Spacious, bright interior with an eclectic mix of paintings on the walls. But there's nothing eclectic about their service or food. It's just plain good. Begin with a congenial greeting from their wait staff who then swiftly bring your eye-opening coffee or tea. This is when the difficult choices arise...so many really tasty things from which to choose. You can have a traditional breakfast Up-town style or Down Home Country style. Heck, go for the - Health-Conscious style if you like. I've tried some of each and they all are first-rate, first-class, and "tasteeee". Eggs cooked to your liking, a host of meats from which to choose, pancakes or a waffle for the kids, and the grits....oh, my the grits...buttery, creamy & smooth. Punch 'em up with a little Cholula or black pepper, or plop a poached egg in the middle as a friend of mine did on a recent visit with me. I personally am a sucker for the "Just Bubba" ... Buttermilk biscuits smothered in savory sausage gravy and presented with a side of cheddar scrambled eggs plus a serving of those de-lish grits. (You can have lightly seasoned roasted potatoes if you prefer instead of the grits.) The omelettes are fluffy, moist and stuffed with ham or bacon or peppers or mushrooms or, or....well, you get the point - lots to pick and choose. There are so many good things on the menu you could end up drooling on the table as you try to decide. (So, maybe check it out online before you go...but don't drool on your keyboard.) Yummm yummmmmm. That's it y'all it's good. But not only is the food fantastic the service is wonderful. Fast. Friendly. We had such a lovely time as a family after church today that I'd recommend you going the next time you have a hankerin' for breakfast ....or brunch. I love the art on the walls and cafe feel. Haven't been here for breakfast in quite some time and things seem to have gone downhill. Our server was very nice and we were seated promptly. Ok so took the family here, and we were greeted once we walked in the door. I also noticed as we left at least three workers thanked us for coming. That was after they had our money. The food was terrific. They made sure we liked what we had. We had two servers a trainer and Abby. Abby was new and was wonderful she really did a good job. I also noticed the trainer did a great job, talking of Abby. He did not make it like she was probably going to make some errors he just explained that she was new. The manager came over at one point to see if we liked the pancakes I had gotten. They were wonderful. Overall this place is one of best dining experiences I have had. I'm a big breakfast person! So I was excited to try this out. J. Christopher's was pretty good! There's so much to look at the menu, and I had no idea what to choose. Atmosphere: it's a big place! It's a cafe vibe. Food: You can't really go wrong with breakfast food, I feel like you can mess too much up. What I got was simple so I have to go back to try lunch. I really like my blueberry pancake. I love buttermilk pancakes! My friend loved her chocolate pancake and the rest of her food. I feel like they had a big menu, and lots of options. Everything sounded great to me. It was good and simple. Pricing: I think the pricing was reasonable. For two people and what we got, it was a total of $25 with tax included. Tried for first time this weekend. Arrived around noon on Saturday and was told 15-20 minute wait. I counted 10 open tables and 4 people ahead of us. It quickly became clear that the place is poorly managed. Once sat we have 2 servers trying to help us which confirmed the lack of a good management process. Now to the positive - Our servers - both of them - were polite, friendly and provided great service. The food was served in a reason time and was tasty. My daughter had a waffle and wife and I both had the goat cheese and spinach omelette. It was tasty and portions were great. It's a nice place that reminds me of the small family run shops I have always loved to frequent. They need to figure out their front of house process to avoid unnecessary waits and confusion. Had to ask for utensils when waitress checked on us, over 5 minutes after we received our food. l grabbed utensils from another table so grandchildren could eat. Grandsons's food was cold, coffee pot brought to table was empty to start with. My food was good but it only was barely warm. The child's plate $7.99 with an adult full order...that's ok. However he wanted another pancake since the one he got was so small (and cold, butter would not melt)...he is 5 years old. I was charged $6.98 for that additional thin small pancake. The cost for a his was $15.00 plus tax. Even the manager thought that was high but said corporate raised prices and he did not offer any discount. It was also not listed on the menu. I've been here several times and food is consistently great and so is the service. We have been here on weekends and it gets busy and you may have to wait, but worth it. I was looking for a different breakfast and brunch place to eat because there are not too many new restaurants that just serve that! Well months ago I had went to a grand opening for J. Christopher's. So I thought I would drive over and see if they were still there. Not only are they still there, but it was packed to the ceiling in there! It was great to see so many people enjoying their food and company! I was seated immediately, and the server came right out and took my order. I watched everyone I could see in plain view without freaking them out, and there were no plates that left the table with food on them! I ordered the San Bernadino Omelette. It is Diced, grilled chicken breast, pico de gallo, and pepper jack cheese. I ordered a side of bacon as well. I also ordered a Dark roast coffee which had a bold flavor that was just the right touch! Ok... When the food came out I was amazed to see what else was on the plate. Doh! (I didn't read the "served with" statement at the top of the category). It's presentation was fancy with a sliced orange twisted over Breakfast Potatoes, and a few grapes. Also, an English Muffin was included! What a nice meal. The waiter brought over some Tabasco sauce and said that what I ordered is great with a hint of it. She was right on! It was just enough kick to put that dish on another level. There are very few Breakfast and Brunch places in this area, and with that said I give this restaurant 5 stars for their niche, speed, service, food, and the contemporary dining area with really cool artwork of stars on the walls. I finally was able to try J. Christopher's for the first time this morning. I've passed it so many times in Cool Springs, but I had never actually made it inside. Today was different. The menu was well designed... meaning an excellent assortment, and not too much to