Honestly, so do I. She's funny, attentive, and somehow always a step ahead, but what keeps us coming back isn't the food--it's the way she makes people feel. Bless blondie's heart, he'd never been out to Leiper's Fork, so I was both parts excited for the scenic drive & hopeful that the Country Boy would provide a Yum factor. Spoiler alert! It did. In this area, I'm often trepidatious when it comes to popular restaurants. My fear is mainly that the establishment will be too charmed with itself, heavily curated, and more like a photo backdrop than a place to eat. Thankfully, my fears were unfounded when it came to the Country Boy. Between the two of us, we ordered the Country Boy Breakfast, The Hillsboro & a chocolate chip pancake (and coffees, of course). I felt like we could have fed the whole village of Leiper's Fork, but the guy across from me found the portions go be exactly mathematically accurate (he ate all of his and half of mine). The biscuits were soft, pillowy, perfection. I imagine the closest Italian equivalent would be someone's Nonna's centuries-old secret gnocchi recipe. We scarfed everything down while stealing glances at each other which wordlessly spoke, "Where are we? Is this where Waffle House got its inspiration? Saturday mornings are made for places like The Country Boy Restaurant. My family, our dog, and I stopped by for breakfast, and it couldn't have been a better experience. We grabbed a table outside, and the patio was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Leiper's Fork atmosphere. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and we never felt rushed. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was exactly what you hope for from a classic country breakfast--fresh, flavorful, generous portions, and cooked just right. You can tell they take pride in serving quality, homemade comfort food. One thing I really appreciated was how dog-friendly the outdoor seating was. It's always a bonus to find a place where you can enjoy a great meal without having to leave your pup behind. The Country Boy is a charming, no frills staple in Leiper's Fork. I had an egg white omlete with spinach. The portion was very healthy & itvwas tasty. My husband & I ordered 1 pancake to try. Leiper's Fork is a definitely once do so if you are in the area be sure to grab a bite at The County Boy. However, beware... they charge an 11% preservation tax on all bills. Parking: The parking can get a little crazy so be prepared! There are 2 parking spots that are right by the Country Boy entrance so if they are available I'd say grab them if you can. Otherwise, you may need to circle around or park a bit further away. Ambiance/Decor: The decor is very down home country, which I loved. It's cozy and welcoming with that authentic country vibe. We stopped by the Country Boy today and it is located in a really cute part of town surrounded by coffee shops, gift shops and the likes. It is street parking for the most part so come prepared for that. Our waitress, Sue, was SUCH a delight. Very personable and the service was very fast. I ordered the country fried steak, covered in gravy, with mashed potatoes and green beans and let me tell yall, that country fried steak was one of the best foods I've had in a long time. The potatoes were a little cold but they were still very good and most importantly, they were made of REAL potatoes, which I've learned isn't as common as one would think. The green beans also tasted delicious. My husband ordered a sausage and cheese omelette with toast and a side of grits. He was especially impressed with how delicious the sausage was inside the omelette and he LOVED the grits! Overall, this was a great experience and I think what especially made it great aside from the delicious food was Sues customer service. My husband is hard of hearing (he is a U.S. Marine who has been deployed numerous times and lost a good bit of hearing) and she said something that he didn't hear, and after mentioning he was hard of hearing, she didn't mind coming closer and stating it again, which we really appreciated because this is a common issue we experience and most times we just get met with a blank stare and then the waiters will just walk away. Invisible Older Folks... I'm at a loss for starting this review. My wife and I had looked forward to eating here since we had recently heard and seen encouraging reviews. (We've only visited once before many years ago.) This morning we were pleased to find a parking spot almost directly in front of the restaurant. And, that's where the good news ends. There was one customer seated at counter and three tables of couples in an otherwise empty restaurant at 9:15 on a Monday. We were greeted as soon as we entered and given our choice of table. (We chose one off to the side near the bathrooms, away from the front windows.) We sat down and our greeter returned to her station at the counter. Our visit literally ends at this point. We looked at the menus; discussed options between ourselves....and waited. And waited. And waited. NO one returned to our table although one employee passed by and smiled on his way to (?) downstairs. Another passed by on her way to the restrooms... looking at her phone. We saw one server clear a table nearby, but she did not look our way. We watched as another server speak to the folks next to us....but once again, she did not turn our way nor speak to us....as we looked on, tapping fingers (?). Finally a group of 6 young, lively (not rude) men came in and were seated adjacent to us and (immediately) were asked if they wanted water or coffee. I was about to ask the server if we could have water or something....but she scurried away before I could utter a sound. Stunned! We decided (now 15 minutes after we entered) to leave. As we departed, I turned to the 3 wait staff standing and chatting by the counter and said, "It might have been nice to be offered water or coffee when we came in."