You order off a kiosk in the front of the restaurant and seat yourself. You also have the option to make the breakfast burritos into a krunchwrap style like Taco Bell. A good breakfast burrito to me has tater tots in it and this place checked that off. The egg was nice and fluffy and they did not skimp on the meat. The creamy cilantro sauce was a nice addition that added to the burrito. Will be back in the future to satify any breakfast burritos into cravings. Side note: the parking is super small, only about 2 spaces and one disabled spot, unless there was another lot we were unaware of. But, street parking is plenty, especially in the morning. read more

I got the filet mignon burrito with chipotle aioli on the side. This time I also tried their caesar salad, and their chips and guac, both splendid! However, their caesar salad has corn bread instead of croutons that I couldn't really get behind.. but that's just me. Dined here for the first time on a Tuesday night. It wasn't too busy when I arrived and I also had reservations. We arrived at 7:00 pm and after reviewing the appetizing menu, at 7:15 pm our order was taken. My friend and I both ordered taco plates and sides of equites (corn) and guacamole. It took 45 minutes for us to get our guacamole and shortly after the food we ordered. The server apologized for the delay and mishap and gave us some complimentary Kale salad and Chicken Flautas. While it was unfortunate to feel momentarily hangry (hungry + upset) due to the long wait, the food was so yummy! My carnitas tacos were flavorful and tender and the guacamole was fresh and bright. Stopped by this place on a recent afternoon and tried the following items from the menu: the carnitas tacos, rockfish ceviche, guacamole, queso fundito, and potato and cheese taquitos. I really enjoyed everything I had. The rockfish was fresh. The carnitas tacos were packed with delicious guacamole. The queso fundido was incredibly cheesy and flavorful. My only disappointment with the queso fundido was that it didn't come with tortillas. I'm used to eating queso fundido with tortillas, not tortilla chips. While the food was outstanding, the service was mediocre. By the entrance to the restaurant, there was a sign that instructed us to seat ourselves. Great. No issues there. We helped ourselves to a table. A gentleman immediately greeted us and provided us our menus. No issues there either. The problems began from this point forward. The server dropped off the menus and walked away. My wife and I started looking over our menus and started discussing what we were going to order. I told her I was going to order the huevos rancheros. We knew something was off when she told me she didn't see that on the menu. Turns out I got the brunch menu while she got the lunch menu. Figuring that I got the brunch menu by accident (and it turns out I did), I looked over my wife's menu when she was done with it. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't try out their huevos rancheros. However, the menu snafu was not my biggest issue with the service. It was our server. After we got the menus, we were waiting for a while for him to return to take our orders. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy. There was only one other table with a party of four in the entire restaurant. Once the orders were placed, everything came out incredibly quick. Not going to give our server any credit for this, however, since another dude who I'm assuming was the busboy, brought out the food. To his credit, our server did stop by to check up on us and tell us if we wanted extra tortilla chips, to let him know. Too bad this was the only time he stopped by. He went MIA until we were way passed done eating and just waiting for him to give us our bill. At some point in our meal, we did want more chips for the queso fundido. I also wanted another pineapple agua frescas too. But the guy was no where to be found. I would have easily given this place a 5 star rating if I was only assessing their food. The service, however, was so underwhelming that I debated giving this place 3 stars. Super cute restaurant with outdoorish seating as well as a fully stocked bar. We went on taco Tuesday and enjoyed some happy hour items and very good margaritas. We ordered a spicy habanero margarita extra spicy and they delivered! It was just the right amount of heat. We also had the potato tacos, mushroom tacos and guacamole and chips along with a variety of salsas. The salsa ranged from charred and mild to spicy with a hit of Chile de arbol. First off, the food was delicious. Let's get that out of the way. My sister and I split the pork shank, which arrived in full Fred Flintstone fashion, an enormous, prehistoric-looking masterpiece perched on a cloud of creamy goodness. It was perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and somehow managed to stay juicy despite its cartoon-sized proportions. By the end of the meal, all that remained was a lonely bone and a plate that looked like it had been licked clean by wolves. The tamales were next-level smooth, cheesy corn perfection. The potato taquitos were ridiculously good, and adding the extra chunky guacamole took everything up another notch. The atmosphere deserves a shout-out too. The restaurant had a lively energy without feeling chaotic, great music playing throughout, and giant photos of women in Día de los Muertos makeup adorning the walls. My daughter was absolutely fascinated by them and spent half the meal studying each one like she was visiting an art gallery. But as great as the food was, the real stars were the staff. Our four- and six-year-old absolutely destroyed our table. They changed their food orders twice after the food had already arrived. They changed their drinks almost as often. They crawled under the table. They terrorized nearby tables. By the end of the meal, the table looked like a tiny food-based natural disaster had occurred. There were straws stuck into refried beans, kinetic sand mixed into drinks, salsa where salsa should never be, and enough general mayhem to qualify for federal disaster relief. The staff didn't blink once. When my son suddenly decided his burrito was unacceptable and he needed tacos immediately, complete with a full meltdown, the expeditor knelt down and calmly asked, "Would you like tacos? What would you like in them? No problem, I can do that for you."He let us keep the burrito (which became lunch the next day), and five minutes later fresh tacos appeared. Our waitress was equally incredible. When my daughter decided orange juice was no longer acceptable and demanded a Shirley Temple instead, she didn't bat an eyelash. She simply smiled, made it happen, and continued delivering impeccable service. Great food gets you in the door. Service like this makes you a customer for life. A++ all around. read more

