Great location, spectacular views- drinks are decent and the prices are average. Wait staff has zero personality- frowned at everyone coming in and talking about each table/patrons. Service staff needs a nap or re-training on customer service. It's the summer, it's post covid and you got business. Be happy with that- read more

My father has a very bad leg. Walking slowly across the parking lot and hostess could clearly see him. Wanted to get a nice table that I saw near the water and not turn my parents back when he had such a hard time walking. Hostess said he had to physically be standing next to me (he was only about 20 feet away in clear sight) for us to be seated. I guess she wanted to save herself walking an extra 10 seconds to the table. Sooooo rude. read more

Great location, but food is mediocre, a tourist trap. Save money and eat some where else (That Place is awesome) and walk the marginal way for free. Wife had lobster role and tasted like old lobster they hadn't sold. Served with bag of Ruffles. Told waitress and she said that talked to owner Jackie and she said because it was half eaten (two bites) she wouldn't refund or discount. The wait was long which we thought was a good sign. The waitress was sorta blunt and not too friendly asking us to wait outside. We understood why, but her approach was not very welcoming. We chose to sit at the bar instead of waiting. We probably waited 10 minutes for our drink order...at a bar. We then waited another 20 minutes to place our food order. Two other couples that were seated after us had their order taken before us. We order the Cajun shrimp for an appetizer. Not impressed. Someone else's frozen fried shrimp with someone else's Cajun season sprinkled on it. I order the lobster roll which was bland and she ordered the Jackie's special, which was less the adequate. Lovely view, was able to be immediately seated on the deck at a table right next to the water for an early lunch. Hostess was very nice. Server was very friendly and attentive. We got the Brussel sprouts that could have been split easily between 5 people and they were delicious. Lobster rolls were perfect, with more lobster meat than you will find at many other places in the area for the same price. Very good experience. read more

Great blueberry beer, good variety of food. The view of the water is awesome. This is not on some smelly marina with a view of dirty boats. No, Jackie's Too is a real view of water on the coast of Maine. You are looking at the Rocky coastline & the same view as the famous Marginal Way that everyone enjoys walking. The view is fantastic but unfortuneatly that was the highlight of our dinner. The descriptions on the menu are very misleading. The seafood "stuffed" Haddock was anything but that, It was a filet of fish with BREAD CRUMBS layed over the top. The coleslaw was pretty bad, so bad, I couldn't get passed the second forkfull. The service lacked severly, we had to wave him down most of the time to get his attention. The restaurant was only about 25% full and they certainly didn't lack staffing. Also got the jackie's fav which was actually pretty good, loved esp the way the scallops and shrimp were cooked. The fish was dry. Side of mashed potatoes was delish as well. Wow. I've never gone from 4 stars to one star so fast. Well....we went back for a third time after our second visit, which was much better. But this third visit? We. Will. Never. Go. Back. Ever. We went in around 8:30pm on a beautiful summer evening. The deck was PACKED, but the bar was empty, so we decided to sit inside at the bar. We asked the gentleman behind the bar to put on the Red Sox game. Without even looking up or making eye contact, He told us they don't get the channel. We asked if he was sure, as he hadn't even made an attempt to look, and he threw the remote at us. Literally threw it. Once we found the channel, he finally asked us what we wanted to drink. It was CLEAR that he didn't want us there because he was getting ready to close up the bar, but the place wasn't supposed to close for at least an hour, so I didn't feel bad about sitting there. We get drinks. He had an accent, so in an attempt to make conversation, my father asked where he was from. His exact response was: "it doesn't matter where I'm from, just order your food." Ok. We asked for the tab and left. I spoke to a Manager on the way out. As a party of three, we were prepared to order three entrees, probably an appetizer or two, have several drinks and desserts. I came to Ogunquit for my honeymoon and decided to try Jackies Too on evening #2. The building itself is incredible and the view is absolutely magnificent. I am from Indiana so my goal for the week was to eat as much lobster as possible. However, Jackies Too was some of the worst lobster I have ever had in my life. It made me very sad because our waitress was so great and the meal presentation was extraordinary. But the seafood tasted like the seafood you could get at a restaurant located in the middle of a cornfield back home. I wish I would've ordered a cheeseburger (very hard to mess up). The ambience and view is spectacular but if your looking for GREAT MAINE SEAFOOD, DO NOT GO HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE. It's mind boggling that multiple restaurants within 45 second walking distance can have the best lobster EVER (not exaggerating) and Jackies Too was like this. :( Also my margarita was weak and blah. Ordered shrimp cocktail. $15. for 3 lonely shrimp, plopped on a plate with a tiny lettuce leaf. The tuna melt served with a $.20 bag of chips could be had in any low road diner. The server was gracious but even her manner betrayed that she was aware she was serving audaciously priced food. During this early season Jackie Too's is the only game in town as everything is still shuttered. Do yourselves a favor: pack a lunch and enjoy the beautiful ocean view. For free. read more

