Came here for lunch while on a work trip to see what was around. Cool little spot, waitress was a little strange but cool. Food was great, we sat outside and watch everyone pass by buy. Drinks were solid as well.

This was an awesome time all around. Our waitress, Veronica was great. The food was on point and the place had a great vibe. The music topped the night off. Definitely will return here again.

Always hoping and full. Decent happy hour. Pub fare. Good spot for a pint and for people watching. Patio overlooks main street of downtown MB.

I had a party arranged in the upstairs room at Hennessey's on a Saturday night. It was a fun vibe and very lively. Rachel helped us out and Helen was a great server. Our party had a good time and it was chill enough to have conversations. It was a pretty large space that holds about 40 people so it was a mix of tables and standing room. We weren't aware but heads up that checks need to be on one bill and auto gratuity is 20% for large parties.

When visiting this area I had to come here for nostalgia purposes! Once upon a time I came here a lot! It hasn't lost its fun vibes. An Irish vibes pub/ restaurant. Super friendly atmosphere and service. I had the watermelon margarita because I love margaritas and I love watermelon. It had tajin on the rim and was super refreshing. Can't visit Hennessey's without a black and tan! The crispy calamari wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable. It was very crispy pieces of what was supposed to be calamari. No taste at all. But add the lettuce it was on, the three sauces and a squeeze of lemon with a dash of salt and it was a light snack. Not greasy at all which is what fried calamari usually ends up being. Parking in Manhattan beach is a pain. Be patient, drive around and the beautiful sunshine. Plenty of cool air conditioning makes this a fun spot to beat the heat. A tad pricey but oh well. It's Manhattan Beach. Other items coming out of the kitchen looked good. And they have happy hour options as well. Enjoy your life!! SYOY!

We came for happy hour and had the hawaiin ritas! Soooo delish. The food was excellent and came out in under 5 minutes! Overall a great experience and everyone who works here has a great attitude! We'll be back to try more happy hour specials :)

We came on a Sunday evening and the place seemed rowdy outside but inside it was actually nice not rowdy with enough seating areas and a few TVs to watch sports. Our server was very attentive and patient with us , he described the different burgers to us. Our food was pleasantly delicious, which are the two burgers I posted. My boyfriend ordered the sweet potato fries, which were very good and I ordered the regular fries. The calamari was okay, it came with three different sauces which was nice.

(**UPDATED on Friday 3/21/25** For the owner Paul) *If your response is true and the employees weren't the one's to call me an asshole/profiled/stereotyped me that night then this comment is for ALL THE "PEOPLE" PRESENT DURING THIS ODD EVENT INCLUDING THE SERVER that manipulated the situation. That night I was completely sober & clearly remember the server along your so called witnesses suggesting that I was being the one to cause a problem for myself by asking her to give me phone first, before doing what she "says" to get my personal property back. Which makes no sense after properly tipping her and respectfully dining at the restaurant as a returning customer.. I shouldn't have been forced to clean up the floor in order to get my iphone back in the first place I don't really see why you mentioned giving my iphone back when it's not yours or the restaurants to keep in this type of situation. Right or Wrong Paul's yelp response is genuinely not accurate and kind of a reflection of why the situation was handled by petty ways.

    $7 Smashburger Thursday!
    Veronica L.

Tried their $7 Smash Burger. Omitted bacon but added Lettuce, Tomato, & Pickle + lots of ketchup & Mayo. I've been on a burger bender this past week oddly, as I really do not eat much red meat. Their Smash Burger hit all the right notes. It was hearty, very flavorful, juicy, & filling! Served w/ just enough fries. Excited to return next Thurs to repeat! Very friendly service. Helen is super attentive, warm, & friendly. Ambiance is pub-like. We enjoy sitting outside, so it's lovely. Will be back!

Stopped by after our walk on the beach. We were actually on our way to another location when we saw this one and liked the vibe so we decided to stop. Our waitress was was super cool and answered all of our questions. I had the espresso martini, which was one of the best that I have ever had. We had a burger and the fish and chips and the burger was good but the fish and chips were amazing. The waitress told me that they had just changed their recipe and, it was fire. The place is open area has cool little things for you to read all around just a straight up like cool vibe for getting something to eat having a drink and watching.

