Me and my gf stopped by and got some Spicy Miso Ramen and Fried Gyoza. They were quick to sit us down, and provided great service, but did take a bit to provide the tab. It was a nice and small place and quiet. The food was great, but I feel like the soft drinks were too carbonated. Other than that, it's a good place to stop by and enjoy some warm ramen.
Tried this place for the first time a few days ago -- I ordered chicken katsu ramen and chicken karaage to go. The ramen was tasty -- came with a soft boiled egg, corn, seaweed, cabbage, green onion and decent noodles. The chicken katsu absorbed the broth which was delicious. The broth itself was rich and savory but not too salty. The chicken karaage was basically crispy chicken pieces -- the portion was large but I was very disappointed to find no spicy Mayo for dipping and minimal matcha salt on the chicken. I attempted to call the restaurant but they were already closed unfortunately. Given the good ratings, my expectations were definitely higher. It likely would have been a solid 4 stars if order was accurately given.
A beautiful little place out in Laveen! The food is delicious, I am a big fan of Ramen and Ja Ramen did not disappoint. Ive come here twice now. The Miso Ramen was amazing the first time. The second visit I got a Miso Dumpling Ramen bowl and that was also delicious!! One small downside is the service. They are very friendly but seem short staffed and the food does take a little longer than normal to prepare. Luckily, they have entertaining anime shows playing on the big screen to pass the time. 4.5/5.0 stars easy!
Went with a couple friends since one of them highly recommended this place for ramen. Ordered the miso ramen, takoyaki, and chicken karaage. All of them tasted great and no complaints as well. Friend got the katsu ramen and the presentation on that looked great. Also got the hot green matcha tea, but that was alright though. The service was friendly and quick. The ambiance of the restaurant is very modern with some Japanese decor. Overall, a good sit down place to enjoy a meal with a couple friends or family members.
While on the lonely 202 south from the west, which is great because the traffic is minimal, stop off here at Ja Ramen. The food is , quick to arrive & very good. Tried the tonkonosu ramen; creamy with lots of flavor, thinner noodles than I usually get, good portion, little fatty pork but it is "pork belly". Tried "Macha" hot for the 1st time, it's good. Joseph is a one man show, the man doesn't stop, very attentive, cares about the place & how customers enjoy their meal. Great job Joseph & thank you. I will be back.
Ja Ramen is a vibey little place that's proven to be a great addition to Laveen's growing restaurant scene. They offer yummy eats and a limited drink menu, including cocktails. Since there aren't many places to grab an actual cocktail in Laveen, this makes them a great adult dining option. However, they are family friendly as well, so don't be afraid to bring the littles. Ja has a good selection of appetizers, which are already reasonably priced. However, you can save a few bucks with happy hour pricing until 6 PM (weekdays I believe). I tried their chicken karaage for the first time, which was absolutely delicious. They dust it with matcha powder and serve it with spicy mayo. Yum! I ate this as my entree and it's really two full meals. Add white rice and it could be more like three meals. My daughter and I shared fried gyoza, which were yummy, and she opted for miso ramen with pork belly. The ramen is also easily two meals, unless you're really hungry. The service here is pretty solid. I did notice during this particular visit that it took a long time to get my final bill and check out, but to their credit, it was a busy night. Overall, I was happy with the way we were treated during our visit. Thanks, Ja staff.
Deeeeeeelicious! Went today with my boyfriend and we loved it! We got the squid salad as an app, and the curry ramen and tonkatsu ramen! Both were delicious, perfect egg! It was busy when we went and service was helpful and nice! The restaurant is so cute!! Perfect for a bowl of ramen before Christmas. Prices were great! I think this may be our new fav ramen joint. I think from 2-5 or something it's $2 off apps, and while we did order an appetizer when we got the bill it was regular price. Our bad for not speaking up, but we also didn't really care. The food was good, and we were okay with paying for tasty food. We will be back!
Shockingly found an amazing Ramen shop in Laveen. We were seated right away and the staff greeted us all. They were all so kind and helpful. I saw lots of great reviews for Ja Ramen so on one of my last nights in Arizona, we decided to try them out. I've been 3rd degree burned before by Asian restaurants in Arizona so this was a gamble for me. I went with the classic Tonkatsu to test the bar. They also have seafood and chicken ramen. Plus vegetarian and vegan options. Let alone a seperate page for Japanese Curry. What we loved is that they have a "naked ramen" which is just noodles and broth for a reasonable price. Then you can add whatever you wanted. It seemed very popular with the kids around us. We have only one good ramen shop in Colorado, which we frequent. Ja Ramen is a legit co-winner in our books. Savory, packed with ingredients and flavor. The tonkatsu pork was thick, buttery, and delicate. Their chili oil packs a kick. And again the service is amazing. Don't miss out! I'm keeping the on the list for when we return.
Let me start off by saying the food was tasty We walked in at 130. The music was loud and not the type of music I want to hear during lunch. One of the songs was Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend was Hot Like Me. WhileI like that type of music, again it's not something I want to hear while I'm eating my lunch.. An employee came to ask us what we would like to drink. I asked if he had Diet Coke and when he looked, he said we're out of Diet Coke. Then we both asked for unsweetened iced tea. When he brought it to us, we realized it was green tea. I had to ask if they had some type of other tea, perhaps Lipton ice tea. She did so she brought us what we wanted. BTW - the tea was out of a bottle. I asked for fake sugar. She brought me real sugar when I asked for fake sugar, again, she said she didn't know if they had fake sugar. She went to go check. She came back and said that her manager said all they had was honey.. She then brought us our appetizers, but no plates. I had to ask for plate plates. We got our food, it was hot and it was good. Lastly, she brought the box out so I could pay and she added that they could not accept tips electronically, only by cash. Unfortunately, for her, I did not have any cash. She said that was OK. Would I come here again? Probably not.
ONE OF LAVEENS FINEST! This is one of my favorite Laveen restaurants! A small, cute, and aesthetically pleasing designed restaurant with delicious food and drinks. They have really good happy hour deals, so definitely come during the week. I've had good service every time I've been here. Even when I had some party members running late, a kind server would come over right away to get their drink order as soon as they came in. I've tried about half of their appetizers and they were all good! I don't even live in Arizona anymore, but when I visit I stay with family near Laveen and always hit this place up with friends or family!
I've been here a dozen times and I've always been happy. Food is great quality staff is attentive. P.S. Don't tell anybody cause I don't wanna lose my seat at the bar
Our first time here and we were not sure what to expect, it smelled amazing when we walked in the door. The decor is so pretty and makes you feel like you enter a different world. We really enjoyed the food it was very flavorful and before this I used to not like ramen ! We got 1 order to the tempura udon noodles, 1 order of gyoza and 1 order of chicken curry for $40, which is not bad at all ! The service was quick and friendly, we will be returning and trying other menu items !
Good quality everything. Very enjoyable food, and the staff are the best, genuinely nice. Food is good, staff is great.