First time trying this place with friends from the area and we all said we would go back! Our server Ana was delightful, fun and very professional. We started with margaritas, 2 Cadillacs for my friends, and I got the spicy skinny passionfruit with less of the juice to make it more to my taste. We loved the presentation of the Cadillac margaritas with a mini grand marnier bottle upside down in the drink! We all shared the regular guacamole and we tasted an assortment of the tacos (you may mix 2 types in one order). I got the beef cheek birria and the mushroom, and tasted the shrimp. They were all good on corn tortillas and the extra habenero sauce on the side we requested added a great kick. I didn't love the mushroom choice, but it wasn't bad, just a bit bland. The shrimp were tiny and heavily dressed in a crema, not my preference at all. Downtown El Segundo is always fun to visit and we went on a gorgeous day, so everyone was eating on the patio. Service was excellent, the restaurant was cute, and the horchata latte was delicious! The bartender made my latte for me and was very attentive. We got the birria burrito and the filet mignon burrito. Apparently, they just raised the prices on their burritos, but I think it was overall a reasonable price for the size and quantity of meat. The side sauces were also super yummy. While the ambience is "upscale taqueria" with a nice bar and a nice patio, the music was a bit too loud for comfort or to have a conversation. The staff saved the experience. They were attentive and kind--especially helpful since my dining guest was 55 minutes late. Unfortunately, the service is the only reason this place gets any stars, because the food was beyond mediocre. The food was a series of disappointments, starting with the $9 "Happy Hour" guacamole, which was a textbook case of shrinkflation--a tiny, sample-sized portion that completely lacked seasoning. The drinks didn't fare much better, as the $9 Pepino Aqua Fresca was aggressively sweet, though my guest did enjoy her $18 mojito. As for the main event, the $22 Carnitas Tacos were remarkably bland, served on tortillas that felt chewy and cardboard-like. Altogether, the meal felt like a pricey, fast-casual imitation of Mexican food that simply didn't justify the cost. At these prices, the value just isn't there. You can get a Michelin-level meal at Holbox or authentic, flavorful gems at Sonoratown, Leo's, or Taco Social for a fraction of the cost. Save your money. The restaurant is tastefully decorated (though not sure what the need was for, what looked to me like, AI artwork near the bathroom), and service was on point, but the food missed the mark. Salsa flight felt a bit bland. Guac could've used a bit more lime for brightness, and the chili crunch topping wasn't chili-y or very crunchy. My shrimp gobernador tacos were the most disappointing dish of the night. Shrimp was minuscule and translucent. I thought the shrimp would be bigger and have some char from cooking or more flavor. Cheese skirt didn't really contribute much. Pico de gallo and other accoutrements were also under seasoned. I'm a bit let down but would consider coming back to try some of the other meat entrees or the breakfast burrito. read more

