Had breakfast with a friend during the week and it was such an amazing view of the beach/pier. The food was good, I got avocado toast but I felt like it was kind of lacking in the avocado department. I only got one slice of bread and it didn't look like the photo on their online menu. When it came out my friend asked me if I'd gotten the wrong order lol I still thought the food was good and they accommodated substitutions. I tried Irish bacon for the first time. Called in to see if the kitchen was open at like 10:20 to come in with some friends for food. Came in and they checked our ids and couldn't even tell if they were fake or not so just let us in. (They were real we just had a friend from out of state). We were directed to an area rather than a table. We waited like 10 minutes and no server showed up or greeted us. I went to the bar to ask if there were servers and he said there were. Got a beer and pounded the whole thing and still no service so we just left. Pretty disappointed. I'm a server myself and there's really no excuse for that kind of service, especially after letting the bartender know we haven't been checked on. Back in the day I used to do security here, so when I say I can feel the pain of the guards, the staff and God only knows anyone else who has to deal with drunken people......I can relate. Trust me! That said, got here right about when things began to crack and get loose. Now that can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. But I don't need a translator when I say crack and get loose! If you're in Redondo Beach, do yourself a favor and stop by Hennessy's Tavern. This was one of the most genuinely enjoyable experiences I've had in years. Taylor (pretty sure that was his name) is a stuntman who bartends on the weekends--and his hospitality is next level. Easily one of the friendliest, most welcoming people I've come across in a long time. He made the whole place feel like home from the second I sat down. Food was solid, beer was ice cold and perfect, and the overall vibe just hit. Ended up capturing one of the best videos I've ever made there--had my dog with me, wasn't even planning on posting anything, but the moment was too good not to. Haven't been here in over 20 years... Got the old seating/view from my first date with my partner back in the days who I'm still with today! The view is amazing! The second floor up top is small but pretty cozy. They have small tvs for sports.. a decent amount of tables, and a bar up there. Got the plant-based burger, some onion rings.. it was pretty good. Our server was also friendly. She made sure we got moved quickly to the seat we wanted. She also provided everything we asked for. Overall, had a great time. This is my favorite place to go in Hermosa Beach for one thing, the view! Their food is pretty delicious as well, but you can't beat the view of the beach and the ocean from the upstairs patio, just fantastic! We came on a Tuesday, so took advantage of the two for Tuesday burger deal, which is a really good one by the way, and got the Irishman and the cowboy up burgers, both were really good, but I think the Irishman was my favorite. What a beautiful restaurant with spectacular views! Came in on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and was seated right away on the upper floor for those views of the beautiful blue ocean. Sarah was our server and she took excellent care of us. Cute little bar on the third floor as well as the first floor. A lot of seating choices everywhere in the restaurant. My skinny margarita was nice and cold and refreshing and made perfectly. I had to order the two timin' Tuesday's with the buy one burger and get one free. They've got some very unique delicious burgers. I enjoyed the Irishman and the Frisco burger, and they were both perfectly cooked & served medium, and with all the toppings and sauces were very satisfying and flavorful. While the menu didn't venture far from bar food norms, the burger I had was tasted fresh. The waitstaff was extremely hospitable and friendly. Came here excited to go to an Irish bar for St. Patricks Day during our vacation. Paid for an Uber. They were supposed to be celebrating 50 years. First thing to get in we had to pay a five dollar cover to go inside to have dinner for myself and my husband. We were not seated had to find a table upstairs in our own. There was no drink menu which was very disappointing to start with. Next, we wanted the corn beef and cabbage dinner they had been advertising in Facebook and Instagram. Now they tell us they are out. How do they run out of this on the holiday with all the advertising they did? So I settle for a French dip sandwich. The sandwich was so gross I gave half to my husband because it was making me feel sick and the dip was a light brown onion soup or something not good. The side with that was some dry potato chips with zero flavor. When we were done we waited a very long time to pay until the manager came over and asked us if we had been taken care of. I didn't want to complain and we paid 80$ for a crappy dinner and left. I have never had to pay a cover to eat dinner before it was really weird. The service was mediocre at best, but the real problem is the food. It was genuinely bad. How do you mess up French fries? Easy -- drown them in oil. How do you ruin wings? Drown them in oil and strip away all flavor. How do you