Seated right away, cute and clean with nice staff. Went for brunch time on a weekday. Out of no where decided on a Mexican dish. It was surprisingly flavorful. To my taste refried beans needed a little salt, the Spanish rice was more Tex Mex kind of a taco seasoning flavoring with diced peppers. The two tacos had shredded beef, which was very flavorful and moist very good. The shells were a bit chewy for me but overall, I'd give it a seven out of 10 I'm Hispanic and I cook Mexican food that has been passed down from generations of Sonoran style, so I'm a bit picky. Drove down here for "breakfast for lunch" on my way to Caldwell for HS basketball tournaments a few weeks ago. The servers were nice and I ordered french toast, eggs, and a sausage patty. For the prices, they give you a LOT of food, way more than a chain restaurant. I was ticked off at IHOP and their pancakes that keep shrinking in size and keep rising in price. Janet's Cafe isn't doing that. Very popular with locals and seniors. Keep in mind of surcharges. Probably egg shortage-related. read more

Fresh, hot & delicious! There's a new breakfast and lunch spot in Eagle. The menu offers lots of options eggs, waffles, pancakes, omelets...even breakfast burritos and avocado toast. They offer espresso drinks too! In addition, Janet's Cafe serves lunch and desserts. I tried the Machaca and Eggs - fresh scrambled eggs with shredded beef, tomato, onions and bell peppers served with salsa and a choice of corn or flour tortillas. Served hot and delicious! The restaurant is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff is welcoming and efficient. Janet's Cafe is definitely worth a visit - open 7-2:30 daily. read more

It's been six months since I have been here. I have been 3 times total as I think I should give an establishment a chance if the service or food is less than stellar. The good: I like the decor and the counter seating is a good open seating option for those who don't want to wait. The bad: There is always a wait. All three times the wait has been at least 20 minutes. The food is okay, but not worth the wait. The prices are high. I leave full, but the cost is what a good dinner place would run. No thanks. The meh: The staff tries hard, I can tell. That being said, they ALWAYS seem stretched thin. The wait for food was not as bad as the wait to be seated, but a simple breakfast order should not take as long as it did...unless the kitchen is backed up. This place is okay, but branch out and look around. In my opinion there are better places with less of a wait and more reasonable prices. read more

The breakfasts at Janet's are very good. A little pricey but what is new. There isn't a breakfast place around that isn't overpriced. At least at Janet's the food is served hot and eggs are served as ordered. Their cottage potatoes are homemade, hot and fresh. Most places are selling cottage potatoes that come right out of a plastic bag. My server was very friendly and kept my coffee hot and full. The only negative aspect of the restaurant was the tv was tuned to a right wing propaganda station. No matter your politics a restaurant should be more discreet. Not sure if the owner is responsible or perhaps the manager? Either way it was an unnecessary element of the restaurant. I would give 5 stars if I didn't have to look past the fascist nonsense on the television. read more

Service was outstanding. I had corned beef hash with poached eggs perfectly well done. Yelp's information about their opening time is incorrect. It is 7am not 6:30 am. Fortunately, a waitress noticed me getting out of my truck at 6:35 and let me know of the correct opening hour. Shortly there after, she returned outside where I was waiting and offered to have myself and my out of town guest to wait inside the restaurant with coffee while the restaurant prepared for their 7 am opening. Beautiful interior, very nice staff. We were greeted promptly. Looking over the menu they have a lot to offer. I would suggest the menu to have more details regarding each dish. My husband ordered the pork chops, should be noted that it's cooked with herbs, and he disliked the flavor. If it was noted he would not have ordered it. The side of pancakes were great and a generous amount. I ordered the corned beef and hash, it says grilled. I should have known better and asked if it was shredded or the only other way to describe it is like cat food texture. But I didn't and it was like cat food. I wouldn't have ordered it. A bit disappointed, just someone's opinion. The service was good, sweet, but never came over to ask how our food was the entire time and when the bill came we told her about our experience. She offered to take care of the bill, which is not what we were going for, but since she offered we accepted. It's really cute and I hope this place does well! read more

Excellent food and service, with large portions for breakfast. However, there is one issue that bothers me. I order toast with my breakfast and more often than not, it doesn't come out until I'm half done with my breakfast. Delicious food and great service! I'm not a breakfast person so i can only speak to their lunches, but their salads are fresh and ample, and their wraps are amazing. My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken wrap, not too spicy. And if you can't decide between the fries and the onion rings ask for the 50/50 split l- half of each! read more

My only negative is that after 3 visits and asking for extra crispy hash browns and even sending them back... they are still white and anemic. So... order the fruit. We tried Janet's on a weekday for breakfast. The decor is beautiful, clean, and inviting. The staff froendly and helpful. The menu was extensive, and I can't wait to get back to try other dishes. We had the Italian sausage omelet with hash browns and the breakfast burrito with sausage. I chose bacon and homefries in my burrito. The burrito was served with a side of bean, which I opted not to have. The side of salsa was perfect for the burrito. The burrito was tasty and filling. Plenty for leftovers. The omelet was cooked perfectly with diced sausage and tomatoes. Glad to have a new local breakfast place and look forward to our next visit. read more

