The hot dogs themselves were large and flavorful, definitely restaurant quality. The star of the show though, was the special sauce. It was a really flavorful version of barbecue sauce that wasn't too strong, that seemed to enhance the flavor of the toppings as well as the hot dogs, even with really different toppings on multiple hot dogs. The french fries were also super delicious, with a light seasoning and exterior crunch that was just outstanding. The place was busy but service was still fast since the menu is very simple, with only two choices of hot dogs and sides. The restaurant itself was nothing fancy and had basic diner vibes. I've had JDawgs many times, especially during college because it's so close to campus. You walk in, smell the grill, and know exactly what you're getting. I always order the Polish Dawg ($5.75) and add a LOT of special sauce, onions, banana peppers, and sauerkraut. The bun is soft and the dog has that perfect snap. Their special sauce is the real MVP--sweet, tangy, and addictive. I'm usually pretty full after eating one Dawg. I haven't tried their fries and don't know how good they are. I would like to have a bottle of that stuff. They score their dawgs just like I do. What that does is open up the dawg a bit and when you grill it, the cut scores caramelize and brings out more flavor. The fries are excellent! After I finished my dawg, I went back in and ordered a Baby Polish Dawg. I'd love to make this my every other lunch place. Too bad I live out of state... 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. Its like a sweet bbq-ey sauce that pairs pretty well with the salty dawg. J.Dawgs also features an assortment of toppings you can put on your hotdog. They range from jalepenos and banana peppers, to onions and pickles. Of course the topping choice is entirely up to you and theres no shame in going with the classic ketchup, mustard, and relish. The signature sauce is worth a try though for the uniqueness alone. I also got seasoned fries with my meal and found that they were great alone or dipped in fry sauce. My son-in-law wanted a hotdog and the trailer didn't open till six and we were a little bit early. We got our food and we were walking away when somebody from J dogs accused us of stealing drinks from them l. When they weren't even open yet, The employees started speaking in Spanish which I understand and was very rude. I understood everything she said and it's ridiculous that we have to be treated like that. so I went and got my receipt l. where I purchased the drinks. I brought the receipt back to show them my proof that I purchased the drinks. The employee was a younger lady with glasses. Why should we be treated like that . What a rude belligerent person.
