In case you drink so much your compass loses direction!

Came here for King Trivia on a Wednesday night and had a blast! I had called to see if reservations were needed, or a fee paid or anything else I would need to know prior to arriving. The young lady who took my call said, 'Nothin'! Come have a good time and play some trivia. He starts at 8pm.' Parking is metered at the street. 2 Hr limit until 6pm. Upon arriving at 7:30, we were greeted warmly by, I would guess, an owner. She invited us to have a seat anywhere. When I mentioned we were there for trivia and asked if there's a section of the restaurant for that she said, 'No, any seat is good and the whole restaurant is invited to play.' Cool! We got a great spot, she took our drink order and we and dove into the menu. Our server came by to greet us and answer any questions. I was happy to hear they create their own flour tostada bowls, so I went with that. Hubs chose a beef quesadillas. His was a very generous serving, which I ended up "helping" him finish - it was really delicious and the red sauce had a little kick to it. The chicken, beans and such in my salad was good but, unfortunately, the tostada shell was a bit too greasy. They had a Wednesday Stir Fry Special I think I should have gone with, but no worries. Next time! We were checked with regularly and all the employees were hopping to keep the patrons - many regulars and locals - happy and cared for. We had a lot of fun playing Trivia and Jason was a great host. We also appreciated that the other teams were fun and welcoming. Competitive and smack talkin', but lots of laughs and all were having fun. In the end, we came in 2nd and claimed a gift card! So we will definitely, and happily, be coming back to OB's. Cheers! "CC"

Fun, local MB bar that has been around for years. Locals come here to congregate and watch sports. Best day to go is Taco Tuesday...$4 tacos in MB. Where are you gonna get a deal like that. Generous size beef, chicken and fish tacos to decide on, add guacamole and sour cream for extra but definitely worth it. Highly recommend the beef or grilled fish tocos, chicken taco is a little dry but still very tasty. If you have a BIG appetite, I dare you to take the 10 taco challenge. Service is hit or miss, more likely because they only have one waitress servicing all the tables.

So much fun! Felt like we were just hanging out with the locals. People were awesome, Moscow mule was on point! Met some really cool people and can't wait to visit this area again so I can come back here. Oh, I almost forgot, I ordered fried zucchini and wow, such a treat!

Very cool divey bar atmosphere vibes. Taco Tuesday they have these giant tacos for $3 I had the Maui taco, pretty good. Loaded with a lot of lettuce, but I like that. Margaritas (house tequila) are $4 on Tuesday and shots are $3. We had to add a shot to our margaritas to give it a kick. Overall, I enjoyed my day there and definitely would come back on another day!F

OB's has an electric atmosphere providing entertainment for customers of all sorts. Fun music and lots of TVs. Went on a Thursday where there happened to be a burger special - any burger on the menu plus a side for $11.95, the burger itself was large and delicious, and overall a great deal. It's nothing fancy or gourmet, but it's a very tasty classic burger. The Southern Swell Burger is served with an incredible and high quality hot sausage link on top. There was only one waitress so the service was on the slower side but they were very nice and friendly. I'm not sure why, but they have SO many barstools around very small tables. Even without the restaurant at full capacity, it was hard to get in and out of our table because of random excess chairs everywhere.

Absolutely empty as they deserve. No one else wants to give them hard earned money. pathetic people.

Nick's Manhattan Beach will always hold a special place in our family's heart…read more In August 2025, I made a dinner reservation at Nick's because my parents were visiting from out-of-town and we had some exciting news to announce: we were pregnant with our first baby! :) On the reservation, I noted this, and didn't expect much. The day of the reservation, the host manager called to confirm that we wanted to share the news at dessert, and if there were any other accommodations we needed, which was very sweet. When we arrived at our table, they had a card signed by staff congratulating us, and it was a night to remember. Great food, great service, and the warm hand towels after my dad demolished the baby back ribs were the cherry on top! Our group also ordered the chilean sea bass, salmon, and bistro plate. 10/10. One of our final meals as a family of two was Valentine's Day 2026. It was our first time being seated indoors, and the ambiance was dim and romantic. The meatloaf special was fantastic! Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. Thanks for the consistent hospitality and great meals, Nick's!