I met a friend here for lunch. The prices are a bit high, but the food was very good. I would give the kitchen 5 stars. I had the French Dip and my friend had the fish and chips special. We both thought our food was really good. We both asked for fry sauce when we placed our order. My friend asked again after our food was delivered for fry sauce. The server brought one order of fry sauce for my friend. I never received any and just gave up and shared with my friend. We had to ask for tartar sauce for the fish and chips. My friend asked for a to-go box and the sever left a small box for the fish, fries and coleslaw. When my friend asked for a separate box for the fish and fries to keep them from getting soggy from the coleslaw, the server picked up the one box and looked at her as if to say, I already gave you a box. It's almost impossible to get truly perfect poached eggs around here, yet I took a chance and ordered then. They arrived perfectly cooked...fresh and delicious. This is a must go to restaurant in Eagle. My family and I went due to reading other views on this place. We all ordered different food from breakfast to lunch orders. All of the food fantastic and you could taste the homemade quality food and taste the love with each bit. Definitely our new favorite breakfast and lunch place. Dinner too if they were open. The food awesome, atmosphere welcoming, super clean and decorated right out of a magazine. The service and staff very welcoming and friendly and attentive. Thank you for opening another great restaurant in Eagle. You can taste the difference compared to other breakfast restaurants in the area. You can taste the high quality of food and ingredients! OK, since the first thing we experience coming in the door is the ambience, I'll comment on that first. This is my first time in this restaurant that's been open approximately two months. As expected, it's exceptionally clean as everything is new, and the decor is relaxing and inviting. It's eclectic with a variety of signs and taxidermy items like an elk and what looks like a big trout or salmon, and some other stuff. It's quite whimsical and done well. The service was fantastic. The hostess at the front desk allowed us to sit anywhere we would like, a party of two, and there was a booth nearby so I began to make my way to that booth. She did point out, however, that the sun is exceptionally bright on one side, to which I acknowledged and found another location. I thanked her for the warning. She had a very pleasant personality. Food service was great and coffee refills came at regular intervals. The eggs were perfectly doneover easy. I asked for extra crispy hashbrowns and they were fairly crispy not extra crispy, but they were OK. The corned beef hash was from a can but very tasty. The server/hostess did comment before I ordered that the corned beef hash was from a can so there was no surprise there. I decided to order a side of gravy and OMG. The biscuit, which comes with the meal instead of toast, was the size of a Volkswagen, freshly made there, very dense. The gravy was not spectacular. It was literally a white gravy with pepper and not much flavor. I've had outstanding gravy at other nearby breakfast cafés and this did not compare in the least bit. Certainly not worth three dollars for half a cup of gravy side. There were plenty of condiments at the table too. Overall, the breakfast meal, corned beef hash and eggs over easy, did not stand out. The flavor was extremely mediocre with nothing special to write home about. I would've expected that the gravy, one of the best items to evaluate a breakfast eatery, would have something special to enhance the flavor, such as nutmeg or sage or something. Nothing. Extremely average and bland. So this simple corned, beef, hash and eggs with a side of gravy, and one coffee, was nearly $30 for one person. To be exact, it was $28.86. I have a family of five so this will not be a place that I will be bringing them for breakfast to the tune of $150 for a breakfast meal. I realize that our economy has declined and inflation is on the rise, but these prices are nearly double what you can find elsewhere for a much tastier meal. No, these other places might not be as clean, but they're still food safe and offer some outstanding food at a reasonable price. Overall, this café for me and my family is cost prohibitive at this time. I don't see myself returning as this seems to be a Café for the more economically advantaged people. At these prices, I don't see how this business is sustainable in this economy. The honeymoon period being what it is, usually 3 to 4 months, let's see how this goes. I wish the owner great success, and I will continue my pursuit for memorable breakfast eateries I can enjoy with my family. read more

My wife and I drove 45 minutes to get to Eagle to try out a restaurant we have not tried yet. When we arrived at Janet's there were a lot of cars and it was almost full inside. Good sign! The staff greeted us with a smile and assisted us to a seat immediately. The servers were busy, but someone else came up, greeted us at the table, provided menus and water, and took our drink order. Polite, attentive, and professional. Shortly after that, the waitress smiling and greeted us, took our order and answered all of our questions. As for service, it was an A+. The pricing of the food was a bit above average, but when it came out, the quantity and quality of the food fully justified the price and was a good value. Pricing, B, but value is A+. The food and recipes clearly were made with love! Everything was perfect! The freshness, and cooking were exceptional. Everything we ate was a clear step above average! Not just one item, but EVERY ITEM was stellar! While in all my years of eating out, I could not say it was the best in a single category, but a strong second place in every category! I have only had two restaurants in America that I could ever say that everything I ate was top notch! Not just the main dish. Food A across the board. Quality and quantity of food was impressive! Value? A+. The atmosphere was that of a busy diner, but good noise control, pleasant up to date furnishings that are well maintained. No sticky wet tables or dirty seats. EXCEPT, I went to separately buy one of their muffins which used to be this big beautiful banana nut muffin for about $3.50 (pricey). That muffin is now a much smaller version for $5.25. That was my last muffin purchase. Albertson's gives the same size muffin for $1.49. Human Bean gives a big thick banana bread slice for $3.75 Come on Janet's... that is ridiculous. We have eaten there at least half a dozen times. Food is good. Wait times just mean the place is popular, which is good. Prices are about right considering other options and with food costs going up. The one thing I have complaints about is that I have ordered toast with my breakfast meals and have yet to get the toast with my meal. It always comes late, like halfway through the meal, and yesterday it didn't come at all. Toast should come when the order comes out or the order isn't ready to go out yet. There seems to be a systemic problem with getting bread toasted and on a plate to go with a meal. I will have to begin with that each time I order again. read more

Absolutely LOVE this new spot! What a great addition to the community. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak for $17 which comes with the choice of hash browns, home fries or fresh fruit OR toast, a biscuit or side of pancakes. There's plenty of cheap options around, but the quality and the portion size are not there. I met Janet herself at the restaurant and she is literally there cooking in the kitchen - she is the SWEETEST person!