I've tried at least 5-10 breakfast burritos in the South Bay and recently got to try two from ¡Jaime! Taqueria this past week. I can confidently say they were some of the best breakfast burritos I've had all year and they don't break the bank. I do enjoy the Baran's breakfast burrito from Tigres Fuego, but it's definitely not as economical and you can't customize the burritos. I feel like Jaime Taqueria's breakfast burritos standout for a couple reasons - avocado in every burrito, a generous portion of meat, and $12-15 price points. I've only been once, but I definitely will keep coming back even though it's a little farther from me. Ordering and pickup was a breeze too through the online Toast app. Breakfast burritos: - Birria breakfast burrito - both burritos were packed with a lot of meat, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The birria was flavorful and pretty soft as well, sometimes birria meat can be tough but I heard they use the beef cheek. The eggs in these burritos are heavenly - a soft-scramble with so much flavor. I also love how they grill the cheese on the outside too. - Carnitas breakfast burrito - Carnitas was similarly delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. I can't decide which one I like better, but I am partial to carnitas in general. They do a great job of packing the burrito so you get a little bit of everything in each bite instead of having one ingredient stuck on one side. Salsas: - Cilantro Crema - I watched a video and heard this one was the best sauce. It definitely did not disappoint! A good kick but also very creamy. This is the sister restaurant to Jame Enoteca, so I had to try its take on Mexican food! I really love this spot and its menu is so good! Everything on the menu is really great, but I'm partial to the breakfast burritos and the sweet corn tamales, which I get every time I'm there. Hands down, this is my favorite thing on the menu and such a must-try. If you pick anything to get at Jaime, get this. If you have a group and they love spicy stuff, highly recommend the Chef's Salsa bar so you can try all the spicy sauces with chips. We came here for Sunday brunch. I had been wanting to try this place since it opened and we finally made it. We sat in the corner on the patio, shortly after noon and the sun was at the perfect angle. The glass windows help block the wind, while the plants protect from direct sun, creating this lovely atmosphere to sit and enjoy a great meal with great conversations. The hostess, and overall service, is exceptional. Very warm, inviting with great recommendations for food and beverages. But we did love the amount of avocado in all of the burritos and the cheese on the outside of it. The carnitas one was a little dry, but the amount of meat was really good. The birria one was out favorite and we loved the consome it came with! Of the sauces they came with the cilantro crema and habanero salsa were our favorites, very flavorful. This rating is for their customer service (or lack there of). We really wanted Jaime Taqueria to be our neighborhood go-to spot. We live right down the road in El Segundo and were excited to have a local restaurant where we could grab a quick drink and bite to eat. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere is fun, and we've generally enjoyed the service in the past. Unfortunately, our last visit completely changed our opinion. We ordered Cadillac margaritas that were clearly listed on the menu for $20 each. We had two rounds, and when the bill arrived, we were shocked to see we had been charged $30 per margarita instead. When we questioned the charge, the bartender offered no explanation and no apology. He simply took $4 off each drink, which still left us paying significantly more than the advertised menu price. At no point did anyone explain why a $20 margarita suddenly became a $30 margarita. What was even more disappointing was the lack of follow-up. I called twice hoping to speak with a manager and discuss what happened. Neither call was returned. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance and wanted to support a local business. But being overcharged, receiving no explanation, and then being ignored by management is not acceptable. Customer service matters, especially when there is a billing issue. We wanted this to be our regular neighborhood spot, but after this experience, we won't be returning. read more

Spectacular Breakfast Burrito I'm in the LAX area 2-3 times/month for breakfast and have been loyal to Eat Fantastic Cafe for years. This place is now added to the list of reliable Breakfast options near the airport. From 8-11am its takeout only with a limited menu but the place looks like a perfect date option. I had pretty high expectations for this taqueria since the prices on the menu are on the higher side and I'm happy to report that they did not disappoint! I came here on Taco Tuesday with a fellow Yelper as we both had this place on our list of places to try. We didn't have a reservation but were seated right away. There's outside as well as indoor seating. It's a very fun and lively atmosphere-colorful walks and artwork. Back to the food, we decided to try every taco on the Taco Tuesday menu (price varies depending on the taco) and the guacamole flight ($24) I was excited to see there were different types of guacamole and that we can taste them all. Three types of guacamole came in the flight and each had a distinct flavor profile. The three flavors that came in the guacamole trio were Jaime, Crunchy, and Maizena. Jaime was very cheese-forward and zesty, this was my favorite. Crunchy had a smoky flavor, and Maizena had some fun crunchy corn toppings. The amount of guacamole that came in the trio was a little on the smaller side. As mentioned earlier, we got each of the eight tacos on the Taco Tuesday menu to share. Each taco was presented very beautifully and they each tasted like a lot of thought was put into the presentation and the flavors. My favorite was beef cheek quesabirria but the Baja fish, shrimp, and surprisingly the chicken were all a close second. Chicken tacos normally don't sound appealing to me but our super sweet server mentioned it was really popular and you can tell why. The marinade was bright and flavorful. Although we were both quite full, we couldn't leave without trying some dessert. We ordered the dulce de leche cake and it was just the right amount of sweet and such a nice way to end the evening. I forget the name of our server, but she was awesome! Back to the food. The guacamole trio was great! So many fun combos: Parmesan, black garlic chili (my fave), sweet and crunchy corn, all served with tortilla chips. We ordered one of each taco and split it so we could them all. My husband and I had such a great time at Jaime! Johnny and Adrian have such amazing staff. They were super attentive. We love going and getting the queso fundido. Do not skip out on that. This is an update to the review I wrote a year ago. The food was excellent. My wife had the caesar salad which she enjoyed. I had the shrimp gobernador tacos which were excellent. I chose the side of rice, which was amazing. I expected typical Spanish rice, but theirs included something crunchy and spicy. Next time I'll order just a few sides of rice! Their standard Margarita did not disappoint. The service when it came was excellent, but it is still slow after a year. This is why I downgraded the overall rating from 5 stars to 4. The bartender doubled as our waiter. It took a while to get our drinks. They came moments before the food. On the positive side, the entire staff was charming. The ambiance was lively, even after the normal lunch hour. I can't imagine what the noise would be like at dinner. It's hardly a place you would go to for an intimate conversation, but that seems to be the trend in most restaurants today. I expected the staffing to have increased from last year, but that doesn't seem to have happened. A short term fix would be to bring free chips and salsa as we sat down and waited for our drinks.. After reading the good reviews I thought I'd try the restaurant after having a nearby massage. It's late afternoon and place had one customer at the bar. Ordered 2 burritos...one egg and cheese and a carnitas plus a side of street corn. Burritos were very large and tasty but it took a little while to get the corn. Server didn't once check on us. Came in for the filet mignon burrito , filet mignon was overcooked and scarce and the melted cheese on the outside was minimal and lacked flavor. The entire burrito missed the bar for me. Definitely over hyped We had other options that deserve mention the chips and salsa options 5 stars I think we got 4 salsas which all were flavorful and different, tasted homemade and delicious Honorable mention to The first drop coffee also 5stars Would return for drinks and chips and salsa for sure read more

