A four star spot. with three star service, and horrendous food that deserves no stars at all. That's the bottom line at Jackie's. The Spot: A perfect place to look over the water and watch the sunset. It doesn't get any better in the area. The Service: A friendly wait staff could not overcome a clearly inept kitchen. We waited a long time for everything and in the end that wasn't a horrible thing because when the food eventually arrived - that's when the real horror began. The Food: Both the lobster bisque and the New England clam chowder tasted as if they had come out of one of those old school red Campbells soup cans and believe me, they weren't "mmm, mmm, good"! How do you screw up a lobster roll in Maine? Easy, cook the lobster until it is like rubber and bounce it onto a toasted hot dog roll. Serve with a .50 cent bag of Lays potato chips and you now have Jackie's secret recipe! Finally, the "shrimp scampi" was a combination of freezer burnt shrimp, on over cooked linguini, and smothered in a bad butter/garlic sauce. Try somewhere else, the view isn't worth it. read more

At 7:00pm on a beautiful Monday evening, we immediately got a table outside on the balcony overlooking the cove. We had a lovely evening. Friendly & flexible waiter. She was very happy for us to wait until AFTER we had FINISHED our appetisers before ordering entrees. Our chowder & bisque were very good - much better than what we had had in Portland & Bar Harbor earlier this week. For entree we had the salmon & Jacqui's Special. Well cooked seafood, plenty of it, with vegetables & fries. A delicious meal. It's a lovely spot overlooking the cove, efficient & friendly team on the floor, and good food. Great location on the water. Went for a late lunch in late March. Line at the door. We're not taking names. Not a huge deal but communication wasn't the best. Decent seafood place on the end of the Marginal Way walking path. I had a fried shrimp roll, which was pretty good. The shrimp wasn't too heavily battered, but it wasn't as big as I would expect for a seaside town. Maybe they have to import shrimp. The roll was good as well, and was just like a lobster roll roll. My tea, however, was obviously a mix. Just terrible. Our server was nice, but I've had better. The seating outside is good, and has a spectacular view, which is about the most I can say for a place as unremarkable as this. read more

We decided to stop by and grab something to eat at Jackie's Too during our visit to Maine. We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess and were seated within 5 minutes as the staff properly cleaned our table. Our waitress came right over and took our drink and food order. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We got our food fairly quickly from the time we ordered. The food was delicious and you could tell it was fresh. The restaurant was clean, the tables were separated by partitions due to COVID. I highly recommend trying Jackie's Too. read more

I know there are some bad reviews for this place, but we had a great experience here. To be fair we did order the house specialties, but my oh my, they were definitely special. I had the fried whole claims and the hubby had the lobster (yes lobster again ... ). Both were excellent! I had forgotten how incredible New England seafood can be. The whole belly clams were YUGE and meaty and full of oceany goodness, with a crispy covering that didn't overpower their amazing taste. Dear Jackie, I went to your restaurant for lunch with three friends yesterday. We just wanted to have a drink and some dessert. The host was hesitant to seat us at a table. We were going to sit at the bar but it was full so a table was our other option. We got sat and the waitress was also rude when she found out we only wanted a drink and dessert. I do t know if our money wasn't good enough for the staff or if they didn't want to accommodate four homosexual men but we were repeatedly judged for our menu choices and had an awkward experience overall. The icing on the cake was that the bill was 95 dollars with just drinks and dessert for 4 people. The waitress should have been happy because she got an 18 dollar tip for minimal work. We didn't check Yelp before coming here. We just looked at the menu and with 2 kids in tow, said "sure". We were very pleased. The service was beyond quick. Both daughters ate from the kids menu, one pasta with marinara and the other a grilled cheese. Both girls are their entire lunch! My husband had the lobster grilled cheese and said it was very good. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and really enjoyed it. The view was perfect and our service was very quick. This is an amazing restaurant at Perkins cove. We had an amazing seat right on the rocks with a lovely breeze from the ocean. I got the lobster roll and it was perfectly seasoned and the right amount of mayo and a decent amount of lobster. I would highly recommend this place to stop by when at Perkins. Stopped in for dinner after checking out the menu online. We didn't wait too long to be seated. The view is phenomenal. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I was surprised at how quickly we got our drinks, salads, and entrées. I ordered the Broccolli chicken pasta in a Parmigiano cheese sauce and it was delicious. I feel like this is a very fairly priced restaurant for the view it has. The restaurant itself is very well maintained and has the potential of being more upscale. However, the reason for the 4 stars is that for an upscale place, why do the menus have typos??? And I think wrapping the silverware in paper napkins is kind of cheap. Linen looks nicer in my opinion. And also, water is served in plastic diner style cups. Ew. I think it needs improvements but I overall enjoyed the atmosphere and food. read more

The service was horrible. The hostess was yelling at customers and was extremely rude along with the waiters too. The food took a long time, it was cold when it came and it did not taste good. Brussel sprouts were covered in sauce and we burnt. Mac and cheese was KRAFT. My burger was burnt and I asked for medium and no one at my table enjoyed the food. Upon arrival in this quaint coastal community Perkins Cove, our thought was to dine at the famous Barnacle Bills Restaurant. Upon entering Barnacle Bills, we realized it wasn't what we were looking for. It was 3:30 and we we're going to have late lunch / early dinner before checking into our hotel. We were extremely happy at Jackie too's, located on the ocean overlooking the famous marginal way walkway . The lobster specials were fairly priced, meat tender and sweet ! The blackened chicken wrap was excellent. Good selection of seafood and non seafood items! The special, beef chili was delicious, perfectly spiced, and a nice welcome on a chilly day. Don't hesitate to try it in this town, even though it's noted for its seafood! One quick note.. be prepared to pay for parking. Parking lots by restaurants have meters and there's no free parking at Perkins Cove. Only complaint.. they served a bag of lays potato chips with their sandwiches..Really?!! The food here is very good and the service is fine. I had the clam chowder and it was excellent. I found getting only about a cup for $6 a bit over priced. Also, paying $1.95 for 6 ounces of tap soda normally gets you free refills. My advice, sip slowly. read more