The menu is small, the waitstaff is cranky and the food is average. Why the 4 stars? The view and atmosphere is amazing. And at least everything is consistently mediocre, so you know what you are getting. First of all, know that they are absolutely serious about the 'no' substitution's rule that is printed all over the menus. There aren't many vegetarian options on the menu and if you ask that a dish be made with vegetables instead of fish ... As they say in Brooklyn, 'fughet about it!'. You will verbally bitchsmacked if you even ask. Our request was that grilled shrimp (on the menu) be put into the lobster roll bun vs. Lobster meat for a shrimp roll. We even were set to pay the same as a lobster roll but were still rebuffed. Seemed simple enough to do. I always get twin lobsters (no sharing ... says so right on the menu!!) Or the Lobster Bake which is in my opinion the best item and the best value on the menu. (See my other reviews). When in Maine why not get lobster, steamers, mussels and a crock of chowder in the same meal for $30? The menu is pretty small and they used to give you a wonderful basket of fresh rolls. Now it's just soggy Italian bread. Beer selection is small but fairly priced with a couple local beers on draft. The bathrooms are nasty here. I've been in highway rest stops with cleaner bathrooms. And the bathroom for a giant restaurant has only one toilet so there's usually an awkward wait. I realize this all sounds pretty bad. But despite it, we always come back as the view is fantastic and the food is okay. We always ask to be seated up against the rail in the outdoor section even if it takes a bit longer to fulfill the request. We've heard good things about the food at MC Perkins Cove next door which now has a roof deck, so we may be switching over if the food is better. Too many rules at Jackie's but worth it for the view of watching the waves roll in. read more

I really wanted to like Jackie's Too. From first impression, the place looked great. It was right on the water, had spectacular views and the staff seemed so welcoming. The host was incredibly friendly and convinced us to dine-in. (Aside from their killer specials. I mean $20 for TWO 1LB. LOBSTERS?! Unreal and unheard of, right?) We were seated outside overlooking the water which was so serene. We even had a little seagull hangout by us the entire dinner. He didn't squawk or anything, which was nice. Looking at the menu, everything looked great. I ended up ordering "Jackie's Favorite". I thought hey, if it's named after the restaurant or this "Jackie" person, it must be good! The dish was comprised of Shrimp, Sea Scallops and Haddock (a local fish) broiled in lemon butter and topped off with breadcrumbs. The service was efficient and before we knew it, our dinners were out. At first glance, my meal looked great. The Shrimp was seasoned well... definitely my favorite. However. The Haddock was overcooked and lacked the other seasoning the rest of the seafood had. Which okay, I can deal with. BUT the sea scallops. Someone clearly did not wash them thoroughly enough and there was sand/grain when I took a bite. Just like getting a bone in your fish, it just kinda ruins your appetite, you know? I thought maybe it was just one of them, but the scallops were consistently grainy. Not a fan. Other than the food, we had a nice time. My boyfriend and I were spending the weekend up in Portsmouth and decided to make the quick drive into Maine for some fresh lobster rolls. We read about a couple lobster shacks down by the water, but to our dismay we discovered they were closed for the season. By this time we were starving. As we were walking back to our car, we stumbled upon Jackies Too, the only place that seemed to be open around there. Sure enough they had lobster rolls on the menu for a decent price so went in. It's situated right on the water so the views are beautiful. We sat at the bar. He got a beer and I a glass of Pinot Grigio. Our food came out quickly. We started with the crab cakes which were crispy and packed full of delicious crab. Next we split a 1/2 pound lobster roll with fries which was perfect for the two of us. The lobster was incredibly fresh and the roll itself was yummy. We were a little worried about quality after glancing at some reviews, but luckily we were not disappointed. The service was okay. Overall, Jackies satisfied our goal of eating a fresh Maine lobster roll so we left quite happy! read more

My mom, sister and I had a great dinner here last night. We sat on the outside patio, which was chilly, but there is a large enclosed patio that would be warmer if you wanted. I had the blackened salmon on salad, my sister (on keto) had the Cobb salad and my mom had the Seafood Diablo. Everything was delicious. My mom has a certified NEADS hearing dog, and our waiter Daniel brought her a bowl of water which was sweet. He did an excellent job. We had a great experience so I wanted to review this spot since some of the reviews seemed mixed, which is surprising. Try it!!! read more

I rarely write reviews, but today's experience here deserves a special critique as an example of what NOT to do in food service. Put simply, don't spend your time and money here - you may experience less than satisfying food and service at the otherwise scenic Marginal Way/Perkins Cove. Read the other recent reviews here, and you will see a frequent common thread of poor customer service, inconsistent food preparation, and very poor management. This was more than confirmed on our visit today, when my wife received a mouthful of broken clamshell fragments that were fried inside the breaded clams she ordered. She nearly broke a tooth, and had to spit out the remainder into a napkin. Listen, I get that mistakes can happen. Bring it to your waitstaff's attention, and they will make some reasonable accommodation in service or re-preparation, right? Or at least have a manager stop over to acknowledge and apologize for the delivery of an unsatisfying meal, perhaps? Nope, none of those options. The manager directed her waitress that since my wife had apparently eaten the clams (the shell fragments happened at the end of the meal), that only a $3 refund for uneaten French fries remaining on her plate would be forthcoming. Apparently, the manager follows the creed of you-ate-it-you-own-it, and your table scraps are carefully measured and taken into account. Maybe my wife should have dumped the remains of her napkin for all to see. She did hand several shell pieces to the waitress. It was not about money for me, but rather about a poor meal being acknowledged. It was also not the waitress who was to blame, she was kind but looked like a deer in the headlights as she recited the well practiced "it happens" canned response provided by management. I felt horrible for her as she clearly was directed to provide this ridiculous explanation to us. I hope she finds a better job at a reputable restaurant. So if you decide to dine here, I wish you the best. A "marginal" rating is far more than I can provide based on our very unpleasant experience. read more

