Stopped by for a drink as I recently learned they have $5 martinis on Tuesdays only. The bartenders were not very attentive, but nice enough. It was likely due to a private event that was happening simultaneously. I tried the lemon drop and espresso martinis. Both were good, but I feel like they only gave me 3 oz as opposed to a standard drink size. The restaurant is nicely decorated and they have a nice patio. We had the focaccia, baby bell peppers, squash blossom, and Caesar salad. The bell peppers were our favorite, followed by the focaccia, the salad, then the squash. I'd highly recommend the bell peppers, so much flavor in each bite. The Caesar and focaccia were also really good. Everything we had tasted super fresh. I could have done without the squash blossom. Beautifully decorated dining room and patio by the water! I was here for dinner and the staff took great care of our group of five. We each picked an item off the entree menu, which features some familiar dishes, like steak frites and Jackie Burger, and then some interesting ones, like the dill linguini and beet ravioli which I ordered. I thought the ravioli dish was delicious and I made sure to soak up as much of the brown butter sage on the plate as I could. Someone else at our table got the dill linguine and also liked the dish. The one thing about the ravioli is that it is a small portion, which aligns with the other reviews about the portion sizes. It would probably pair well with an "share dish" or dessert if you need more food. Amongst the five of us it was easy to split the check. For instance, the waffle, was only half a waffle, and personally I prefer my Belgian waffles to be a little more crispy. I did enjoy the tea options. Service was good. The customer service was also fantastic--warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. That said, I'd love to see the food menu reworked. The selections felt a bit scattered and confusing, and unfortunately, the dishes just didn't live up to the overall atmosphere. We weren't the only ones who felt this way--several other nearby tables seemed to be echoing the same sentiment. We were looking for something to eat before our alumni holiday party, and this was worked out. There wasn't much of a wait. We got seated right away. As far as parking, it's scarce. However, the chicken was doused in buffalo sauce, which made the waffle soggy and drenched with buffalo sauce. If you get this, I would ask for the chicken on the side. I also ordered green tea and they put the hot water in the cutest tea pot. The service was phenomenal! As soon as you walk through the door, the hostess took our coats to hang them up. The manager also came to our table and talked to us. Everyone was so friendly. The ambiance was spectacular. It felt like a little cafe in Paris. Discovered Jackie's after searching for a restaurant near our hotel out in Navy Yard. It was a quick 10 min walk from the Cambria. We got there right around 6:30 and were able to get a seat at the bar. It started getting really busy right around 7:30. They do take reservations, so keep that in mind. At the bar, we were taken care of by our bartender David. He was absolutely amazing. He made awesome drinks, even created a few of his own based on our liquor preference. He also was very efficient. As mentioned, the place started getting packed and he was the only bartender. Didn't miss a beat. Well done! As for the food, we both enjoyed our meals. David also was able to help us make good selections from the menu. They have a wide variety of American classics. It seems like they may switch out their menus, so what you order may not be available next month. I'm sure there are items that remain on the menu. I'd just ask to see just in case you fall in love with a particular dish. Loved the entire experience at Jackie's from the service, to the vibe, to the food!! We will be back. read more

Service was lackluster from the start -- no one asked for my steak temperature, which is kind of a baseline expectation at a restaurant like this. The Valentine's menu itself also felt weirdly low-effort. The dishes didn't feel thoughtful or elevated, just thrown together for the occasion without much care. For a prix fixe meant to feel special, it missed the mark. This sits by the water and the ambiance is very nice with chill cool vibe. The service is on point without bending obtrusive but the food is the highlight her. I had the artic char. This is very similar to salmon but has a thinner skin that if properly cooked becomes the perfect crispy foil for the fish. Here it is cooked to perfection and the fish is just cooked enough barley rare. Perfection. It was served with some nice local veggies and light Lemon based sauce. The seafood linguini was also well thought out and cooked. First of all the linguini is a black linguini nicely al dente and with jus the right amount of sauce. The dish is chock full of shrimp (very fresh) mussels, clams, and scallops. And excellent version of this dish. Not an extensive wine list but enough. The list beer is actually better and more well rounded. read more

I stopped by with some friends on a beautiful Fall day and sat outside on the patio to enjoy the view. The cheese board and meatball appetizer were delicious and always my go to. Was pleasantly surprised with the food at Jackie's. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious (I even forgot to take a pic until I was already halfway through) and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. Kinda like McDonald's fries but way better quality & a massive portion. I got the house punch to drink (the flavor I had was passion fruit) and for $10, it did the job. The restaurant is beautiful inside/outside, it felt almost like I was in Italy or somewhere very peaceful! Our server was very attentive and kept coming up to us to check on how everything was doing. My only quarrel with Jackie's is I do recommend dressing up if you are going to dine in. My friend and I were wearing t shirts & leggings and they seemed to serve us faster than the other customers. To add, when the general manager was doing her rounds and checking up on the other tables- she went to every other table except ours! We were in town on vacation and went to a Nats game. After the game we wanted a place to get a bite to eat and wait out the crowd for our Uber, so we stopped in here. We immediately got a fantastic spot at the bar and an amazing person, Leyu, greeted us despite the fact she was deep in the weeds balancing patio and restaurant service bar requests. The food was rich in flavor, but Leyu's skills and attentiveness made us feel welcome, special, and relaxed. When we're back in the area, we would definitely seek her out again. I hope the leadership team understands they have a diamond on their hands who can build a loyal fan base while also making anyone who walks in the door feel welcome - no matter where they come from. For example, my server checked in repeatedly after I'd already said everything was great. Additionally, after reading other reviews, I noticed the owner often responds to negative feedback with sarcasm and defensiveness rather than professionalism or accountability. This attitude speaks volumes about the restaurant's leadership and priorities.
