Cozy patio & cold Brews. Caught a game of pool & met some cool locals. Great place to watch sports. They had a Taco Cart in the back, the tacos were actually legit. I tried both the Asada & Chicken Tacos, & it was a hit. They actually do catering outside. Going back for Tacos next Friday.

Met with 2 good friends at the the old Poop Deck yesterday. It's been known for a several years now as the Deck. Mike B, & I live in the South Bay, Mike C, lives in Pasadena. Some 15 years ago he lived in Redondo. The Deck, is a great place to people watch while catching up with old friends. Along with a good selection of beers they serve some good pub grub too. Yesterday they had an event, girls volleyball tournament. It was fun to watch & added to the overall beach vibe. We've been to the Deck many times over the years, it's truly, one of the "last of the Mohicans" or one of the last of its kind on the strand! A 5 Star!

Ceviche de Pescado "Fish Ceviche " with fresh Salsa & tortilla chips . It was off the hook.. Great service! considering we all have to adjust to this new way of living with Masks and out door dinning . Also the Vegan burger was delicious.

Best Dive restaurant/bar in Hermosa beach! The view is a plus. Definitely a family friendly environment, and gives off a sense of nostalgia. Can't wait to try the tri tip sandwich.

This place is a blast and they have carnita tacos, hell yesssss! I lean more towards dive bars, I honestly hate all the fuss and muss when it comes to other bars. I feel so at home here. Everyone is laid back, the drinks are good, they have games and food. I can chill here all night with a beer in hand. Drinks They have a good selection of beers, that's what most people are drinking here. They do have wine but I don't think I would recommend wine in a dive bar. My friend ordered a house cab and said it was awful but still drank it lol. The only thing that sucks is that they don't serve hard alcohol so you can't get a mixed drink or shots here. The loophole is that they do serve jello shots! Makes me feel like I'm in college again haha. I love it! Games You can play pool here and they also have a game off to the side. I've never played it but it looks cool and people are always having fun. It might be a shuffle board or something. We like to mix it up and play our own games. We asked for extra cups and a few pitchers and got flip cup going. Food On certain nights they have tacos. I'm a sucker for tacos especially when drinking beer. The tacos are damn good too. Carnitas all the way, I promise you won't regret it. They also have a popcorn machine. Super random but in the best way. Seating There is plenty of seating inside and outside. It is a smaller bar compared to others in the area but that's what I like about it. It's very cozy and welcoming. They have bar stools inside and benches outside but you will catch most people standing around chatting it up. Service There's typically only one bartender getting everyones drink orders but the service is always good! I come here on different nights of the week and every time has been a great experience. I also love the security guards and they even gave my friend some candy for her birthday. Again, super random but in the best ways! I love coming here and will continue to do so!

This place has only been open a week and a half and it was packed! It used to be the "poop deck" and I was so sad when I heard that it closed! :( We went there today and it was a blast! They classed the place up and it's better than before. They took the dive out of dive bar. They are no longer cash only and they still allow flip cup. Great service and now they serve WINE! A great list of wines to choose from too. Beautiful location on the boardwalk. Hands down the best bar in Hermosa! Will be back ASAP!!! :)

    Grilled Cheese

$6 Grilled Cheese to go was rather disappointing. Small, no pickles, waited 10min. Way too much packaging waste. Definitely not made with love.

Great location at the beach, open windows, good HH pricing, and a surfer-looking bartender - DONE!

My hubby and I hit up the deck today. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Opened up the windows and sat and people watched. Great and well priced drinks also great service by Juan! Thanks Juan!

Is this 21+? Are kids allowed in?

Yes it's 21+, It's an old school bar! Not a Resturant with a bar. I will tell you this much, I've been hundreds of times over the years & have never seen any kids. Of course that doesn't mean they don't. Maybe you should just call them.