I always walk by here and have been wanting to try the burger of the month. I finally got a chance to try a burger here and I wasn't disappointed. The burger was juicy and the onion rings were crispy and delicious. Great place to eat and have a drink, especially with the happy hour deals.

Surprised by how yummy their burgers & fries were. i wasn't expecting much from a bar with bar food, but it was so delicious. Even my daughter ate her whole burger. I'll definitely be going back! The service was excellent, very efficient. It's a decent environment too, nice on the patio with the chandeliers & good for people watching.

Drink specials are not every Saturday and Sunday like they say.
    Katherine N.

This is one of the easiest places to eat in Manhattan Beach, you can almost always get a table and services is fairly friendly. The bacon blue cheeseburger is amazing. It's pub food. The drinks are on the small size especially if you get a greyhound. Be aware that, even though their menu online says they have drink specials, those don't count on holidays, especially St. Patrick's Day. We went here specifically for the mimosas on St. Patrick's Day with a whole bunch of men who were drinking beer and they informed us their mimosas were double price. I still think you owe me a 50% refund!

I believe that Holiday's matter, not as days that drive chocolate and flower sales, but as…read morereminders that whimsy should be celebrated to make life a bit more colorful and joyous. Scrooge might say "Bah! Humbug!" to festivities but, in other hand, say "hab gubmuh" to the days and seasons that bring mirth, hanging streamers and disco balls into our life, lest these be left in grayscale. That is why I was attracted to this bar because I wanted to know be drenched in red and pink glamour while all the way celebrating that very special feeling of love. As, soon I entered the door and saw the exaggerated decorations on the roof and on the walls, my immediate thought was "fun," not corny, or please with these hanging hearts and neon lights. Thus this place owns the trip to love land without apology, and I for one, say that this means that the festive goal hoped for hit heart center. I also went relatively early, in terms of bar crowd hours, and was surprised that the place was full to its arteries. Truth be told, that is why, I ticked one star of my overall rating because this place is cute and a vibe, and a worthy scene, but it is also small and packed to the point where folks are proverbial sardines in a tin can. But more on that later, right now, we start with what gave me anchor in place: their pool table. There is no place to sit, amidst the crowd, I automatically assessed. Where can I be to find my place? So I went to the table and played pool. I appreciated that the place had clearly articulated rules and procedures for play, which removed ambiguity and created a climate of respect toward the game, which allows for pool games where appropriate and competitive game play reigns. I managed to order a drink on theme for the night: a Misty Kiss. It was the bartender's suggestion, after I asked for their sweetest cocktail. When she first suggested it, I thought she said minty kiss, and thus when she delivered the drink, I was expecting some kind of shamrock shade. But then I heard the appropriate pronunciation- misty, not minty. I wondered when a literal misty kiss would be appropriate and beautiful? Then I remember scanning a picture book of love pictures, and one was of a woman saying goodbye to her sailor as he shipped of to fight in a world war, and I realized that the sadness in her eyes as she said goodbye was a form of a misty kiss. I took my Misty Kiss and played a game of pool with a guy named Matt. He revealed that he played every day, which explained why I did not stand a chance against a daily player, balance in talent simply did not exist. It was hard to find a spot to place my drink, which tasted swell, and was on brand for the evening, and quite stiff! It was hard to find a seat or a spot for me to call my own. And it was for others as well. I saw people going to the bathroom and needing to allocate themselves in near hunches to avoid the sticks of pool. And out in the crowd, people were huddled on the floor, not sure where to be so they could feel like they had a space of their own and did not bump with others. But there was no way to avoid bumping into others, and it was a mission to find a spot. That is why when I saw a table for two open up, I did a mad dash to an empty chair, like a fool in love who rushes in. It is at the chair where I could not only see but stop and admire the paper roses of the place. As my pictures show, the place truly did not limit itself from embracing the spirit of Valentine's day. For instance, they had this wall of decorations, with hearts, orbs (white, red, pink) teddy bears, and so much more; it was a tapestry hung just right for the occasion. Of course, people wanted to use the wall as the backdrop but with so many people, this too, required a wait and navigate plan. I did help some folks out by taking their pictures. I was not Cupid but in these moments I did hope that my aim was true. In the final analysis, I immensely appreciated the decorations, and all of the folks who dressed for the occasion, because it gave texture and meaning to the decor. But the tight quarters limited the love I can give to this place. However, I do know now where to go, where I want a themed drink, and environment to boot.

