Whether it's in the morning or later in the afternoon, this place caters to your dining needs. It's got a great coffee bar as well as a regular bar. And if you're there later in the afternoon, they'll always have a live band playing. My kinda place in quiet Maui.
IMHO This was our first meal in Maui, having always wanted to visit Java Jazz, but never had the time until this trip! Java Jazz is whimsical and eclectic, to say the least. Just walk into this establishment, and you'll understand what I'm saying. Live music was playing and we had our choice of tables. We weren't really hungry but ordered a coconut shrimp appetizer and a cocktail and beer. Shrimp was good but not great. I wasn't sure if the shrimp was fully cooked, but I ate it anyway. Music was fantastic!
I wanted another breakfast place to go to that we haven't been to. I searched the reviews and picked this place. Not sure I did a good job. The place is up North from my resort and only a 5 minute ride, so it was close by. The reviews were just ok but I tried it. We got there and found a parking spot close to the restaurant. When we went it it was pretty packed. all tourist . I looked around but didn't see any seats. My wife and I went back to the front and a waiter said it would be a second, then directed us to a table all the way to the back of the place. Luckily the guy behind the bar said he got us. Otherwise I didn't think we would have gotten any service for a while. The place was packed full of weird stuff for decorations. The walls were written on by previous customers. It was a sight to see. Not sure it helped in know if the food would be good our not. It look Peruvian maybe. The guy looked possibly that or middle eastern? not sure. He brought us some menus and asked if we wanted coffee. I told him just water. I decided to go with eggs benedict to be safe. The wife decided on an omelet. The service was really slow and you could see people were already finished eating and wanted to pay but didn't have their bill. The place was full. We learned later that only two people were working today and the old man apologized for the slow service. My benedict wasn't too bad. The flavor was ok . My wife's omelet was a miss. It was lunch meat and canned pineapple and she said it was horrible. Oh well not a good pick. It seemed like a tourist trap especially the prices were crazy for the low quality food. We have eaten all over the island and had great food at way better prices no need to gouge on prices. We won't be back
Hello Fellow Yelpers We found this place by accident, which was great for us. Had dinner , I had the chef salad with a delicious vinaigrette and my sister had shrimp scampi. Both were very tasty. The best part of the night was the awesome waitress Samantha and the live music singer Chris Magee. We found out they also serve breakfast and we can back in the morning for this. We are coming back tonight to hear the live music again. The decor of this place was unique. It's an old bar with fancy decorations, and dark art stuff. Not sure how to explain it, but some of the things didn't go. The place looked like it needed some care and updates. There were two servers, when we walked in. One told us to wait and the other told us to sit anywhere. We just decided to sit. It took them awhile to come by. But we finally put our order in. I ordered the Hawaiian omelette. It was awful. The omelette was very over cooked and they used thinly, sliced lunch meat for their ham and canned pineapple. There wasn't very much cheese. It didn't taste very good, it was very bad. The only thing I liked on my plate was the toast, and that was mediocre. You would think they would use fresh pineapple, you're in Hawaii! The omelette was overpriced, they charged $22. I compared other cafes and restaurants in the area and the restaurants don't charge as much. I would never come back. This was an awful experience. Service and food were bad. I think they are taking advantage of the tourist in the area. They are charging more than they should for their food. This is unfortunate.
Wow, the photos do not do justice to this location. The food was amazing with such delicious flavors the chef outdid himself from the French toast to the Web run shadow the ambience is you need at least three days to review all the different spectacular paintings around the restaurant and other a novelty items. The service was wonderful great place to come and visit each time the menu is outstanding.
We came at 7pm for a drink and dessert. I found a great spot at the bar to listen to the one man band. He played Billy Joel, Tom Petty, and Grateful Dead. He was pretty good and made this even more festive for a December night. The food is comforting and we went with an amazing bread pudding that was just outstanding. Definitely safe room for it or go straight for drinks and dessert. The bartender is a friendly local. There's a cute black and white tuxedo cat who deserves attention. We will be back again and again. Cheers.
If you're looking for dakine loco moco, this is it! The vibe is amazing and the food is excellent! This place will definitely be on our must stop places to eat!
I don't know who convinced these people that any of their food is worth anything over 15 dollars. Their wings are soggy and pretty much inedible. The fish and chips is huge disappointment, 20 dollars for 3 bits of fish and a mediocre amount of fries???? Other than that the service is okay, and the place looks nice. But to be completely honest you are better off spending your money somewhere else.
I stumbled upon this little cafe/bar on my first full day in Maui and I really enjoyed the whole experience. As soon as I came in, I was welcomed by the staff and took a spot at the bar. The ambience was very relaxing, smooth jazz playing the entire time. I ordered the late bird special and it was great. A simple breakfast at a good price considering the cost of food on the island. My server was absolutely amazing. Attentive, friendly, and made me feel very welcome as a solo diner/traveler. I like it here and definitely not in a huge hurry to take off. I could hang out at this place for awhile. Rated 4 stars just because they charged 2 bucks for a side of hot sauce. Otherwise it was great.
Manuia!! I did a review yesterday about our AWFUL experience with David. I called today to see who was bartending on our last night on Maui. It was Sharon!!!! Praise to God!! This girl is thee most legit woman on the planet!! We met Dorisa and had an amazing conversation and we are going home having new friends and we're leaving the aisle with a heart full of love. Maui no Ka oi Alllll day.
Unfortunately things have gotten worse. Coffee is still good but the food (breakfast) went further downhill and the place is so dingy and groady now. It needs a deep clean really bad! Stickiness and dust and grime everywhere, gross! And don't get me started on the politics, yikes.

