Three mushrooms with jade tofu
Boon C.

Very traditional Chinese restaurant that love by Chinese or American. It is heart and soul for the China town. The restaurant has limited table. But you should be able to find a table due to food delivered to table very fast. Turn around also fast. We have the jade tofu - soft tofu. This dish comes with three different mushrooms. I recommend this dish. We also got BBQ pork pastry. This one of my son favorite. It is good. The last dish we have is the beef chow fun. I like this dish due higher BTU wok dish. It was perfectly done. Overall we have a good meal. Good service.

Egg tarts (very small)
Han-Nha T.

3.5 stars. Most dishes are what you expect, but then the egg tarts are very small. We didnt get anything that was stand-out good. Rice rolls were a bit mushy, salted egg yolk was grainy, and egg tarts had very little filling due to their size. Beef stir-fry and vegetables were fine. Prices were about $18 per dish. It seems that this place may be more popular with non-Chinese crowds for dinner, as looking around, the fried rice portions were huge seemed popular. Not sure if I'd come back. Coming from the bay, I'd want larger portions for this quality and size. Maybe more dim sum dishes would have been better.

Shrimp rice noodle rolls (there's a fly at the bottom of the plate)
Alea A.

Not for me. There was a fly underneath our shrimp rice noodle rolls which made me feel queasy knowing I had already ate a few from the plate. There were also flies buzzing around the dining area. The wonton noodle soup lacked flavor and just tasted like white pepper. The siu mai and har gao were mushy and sad. The bbq pork bun was probably the most innocent thing. The waiter subtracted the rice rolls from our bill when I pointed out the fly but the total was still very expensive for dim sum of that quality. Wanted to love but it was unfortunately a very unpleasant experience for us. Next time I'm in the area I'll stick to Dim Sum King.

I used to come here a lot when I worked downtown but haven't been in a few years. I feel like the quality has really improved! You order from a qr menu and can order dim sum and/or things off the regular menu, plus they have white board specials. Still about a 30 min wait for 3 at 2 pm on a Sat afternoon!! We decided to come because we took the new light rail from the east side, then walked a few blocks up to the restaurant. Everything was delish, fresh, and hot. They also stopped by with skme trays of things too. I miss the carts but this is convenient. Standard dim sum fare - no exotics like jellyfish, xiao long bao, or sugarcane shrimp. Still solid and fast once you are seated!

This was hard. Came here because Jade is known as the oldest Chinese restaurant in Seattle, and I've heard Bruce Lee used to eat here -- which is pretty cool. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was just okay, especially for the price. Some dishes were bland and chewy -- not bad, just underwhelming. Things went downhill when my son found a piece of hair in his soup. We tried to brush it off, but a few minutes later we noticed a bug (about penny-sized) on my daughter's hair. That was the breaking point. I also used the men's restroom and it was dirty and unpleasant. Despite everything, my wife still tipped the server 18% because the service itself was good. We won't be returning. The front door sign shows an "Excellent" cleanliness rating, which didn't match our experience. Rating: 2-3 stars

Had a good time eating here with friends on a Thursday night around 7 pm in Seattle's chinatown! Easy to find parking in chinatown. We were a party of 3 and we were sat immediately since it wasn't at all busy. A lot of older/senior people already dining and enjoying their foods. It's a beautiful interior that's spacious and will do well for larger groups or bigger celebrations. They don't have the traditional dim sum carts :( Anyways, we orders several dishes from their dim sum and dinner menu. The har gao, chicken feet, and shrimp rice roll were classically done and delicious. The fried rice was awesome since it had so much flavor and some crunch in it from added rice puffs. The hot and sour soup was tasted as expected. The main course was the Peking duck! Lots of duck meat with baos and wraps. Classic toppings but with shredded cantaloupe that added sweetness and freshness with the duck. Overall, great experience!

We went the day after Lunar New Year to get Peking duck. The food was good but the vegetables were so expensive that we didn't get them.

In Seattle's Chinatown....this place is a pretty solid choice. And it sure was a busy place on this day. Dumpling soup: Very good rendition. Duck: Pretty solid crispy duck version. Mongolian/stir fry beef: Very good and and a good sauce. Red dipping sauce: Never had a sauce quite like this, but it's darn good. Has a decent kick, but the flavor was great! Steamed dumpling: It's ok but not the best. Potstickers: Not my favorite at all on this one. Staff can be a bit slow in getting to you or getting the food. But it all comes out hot and fresh....It's again, a great solid choice.