I've been here more than a dozen times and I always love it!! I always order Fried Gyozas & the Chicken Karrage with spicy mayo is AMAZING. The ramen I always order is Chicken Katsu ramen!! There's not much in the Laveen, AZ in the way of good food, so I was really excited to try this restaurant. When I walked in, I wasn't even greeted. I sat at the bar which the chairs are way too short for, so my head was barely above the bar. I was not greeted but just tossed a wood QR code for the menu. I ordered an iced-t and she started making me a hot tea. The food is exceptional some of the best curry Ramen I've ever had in my life. But the bartender never asked me how I was doing. I had to ask the other server for a refill on my tea and then I had to ask to for the check 5 minutes after she cleared my bowl. Might give it another shot and not sit at the bar, but I'm hoping that the bartender gets a personality, is attentive and puts the customer first over her side work. I'm tired of tipping 20% for a person to walk a bowl of ramen to the table. 5 star food 1 star service read more

As Laveen continues to develop, the greatest and coolest thing is seeing new restaurants come into town. The atmosphere here is totally like a an Asian vibe, from Anime on the screens, to decor. Wouldn't even think this would feel like it does. Cool little spot for a date night. Service we good, took care of things right away and served quick. It really was more detailed oriented and super awesome! The food was great, definitely a spot that we will visit again! Flavors were also great, the spice in the chili oil and the food was amazing. Super packed when we got there. But was able to get served at bartop immediately. Nice little neon lights around the restaurant. Got the gyoza, Karaage & Tonkotsu. Gyoza was alright nothing special. Karaage was loaded but at price point of $13, it better be. Aside the point, was definitely very juicy, wished was a bit crispier, spicy mayo was also solid. The ramen was very solid Broth: nice flavor profile, wish it was creamier Noodles: Biased on the skinnier noodles, so those were fire Egg: Had a nice sweet taste to it, and was made properly with a more firm profile than runny (90/10) Meat: authentic slab of fat Chashu, made well, wished it had more seasoning but very solid Definitely best ramen spot in the south/ west side of the valley. Tried Ja Ramen here in Laveen for the first time and would recommend to always ask for the hotest spice they got. or add 5 scoops of chili oil like we did to the Miso Dumpling ramen. Overall flavor and vibe is amazing. I just prefer spicy. . I got the Chicken Katsu Curry but make it hot and it was the perfect amount of spicy They offer 3 heat options. . Pass on the Matcha Sumo-ki cocktail though. It was a 2/5 on flavor for me. read more

