One of my favorite Thai places! The food is always delicious, the staff is super friendly and genuine. You get a lot of food in their noodle dishes, so prepare to have leftovers! I've never dined inside but it has both booths and tables to choose from and lots of colorful decor. Very cozy!

Fantastic! Food/Drink: Entrees were amazing, everything tasted fantastic. The flavors and the smells were intoxicating! Super spicy but not that bad. Bread and Apps: pan seared wontons. Mmmmm Dinning Area: Pretty large, and A little drafty. Prices: Relatively cheap. Small appetizer, 2 entree, and 2 drink I got away for $70. Parking: small space, private lot. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and smaller in size. Atmosphere: During the weekday Dinner rush, pretty busy, but not unmanageable. We did not wait long. Staff/Attendants: Staff overall was Great, family owned and operated I presume. Extremely authentic, deep accent. Awesome experience I will be back! 8/10

What a wonderful place. Jasmine Thai crafts a warm and thoughtful experience with delicious food. The staff is friendly and very polite. The atmosphere is warm, although the restaurant is a bit old. It's very clean and decorated with Thai images and other family memorabilia. If there's one thing that stands out besides the delicious food, it's how calm, cool, and collected the staff always is. They make great recommendations on dishes, spice level, and one waitress will even remember what I ordered two visits before. I've been there when it was insanely busy and the staff never feels stressed. The food always comes out at a reasonable pace, and always with a friendly smile. The mark of a well-oiled machine! Now let's talk food... Everyone I've taken here either loves everything, or at least has a couple favorite dishes. And if you have a vegan in your life, Jasmine  Thai is the perfect place for a date night (especially if they're also gluten free). You no longer have to sweat or secretly roll your eyes whenever they want to go out. Plus, the staff is well-versed in vegan and gluten-free choices, and will happily make alterations for them. That said, for MY appetizers I always go with the Crab Rangoons, Tom Kha Soup, and the Thai Fresh Rolls. The Crab Rangoons sit in a bed of tangy dipping sauce. Perfectly fried, not too-crabby, with the perfect amount of cream cheese flavor. The Tom Kha has that Thai sweet and sour vibe, with a perfect balance of lime, lemongrass, and coconut milk (also available in a noodle soup entree if you ask). Finally are the Thai Fresh Rolls. Often miss-named as the deep fried Thai Spring Rolls (also amazing), the Fresh Roll is a gluten-free vegan wrap, that combines rice noodles, carrots, cucumber, and basil. It sits atop a tangy-sweet dressing that makes my taste buds sing! Plus it's very filling, so you're welcome to share.  As for entrees, I have a few favorites. First is the Tom Kha Noodle Soup. The menu lists the spicier Tom Yum variant, so I asked and they made Kha version that I love so dearly. Next is the Jasmine Pineapple Fried Rice, which I almost always order. It comes with a light yellow curry flavor, with big chunks of pineapple that I like to chop up, egg, veggies, and roasted cashews. Every bite of the yellow curry rice, the juicy pineapple, and the cashew crunch create a symphony of flavor that keeps me coming back for more.  I could comment on other dishes that I enjoy, but I find myself being a creator of habit, usually ordering one of the two entrees I listed above. Don't get me wrong, I'll still eye everyone else's dish, and will try to sneak a taste when they're not looking, but my favorites are those listed in this review. I assume there might be some people who've had a mediocre experience, but I can honestly say its always been fantastic for me. If nothing else, Jasmine Thai is worth checking out to see why the locals all rave about it.

I had the please of having dinner at Jasmine Thai recently after a long time away from the area. My experience made me reconsider what I thou was a long drive to a great restaurant! The service couldn't have been more kind and personal! A big shout out to Jum, my lovely server! The food was wonderful. It was hot when served, super fresh ingredients and very tasty indeed. The toasted garlic on the steamed dumplings was an extra treat, making that appetizer super yummy! The curry puffs were soft and flaky with a mild curried filling. The shrimp satay were perfectly cooked. The duck salad was outstanding, super flavorful! Both the chicken Pad Thai and the Chicken Pad Poy-Sian were delicious. I will be taking the long drive there again soon! Please consider doing so as well if you live a bit further out. You won't be disappointed!

Honestly, probably one of my favorite places I've ever been. This place is a hidden gem! The food is sooooo good and incredibly affordable. The portion sizes are huge, especially loved the ridiculously ripe mango - a delightful touch! The noodles were perfectly warm, and the serving size was generous enough for a few meals. The staff here are incredibly sweet and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The cozy ambiance added a warm touch to the meal. Honestly, I would make the drive all the way up from the city just to eat here again.