The only reason to give Jackie's Too 2 stars is for the view. The food is more expensive than other Perkins Cove restaurant and the food is lower quality. The only reason we come is my mother-in-law who is willing to put up with this place for the view. She likes to order the frozen mudslide drink & enjoy the view. On June 30th when she ordered one the waitress said they weren't serving frozen drinks yet this year...really? You guys know it's officially Summer right? If you're reading this, then you've already seen the average star ratings ..listen to them. Go across the street to Barnacle Billy's for a better restaurant or down the hill at Lobster Shack for a huge lobster roll. If you really want that view, take a short walk up the Marginal Way path right outside. It's much more impressive, free & enjoyable. read more

We are staying in Kennebunkport and thought it would be fun to see some new scenery. We drove to Ogunquit and landed at Jackie's Too. The scenery drew us in. And the scenery was its best asset. They were out of the beer my husband wanted. The crackers for the chowder were stale. The waitress was very unaccommodating with any special requests. Had to ask repeatedly to have our water refilled. And then I read the review regarding their dirty kitchen while I was waiting on my food. Yuck! All the food was very average. Bathrooms were disgusting and they didn't take Amex. Definitely would not go out of my way to dine here again. Too many other accommodation restaurants in the area with better food. 2 stars are for scenery. read more

Didn't even get a chance to eat here, but the hostess was so rude we immediately left. They will not let you sit until the whole party is there which is fine. We put our name on the list and waited for the rest of our party. While we were waiting my 4 year old nephew needed to use the bathroom. The hostess would not let us use the restroom because we didn't have a table yet and said they were going to give our table away if our party didn't get there. I had to drive to another place simply to use the bathroom since the restaurant we were waiting to eat at would not let a 4 year old use the bathroom. Lovely view , but that's where the story ends. When in main you expect to get the finest freshest high quality seafood, however, that is not the case. First, Slim pickings on healthy food. We opted for the shrimp cocktail, which came on a bed of shredded wilted iceberg lettuce. The shrimp cocktail was water logged. It was cooked and previously frozen, no taste. The cocktail sauce was gelatin like and slimy. Eh. Jackie's has never been the place for the best food but the views are great and the service is good. BUT of all the establishments in Ogunquit taking exquisite care during Covid, they aren't one of them. Manager/host Scott wore a mask hung loosely away from his face. The bartender had no mask. Until I spoke up- the. She put on on like S it's- about 6" from her face w the nose fully out. Same menus, no paper. No sanitizer visible. No one wearing gloves. I have to say I'm shocked by the how high the bar is set here in Ogunquit at restaurants and at retail stores. I'm so impressed and I've felt very comfortable- until now. Our server was super nice but that is where the positives end. Food was mediocre, not that many options. Beer list was short and populated by gimmicky things rather than good beers (something with blueberries, something with the word lobster in the name, we get it, its maine.) What was really beyond annoying was the apparent strict out door seating rules. We went when about 70% of tables were empty. That meant there were about 5 water front tables open. However, because we had a stroller, we had to sit by the wall of the restaurant. They said it was because the servers needed to get through. However, they removed two chairs from our table and put the stroller in their place. Why couldn't they do the exact same thing across the aisle? Do they tell people in wheel chairs that they can't sit in nice tables too? There was just no reason for it and it was super disappointing considering the point of that restaurant is to eat by the water and there were numerous open tables right there. Hubby and I are up from MA on our mini honeymoon. We were craving seafood for lunch and found our way to Perkins cove...very beautiful...but is rainy today so hope to explore more tomorrow. Service...ok...would give this only a 2 star rating bc we were given bare minimum needed. Food, we both ordered the lobster roll, and for 16$ eh was really a very small amount. However it WAS delicious! probably woulda felt better about it if it was only 10 or 12! French fries were ok and obviously prefrozen type. Drinks, we each got a margarita, and they were pretty good. Went here for my first whole lobster and it was delicious! Great view out on their deck looking over the water, but BEWARE of the lurking seagulls close to your table. Prices were reasonable but our waiter needed to take a refresher course on customer service...not only did he not know anything about the menu, he had to keep going inside and asking the chefs in the kitchen about food allergy info (C'mon you know it's a tourist trap restaurant atleast know what is safe from dairy and what the stuffed lobster comes stuffed with). I would seriously debate on going back but would request a better server that seems like they care and atleast smile now and again inside of looking like you wanna be anywhere else but at my table!
