Lunch with my grandchild who visited Bangkok last year on an educational trip for high school students. It was a great cultural learning experience. Therefore, Thai food is our first choice when we have an opportunity to try a new restaurant in the area. It was a very good experience in terms of food, service, and setting. Located at the end of a small strip of businesses, the restaurant is bathed in natural light during the day from front and side windows. The restaurant is spacious with many tables to accommodate diners. You can see into the kitchen. Everything radiated CLEAN. We got there at 11am at opening on a Tuesday and were out in 45 minutes. The menu is clearly presented and many lunch specials were offered. We ordered from regular dishes. I ordered Ginger Stir Fry -- vegetables with chicken. Extra ginger. $16.95 The broth was tasty with a vibrant ginger flavor. The serving was generous so I took some home. Ash ordered Lahd Nah with tofu. $16.95 It is a Thai mixture of sauces, egg, served over wide rice noodles with fresh greens and choice of meat or tofu. "Delicious, Thank you" was what the waiter was told. Polite and gracious diner; good company always.

Spicy Thai Basil. (Already mixed, didn't arrive like this)

The restaurant itself though small was nice. Plain decoration, simple design. The menu had a lot of selection. I ordered the Thai basil spicy medium. Jenna ordered The pepper steak. My dish came with medium spice It was perfectly spiced. The flavor of the rice complimented the basil and peppers very well. The flavor was very good. Definitely recommend this restaurant

It was our first time into Celadon so my family and I tried a variety of menu items. Everything was delicious! The soup and chicken satay are not pictured but both were amazing. The curry fries were a delightful surprise. Everyone enjoyed the entrees and somehow still had room for ice cream! The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be sure to visit again when we are in the area.

Drunken noodle tofu for lunch. Spicy and delicious!

Chef is very kind and loves to cook good food- he asks how the dish is and really wants to know.

The service was great. Our server was kind, patient, and fun. The food also came out pretty quickly and we enjoyed the overall vibes of the place. Food wise, I wasn't impressed. I had a few friends mention Celadon as a good Thai place nearby so my friend and I decided to check it out. I ordered the Crying Tiger, which is a steak dish, and he got some sort of chicken noodle dish. My steak was very dry and flavorless. I ended up not finishing it. His meal was a lot more flavorful and tastier than mine but still lacked a bit of luster. The thai tea was yummy so that was a win. I have heard that the curry is good so maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes.

Chicken with noodles recommended by the waitress. Yum!

Still tasty and generous. They use real crab in the spicy crab noodles! I asked for mild and it was completely devoid of spice. I will ask for medium next time but otherwise the crab was sweet and delicious. My friend had her dish hot and it was searingly spicy. I enjoyed the fresh mango with sticky rice for dessert. The rice reminded me of buttered popcorn flavor somehow in a good way.

We had an excellent meal. It was fresh and the sauces were delicious. I'm not a huge fan of spice so I ordered mild and it was perfect. My daughter loves spice so she order her Mango Curry medium and she had beads of sweat, she loved it. We also had chicken sitar for an appetizer and they were juicy and tender. They were served with a peanut sauce and a pickled cucumber relish. The servers were very attentive and helpful with the menu. My 4 star rating is because the place is extremely noisy. So this is not the place for a romantic meal. Otherwise I would highly recommend.

First off, excellent for food allergies or sensitivities! We ordered for a large group, half vegan plant-based and half not. The server was very attentive and paid great attention to detail with our order. With a knowledge of the menu and the ingredients in the recipes he was able to point us in the right direction to get us the meals exactly the way we wanted them. We have eaten at the restaurant numerous times before but this was a tale out order. The seated us at the bar and gave us glasses of water as we reviewed the menu, ordered, and were waiting on out dishes to be ready. As we got into the car the server came outside to the parking lot to find us. He wanted to give us an extra sauce for one of our appetizers as a replacement for the normal non-vegan sauces that came with it. To me that is above and beyond. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meal and we had plenty of leftovers to make a second meal of everything. If you have food sensitivity or special dietary needs, check out Celadon on Rt. 9 in Latham!

Great food. Great take out. Ambience was quiet in there. The food was delicious. Really amazing taste and moist. The sauce was amazing. I am really full now.

    Birthday celebration at Celadon Thai

When we returned from our trip to Thailand we never thought we would find those same fresh and authentic flavors in Albany. But then we went to Celadon Thai in Latham. The restaurant is located in a strip mall near the Latham Circle and is very simple and welcoming in decor. A film of Thai food prep is played throughout the meal and western pop music is played in the background in a very subtle backdrop. There are many dishes to choose from and you identify a level of spiciness according to a numbered system...we found that number 1 was best for us. The beauty of it is that you can order it 0 or 1 (mild) in spiciness and the servers will bring you a caddy of hot sauces you can add to make the dish as hot as you wish. There is an array of Thai, imported and domestic beer and Jasmine or Green tea (among other things). I usually get the eggplant lovers stir fry with brown rice (I love the Thai basil) or the fish special, which is served with a choice of sauces, but I've been there with people who have chosen other dishes like the curries, and everyone has always been pleased. Celadon (which is a shade of green) has great take-out as well. We've celebrated a few birthdays at Celadon Thai and they bring a Thai fried doughnut dessert to share with the table. The servers are very pleasant and helpful. Our favorite server is Nick. Brem is the chef/owner and sometimes his son and daughter help serve the birthday dessert as a special treat. I have also had take-out from their newer location in Clifton Park and it has the same quality as the Latham location.