If your in a rush, this may not be the best option for a meal. The food was delicious, be sure to ask your server if the dish is spicy or not before changing the spice level. For an appetizer we tried the crab Rangoon, dumplings and the fried chicken meatballs. We enjoyed them all, the Rangoon was my favorite, the rest of our party thought the meatball were the best. The rest of our meals were very flavorful. We accidentally asked for spice level 2 for the Drunken noodles and that was too much. Also when I saw that my meal had cilantro I was excited but there were only 2 sprigs of cilantro. The Andaman Steamy was packed with flavor but my favorite part was the shaved ginger. We had the fried bananas and ice cream for dessert, the bananas were kind of like fried dough with bananas instead and it was delicious. The restaurant offers wine, beer and sake.

My friends and I were craving Thai food while driving through upstate New York and decided to give this place a try even though Asian food isn't necessarily at its best in upstate NY. We were so pleasantly surprised! We got the eggplant with pork, pad Thai with chicken, and spicy basil fried rice with beef. All three were great and large portions too. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. The staff was really nice and accommodating.

Curry puffs - really good and hand made

The tonkatsu ramen, my standard order, had excellent porky, fatty broth. Five stars. I need egg in my ramen though and the slices of kameboko were not a satisfactory substitute. Also instead of pork belly they use pork loin, albeit tender with a nice five-spice flavoring. I was the only customer except for a couple of takeout orders so can't review standard levels of ambience and service. The decor is like some older places in LA's Sawtelle neighborhood; it seems to be a part of an earlier generation Japanese-American aesthetic that you don't mind worn vinyl and wooden fixtures or a counter used for random repairs that is clearly in view of the clientele. I found it charming in a funky way.

We had been wanting to try Simone's Kitchen. But their line for service was sooo long and then the likelihood of finding an available table to eat at looked very discouraging. So, my wife suggested we walk two blocks north to Pho Queen. This was a new location since my last review, but it had the same warmth and comfortable high-back chairs from the former location. Overall, the space is not much different in size from the former; it still only seats about 18-20 customers. We were warmly greeted by the sister of the owner/chef who said she was helping her sister out tonight and offered us seating at a table for two in the front window. The menu still lists a variety of both Thai and Vietnamese style dishes, and I think they still do not offer alcoholic beverages. We didn't inquire about beverages as we were satisfied with the tap water provided. I did see a blackboard that listed a variety of bubble teas. One of the specials that we saw listed on the sidewalk sign from our window seating was Curry Puffs ($10). They were something we'd never had before so, of course we had to try them. The dumpling dough was unlike a wonton wrapper, maybe more like an empanada or pierogi wrapper, and the filling was curry with some vegetables like peas and carrots. There were four of them and they were provided with a side sauce similar to a nuoc mam. They were flavorful and quite enjoyable. My wife ordered the Tofu Phad Khuen Chai ($20). The menu description is sautéed fried tofu with bean sprouts, khuen-chai (Chinese celery) caramelized with sugar, fish sauce, and soy sauce. The dish provided also included carrots and green peppers. My wife enjoyed it but also said it could have been more flavorful. My entrée was a total surprise. I had been thinking about ordering the seafood dish, Phad Cha Talay. But decided instead to order the duck dish, Kaeng Phed Ped Yang. When my meal was served by the Chef it was Phad Cha Talay ($26). I had not mentioned to anyone my original thought. We had a good laugh with the Chef and her sister and I insisted on staying with my "first thought." The Phad Cha Talay was delicious with shrimp, scallops, mussels, squid, broccoli, carrots, green peppers, kaffir lime leaves, rice, and a very flavorful sauce. Each seafood was perfectly cooked to perfection, and the white rice provided an excellent opportunity to soak up all that yummy sauce. Looks like we'll have to plan another visit for me to try that duck dish. Hopefully, when a clairvoyant isn't working.

I wish they had a tofu pho option like most places I go to, but then again, this isn't actually a pho restaurant like I thought it was. Then, I got mango sticky rice, and they gave me about 2 tablespoons of rice. I have never experienced that at a Thai restaurant. Overall, very strange and expensive night for not much payoff. The server was very friendly. I hope it was a fluke, but it was my first time there so I don't think I will be coming back
