Wise Guys Pizzaria in Roanoke is the bomb! I'm a pizza snob so I'm extremely picky when it comes to pizza. The crust was as perfect as one can get to a Naples, Italy, derum semolina dough. (That's the one without the unbleached enriched white flour American products use.) I had the hand tossed original crust, specifically with white sauce, chicken, onion, mushrooms, asiago, mozzarella and parmesian. Delicioso! The house white wine in Cloe du Bois....very nice. The house red is Dark Horse cab. Jordan was my server. I loved her service, knowledge, and laid back professionalism. Her hair is gorgeous: long and black. She recognized me as soon as I walked in, despite being otherwise preoccupied. I appreciated that. While the inside is low-lighting, the ceilings are extremely high. There are several TVs tuned to sports. While there is a small patio out front along the street, the better one is the larger, covered patio (door found near the bar). There's a patio indoor/outdoor wooden Barton counter that is encompassed by the bar with raised windows on good weather days. There's plenty of tables on this back patio as well. read more

The next morning after having my home from College son provided ( order&paid for)our family's dinner! I was able to see the amount of money spent!! I'll say don't usually go delivery from a new place, especially if you don't want have the experience my family had by one of those delivery sites that offer delivery from you all. This is an unfortunate experience that I am dealing with. Had to share our experience also app said a closing time that I wondered how they would pull it off. I would've been more happy had the order not gone thru due to timing. But this is my own opinion of food and delivery that was NOT what he paid for. Rounding up here probably more like 3.5...but the service was really good. 6pm on Friday (day after Thanksgiving) for a quick dinner. Seated immediately, location was about 1/2 full. Bartender/Manager(?) took our drink order and brought garlic knots to snack on. Nice touch, guess this is like offering dinner rolls...? Either way, they were good and much appreciated. Decent selection of beers and even a few craft options avaliable too. Bar area was buzzing during our visit and it appears they have some drink specials throughout the week. They were showing the NFL game, so good spot to catch a game too. Seating is a mix of tables and booths, and a bar in the back corner. We ordered 2 personal pizza options (4 slices, 8 inch), 1 was a custom order and other was their menu offering with spicy marinara, sausage, jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. Pizzas arrived pretty quickly. The crust was larger than expected and was a little more doughy than expected. Not bad, just not what we were expecting for hand-tossed crust options. Toppings were appropriate, so no concerns there. The pizza was good, not great, no complaints...just average pizza, similar to what you might get from a delivery pizza place. The server was really good and seemed to be covering the entire place, and yet she stopped by multiple times to check on us and refill glasses. We grabbed takeout from Wise Guys Pizza in Roanoke, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Super quick turnaround time, which is always a plus when you're hungry. The pizzas themselves were great--especially the Hot Honey, which has an amazing sweet/spicy balance that really stands out. The Mobster, while flavorful, was a little too strong for our taste, but that's more about personal preference than execution. I really wanted this place to be decent. The floors were really filthy. The pizza was so awful my son didn't eat it. He eats pizza from little Caesar's etc. he's not snobby. Came in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of space indoors and on the patio. I was promptly seated and then greeted by my server. Ordered my usual godfather (works) pizza. Service was great; attentive but not intrusive. The garlic knots were a tasty treat ahead of my pizza. And my pizza was terrific, as usual! Wise Guys is delivering tasty pizzas overall but don't be persuaded by the names as the Flamethrower "spicy" pizza wasn't spicy at all and our Chicago Joe had more heat but the crust and ingredients all tasted good so I'd still give a 4 star for flavor. Drinks from the bar are ok and service was enough but note for the business and yelpers, the yelp site says if you check in you get a gelato scoop, our waitress informed us they hadn't had gelato for years. We asked if they had any dessert and she brought out a scoop of vanilla ice cream and charged me $3 for it. Definitely need to update the yelp site and do better on customer relations when the business can't honor published agreements. read more

We have been meaning to try Wise Guys for a long time, and we are so glad that we did! We brought our pups along to make a "family adventure" out of it. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The dog friendly patio is spacious and has plenty of propane heat lamps for the unpredictable Texas winters. They have a rotating tap with lots of craft beers to choose from. And the food...wow! The food is delicious! There are lots of Italian options to choose from...pizza, sandwiches, calzones. The food is cleverly themed with "gangster" names. And the flavors are delicious! We went to this restaurant because we were driving through Roanoke and it was a fantastic decision. I was overwhelmed by the variety of pizzas but the hot honey pizza stuck out to me. I don't remember the clever name they called it. I was skeptical about the goats cheese but glad I chose it! It was so good and I ate the remaining piece today and still good reheated! Wiseguys has a staff that is attentive without being overbearing. We have had just about every dish on the menu. We have never had anything bad at this place. It is a great local hangout!! Since we live close this is our favorite location now. If you dine in they'll give you the absolutely best garlic knots to keep you at bay while you wait for your pizza. The wait staff is always right on point and so friendly. Now the pizza is hand tossed and that dough is unbelievably good. Decided to take a little extra drive to try a "new to us" place in my favorite restaurant town - Roanoke. This pizza was fantastic! The crust has such good flavor and the ingredients were so fresh. I don't normally like meat on my pizza and prefer veggie but the pictures of the Don All Meat just looked amazing so I added some artichokes and onions and gave it a try. Delicious!! Cooked to perfection. Worth the drive and I wasn't the only one who thinks it is great, the to-go line was hopping busy!! Also picked up the kids Mac and Cheese for my little girl and she loved it.