drive you crazy. Nothing worse than going to a place to try for the first time and you either feel like you can't find something good enough for the first time... or there's too much and you can't decide between several options. I had the Eggs Benedict with grits and also a side of biscuits and gravy. My friend, Mary, had a breakfast panini. I also noticed they had shrimp and grits on the menu. I'm looking forward to going back and trying it. Overall I think this place has a lot of potential. There seemed to be a lot of good things on the menu. However, there are a few things I should mention, just for the sake of being thorough: The hollandaise on my EB was a little too powerful. I think it may have been too much lemon juice/vinegar in it. This is picky, but there was a little too much paprika too. The biscuits and gravy was good, but the gravy was a little runny... not thickened like a true gravy should be. Mary's breakfast panini had pesto on it (an odd ingredient for it I thought). It tasted a little different than any other pesto I've had. The server, Joe was nice and attentive. Also, the manager came around twice to check on us and thank us for our business. That goes a long way in my book. I'll be back to try the shrimp and grits as soon as my schedule allows. Overpriced and terrible food. Coffee wasn't hot. Ordered eggs over medium. I had to cut them with a knife. No seasoning of any kind. Grits were running. Wife had a strawberry crepe. Normally crepes have fruit and some type of filling like cream cheese. This one had strawberries and crepe. That was it. Wife said it was like eating an egg with a strawberry. Yea doesn't look like much from the outside due to the big shades covering the windows.. use to love this place as my favorite breakfast place before the competition showed up like firstwatch and big bad breakfast and ruby sunshine cause the food use to speak for itself and service but ever since the old gm fernando Castro ran it to the ground not caring about food quality or good service making sure the customers left happy but the day I found out they had new staff and a better gm food quality is better the few staff that's their during the week more attemptive then the last staff.. well for sure be coming back more for brunch read more

I have driven past this place many times and decided to go in today. It was a great experience overall. The layout is amazing it feels very wide and open as opposed to other restaurants that are cramped and are loud. The service was great, and the server was friendly. She passed by regularly, asking to refill my water or if we need something else. The food was great and came out quickly! Which is very rare nowadays. Breakfast here was not good at all. The serviceman at the Volvo dealership recommended this place to us and dropped us off here. The potato's were cold and old. The manger came over to state he could not break our bill saw my food and did not say anything. Due to covid we paid and tipped 20 percent. The manger was starring the whole time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The service was prompt. I had the Traditional which is 2 eggs, 2 bacon, toast (or English muffin) and potatoes or grits (I substituted fruit for an extra charge). The food arrived quickly and was prepared as ordered. The meal was satisfying and I'm going away feeling refreshed and ready for the day. J. I love J. Christopher's. The food always arrives quickly and it's delicious. I got the chocolate chip banana pancakes--they are SO GOOD. My husband got the San Bernidino omelette and enjoyed it as well! The district manager, Kenny, is personable and friendly and provides great customer service. The general manager, Maria, saw me ask a waitress for something and had it over to my table in about 10 seconds. Our waiter today, Jacob, was awesome. Very accommodating and friendly. The service was great, and our food came out quickly and perfect. It was a bonus that they have coffee-mate flavored creamer on the tables! I normally pass on coffee when we are outside the house because so many places don't offer hazelnut creamer! At the end of our meal a man, who I'm assuming was a manager, (or maybe J. himself?!?) came up and asked how everything was. He informed us that it was our waitress's first day and wanted to get some feedback on how she did. She was awesome, and I wouldn't have known it was her first day if he didn't tell us. I have been a waitress for a majority of my adult life, so I always pick up on great service, and crappy service. This waitress was really friendly and confident. I even threw her a curve ball (without knowing it was her first day) by making a few changes to my order and I didn't notice her falter at all, and it all came out perfectly! Wow... the manager is an absolutely prick and based on several other reviews, it's clear I'm not the only one who thinks so. Got seated right away, ordered quickly and food came out. No problems so far, everyone was nice so far (including the manager when he sat us). French toast was ehhh, nothing special and the middle was mushy but it was fine. My daughter had crepes and she liked them. We both ordered potatoes and both of ours were super undercooked and had no flavor. Some pieces were almost raw. I had no intention of saying anything or complaining about it but the manager came over and saw our plates stacked with barely any potatoes eaten. He specifically asked what was wrong with the potatoes so I mentioned they were really undercooked. He asked me if he could cut into them and said it's not that he didn't believe me but he had to see for himself - so yeah that means you didn't believe me. He grabbed my fork and tried to cut into one. He couldn't cut into it, several attempts and it was clearly raw and he acknowledged it. So he took my bill and my plate and I assumed he was going to remove the potatoes from my bill before charging my card. Nope, he came back and THREW my receipt and card down on the table and yep, he charged me for the potatoes knowing himself they were raw. He didn't say a freaking word and walked away. My daughter and I were shocked at how he threw it down on the table as if we did something wrong. Several people in the restaurant were looking after hearing the plastic holder with the receipt in it hitting the table and watched the way he treated me. One lady had her mouth wide open in shock and watched him walk away like a child having a temper tantrum. If you are going to specifically ask a customer about uneaten food and confirm yourself it wasn't cooked properly you should have either offered to replace the food or taken it off the bill. An apology or even a complete lack of attitude would have been acceptable too. If you aren't willing to correct problems then don't freaking ask!! read more
