Brother reunion from January 5th, that resulted in a horrible night due to a terrible bartender not being responsible.
Julian C.

On the night of January 5th, the bartender (male, tall, tattoos, where's a gold chain and hat most of the time) was inappropriate with customers, drinking on the job, over pouring drinks, and literally walked outside to fight a customer. Do better, never coming back to this place after such a horrible experience.

People rushing us off the pool table.

I had a really disappointing experience here. If you're looking for a fun night out, this is definitely not the place. It felt like the whole vibe was taken over by overly serious pool players who kept coming up to us, asking us to hurry up. One lady, very rudely, even said, "I know you're trying to have fun, but just know people are waiting for you to finish your game." We weren't even goofing off--we were actually playing pool, and yet it felt like we were being rushed the entire time. Toward the end of our game, with just a few balls left, they said, "You have two minutes left on the table." The entire place was full of rude regulars who just stared at us like we didn't belong. The only positive note was the bartenders, who were friendly. But honestly, if you're not a regular, I wouldn't recommend coming here for a fun pool night. It was a horrible experience, and I won't be coming back. Also, there was a dog at the bar. I love dogs, but this one kept walking around, jumping on the bench, and the owner just let it roam freely. It was really strange how they allowed the dog to just wander around the bar like that. Did not have any food.

I got called into town for work and I immediately remembered The Bounty Room. Thank god it was the same bartender. To my surprise he remembered us and not only us but our drinks. Thank you once again for making this establishment seem home away from home.

If you're looking for a no-frills, all-thrills kind of night, Bounty Room delivers--strong drinks, great service, and plenty of eye candy to keep things interesting. This is a true dive bar, so don't come expecting craft cocktails or a fancy food menu. What you can expect? Ice-cold beers, stiff pours, and a bartending team that knows how to keep the drinks flowing and the vibes just right. The crowd? A mix of locals, regulars, and some damn fine-looking men--if you like a little visual entertainment with your whiskey, you won't be disappointed. The energy is laid-back yet lively, and whether you're flying solo or rolling in with friends, you'll find yourself laughing, drinking, and maybe even flirting a little more than planned. Bottom line: Bounty Room is the kind of spot where the night gets a little blurry, the company gets a little better, and the drinks never stop coming. A dive in all the best ways.

Pool tables and additional seating, other than at the bar.

First impressions can be misleading or lack full insight. When someone refers to a pub or bar as a dive, that word generates several connotations. The Bounty Room does just that when you enter for the first time. No ambience, no plush seating, nor elegant restrooms. My first instinct was to turn around and walk out. Instead I took a seat at the only seating available, at a short section of bench seats with 13 backless bar stools. At the bar were 22 customers sharing 16 backless bar stools. There were 4 additional customers using the two billiard tables. They were located in front of the entrance door, and the row of bench seats where I was seated. Two television screens are mounted on the wall behind me, and a single arcade game is at the end of my seat. The manager, Jennifer, was also the bartender. She did an excellent job working the bar and extremely attentive to her customers. There are 4 wide screen televisions mounted on the wall behind the bar, with a very large fish tank. Each screen was showing something different with volume off or on low. There are no foot rails at the bar or bench seats. I introduced myself to two of the billiard players, and three customers seated at the bar. I discovered the dive, in this bar means friendly neighborhood bar. The ladies I spoke with stated they felt safe day or night, and enjoyed the attention of the men. This was after becoming acquainted with the various customers, and developing a bond or friendship over a period of five years or months for another. I was told, when there is only standing room, or action at the pool tables, it can be hard to have a normal conversation. The prices of beer, and mixed drinks are much lower than some of the more popular pubs or bars in this area. I discovered the customer base is mainly friends and neighbors. The wooden bar top was knife etched with initials and various street art designs. This bar recently had new flooring installed. Several customers are retired or semi, and this is their hangout or get away from home hideaway. If you want wine, this is not your place. They have only 1 single serving bottle of Sutter wine available. Also the only food, is a variety chip rack. You may bring food in. If you are looking for a friendly bar with bargain prices, a long happy hour, and may be near home, this is it. A game of billiards is only a dollar. Jennifer the manager, would be honored to attend to your beer or mixed drink needs. There are ten popular draft beers on tap. I went back a few days later and took a few photos. If you are looking for no frills, but seek good company with lower prices, please try, The Bounty Room. Tell Jennifer I sent you.