Cupid aka Courtney was shooting arrows and slinging shots behind the bar with style and serving up some love with this months "Cupids Cocktails" menu. All the locals could be found in for a session. They once again out did themselves with the cutest decor. My one suggestion would be to get the jukebox playing all the love songs (from power ballads to cheesy fun sing along ones) to nail the vibe. They've got a pool table to shoot your own shots too! Parking can be rough but do yourself a favor and everyone else and Uber. Loving all the holidays here! great job Paddy O's and staff!

We are rarely in the area, but since we had some errands to take care of that led us to be in the nearby, and we didn't know what to eat, then my wife said how about some fish and chips from a different place, then it hit me that I had this place bookmarked and saved for some time now, and now was the perfect time. We came there and parked in the public parking building that was free. We came inside and there was a party of two in front of us waiting. The waiter, seemed to be the only one, came by and said hi to everyone and his thanks for our patience and wait. He later came by and took them to their seats. They requested outside, and the took them. We waited a few more minutes, then it was our turn and he was ready to lead us to our seats, but we asked for outside as well. He asked us to give him a few minutes to clean up a table for us. After so, he sat us and gave us menus. The service is good, considering he is the only one, but he moves about pretty quickly and still giving everyone his all. The table was pretty nasty. It was sticky. But we wiped it down and proceeded onto our night. We ended up ordering the two piece fish and chips and their pub burger with no cheese as my wife is lactose intolerant. People really need to realize that smoking is smoking, it does not mean that vaping is ok. Respect others by keep that to yourself, especially in a restaurant. The food came out pretty fast, and very hot and fresh. One of the fish was perfect and crispy, the second pieces was lacking. It was soggy and not fried long enough. The fish itself was great. It had a nice texture, firmness, and lightly salted. The batter was bland and could use some salt. However, eating it with the tartar sauce was amazing. The tartar sauce is perfection. Definitely a good fish and chips combo when consuming with the tartar. The steak fries were perfect. The burger was completely lacking. I thought it should be sent back. The idea was ok, but the execution was wrong. The burger was overcooked, way too overcooked. If it was cooked correctly, it would have been a great burger. The onion rings are great though. Great flavor, great batter, good frying. Overall, the waiter made the experience good because he was on top of it. The food was ok, as there are things that would make it better. But if you have never been here, definitely come try it. Remember, the atmosphere is still a pub, not a family type restaurant, but is ok for a family to come here as well.