I first fell in love with this place for their hearty, spicy cioppino served with fresh baked…read moresourbread round. The last couple of times I ordered this was disappointing though. Too salty and just didn't hit the spot. Not sure if there is a new cook or they changed anything with the recipe, but I don't order it anymore. The other food items are decent and I would visit here again on occassion as it is a solid dinner choice. It's okay with kids. Not a huge restaurant inside, but they also have outdoor covered seating as well for better weather months. Parking: Attached parking structure with pay meters. Street parking. Nearby multi-story lot with pay meters. Can be a bit busy on weekends around here so best to time your visit accordingly if possible.

The food is solid. It's as tasty and well put together as I remember it to be. We started with the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits. I think these have been here since day one. They're FULL of lovely smoky bacon pieces and are at least 4" round! It's a pretty hearty appetizer. We quickly moved on to dinner, here's what the table ordered: Lobster & Sweet Corn Risotto - the risotto was cooked perfectly. Be sure to mix that poblano pepper butter in the middle up, it adds a great smoky chili flavor to each bite. My oinly complaint about this dish is that they used claw meat. I'm just not a fan of lobster claw, it's too gelatinously rubbery for me. Skirt Steak - Oooo, this was medium rare to perfection. The smoked paprika chimichurri gave a burst of flavor and a mild heat at the back of my throat. Chilean Sea Bass - Chilean sea bass always cuts like buttah! 2 people ordered this at our table and I'm pretty sure they loved it, that side of the table was pretty silent for 15 - 20 mins. Pork Porterhouse - This dish had the most flavor. The spaetzle was cooked and browned on the griddle, it had a fantastic crispy crust. It was a little on the salty side BUT I think 's because it needed more carbs to tame the salt. For me, it would have been PERFECT with a little rice or mashed potatoes or creamed sunchokes. Parking still sucks in MB but right behind the restaurant is a parking garage that's free after 6 pm.

We didn't have a reservation but the wait staff was able to get a table after a brief 15" wait. Here is how it scored... The Food - Healthy Steak Salad ($23) Score 5/5: My oh my, this was a great salad. I love hanger steak and they cooked it perfectly. The greens were nicely selected and it was not overdressed. The price was reasonable factoring in inflation and Manhattan Beach. The Service Score 5/5: The wait staff was friendly, kind and attentive. The Venue Score 5/5: It really has a small tavern/sports bar look and feel. It's small, maybe less than 25 seats. Reservations highly recommended. The Parking Score 2/5: Manhattan Beach can be nightmare because it is mainly street parking. According to another reviewer, there is a small lot behind the building. If I lived in Manhattan, I would be a regular. Highly recommended.

If I can tack on a 1/2 star or 1/2 point above, I would. And the only reason WHY I am not giving a…read morefull 5-star rating is because of The Rockefeller's cockamamie rule of "yes, we're dog friendly" but "you can't have your dog or your party block the sidewalk" and "we're not allowed to have the chairs out to here (indicating a particular distance on the sidewalk)", etcetera, etcetera. GIve me a break. JUST SAY that The Rockefeller isn't dog-friendly and be done with it, ok? By the way, this incident WAS on Mother's Day 2026, so the staff was particularly overwhelmed. . . so there's that timing. On a previous time my husband and I had brunch here about 4-5 months ago, we DID take our little doggie without any issue. So the staff either has to get their stories straight for next time or just say that The Rockefeller IS dog-friendly, BUT ONLY for a two- or one-person party. Other than that, The Rockefeller's Chilaquiles are phenomenal. It was flavorful and filling. Also, the Bacon & Eggs (two eggs, any style) -- which I had my eggs over-easy -- were outstanding. Bottom-line: Don't bring your dog. It's just too complicated for The Rockefeller to handle. Leave your dog at home.