Nader was so kind and attentive. The decor is a bohemian dream and feast for the eyes. The island vibe of Maui meets Haight-Ashbury. I had the Veggie Benedict with country potatoes and a Mimosa. I loved the food, the ambiance, and the people. There's a small stage for live music, and they sell fresh organic locally sourced coffee. Definitely check this place out when you're on Maui. read more

In a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the best, the cappuccino is a 3 according to the hubby. Be prepared for sensory overload when you walk into this kitchy place. There is lots to look at everywhere. The bar is on the far left side and the coffee bar on the right. Tables with menu on them and I'm guessing you go up somewhere to place your order. The menu looks good with a variety of breakfast and lunch items. Parking is pretty easy and the ordering was efficient. read more
Joined my Aunt and Uncle in Maui. We didn't realize how early everything closed in Kaanapali and that side of the island. This place was the only one that was open later according to Yelp and Open Table. We were so lucky! We got the last open table and there was live music that was good. We had so much fun! The best part is we were surprised the food we ordered was delicious! The best dish was the fresh Ahi on a bed of sautéed veggies and an amazing sauce. Their fries are nice and crispy. My uncle had the minestrone soup, he loved it. My aunt enjoyed the Coconut shrimp and the lemon pesto shrimp pasta. We shared everything. Unfortunately, they were out of our first choices. The Calamari and the mushrooms, we were so bummed out. Everything else we ordered was delicious! read more

We had the Mahi Mahi and Caesar Salad. Was absolutely delicious. We went to this unique place 13 years ago. We found it because only place that had coffee. We had lunch there 13 years ago. It was much smaller and not as decorated. Now much bigger Very artsy! Last time there more Barbies around. They have live music. read more

The shave ice place was closed so I was going to get a coffee drink at Java Jazz and wait but I waited for like 10 minutes and it was so hot I just left even though there was only one other person getting coffee. read more
This restaurant has tons of decorations and has a very unique personality. A bunch of personal messages from previous customers on the walls and various antiques and art throughout. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was decent - nothing special but standard breakfast dishes. The ambiance was definitely the highlight and is worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

We ate here 3 times over our stay on the island and we were impressed with every meal! Breakfast and dinner were wonderful! We ate the Hawaiian omelette and Spanish both great.... Dinner had the catch of the day and enjoyed the best veggies ever! read more

