    Irish Poutine
    Dave E.

Stopped for a quick dinner after a checking in from a long day of driving and 2 beers in the clubhouse bar!! My wife enjoyed a grilled chicken sandwich (honey mustard sauced) and I had the Ale & Cheddar Potato Soup + Irish Poutine. The sandwich was good but the soup and poutine were fabulous! I love hearty soups so the Ale & Cheddar soup was great. Loaded with good Cheddar it was hard to keep it both on my spoon and off my chin and shirt! Great taste!! The Poutine was great as well served over wedge fries. Could've used more jalapeño (hey, it's Texas!) but it was really tasty. Altho a bit on the pricy side (it's a Marriott) it was filling and very tasty.

Seared Scallops and Lemon Risotto. The risotto was not citrus-y at all and had a very rich taste. Very beautifully done.

Stayed at the Mariott where Jackdaw is located. Most of their clients seem to be people traveling for business. Jackdaw seems to be more busy on the weekdays so the there wasn't much of a weekend crowd when we ate here! My wife and I ended up sharing a few different dishes and were very pleasantly surprised! The pretzel bites appetizer was fresh and soft. The brussel sprouts were a great blend of salty, sweet, and savoury! The baked potato soup was great, and my favorite out of all was the Scallop Risotto! The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto was beautifully rich! Drinks were also reasonably priced! If you're a local, definitely give this place a try! The hotel has its own parking lot so you won't have to worry about looking for parking! Just to be safe, call ahead to see if you'll need a reservation. Great place for a date and very friendly staff!

We go to Jack Daw often. It's a local favorite. We have tried just about everything in the menu. Our only thing that changed for us today was the charcuterie, it just didn't live up to the normal standard. Good. Just not it's normal presentation.

In the Marriott. Front desk people greeted us. Other random friendly employees told me where the bathroom was after I got up and started looking around for a second. Upbeat music. Good lighting. Good neighborhood. Across from Dallas Ft Worth Speedway. Delicious drink that the bartender made me. Hubby got a reuben. I got a salad that starts with a C. I forget. ....This drink is so good. We are sitting by the window. Overlooking the golf course. We are sitting at a table. I see people sitting at the bar. There is sports on the bar televisions. Conscientious, friendly staff. Upbeat place.

My third visit, and I'm officially impressed. Manager Annette and Ms. Toni orchestrated the full-to-overflowing dining room with more than the average number of large parties: groups of gamers (Root, Catan, more), teams decompressing after a week of solar car competition, golfers just in from the links. Great food, service so good that no one waited for anything, and a bar scene that hopped. Who knew that a hotel restaurant could be this well managed, let alone this successful? Thanks

Located in the Marriott hotel. The service was excellent and very friendly. They made sure that for my colleagues the drinks kept flowing. My initial order they ran out of, so I had to select something else. I had the filet which they butterflied; not sure why. I had ordered medium and it was well done. My salad was pretty bland. It's convenient to come here when in a pinch, but likely not a first choice for any reason.

Five stars for service from Toni... I've never seen anyone running like she did on a busy race nascar night (with a restaurant packed of customers). Despite the kitchen running behind .. she was positive and upfront as soon as we sat down. This lady is manager material and cares as if this was her own restaurant. As far as the food 3.5 stars .. The grilled fish taco was bland but expected for bar food. The Mac and cheese was better but needed more salt. Toni is great and a very valuable employee.

The music selection and volume were equally well done, balanced in a way that felt welcoming to every generation. At one point, I almost felt like I had stepped into the bar scene from *The Shining*, not in a creepy sense, but in that nostalgic, timeless atmosphere kind of way. The Old Fashioned was prepared exactly right, especially with my request for lighter bitters since I do not enjoy it overly sweet. Many places miss that balance, but they nailed it here. The charcuterie board was easily one of the best I have had. The mozzarella and white cheddar were perfectly portioned, fresh, and rich. The green apple slices tasted incredibly fresh, like they had just been picked from the orchards of Apple Hill in California. The honeycomb was a first for me on a board and made the experience especially memorable. The artwork throughout the space also adds a unique character that I always appreciate in a restaurant. The prosciutto was a little tough but still had good flavor, while the Calabrese was spot on. Service was professional and attentive, with frequent check-ins throughout the evening. My only recommendation would be for servers to introduce themselves, as that small touch makes the experience feel more personal and welcoming rather than simply transactional.

Atmosphere is nice and open with plenty of bar seats as well as communal high tops and standalone tables. Nice outdoor patio when Texas weather permits! Tried a couple of their beers: Miso Smooth (Japanese rice lager - 5.5% ABV) and Soul Fire Ultra Light (American Light Lager - 3.7 ABV / 15 IBU). Both decent enough for what they were, the latter being helped by the fact it was only $3 a pint. For food, tried the newly opened Zaep Zaep Thai joint. Had the Thai Basil Combo Fried Rice and an order of Spring Rolls. Seriously good stuff! Unexpected quality for a food court! The chef (owner?) also came into the bar to check to see if our food was to our liking. Definitely a nice touch and I wish him much success. Olivia's Scratch Kitchen serving African cuisine was the only other option open. Was a tough decision and hopefully will be back soon to try their offerings! There was also a cupcake place (Kid Kakes) that seems to get great reviews, but with Oak St Pie Company just a few doors down... well... sorry Kid Kakes! At only 20 years old, the bartender did a great job serving us and was more genuinely personable than many who have done the similar job for years. All-in-all a great impulse decision after The Original Roy Hutchins BBQ line ended up being far too long to wait in!

On our recent visit, we ordered the cheese pizza and were surprised to learn that the cheese blend includes provolone. Unfortunately, we are not fans of the sharper flavor, so it was not a good fit for us. That said, we absolutely loved the crust and the way the pizza was cooked. If not for the provolone, it would have been a home run. One area where I think there is room for improvement is pricing. While we understand that costs have gone up, some items felt a bit expensive. For example, I just cannot justify spending $17 on tiramisu. Overall, this is a charming neighborhood restaurant with good food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I am interested to see what the new ownership brings and wish them success as they begin this next chapter.

Place has a family, local vibe and it's very refreshing and relaxing. Food: I had takeout knots and pasta, delicious. Made to order, quick, veggies and chicken were great. Knots were so good even reheated the next day! Second time we visited the establishment, food was even better, we got free knots (still delicious), we got small pizza and small calzone.
