    Pork ribs, BBQ beans, cornbread
    Steve K.

We finally found a REALLY good BBQ place in the PNW. I was raised here, but lived in Florida for 9 years where I discovered the real deal. After moving back here it's been a struggle to find a restaurant that has everything I expect. This place has it. Pork ribs were juicy and flavorful. Pulled pork was perfectly smoked and tender. Coleslaw was fresh, creamy, and lightly sweetened. BBQ beans were delicious as well. And the Corn bread with cinnamon sugar butter? Just wow. The service was fantastic as well. Very helpful and friendly ladies running the place. We will be back for sure! Do yourself a favor and try some legit smoked BBQ. You can thank me later.

Absolute delicious barbecue! I always have enough to take home for lunch the next day. This is the pulled pork dinner.

Friendly, welcoming staff. I always have enough to take home for lunch the next day. Absolutely delicious , photo is the pulled pork dinner!

Ever since Famous Dave's BBQ closed, we've been in a pit, but J & L hit the spot. Our new favorite local BBQ.

    2 meat 2 sides

It just wasn't very good. We got the 2 meat 2 side combo with brisket, tri-tip, Mac n cheese and potato salad and almost everything was just bland. The brisket and the tri tip were extremely tender but lacked any sort of seasoning, thankful for the bbq sauce at the tables but come on. The Mac n cheese was creamy but lacked seasoning as well. The one thing we didn't have to fix with salt or bbq sauce was the potato salad. We also had really strange service from the cashier. She looked like she was maybe freshly 16. Didn't say a single word to us just stared at us waiting for our card. When we asked for a water, she just stood there staring at us and didn't say anything, it was actually a little creepy and odd. Overall, not a great experience. Cool looking place, some decent food but inconsistent and not bold enough for a bbq place

It was so good that Mac and cheese landed on my belly

I give it a four average here's why service 5 stars big portion for me for a fair price, the staff was super super super helpful with either the meal deals or pick what you want meal what I got I just want combo stuff and , they help your to take out trays and extra sauce Togo. Second. The place was clean with I think is hardwood floors but I do admit that the spicy sauce should be change to tangy sauce, but I drown my food in it anyway. I don't know the difference between Texas barbecue or Kansas City style , I just like it messy, my favorite is beef ribs but the pork ribs will do just fine. If you eat at this place and you lick your finger, you automatically have to give this place 4 stars. I got ribs and chicken with Mac and cheese and collard greens, hahah I needed a green veggie and since they didn't have any verde sauce , I have to kept it real. And second meal plate was brisket and beef with cowboy beans and corn bread, I have to admit I like my cornbread yellow just like my coffee without and whip cream and mocha chocolate and syrup not even sugar, black and hot. I really dig how some of the meat had char on it , if you don't know what char is then I guess you eat your barbecue with a knife and fork, well bless your heart as they say in the how. So in all I did like my fingers it was too much to eat for me and I forgot to get extra sauce for home

    The brisket is so good.

Love the brisket. We have brisket meal and a brisket sandwich dip. Auju is good. Not super salty like the one from a restaurant we had a day earlier. Side dishes we had were Collard green, bbq beans, potatoes salad are all great. Recommended

    Whole lotta yumminess!

The poor server was solo and slammed, but she did get some help partway through. They've got a good selection of beer on tap, but I thought the cocktails were overpriced--nothing really stood out. I'd rather spend $16 on a craft cocktail at Colby Club. The food wasn't great. We got the calamari and it was bad--cold and honestly just bland. We also ordered the beer-battered halibut. It was okay, but a bit overcooked, and it came with fries... maybe 25 total for a 3-piece fish plate. Our bill was around $65 for two beers (with the $2 off Thursday special), the calamari, and the 3-piece halibut. Just overpriced for what it was. The place itself is cute, and they had acoustic music going, which was nice. The staff was friendly and really hustling with how busy it was. Overall, though, I didn't feel like it was worth it and probably wouldn't go back. I wish we could do .5 stars. I struggled between 2 & 3. I ended with 3 for the venue, live music (she was really good) and the awesome staff.

When we went on a weekend, it was very quiet, too quiet, with moderate business and perhaps five tables occupied. This is our fourth West African restaurant in this area; all but one are a bit rough around the edges. The male server spoke only to my husband, despite me initiating the conversation and placing the order. Hello, the 21st century is calling! The food takes a while to be ready; they all do for some reason. This time we waited half an hour with a near empty restaurant. If you are hungry, order an appetizer. Generally speaking, the food is good, and the portions are generous. The Food: Dibi Afra or Grilled Lamb, $26.99 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Popular SeneGambian street food. Meat marinated in authentic heritage seasonings and char-grilled served with onions, spicy mustard, and salad. There is something comforting about a giant pile of chopped lamb, fantastically seasoned, served with onions and an excellent salad. I packed 2/3 of the lamb and onions to take home. Grilled Golden Pompano, $25.99 - 5 Stars Menu: Whole Golden Pompano either grilled or fried marinated with heritage seasonings The fish is perfectly grilled. The fried plantain, a pleasant surprise as it was not mentioned on the menu, was wonderfully fried. Both salads are superb too.