Everything was delicious! The miso soup was great. The drunken noodles were very good. I got mild which had no spice, but the soup that was medium was pretty spicy. Either way, there was a ton of flavor and everything was well balanced.

    Calamari
    Cassidy R.

Everything was amazing. The service was incredible. The waiter pulled out my chair for me and was so attentive! We got the dumplings, fried calamari, shrimp hot pot and king noodles (which I can't find anywhere else in this area and is by far my favorite menu item). The food was delicious and came out so quickly, steaming hot. Our other server even boxed our food for us and then bagged it and tied it in a cute little bow! Just felt very well taken care of. The ambiance was so cute and the bathrooms are pristine. 11/10 would recommend for a casual girls night out or date spot!! We got two appetizers two entrees and a hot sake for two and the bill was just over $70. Great prices, great food, great atmosphere, great service!!!

Their curry dishes are all accidentally vegan, and you can keep them vegan when you add a protein by choosing either steamed or fried tofu. The staff is so polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes and can help you customize your meals if you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant, or have any other food sensitivities. On this visit they were decorated for the holidays. Beautiful red, silver, and white balls hung from the ceiling, string lights, pine garland, and a flocked Christmas tree in the front window all made the restaurant cozy and inviting. I had the curry fried rice with spring rolls and unsweetened iced tea and my husband had the hot vegetables entree with white rice and a side of sticky rice.

Many people get take out from here which I will admit, we have done twice but we really enjoy dining in at the restaurant because it's fun. The staff is really nice and extremely helpful. When we say vegan they know what we mean which is difficult sometimes because a lot of people have misconceptions about what that entails. You have to think about what ingredients the noodles were made with, do they contain egg or not. What sauces are traditionally used, is it a fish sauce? Is something cooked with butter? So just saying no meat, eggs, or dairy doesn't always make people think about everything but this restaurant gets it. Also people ask well what about gluten? It has nothing to do with being vegan it is related to having celiac disease. Bottom line, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, they know what is in their food and they will tell you or offer suggestions to help you out. The spring rolls, the gyoza, the crazy noodle (drunken noodle), curry rice, fresh rolls, all of it has been good everytime we go. This review is long overdue, Tamarind is just so good if you need vegan or vegetarian options they have a lot of plant-based menu items. The unsweetened iced tea, that's my jam! Love it!

Check! We ordered mild for the more spice resistant of the two of us (with sides of chili paste and powder for yours truly). Flavors were spot on-served piping hot (temperature) in very generous portions. Drunken noodle? Check! These rice noodles are not as broad as some other local Thai places but again-a very large portion with a perfect balance of savory, salty and sweet (also ordered mild for this first visit). Absolutely delicious....oh how I love the gumminess of a good rice noodle. The summer rolls were also great. We tried them with crab instead of our usual choice of shrimp (avocado was also an option). They're served with a peanut sprinkled hoisin sauce and a second peanut sauce. Again-nice sized portion with super fresh ingredients. Almost forgot-we did try a salmon avocado roll to sample the sushi-it was also great. But we wanted to focus on the Thai options. Not pictured but tasted (bc I dove in and scarfed without pausing for photos!): -Larb salmon: I've only had chicken and vegetarian versions of Larb (sometimes spelled Lahb); the salmon (raw) was one of the best things I've tried in a while. The red onions, scallions, rice powder, vinegar, chilies and fish sauce make this the ultimate umami experience that I can't wait to have again. -mango sticky rice: perfection. Ripe mango cut into cubes with sticky, sweet (and slightly crunchy) rice drenched in coconut milk sauce. I'm drooling as I write this. In case you don't now, the original version of this family owned and run restaurant had a terrible explosion/fire and underwent renovations last year. They took over the space next door and expanded the dining room area. It's light, bright and welcoming. Service was awesome-friendly and super fast. The menu is also extensive. I was initially overwhelmed by the choices so we stuck to the basics. Can't wait to go back and try more!

We were there for lunch on a weekend and it was not busy at all. Looks to be a family run business. Service was good with only the lady and her daughter working the front. We ordered the Thai tea and it was a bit too sweet. The Tom Yum noodle soup was good but also a bit on the sweet side compared to what I've had in other restaurants. But I do like it though. Tastes more like the Vietnamese version. The chicken curry puffs were good with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Though a bit pricey with only 3 puffs for $8. Also curry flavor could have been a bit stronger. We will have to go back to try more off their menu. Not only does it have excellent Thai food, it also has one page of their menu offering Korean choices. There are separate lunch and dinner menus. Both menus are easy to navigate and clearly written. Their menus state designated spicy dishes can be modified on a scale of 1 to 5. There are numerous lunch specials offered. They come with miso soup or green salad. The waitress (owner?) was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We started with Spring Rolls and tea. Tea bags were placed in large mugs. I would have preferred a pot of brewed tea and small handleless cups offered at a few other places. We ordered lunch specials: Drunken Noodles with Tofu and Pang Kamee with Chicken. The soup broth was flavorful but could have had more tofu pieces. The Spring Rolls were average. My Pang Kamee was seasoned perfectly. Very tasty, it was seasoned nicely with spices, but not hot. I liked the perfectly cooked wide noodles and thinly sliced carrots. The chicken was moist and tender. The Drunken Noodles was also enjoyed by my daughter. What was exceptional about it was the Tofu!