The Bounty Room is a cute local bar but with extra awesome service and vibes. I recently moved to Torrance and a few friends and I were trying to go our for St. Patricks day. We ended up at the bounty room and had a wonderful time! The bartender was super friendly and chatty, and it seemed like everyone in there knew each other - just super good vibes. They have pool tables and an arcade game, a pretty fish tank, and a ton of great drinks. Definitely will be back!

Small parking lot that may park about 5 cars and watch the street signs for parking. Pool table & full service bar. Mostly bar seating with a banquette along one wall. What made this bar cool is Sandra, la Reina de Moctezuma as she refers to herself. Breezy, lively, nonchalante, a bit coquettish to the "right guy", socially charming to her other guests. She creates her own story line to create her aura & drama. Author John Rechy, if he were straight, would have featured Miz Sandra in one of his novels like the City of Night. Ordered a pint of Guinness & Harp combination, but I didn't call it a "black & tan" in an Irish pub for historical reasons. But Sandra told me they don't have Harp, and suggested I do a Snake Bite instead which is half Guinness & Hard Cider. I opted for just Guinness since I wasn't in an experimental mood. Later, she was kind enough to let me sample a shot of the Strong Bow Hard Cider which was smooth, sweet, acidic with actual sour apple flavour. Next time I'll have to order the Snake Bite. Don't know how exactly Irish Sly Fox is with its grunge-garage rock music. But it's a good, unpretentious, local hang out. And of course, there's Sandra, la Reina de Moctezuma who is worth the visit. 4- stars

I got to visit Keegan's again recently when a friend was visiting from out of town. We had just grabbed dinner and boba and headed out here to hang out for Saturday night. We came close to 10pm and there was a bouncer at the door checking everyone's IDs. The place was relatively packed with several different celebrations and birthdays in their outdoor area that has all the fire pits. They had waiters coming around the outside tables but one could also go straight to the bar to place drink orders. There were several tvs around the bar area and I spotted a pool area towards the back of the outside area. Most of the fire pits seating was taken by large parties but there were some smaller tables, that my friend and I were able to sit at. We didn't get any food but I got to try my old favorite Lemon Drop - which was a nice, refreshing sweet treat for a Saturday night. I did quickly scan the food menu and it's a lot of traditional bar food like burgers and fries. The music for the night consisted of old school rap songs from the 2000s. It seemed perfectly catered to the crowd for the night that seemed to consist of folks in their 30s and a few folks in their early 40s. Overall visiting here took me back to when my friend celebrated her birthday. It's an overall chill spot . The crowd wasn't overly loud or rowdy and everyone was just out enjoying a Saturday night.

Pool tables seem straight and true and the crowd is mixed. When I was there last I saw people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and even much higher. Music pumps through the jukebox all night. The bartender (I say the because I have only seen one.. the same one... every time I visit) is friendly and fast. Fairly low-key in general but this place has a bit of an energetic buzz going on. To me its a great place to have a beer, shoot a rack, and just hang out with friends. McGeady's only accepts cash but the do have an ATM inside. Of course, those ATMs have fees and since I hate those fees I figured its good to warn you here in the review so you can remember to bring cash when you come.

We were daunted by the 1.5 hr drive to where we were staying and hoped that eating closer would save some time later. It did! Rasselbock is a bit hidden away but we found it with street metered parking nearby. We had arranged for a reservation but we hardly needed it. The place was mostly empty when we arrived. Music was thumping, and not German music. It was classic rock but a touch too loud. So keep that in mind. I appreciated that they had Erdinger beer. That's some of the best beer around. I chose the non alcoholic since I had a drive ahead. I was told it might not be cold enough and the server brought me the bottle to sample it by touch. I cheerfully noted Germans don't drink very cold beer and it was fine. My wife and I ordered schnitzels, she chicken and I pork. She had the Oma's potato salad - which with mustard and mayo really would not have passed muster with a real Oma like mine. She reported it was good anyway. I had spaetzle and cucumber dill salad. The kids both had a bratwurst, salad and fries. On the whole the schnitzels were good. Not entirely authentic but USA-good enough. I'd say the same for my spaetzle and salad. One kid liked the bratwurst, one didn't. I found what I tried of the sausage to be pretty good. The stone ground mustard was particularly good. Service was a little slow to start but the food came quickly and we were off. A 4.2 rounds to a flat 4. German food is hard to come by anywhere, so I welcome it. Especially with a good selection of beer. They serve multiple sizes included a liter "mass." Sounds great but I think those days are behind me. Definitely worth a try.