This is a delicious dim sum restaurant in downtown Seattle. The service is very friendly and food comes out quick. Dim sum items are carried out on trays vice carts. You can also order from the digital menu. The food is fresh and delicious. The restaurant is small and there can be a wait. If you arrive early before 9:30 am (on weekend) then you can be seated quickly. Parking can be difficult since it's downtown, but street parking is free on Sunday. They charge extra if you use credit card, so recommend paying by cash or debit card.

Absolutely loved this spot when I visited Seattle. We came on a weekday mid-afternoon and were seated immediately. There was no wait, which was a nice surprise. Just a heads-up: since it's located in Chinatown, parking can be a bit tricky. Most spots are paid ($5/hour), and it took a while to find one. If you go earlier in the day, you might score free street parking. Pro tip: there's a nearby supermarket where you can park and get validated with a purchase. I wish I'd known that sooner! It's only a few blocks' walk. The food was so DELICIOUS. Instead of the traditional cart service with aunties wheeling around dim sum, you order from a photo menu which I personally loved. It makes it easier to get exactly what you want fresh, without waiting or missing a dish from the carts. Every single item we ordered hit the spot. Fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The dining room was quiet, but that might've just been the time we went. Service was efficient. If you're in Seattle and craving authentic dim sum, this place should be on your list. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

This is still our go to dim sum spot... really friendly service, clean interior (so impressed that they have an excellent food safety rating), and such delicious dumplings. All the dumplings are amazing but our favorites are the scallop and shrimp, shanghai dumplings, shrimp and chives, shu mai, har gow, pan fried shrimp and chives, and eggplant stuffed with shrimp. Years ago I had lost a gold bracelet during dim sum and didn't realize this is where I had left. Days later I called and they had found it and stowed it safely away--they are so incredibly honest....

Delicious. Don't need to go to BC for Dimsum anymore. Great services. Servers were very helpful and tried their best to help me get sauce I need (plum sauce and dark Chinese vinegar). Street parking was easy to find on work week before noon. Highly recommended

While visiting Seattle, we wanted to eat in China Town. We asked a guy who was working on the street what restaurant he would recommend. He told us to go to Jade Garden. We were seated immediately. There was no menu. You have to scan the menu and place your order on your phone. We ordered the chicken chow mein. It was decent, but it was just noodles, chicken, and onions. There were no vegetables. Service was terrible, which was surprising since the restaurant was almost empty. Not sure what happened, but they charged me more than the price on the menu. I didn't even bother to ask. We just paid and got out of there. It was just not a good experience.

Not only that, but it's also the most affordable with a price-per-piece around $1.35 for most items. The Siu Mai, BBQ Pork Bun, Custard Bun, and Shrimp Cheung Fun are personal standouts. With that said, this is not your typical dim sum restaurant. You'll find no leisurely rotating tables or endless pots of tea. Instead it operates more like a bakery, optimized for takeout. This seems to be a point of disconnect among other reviews here. Service is focused on efficiency, but you can take as long as you need to decide what you want by using the paper ordering sheet and referencing pictures on the wall. There are tables you can usually snag to dine in with, but expect everything to be boxed regardless. Go in understanding this, and you'll have an excellent time. overall 5+/5

Like the Food Walk itself, this place gets very crowded during peak lunch hours when they're open; every seat was taken and everyone else - myself included - got our goodies for takeout. You pay depending on how much you get; for example, one piece of siu mai is $1.30 each as of this writing. All other food items follow in a similar suit. We got the following: - Egg tart: my favorites though they have cookie crusts. I do prefer flaky crusts but the egg yolk has the right amount of sweet to balance the crust. - Siu mai: fresh and piping hot. Meat was also fresh and didn't have a weird aftertaste. - Green onion bun: each one is pretty big, and there's just enough green onions on them to distinguish between similar buns like the baked BBQ pork bun. - Sponge cake: didn't eat this myself but parents thought this was all right though a little too set. - Baked BBQ pork bun: my dad's favorite. BBQ pork is sweet and complements the bun itself. - Meat bun turnover (Shanghai pan-fried buns): I always like getting these in places like Din Tai Fung and Dough Zone. The ones here are even better, with a ton of filling in each bun and a nice crisp from the pan fry. A classic staple of Chinatown that serves awesome dim sum that edges out the competition pretty well considering dining in has gotten a lot more expensive lately! I see myself coming back a lot more, beyond the number of times I've gone here since high school, of course.

The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun.