Cinco de Mayo 2025... Not sure why all the lame reviews lately, but I loved my visit - and on Cinco De Mayo!!! Reservation for 3 at 6PM - BINGO! No wait, no drama, seated immediately. Special shout to Jaelynn our server, she was outstanding! FAST, friendly and efficient. Cool vibe to the restaurant, it's small but stylish. I found the food beautifully presented, delicious and filling. I tried a trio of tacos - filet mignon, chicken and shrimp - all scrumptious. The potato & cheese taquitos were a standout - we ordered a second plate. Chips and salsa/sauce collection (4) - excellent. Wash it all down with a margarita or a local Mayberry IPA and you're livin' grande! Again, I'm dumbfounded by the lousy Yelp reviews, I loved Jaime Taqueria. 5 stars read more

Eat the queso and eat some more. That could have been my whole dinner. We all had the great tacos--think we tried both beef, the carnitas, the shrimp and fish. Really good. Also had a corn side and avocado corn side. Different! Really good. Nice server. Cool patio space with appropriate heat for November. We all left super full and satisfied. read more

Came here for dinner before our Suns vs. Clippers game. We were immediately seated since we were able to make reservations. Our server immediately greeted us upon sitting and then followed up with taking our food order. He was friendly and checked on us regularly and even gave me an opportunity try/taste their habanero salsa. We started off with their guacamole topped with garlic chili oil, which i thought was a unique fusion of flavors. We also order their sweet corn esquites (street corn) for the table. I tried 2 of their tacos (filet minon & beef cheek). Everything came out fairly quickly upon ordering and all the food was prepared & seasoned properly. The meat was tender too. This is a fairly good size venue with outside seating. I would definitely come back to try other offerings. read more

Went out looking for a new neighborhood Mexican restaurant as our old standby, La Paz, had closed. Literally stumbled upon Jaime Taqueria as we were cruising around El Segundo. Glad we did. The restaurant was about 50% full and diners looked like they were enjoying themselves. We were seated quickly and our server Dino came up and greeted us. Service was very attentive; he checked in on us at least 4 times during our meal. Ambiance was nice, not your kitschy mom and pop Mexican, but more neighborhood backyard feeling. Food was good and there were abundant choices beyond just tacos. You have to have the freshly made chips and guacamole. We each chose 3 different tacos and all were delicious. I'm glad we didn't order the LA Restaurant week menu as that would have been too much food for us. Good beer and cocktail selection. New favorite for casual Mexican. read more

I have to say I was disappointed. We were excited to go because it's the latest from a great semi chain of restaurants (jame is down the street serving pasta), but we will not be back. My taco order came out wrong. When I asked for tapatío, they said they don't have any so they'll bring me habanero sauce.... And then promptly charged me $2 extra for it (if you're going to charge for condiments you have to say something ahead of time). I had a huge stomach ache after the tacos. Service was good. Ambiance was weird but great if you're a dude into busty ladies. Overall, not coming back. read more
