 16, 2026. We sat out on the deck and as always it was very nice. I had the Shrimp with Grits and was a different version than what I have seen. The grit cakes were coated with either a Panko or Tempura batter which gave it a nice texture and the sauce was creamy with smoke sausage. It was very delicious and the wait staff were very friendly. We went at a fabulous time. A Thursday at 130pm. We were maybe one of 8 tables in the place so we walked right in and got sat. We ordered a pina colada and it was horrible. They took it back and said they "hand made it" so it may have been off. The queso chicken is amazingly fresh , zesty and addictive. Husband got Mahi Mahi and a crab cake came with it. He loved both. The restaurant sits on the beach and has all the art on the outside front of building. It's a nice place. There are elevators if you can't make it up those steps. read more

Visited The Reef twice on our recent visit to Biloxi. The first night we sat in the Sky Bar and enjoyed the fresh air. The bartenders double as wait staff up there and the menu is just a little smaller than the one available in the main restaurant. We were able to get seated earlier that night by going to the bar. You will get more than enough food- you might be able to share! On our 2nd visit, we waited for First Available in the restaurant. That was an hour but it was worth it. We were seated outside but there was a good breeze that day. Again we had more delicious food and more than we could finish. Wait staff was very apologetic for the delay in seating but also accommodating of our requests (we were from out of state). The Reef offers a military discount. Will probably go there again on our next trip to Biloxi. read more

This place was great. The food is ridiculously out of proportion. My wife got the chicken sandwich. It was so big she had to take half of it home. The seafood gumbo was so good. I should have just order the bowl and would be happy but, I had to try the firecracker shrimp tacos. So much food. It came with chips and salsa. Way too much for a normal person to eat. Excellent service. I wish the waiter would have been a lil more in to the day but,you can't have the greatest service everywhere. Overall worth the stop to get great food. read more

Second floor was closed so we didn't eat at the restaurant. However, we went to the third floor, which is more of a bar. They do serve food there. We ordered the fried okra, gumbo, red beans and rice. My wife is a huge fried okra fan - and she said that was some of the best fried okra she's had in years. The gumbo and the red beans and rice were excellent. they both had a great amount of spice. Nothing overbearing. It is a little pricier than I expected, however, it is in the tourist area on the main strip. For as busy as they were, the staff was excellent. They are patient and professional - they make sure all needs are met and that your visit is the best. Couldn't see much because it was late at night when we were there, but it is located on the water off the main drag. I did see from the parking lot that there is a playground outside for kids. This was spectacular from the second we showed up until we left. It's right on the water on the gulf coast and the view alone makes it worth stopping in. When you add a huge menu, cold drinks and world class food/seafood, you have a recipe for a great afternoon meal with friends. We were seated within a minute of walking through the door. We could choose from outside or inside. We opted to sit outside and watch and listen to the surf. I ordered a crab cake starter that was yummy and well made. Followed by a shrimp poboy sandwich and fries. Also excellent. My wife had the Mac daddy which was shrimp Mac and cheese augratin. It was excellent. I also had a frozen pina colada that really cooled me down. The entire meal and visit was just awesome. Cherry was our server and she was fast, efficient and knowledgeable of the menu and drink options. If you find yourself in Biloxi Mississippi, make sure to give this place a try. My meal began poorly and never recovered. I ordered a gin martini up, baked oysters for the appetizer, and the catch of the day as my entrée. The martini arrived in a plastic cup and at room temperature -- completely unacceptable for a martini served "up." When I couldn't find my server, I had to go to the bar myself and ask the bartender to chill it properly. Instead of correcting the issue professionally, she became argumentative and condescending, insisting that because I ordered it "up," I should have requested it "on the rocks" if I wanted it cold. That explanation was absurd. Service continued to deteriorate from there. I had barely started my oysters when a busser dropped off my entrée, and the only utensil provided was a fork. My server was nowhere to be found, and other staff members ignored repeated attempts to get their attention. Eventually, I had to walk to the kitchen entrance myself just to ask for a knife. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the experience. Everything was bland and uninspired, and the service was among the worst I've experienced in a long time.