What made this bar cool is Sandra, la Reina de Moctezuma as she refers to herself. Breezy, lively, nonchalante, a bit coquettish to the "right guy", socially charming to her other guests. She creates her own story line to create her aura & drama. Author John Rechy, if he were straight, would have featured Miz Sandra in one of his novels like the City of Night. Ordered a pint of Guinness & Harp combination, but I didn't call it a "black & tan" in an Irish pub for historical reasons. But Sandra told me they don't have Harp, and suggested I do a Snake Bite instead which is half Guinness & Hard Cider. I opted for just Guinness since I wasn't in an experimental mood. Later, she was kind enough to let me sample a shot of the Strong Bow Hard Cider which was smooth, sweet, acidic with actual sour apple flavour. Next time I'll have to order the Snake Bite. Don't know how exactly Irish Sly Fox is with its grunge-garage rock music. But it's a good, unpretentious, local hang out. AT THE INTERSECTION OF REGRET AND REMORSE…read more At what point does a cover charge become just a discrete way of saying "you're not welcome, only tolerated"? Nothing humbles you faster than paying a $40 daytime 'cover charge' to sit uncomfortably with alchy-bros and their untreated mental health issues. We came to this Irish Tavern because...well... St. Patricks Day. The bouncer wouldn't let us in until we paid the extortion. It's no wonder millennials are broke. I didn't really wanna pay, but we found such a great parking spot... He took my cash and stuffed it in his pocket. For $40, we assumed something legendary was awaiting us inside. Is Cillian Murphy here? Or maybe a Glen Hansard cover band.? At the very least a Conan O'Brien blowup doll? Nope... just canned music playing over speakers that crackled like grandpa's radio. So there's no band... But, for $40 there better be at least something I haven't seen before. Perhaps they've summoned St. Patrick from the dead? Or figured out how to make everyone's red flags visually appear. Or how to uncrack an egg... Something! But nope, it was just like a regular day that wasn't $40 to get in. And here's the thing: the food and drink are ALSO more expensive than usual! So they already fleeced me for $40, and now two drinks are also $40? Two corned beef plates: another $50!? It was average to below average. It was like they took every Irish Tavern in the world, put 'em all in a blender, and hit puree. It was just... easy-to-chew mediocrity. Honestly, I've been to better pubs at Holiday Inn. As we walked out, the same bouncer was still collecting his shakedown fees. But this time the cover charge was only $10. Only 45 minutes later, the cover charge for the privilege of... well nothing... lowered exponentially!?! This isn't an Irish tavern, this is a scam with a jukebox. Pro tip: I've paid $40 for many things. A glow-in-the-dark toilet seat. A Texas-shaped waffle maker. A desktop punching bag for when Yelp takes down my reviews. But I'd rather pay $40 to NOT go to a mediocre Irish bar. Next year, I'm staying home to enjoy a $3 Guinness in my garage. No cover. Curated playlist. Parking's up front. Just me, my red flags, and zero regret.

A short walk away from the aquarium, shoreline village and pine st.

It's been almost 20 years since we've been coming to the Auld Dubliner (aka the auld Dub). When we…read morefirst heard the rumblings that the infamous Irish Pub Company was building a new Irish local, we couldn't wait for its opening. And since we first walked through the doors, we were in love. In love with the atmosphere, the perfectly pulled pints, the food (Dear God the Corned Beef Sandwich is a religious experience! ) and the characters of the staff. We've spent many occasions and life's moments here as well, From birthday dinners to at one time making it out Sunday Supper place to catch a traditional set and our dinner. The Sunday musicians are so good back in 2012 we hired a few to play at our engagement party, and brought a bit of the Auld Dub into our home. Today was no different, popped In for a family birthday celebration and stayed for a Sunday set. The music was fabulous the food amazing and the staff excellent! Ordered the usual: Curry Chips (cooked extra Well Done), and the best corned beef sandwich this side of the Atlantic! It's served perfectly on a crunchy swirled rye bread with an amazing apple jam of apples and caramelized onions. Just excellent! We also ordered an Irish Full Breakfast, which my soul craves every now and then! Basically you can't go wrong eating here.

Our server was great, very quick to get our drinks and put our order in. When our food came out all I said was "WOWZERS" the tenders were a very big portion and you can def share and they come with fries. Their onion rings were good but I keep going back for the fries instead. I did love that they had their own ranch and dips they were both great. We also got an order of their distracts and those were my favorite and will probably get them again, delicious, crispy and their salsa was really good and flavorful. Loved that the tortilla was crunchy usually they are soggy in other places and the topping usually fall out but these were 10/10. The ambiance was a mix of people but it's basically a super neat Bar with Great foot by the Pier/ Beach and has been there for many years. There's a lot of history in the walls and it's super neat that they've kept the place looking like this. There's bathrooms were a bit funky but did the job when you gotta go. They were clean tho. Def would be back to hang here with friends and catch a game. I highly recommend the Tenders!!