The new patio really opens up the interior and overall the space is looking so good and vibey! Apparently, everyone else in the South Bay had the same idea because the place was absolutely humming. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, just be patient. Fortunately, we had reservations and were quickly seated in a roomy table tucked away in the back corner. It turned out to be prime real estate: enough privacy for conversation, but still a great vantage point to take in the entire restaurant. The patio out front might be even better, though, if you're into people-watching. Catalina Avenue on a Friday night offers no shortage of entertainment. But for our group, this table was perfect. The interior has a warm, industrial feel, exposed brick, dark wood, metal accents, garage-style doors, and televisions scattered throughout. Oddly, the Dodgers game wasn't on. Maybe they don't get SportsNet LA. I never bothered to ask because the conversation at our table was far more enjoyable. Let's address the elephant in the room: Friday-night service. The place was packed, and our server was clearly running a marathon. He's usually stationed behind the bar, sports a sleeve of tattoos, looks super fit, and carries a permanent smile. He worked hard all evening, but there were some significant stretches where my Ikasu Ikasu West Coast IPA ($11) sat empty with no rescue in sight. A man can only stare sadly at an empty pint glass for so long. We started with the poutine fries, crispy fries loaded with gravy, skirt steak, mornay sauce, Gruyère, and green onions. They were outstanding and disappeared so quickly that I remembered to take a photo only after the massacre had already occurred, see my picture, LOL. Our server redeemed himself with his entrée recommendation: The Philly. Thinly sliced ribeye, grilled onions, sweet and hot peppers, house sauce, all piled into a sesame roll. It was fantastic, messy, savory, and exactly what you want from a cheesesteak. My wife paired a Harmonia Mango Wheat ($11) with the Blue Cheese Avocado Burger ($20), a hefty seven-ounce burger topped with melted blue cheese, grilled onions, avocado, applewood bacon, and arugula. She was a happy camper. Our friends split the same burger and also ordered the hummus appetizer, adding filet mignon on top. Excellent call, I snuck a few bites! To their credit, at the end of the evening our server came back to the table, apologized for the pacing, and made amends with a complimentary Crafted Cookie: a warm chocolate-chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. At the end of the day, restaurants are about more than perfect timing and topped-off beers. They're about sharing stories, laughing with friends, and breaking bread with people you enjoy being around. The service had its ups and downs, but the food was solid, the atmosphere lively, and Riviera Village on a summer Friday night is hard to beat.

I drive by this place at least once a week and somehow never noticed it. I ordered the chili on my coworker's recommendation, and she was absolutely right--it was incredible. The flavors were rich and delicious, the portion was generous, and it came with cornbread that was the perfect complement. I left completely stuffed and very happy! I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I tried one of their guava seltzers (I wish I could remember the name!), and it was refreshing and delicious. The service really stood out as well. It's not terrible by any means, but it's hard to justify returning. The menu features some nice Southern-influenced dishes you don't typically see at every brewery. Highlights and thoughts on what we ordered: Green Beans Appetizer: Easily the star of the table--perfectly seasoned with a great crisp crunch. Other Starters & Mains: We also tried the Brussels sprouts, chipotle wings, duck gumbo, and the daily flatbread special (tomato and burrata). Everything was decent, but for the price, nothing blew us away. Famous Brisket Dinner: A bit of a letdown. It came strictly with coleslaw and no additional sides. The flavor was fine--middle of the road overall. Between two 4-beer flights, we sampled most of their standard and hoppy lineup. They clearly excel at West Coast IPAs. However, the pricing structure on tasters feels steep--$6 for a 5oz pour of their Double IPA is tough to swallow, especially when calculated to cost more per ounce than iconic Pliny the Younger, which most places charge a dollar per ounce (when distributed). To cap off the 3-star rating, the 4-pack of IPA I purchased to-go was canned two months prior. Any craft beer enthusiast knows hoppy profiles fall off noticeably over time, and a brewery should really be prioritizing fresh inventory for retail sales. Total damage came out to around $200 for two adults and a child. For that price point, the value just wasn't there, leaving us feeling like something was missing from the experience.