destroy sliders? Same thing -- greasy, tasteless, and poorly executed. Everything we ordered was excessively oily, heavy, and bland. No seasoning, no balance, no care. It felt like frozen bar food rushed straight from the fryer to the plate. This place relies entirely on its location, because the food absolutely does not justify eating here. Hermosa Beach has so many better options within walking distance. Huge disappointment. I was at this pub for early dinner around 3ish. I was upstairs facing the beach. I see the bartender which I found out fast enough. As I saw him, I asked twice if I could get a coffee refill. He turned to me and told me to ask him please and that he wasn't my waiter, he proceeded to get my drink and when he returned to my table I told him that he was rude. He turned to me and yelled that I was rude to him and owed him an apology. The table next to me turned as he raised his voice. I asked for the manager, he did not do a thing. Only that he would talk to him. I was upset with the treatment of a customer trying to enjoy the afternoon only to be belittled by a waiter and a manager that did not care! Came to this location (been to 3 others) for the now $7 smash burger Thursday. Rebel in Redondo has $6 double cheeseburger & Fries and Hennessy Redondo also has 241 burger Tuesday which works out to about $10. The owner of Hennessy also owns Rebel. Don't know if one owner owns them all but they might be franchises since they don't all have the same specials although the menus appear to be the same. The Hermosa smash burger with cheese and grilled onions while cheap at $7 was just not good. It could have been good but the Pattie's look as though they were steamed since they were grey in color with no sear or char. Both Rebel and Hennessy Redondo know how to cook their meat. I heard the cook after 5 is better because he couldn't be much worse. If you get a soft drink you get about 4 ounces in a giant glass of ice. I've noticed all Hennessys are not at all good at refilling drinks. The fries were ok but a child's portion at best. Everything about rebel and RB Hennessys is superior food wise the Hermosa. 3 stars is generous and reflects the fact that the burger and fries were only $7. Execution could fix the problem. I usually hit up Hennessey's on Thursday after volleyball and I normally have a great time. It's a self-seat establishment but the waiters always notices us pretty quickly and will start catering to our needs. All the servers are super friendly and I always feel taken care of. One of the best parts of the is that it tends to be clean and a great vibe as you are literally right next to the beach. I always go on Thursdays night where there have a $6 smash burger deal that comes with fries. In 2024 it's a great deal and the quality of the burger is a great. It comes out fresh and had a good meat that is salted very well. Only giving it a 4 instead of a 5 because I haven't tried other items. However I'll be back! read more

Had a wonderful time here! Had lunch here the other day and it was very nice! We ordered a bunch of appetizers, a salad, a burger and a couple of BLTAs. The food was delicious and meet our expectations! The atmosphere is very nice. Looking around everyone was enjoying their time sitting in the sun and enjoying life. The service was ok. First time we have ever seen someone come by and take your cream and sugar away after you get done using them. Kind of odd, but oh well. My wife even wanted a refill on her coffee and had to remove the cream and sugar before the person took it away. But it was a nice time other than that. It seemed like the poor food runner was having to do everything herself. We tried to flag down the server multiple times to order food and drinks and she would just walk on by, not even glancing over. We eventually gave up and made our way over to the bar to ask for help. The drinks we were able to get from the bartender were poured well. The food was...OK. We had omelettes and then ordered some calamari and onion rings at half time. The location is perfect, right at the beach walk, along with indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating. It is a spot for locals and visitors, as I could tell from the patrons that were sitting around me. There are a couple of televisions and the staff is really nice. They have a couple of draft beers and a decent liquor selection. Try the calamari, it comes with 3 different dipping sauces which added the already delicious appetizer. The fish and chips are food. Four fish filets on a bed of fries, along with coleslaw and fries. Worst service in the South Bay. Walked in at 10:15am (today.. check the tapes corporate) with my toddler for breakfast. Sat at the most center table in the restaurant. By 10:40, not a single person had spoken to us. The two servers walked right past us 10x, whom each only had one table being served... the manager and friends sat 20 ft away laughing and eating breakfast. By 10:45 I was shocked... now it seemed as if eye contact was being avoided intentionally. I called corporate to let them know how poorly this place is being ran, whom informed me they would contact the manager. By 10:50 we were packing up. It's not easy to keep a hungry toddler chill for 35 minutes. If you want awful service and zero assistance, especially when trying to take out your toddler... maybe this is ur spot.
