Hands down best Thai food in the area! Flavorful dishes, fresh noodles, and friendly staff. Pinto never disappoints.

Every time I visit Albany I try to stop by this little Thai food gem. The food is always fresh and delicious. The lunch menu is nice and the servings are generous. The pad Thai and red curry are two of my favorites. You can also spice up your dish to a level 5 of heat if you so desire. The people are friendly and the service is good. If you have a chance and you are craving Thai it's worth the drive.

I had a wonderful lunch here. They had a great lunch specials menu; I had yummy drunken noodles with veggies and a Thai iced tea for less than $20. Standard Thai fare. The inside was cozy and clean, and the server was attentive.

Green curry tofu lunch heat level 4- yum!!

Lunch service good value, with salad or soup. I had green curry tofu heat level IV. Thai iced tea delicious.

Stopped in for lunch on way from airport and ate delicious pad ke mow aka drunken noodles with tofu and it was pretty delicious. Has th feel of a take out joint with several tables where one server takes phone calls and in-house diners wait. Choice of miso soup or salad as lunch special. Miso soup was a little weak. Overall not bad at all and I'd return happily. New owners as of late 2022.

My friends and I were really hungry and this was the closest restaurant we found around the area which is how we ended up in this restaurant! It looked like a very friendly, small family owned restaurant and you could see them cooking the food from the back. The person who sat us down was amazing and she helped us pick the food! They have many varieties of food and their lunch options are amazing! I ended up trying the fried rice and I'm mad at myself for not finding this place before because this was one of the best fried rice I had. The taste was perfectly on point!! It tasted so good that I had the taste on my tongue even after I left the restaurant! Give them a try, I'm sure you'll love it

A truly tall Thai Ice Tea!

OK, I know I said on my next visit I would consider trying the Spicy Chicken Wings or possibly the Korean Je Yuk Bokkeum, but today on a hot and humid day my mind was taking me to a far away tropical land dreaming of mangoes. With that in mind I ordered the Salmon Mango Curry ($18) to go with my tall, iced Thai tea ($3.50). They not only complement each other in color, they both help to virtually transport me to the tropics. First, I was served a fresh side salad that had really crisp lettuce. And you know what really stood out to me? Not only was the lettuce fresh and crisp, it was in nice bite-sized pieces. None of those big floppy leafs that you have to maneuver into your mouth to avoid getting dressing all over the sides of your face. With nicely chopped celery, julienned carrots and purple cabbage, and a creamy, lightly sweetened dressing, it really got my attention that this was not some throwaway side dish. The kitchen obviously took pride in preparing and serving this normally mundane elsewhere side dish. The Salmon Mango Curry was a really enjoyable blend of flavors and textures. It is also a very colorful dish with its carrots, peas, red and green bell peppers, and large number of sliced mangoes. All of this was on top of a generous, pan-fried portion of salmon that was perfectly cooked. I also chose to have brown rice served on the side so that I could add it to the mango curry to assist in assuring that every drop of that delicious curry made it onto my fork and into my mouth. Service continues to be friendly, swift, and efficient. The cable easy-listening jazz music in the background is unobtrusive, allows for convenient table conversation, and makes for a very relaxing meal. I've decided that all of this is worthy of earning that final star!

    Pad See Ew with Chicken

I've been working the past few months to try one of my new favorite dishes, pad see ew, at Thai places across the Capital Region. Pinto Thai came recommended from a friend, so I recently got takeout to check it out. The dish had nicely cooked broad rice noodles with just the right texture (slightly chewy) and a nice wok char. There was a good ratio of meat and veggies and everything was flavorful. The chicken was nice and tender. My only slight critique is that the noodles were a little oversauced which made the dish a bit oily. But the flavors were good, and this is definitely in the top tier of 518 pad see ew dishes. I'm hoping to return to try some other menu items soon!

I've been meaning to stop by here since it's so close to my job and today's the day I finally did! I got the ginger noodles and ginger soup (there's no such thing as too much ginger) and both were pretty delicious. The veggies were really fresh and the flavors were there. I liked the quiet ambiance, despite a lot of tables being filled. I'd come back again!

You'll definitely see and hear everyone. It's all open and pretty squeezed together. It's not bad, you just need to be prepared. This isn't a fine dining restaurant. It's a really nice to go place that will also put the food on plates so you can stay and eat it inside. The sushi is generous and delicious. We like to sit at the bar and watch the guy make it right there. The drunken noodles and Spicy chicken pad Thai are good. I feel that the Rama garden is underwhelming. The chicken seems precooked and blah with a peanut sauce poured over it. Watch out if you order any dish as "spicy" they'll just dump crushed red pepper on your order after it's cooked. The staff are amazing. They're always happy, accommodating, and very attentive. It's really clear that they care. We go here a couple times per month. I've never been disappointed. You should go here too.

The food was average at best and sadly, it did not sit well in my stomach. Could have been the food, could have been me as I was not feeling my best throughout the weekend. I'll just give an average rating but will say, I don't think there is any other Asian places in town. So, if that's your craving- go for it.

Tamarind Thai in Latham is one of my favorite Thai restaurants!…read more There are several dishes that are already "accidentally vegan" meaning it is a plant-based meal that doesn't include any animal products like eggs, butter, dairy milk, seasoning or sauces made from seafood or mollusks. Their curry dishes are all accidentally vegan, and you can keep them vegan when you add a protein by choosing either steamed or fried tofu. The staff is so polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes and can help you customize your meals if you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant, or have any other food sensitivities. On this visit they were decorated for the holidays. Beautiful red, silver, and white balls hung from the ceiling, string lights, pine garland, and a flocked Christmas tree in the front window all made the restaurant cozy and inviting. I had the curry fried rice with spring rolls and unsweetened iced tea and my husband had the hot vegetables entree with white rice and a side of sticky rice.

Many people get take out from here which I will admit, we have done twice but we really enjoy dining in at the restaurant because it's fun. The staff is really nice and extremely helpful. When we say vegan they know what we mean which is difficult sometimes because a lot of people have misconceptions about what that entails. You have to think about what ingredients the noodles were made with, do they contain egg or not. What sauces are traditionally used, is it a fish sauce? Is something cooked with butter? So just saying no meat, eggs, or dairy doesn't always make people think about everything but this restaurant gets it. Also people ask well what about gluten? It has nothing to do with being vegan it is related to having celiac disease. Bottom line, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, they know what is in their food and they will tell you or offer suggestions to help you out. The spring rolls, the gyoza, the crazy noodle (drunken noodle), curry rice, fresh rolls, all of it has been good everytime we go. This review is long overdue, Tamarind is just so good if you need vegan or vegetarian options they have a lot of plant-based menu items. The unsweetened iced tea, that's my jam! Love it!