....(no response)....so I continued, "we will not be back." (NO response.) Courtesy? Respect? Customer Service? Not today. Not the way to start the day or to encourage favorable reviews. our sunday brunch tradition! we love going to country boy! staff is always friendly and making everyone feel welcome. the place gives you that classic diner feel and the staff works hard to keep it a clean and enjoyable atmosphere! there's something for everyone at country boy! we personally love getting their breakfast food. it's simple, easy and always cooked well! however, they are sometimes forgetful when asking for substitutions/ changes to menu items. for example, they were out of bacon the one day so my roommate asked for extra breakfast potatoes and she wasn't given the extra potatoes. we've had a few instances like that where food has been forgotten. no problem though! the staff is always on top of it and gets missing items out quickly! read more

Local diner with limited menu. Food was good, service was fast. Don't be concerned about any lines, as they move fast and tables are turned over quickly. My only real issue was the added Historical Preservation fee added to the check, when I was not aware of it. It was about $1.75. But I would've preferred it posted somewhere first, so I was prepared. Or if it was an option at the bottom of the check with a blank amount, I would've probably thrown in more, as it was my choice. I just don't like being hit with unexpected add on fee's. read more

My wife liked her bacon, though cold and the grits. Her biscuit and gravy was also cold and not very good. The food was served on paper plates and we used plastic utensils to eat with. Not ideal. I hate writing this as much as others are going to hate me for writing this. First - The friendly service is back. Everyone that works there is lovely, helpful, attentive, and friendly. The menu sounds good on paper. Lots of options. Now my review is going south. The food just isn't it. Maybe it's the paper plates (I know it's a bigger problem with the building but I still hate the paper plates and I don't know how this place can survive if this keeps up)... maybe not. The biscuits were too fluffy. The sausage gravy was bland. The grits felt like instant grits (don't kill me it's true). The pancake was excellent. There is also a cleanliness issue. Again don't kill me. There were flies and fruit flies all over and the bathrooms were horribly dirty. I always say you can tell if a kitchen is clean if the bathroom is clean.... And, well..... I really want The Country Boy to succeed and be great. I really miss the old days with the proper plates and clean bathrooms. No one wants to eat breakfast on paper plates. The Country Boy is very close to where we live. We used to go there once a week for years but had stopped when the ownership changed and the quality of the food and service declined. The new Ownership has done a great job bringing back the restaurant to its former glory. The County Boy is back to its good ole days! This use to be our favorite breakfast spot before BBB took over. I'm happy to say that after todays breakfast it's back at the top. I've had several friends mention country boy and decided to try it with my family. Truly the BEST breakfast and environment. You walk in and instantly feel welcomed and at ease. The restaurant is so cute and the food was delicious. Our waitress Sue is an absolute gem of a human. She was so attentive and kind, went out of her way to cut up fruit for my baby and toddlers to snack on until our food came and went out of her way to extend grace and kindness. Very disappointed in the customer service we received at country boy on Sunday, our first time out to leipers fork. We live locally but still new and exploring parts of Nashville. Our family was in town and we decided to start our day at country boy. The server that helped us, she has dark black hair, a nose Piercing, and was super tall. Unfortunately we did not get her name. She was rude. Not welcoming. No personality. We ordered fried pickles as the appetizer and the each ordered a plate of food and a drink. The fried pickles never came. My grandma let her know that when we were halfway done with our food, because she finally came to our table to ask if we needed anything else. When my grandma said we never got our fried pickles (she was very nice about it by the way) the waitress responded "oh well sorry the kitchen is backed up so idk) and walked away! We were like wow, what terrible customer service for such a popular place and definitely far from southern hospitality. What a way to make an impression.
