Located inside the Marriott, this bar/restaurant is the go to place for those who don't have a rental car, don't want to Uber, or just tired and want a bite. First night had a ribeye steak, steamed veggies, mash potatoes. The food was hot, good, but like most ribeyes - tend to be a little fatty. 2nd night, burger and sweet potato fries. Good combo. Stopped for a quick dinner after a checking in from a long day of driving and 2 beers in the clubhouse bar!! My wife enjoyed a grilled chicken sandwich (honey mustard sauced) and I had the Ale & Cheddar Potato Soup + Irish Poutine. The sandwich was good but the soup and poutine were fabulous! I love hearty soups so the Ale & Cheddar soup was great. Loaded with good Cheddar it was hard to keep it both on my spoon and off my chin and shirt! Great taste!! The Poutine was great as well served over wedge fries. Could've used more jalapeño (hey, it's Texas!) but it was really tasty. Stayed at the Mariott where Jackdaw is located. Most of their clients seem to be people traveling for business. Jackdaw seems to be more busy on the weekdays so the there wasn't much of a weekend crowd when we ate here! My wife and I ended up sharing a few different dishes and were very pleasantly surprised! The pretzel bites appetizer was fresh and soft. The brussel sprouts were a great blend of salty, sweet, and savoury! The baked potato soup was great, and my favorite out of all was the Scallop Risotto! The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto was beautifully rich! Drinks were also reasonably priced! If you're a local, definitely give this place a try! The hotel has its own parking lot so you won't have to worry about looking for parking! Just to be safe, call ahead to see if you'll need a reservation. Great place for a date and very friendly staff! read more

This restaurant was either understaffed or completely disorganized. No one greeted us to sit even though there was a sign that said to wait. Finally asked the bartender and they said to sit anywhere. We love you Toni Let me tell you why We booked Marriott last minute on a trip passing through Dallas. Toni not only took our drink order, but made our cocktails to perfection. The food was excellent! Toni suggested that we go with the local beef. It was worth the extra $ Toni gave us background on the local beef producers. She made our last minute stay into an experience. My third visit, and I'm officially impressed. Manager Annette and Ms. Toni orchestrated the full-to-overflowing dining room with more than the average number of large parties: groups of gamers (Root, Catan, more), teams decompressing after a week of solar car competition, golfers just in from the links. In the Marriott. Front desk people greeted us. Other random friendly employees told me where the bathroom was after I got up and started looking around for a second. Upbeat music. Good lighting. Good neighborhood. Across from Dallas Ft Worth Speedway. Delicious drink that the bartender made me. Hubby got a reuben. I got a salad that starts with a C. I forget. ....This drink is so good. The atmosphere and the bar tender are great! Unfortunately it goes down from there. We got our drinks and appetizer pretty quickly. Then we waited over 30 minutes to order our food. While we were waiting to order, the one waiter in the whole place came and took several of our menus because they needed them for another table. No worries, we aren't in a huge hurry. When we finally received our food, another 30-45 minutes later, it was not cooked properly. They clearly need more help! The guy here was incredibly nice, professional and running from tables to the bar to try to take care of everyone. So if you are in charge, maybe schedule more people on a Saturday night. Went on St Patrick's day. Good service and food came out quick. Corn beef was pretty good and so was the scallops.

Located in the Marriott hotel. The service was excellent and very friendly. They made sure that for my colleagues the drinks kept flowing. My initial order they ran out of, so I had to select something else. I had the filet which they butterflied; not sure why. I had ordered medium and it was well done. My salad was pretty bland. It's convenient to come here when in a pinch, but likely not a first choice for any reason. read more

Five stars for service from Toni... I've never seen anyone running like she did on a busy race nascar night (with a restaurant packed of customers). Despite the kitchen running behind .. she was positive and upfront as soon as we sat down. This lady is manager material and cares as if this was her own restaurant. As far as the food 3.5 stars .. The grilled fish taco was bland but expected for bar food. The Mac and cheese was better but needed more salt. Toni is great and a very valuable employee. read more

Came across this online and figured we would give it a try... thank goodness we did! Great atmosphere and food!! Had to try the irish poutine first and it was delish, I had fish and chips that were fab! Hubs had the corned beef plate with smashed red potatoes and sautéed veggies... so good I am ordering next time!!! Decided to give this place a try. It's fairly new and in the lobby of the Marriott. Nice furnishings and decor. The atmosphere is a little loud but not unbearably so. We ordered the scotch eggs, soda bread and pimento, the potato soup, and the mac and cheese. I didn't care for the flavor of the sausage in the Scotch eggs but my husband thought it was ok. The soda bread needed to be toasted a bit more but all 3 pieces we had weren't toasted very evenly. The potato soup needed lots of salt added but was otherwise ok. I had a glass of the Simi but it tasted like it had been opened for a few days, and I didn't finish it. The best thing we had was the mac and cheese. The dish was big enough to split between us considering all the other food we tried. The server was friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is that all of the food practically came out at the same time, which is an annoying inconvenience but not a complete deal breaker. read more

I'm completely at a loss how this restaurant has such a high rating. The restaurant is really just an extension of the bar. We had to ask if the seating area was actually the restaurant. Our table didn't even have salt or pepper. Our appetizer, the lamb meatballs, were tough with something of a skin around the meatball. There was no sign of the promised goat cheese. The yoghurt tasted like a vanilla yoghurt with an odd seasoning. The lingonberry sauce was far too sweet for the dish. In short it was awful. The Caesar salad with Brussel sprouts was ok. My salmon was quite dry and served with a risotto which was really a wet microwaved instant rice. My wife's burger was very salty and had bacon which tasted of nothing and onions which also had no flavor at all. Service consisted of three people to run the restaurant and bar. The waiters were too stretched and the service suffered. read more

Work evenings near so I thought I would get a burger to go. The burger did have a better flavor than the fast food joints around, but the problem was I had to ask for condiments and utensils. When I got back to the office the the fries had kind of lost there firmness. Overall the burger beat the other vendors in the area. read more

The 5 stars is for the staff (and the food is darn good too). I have to come to Texas for work, and nothing against Texas, but I hate it. I came across this hotel because I wanted a Marriott and a bar along with it. Let me tell you, the bartenders, Annette and Toni, are AMAZING. For someone who is a "home body", I really feel like they care about me ( and I know they do). Along with the front desk crew (which I've talked to for hours after coming here multiple times a year). The rooms are on the upside of "as expected" (Platinum Elite member). Home away from home especially when it's a place you have no desire to be at. The staff is just great. I think this is my first review ever, and I never give my opinions for free. In this case, I had to. The word needs to be out about these wonderful folks because they deserve it. read more

It was fine. It is all the ambiance of every hotel bar I've ever been in. They didn't have any craft cocktails (or cocktail menu at all). The Old Fashioned was syrupy and warm, but okay after I let the ice dilute. The reuben was decent, but also $17. Overall, it's a fine restaurant if you're staying in the hotel and really don't want to go a half mile down the road to a proper restaurant, but I guess I just don't get the love they have on Yelp (unless they used to be markedly better). read more

I often stay at this Property when I'm in town for business. Ms. Tone at the Jackdaw treats me like I'm one of her close friends.