Food: 4/5 So glad there's a Japanese restaurant with decent ramen near the west valley! Chicken karaage is a must. I've never had it with matcha powder so it was interesting and I couldn't stop eating it. Chicken pieces are large, perfect amount of breading and crunch, and wasn't overly dry (could be a bit more tender/juicier) Takoyaki is a must for me and this place did it well! Chicken katsu curry was my favorite here, I haven't had good Japanese curry since Orange County (haven't seen it offered in AZ either but maybe I didn't look hard enough). I'd love to try their other curries. Boyfriend got the tonkatsu curry and I got the tantanmen. Both had great flavors in the broth, although a bit too salty for my liking and I felt that was compensating for the broth's richness. Service: 5/5 Great recommendations from the staff; the chicken karaage is a local add-on! which I thought was a nice touch (Not on the menu of other stores in the chain). Everything came out really fresh and hot too. We did go towards the later afternoon on a weekday so can't speak to busier times. My husband and I are so happy that we found this place. We recently moved and decided to try our luck here. SO DELICIOUS. New favorite ramen place for sure. The waiter was really nice and helpful, the place is super cool too. Will definitely be coming back soon! 100% recommend!! read more

The ramen itself was flavorful and good. For the price point, I'd say the portion size was small. I would have preferred my chicken not be chopped up in the broth but it still tasted good. The servers and staff were friendly and attentive but the wait for food was long on a Friday at lunch time even tho the restaurant wasn't full. The space itself and location were both nice. read more

Felt like trying something new. I'd only been to a Ramen restaurant once when I was in LA. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! I ordered the chicken katsu and I didn't expect it to have breaded chicken so tasty. Still kinda felt crispy despite being in the bowl. That was a great start because I don't normally eat chicken tenders but I would order them just for that. Then, you get that delicious broth and it keeps delivering with the perfect texture egg noodles. This dish is a winner staff was super cool and friendly. Decided to give Ja Ramen a try since it's close by. Tried the Pork Katsu Ramen & the Miso Ramen and can say both were very delicious. The portions are definitely filling and the broth is flavorful. They also have other drink options such as Calpicos, bubble teas, etc. The waiter was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance is really nice and something different than what is around the area. Definitely gave me Japan vibes would definitely recommend if you're in the area and don't want to drive out far for some ramen! read more

I was excited to see this place open in the neighborhood! This was my second time ever having ramen and it was so good! I also tried the shrimp tempura , delicious! Definitely worth a try! The staff was friendly and helpful in making a choice. My only complaint was that it was a little hot in the venue. Not sure if their AC was out or what because I believe I saw swamp coolers. read more

We came during a super busy time on Sunday. They quickly seated us on bar seating. Food was incredible and service was really great. They ran a little long on delivering us our food, but were on top of things and apologetic as we waited. Made up with dumplings for our group which was a very nice treat and attention to detail. I stopped in here in search of a sushi roll for my son LOL. They didn't have any but I still wanted to try something since I dropped in. I tried the chicken karaage w/matcha salt and the espresso martini. The chicken karaage was hot, fresh, and SO GOOD. It was juicy and light. The spicy sauce that comes with it is amazing too! The serving size was decent so I had some left over to take home with me. I am going to preface this by saying I am not a huge espresso martini fan but my friend suggested I try one with tequila to see if I'd like them better. I found that the answer is no and that this is just not a drink I like LOL. I tried theirs specifically because it had tequila. Part of it was poured from some kind of premade mix and when it came out, the color was just kind of weird. I didn't not like it but that has nothing to do with the bartender and everything to do with my own preference. The bartender was nice and the other staff was too. The place is TINY inside so just be aware of that if you don't like being elbow to elbow with folks. I'd definitely come back and try other menu items, especially the ramen. I just didn't have a big enough appetite for it that day. read more

I wish I could've given this spot a better review because the ramen was actually pretty good. We got there and it's packed (totally fine didn't mind waiting) groups before us got buzzers we didn't and then 4 groups did walk ins and got sat before us I ended up having to wait in the building so she would stop forgetting about my group. Then I saw the "$1 extra toppings" on the menu I asked if that was $1 for all the veggies or if it's each veggie for $1 she said it covered everything. No it didn't I was charged $6 for each topping AND the amount I got was identical to everyone else at my table that didn't pay extra there was no extra I didn't even get a couple of them on the bowl (no mushrooms, seaweed, or fried onion) that I paid extra for. I wasn't given a receipt when I paid so I only saw this afterwards and was forced to pay for it. Was a terrible experience read more

The food was really good, I had the miso ramen and the flavor was exceptional. The shrimp tempura is also tasty, the shrimp was super clean as well. The service was good. The red bean dessert was also great. The ambiance is well it is clean and the music isn't too loud. read more