The food is really good and the customer service is excellent! The gentleman serving us is very attentive and eager to please. The decor is fun and eclectic. We have had breakfast here a few times this trip and haven't been disappointed. read more
Food was delicious. I had the lemon pesto pasta and garlic bread and my partner had the ultimate cheese burger. For drinks I had white wine and my partner had a coco lime cocktail. The drinks were on the lower price and very very good. The food was my favorite pasta I've had in a long time. Service was good and friendly and fast, ambience was "interesting" crowd was very diverse I enjoyed it. read more

Five stars. For sure. Would give it more if I could. Service: Starting with one of the best waiters in history, TONY. He was incredibly kind and WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND when my dad didn't remember if he left his wallet at home or had lost it at the restaurant. He was very welcoming throughout our visit. Food: The adult beverages were very reasonably priced for Maui and great (bottle of wine for $30 and cocktails under $15)! My family ordered a couple pastas and the fish and chips. The pastas were all 5/5, the fish and chips were 3/5, but the portions large. Ambiance: We came in knowing they had live music starting at 7, but we could not even believe what we heard. My jaw dropped throughout the performance out of awe. The overall restaurant vibe is very free spirited and unique. Totally would recommend to anybody and could not even believe this place was in a strip mall. read more

This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast when vacationing in Maui, as you can see. :) This time I had the early bird special. The service is always amazing and the owner is always super friendly and delightful. The ambiance is exactly how I remember it from over 10 yrs ago. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast that's more of a local scene, make sure to stop in! Also, it's very reasonably priced. read more

Loved the vibe in here! Cool decor and apparently it's a jazz bar in the evening. Our server Nader was warm, welcoming and very patient as we took a while to figure out what we wanted to order. My daughter and I shared an entree and Nader brought our food out already separated on two plates. That's awesome. Salmon Benedict was good. I believe it was cooked salmon rather than smoked. Still good. French toast was okay. We didn't care for the raspberry on it. Too sweet. Steak and eggs was good. The steak was cooked to my sons liking. Prices were a bit higher than expected. Lots of parking. Food was overall just okay. Four stars for the restaurants vibe and our lovely waiter. Will I return? Sure. I'll try the dinner menu with jazz entertainment next time. read more

We enjoyed this little breakfast stop with a hippy dipoy 60s vibe. The place was pretty packed, had to notice it was an older crowd (use included), maybe enjoying the retro decor along with the music from back in the day. We sat closer to the bar so the bartender was our waiter....he was on top it! Never had to ask for coffee or wait on service. The food was pretty good too. I had the Huevos Rancheros since I can't turn down eggs with chorizo. Lots of bell peppers, cheese, guac and side of spanish rice. Too much food but hubby helped. I tasted some of his sweet bread french toast with apples and cinnamon. Yes, we had to skip lunch! read more
This was our first meal upon our arrival in Maui! We were going to hit the L&L Barbecue but it was so crowded we decided to try this restaurant instead. The service was super friendly and everyone enjoyed their meals! I had the Loco Moco, pretty good and super filling! My spouse had the BBQ Kahlua pork sandwich which I tasted a bite of. It was not the traditional flavor because of the sauce, but still a good sandwich. The mochas were also good, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up. The only thing that could have been better was to let more light into the space. It made it feel stuffy and the dim light made it hard to see. Overall, a decent spot! read more

What a fun place! I'm sad we only visited once on our short trip. Since it was close to the end of the evening, I ordered a bottle of wine to share with my 3 other friends. The music was great and the atmosphere was FUN!! I would definitely recommend coming here! read more

Our visit to this restaurant is memorable because of the old man who was serving us. His suggestions we quite bang on as we didn't want to have meat - Veg Burrito and Vegetable Omelette.It filled us for good 6hours and the quantity was actually for 3 people.He served us one of the best cold coffee in Maui-Frappuccino,which we repeated thrice. You would love the ambiance if one is into artifacts and paintings . The owner is a painter - so basically while you wait for the food just look around the show pieces kept. read more
