**STOP AND EAT HERE!! **…read more I NEVER leave reviews, but this place was so good that I had to take the time to write one. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredible. I got to speak with Chef Roger, and you can immediately tell that he genuinely cares about the food he makes. The way he talked about selecting the flavors and preparing the mushrooms really showed how much pride he takes in his cooking. The maître d' at the door was also named Roger, and he was just as friendly and welcoming. I had my 18-month-old daughter with me, and the entire staff treated us so well. Everyone was professional, kind, and genuinely welcoming. At one point, I walked outside with my daughter while our food was being prepared, and she grabbed the maître d' Roger's hand and just started walking around with him. That honestly says a lot about how comfortable and welcomed we felt there. **Now, the STEAK... WOW.** This was probably the best steak I have ever had. The wood-smoked grill flavor and the crust were absolutely perfect. I had the Baseball Wagyu steak, and it was SO tender. It was almost like eating a more flavorful filet. Absolutely incredible. The mushrooms were fantastic, and the mashed potatoes actually tasted freshly made -- not like that watery, sad stuff that sometimes gets served as mashed potatoes. We didn't get the bourbon mushrooms because we don't drink, but Chef Roger explained that the alcohol is actually cooked off during preparation. You could tell he really knew his food and was happy to explain everything. Honestly, if you're going to eat in **Helen, GA**, I would put this place at the top of your list. Helen itself was okay, but a lot of what we saw was more typical bar food. **This place was on another level.** The food, service, atmosphere, and hospitality were all top-tier. **Worth every single dollar.** And I want to give an extra shout-out because I had my little daughter with me, and they treated her like family. Nobody was stuck-up or pretentious. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. **Shout-out to Chef Roger, Maître d' Roger, and the guy with no hair and the blue jacket! ** Thank you guys for such an awesome experience. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back! **If you're anywhere near Helen, GA -- STOP AND EAT HERE! You won't regret it. **

You know what they say fresh fish dies not smell. Decor has not changed. Started with a sangria and bread service. So many places are charging for bread but if you're going to charge me it better be good. Yall know I will pay for good food and service. When the bread came out there was 5 pieces of some sort of loaf bread that had been warmed. The menu said ciabatta bread and when I pointed it out to the waitress she said they didn't have it anymore. I said that's the only reason we ordered it was because it was a ciabatta bread. She just said sorry. Yall know if you follow my reviews I used to own a restaurant and it's misrepresented on the menu, What else is misrepresented? We ordered the wedge to share which was ok. I ordered the cod and my husband ordered the sirloin top cap and asked for it between med rare and med. My small piece of cod was overcooked, rice cold, plantains bitter and tortilla was hard and tasteless. My husbands sirloin was well and we think they mixed up the orders and it was TOUGH. Chewy and no salt. My cod was tasteless. We finished quickly to get out of there. 140.00 for a waste of a Saturday night. Could go anywhere better. We will no longer be back.

As soon as you step through the doors into the corridor, it's like you're transported into the big city. It has an old Hollywood feel with gorgeous modern crystal light fixtures, the natural charm of wood paneling, and beautiful marble columns. A fully stocked bar sits behind the barista; I could only imagine the hustle and bustle of the restaurant at night as he took our order. And the wine vault is a true spectacle to behold: imagine a bank vault filled to the absolute brim full of the most delicious wine! We will have to go back for dinner for sure! Anyway, I'm veering off course! The man behind the counter was so friendly, and we ended up sharing a mutual love for carrot cake! I ordered a Dirty Chai Tea Latte, a carrot cake muffin, and a lemon poppyseed scone because when in Rome right?! The carrot cake muffin was pretty much the stuff of dreams. It tasted rich and delicious while still not being overly sweet. The lemon poppyseed was good, but I had trouble finding the lemon flavor. The dirty chai was absolute perfection though. The perfect balance of coffee with the slight sweetness of the chai. Plus it looked beautiful when it came out major bonus points! As you all know, the most important thing I look for when choosing a restaurant to eat at is its health score, and this place nails it because it currently has a 100 A! If you have a chance to visit the cafe, please do. You will not be disappointed. The service is top notch, and the food and drinks are delish! We will definitely be visiting during restaurant hours soon, and I'll make sure to update with my review! In the meantime, if you see me noshing on a pastry there, feel free to say hello!

Hubby and I were driving through and decided to stop in for dinner. Without reservations we were…read moreseated quickly. All the staff were so friendly, especially Bri our server, she was great! We sat down to a "Cajun night" menu to which I inquired if that's like a weekly thing or what and was explained that they will occasionally do various themes and recently had done Italian. They had Cajun music playing and a full Cajun menu, it felt like we were in Louisiana which I am very familiar with, I have roots there. I think having themed nights is a very clever way to bring a variety of fine dining options to a small town that doesn't have a lot of restaurant options. Fully support! Love the concept! Having had frog legs before I didn't feel the need to explore again so didn't choose those. I instead opted for some more cozy comforts such as the Crawfish étouffée and Duck Andouille Gumbo. Both were delicious, my only gripe would be the presentation was quite lacking. Traditionally, for either of those dishes, the rice is served from a cup as a topper, not the gumbo or étouffée spooned atop the rice. But the flavor hit it out of the park. Hubby ordered the Blackened Redfish and this is where the chef's talents shine. This was the winning dish of the evening. Hubby hates okra, I love it, and I'd never had it grilled before though and I'll be using that cooking technique in the future, especially since hubby actually likes okra finally. But I don't want to focus on okra for a fish dish. The blackened redfish was so well seasoned and perfectly flaky, the pinto beans had great flavor as well. We finished our meal out with the beignets and coffees (hubby espresso and me a latte) which paired perfectly with the beignets. We ate them politely with the fork and knife provided though if you ain't covered in powdered sugar or accidentally proofing powdered sugar across the table when you take a bite are you even doing it right? ;) but they were delicious, everything was. Again the only suggestion I have is to consider presentation. The dishes looked a bit bland for the amount of flavor they packed. A slice of that grilled okra on top of my Gumbo or just anything simple would've gone a long way. Overall I'll give 5 stars. I have no complaints. The restaurant's vibe and decor are great, service was great, food was delicious. We had a great night!

I am writing this one to protect you! This is a declining resort, pretending to offer a luxury, high-end resort experience. There is absolutely no importance placed on customer service. The facilities and grounds are underwhelming for the price. It was not clean. And they do not value their guests. I spent so much money to stay a weekend with my fiancée to celebrate our engagement. We were incredibly excited. Coming home, I felt like I had been tricked out of my money. Our room was not ready when we arrived at check-in time. They scrambled to get the champagne and roses ready, ruining the surprise for my fiancée. The spa was consistently unclean: dirty towels left on furniture, stepping over empty glasses and cups everywhere, and the men's locker room looked like no one had attended it all day. Good luck getting in touch with any of the staff. They are understaffed and disorganized. Whether it was the spa desk, a restaurant, room service, management... we were constantly playing phone games, reaching voicemail, and never getting a call back. The massages were a horrible value. They were very expensive, yet mediocre, and my massage therapist talked during most of it about himself. It was not a relaxing experience. Every place we ate at the resort was overpriced and also mediocre. During our second day, my fiancée had stomach issues due to the food we had eaten. So we were unable to attend our wine tour. When I explained this to management, and tried to get a refund for the tour (or at least a credit), we had to again play many phone games before being told nothing would be done. The lack of customer service, especially for the level of service we were expecting and paying for at a "luxury" resort, is truly the most disappointing aspect of Chateau Elan. Please!! Do not make the same mistake we did, do not waste your money! Personally, I wish i'd stayed at the Hampton.
