Bar-B-Que Brisket Sandwich

Best BBQ sandwich in the world! I have been here many times and the quality and taste is always the same; delicious! I highly recommend!

Deli cut roast beef reheated in a microwave is what i equate their "brisket" to

Larry's Smokehouse is very misleading. Maybe there is a Larry (or there was at one point), but that is the only thing the within the name of the establishment that is correct. Walked in on a Monday afternoon and decided to lets try the smoke pork and the brisket. Got a 3/4# of each. Upon getting it home, I open the package and the pork looked decent, but lacked any color you would expect from a smoke. The brisket was resembled more of boiled roast beef slices that an college dorm cafeteria would serve. Either way, both meats lacked any sense of smoke flavor (and/or salt. At the very least, season the meat. Perhaps that is why they gave me enough BBQ sauce to drown the meat. Would I eat it again? Probably not. There is an Albertson next door and I am sure their deli has some sort of bbq in the hot case.

Sadly, another no for a BBQ joint. This place seems to engender controversy in its Yelp reviews. Some love it. Some hate it. And it seems to be largely customer service related. More on that in a minute. Larry's Smokehouse has been around awhile and has moved several times. Larry sold the business to his daughter and son-in-law and isn't involved anymore. The good? The meat (well, the brisket I tried) isn't dry at least. Some complain about the fat. That indicates a lack of much exposure to good BBQ brisket in Texas. Brisket SHOULD BE A BIT FATTY. At least Larry's got that right. And the BBQ sauce is tasty. Mac and cheese is tasty, if rather pedestrian. The beans were good. But where's the smoke? Because my brisket was like roast beef and had zero smoke flavor. And it was served drenched in BBQ sauce. Tasted okay and wasn't dry, but it wasn't BBQ. It was roast beef. The cornbread was okay, but had the texture of cornbread that's been frozen and thawed to be served. And it was very dense, but not in a good way. Just nothing to write home about. They bottle and sell that BBQ sauce, and now I wish I had looked at a jar to see what the ingredients were because... They also make and sell (and are very proud) of their smoked salmon. It's "wild Atlantic salmon from Canada." What? Umm. Okay. We live in the Pacific Northwest, with some of the world's finest wild Pacific salmon readily available. I am not going to support Atlantic salmon in WA State. So, I have no idea if this smoked salmon is any good or not. Oh, and the smoke? EVERYTHING here that is smoked is smoked with Alder wood. Wait, to be clear, it's from alder wood PELLETS. Not even whole wood. Okay, that explains the lack of smoke flavor in the brisket. Alder is great for fish. Not so much for other meats, and that shows here. And pellets are an attempt to sterilize what is the messy and exacting art of traditional wood fired BBQ. They are the lazy man's attempt at BBQ, and they fail in all but the most skilled hands. I have yet to find a BBQ restaurant that uses pellets and does a fantastic job. I have eaten with a few home chefs who manage to pull it off, but it usually requires almost as much effort in the process as just using real wood. Customer service was coldly efficient and dull, but it seemed there was a certain something brewing right below the surface the entire time I was there. It felt like the owners were tired and just going through the motions. So, I could see what some describe as horrific customer service experiences (especially with catering) happening. After dining it and experiencing the atmosphere and the food, I wouldn't want to have them cater anything. This place is a big no from me.

Beef Brisket Dinner

Worst barbecue I've ever had. The brisket was not freshly hand carved. As another reviewer mentioned, the meat looked like boiled roast beef, not smoked brisket. The brisket was thin deli style slices slathered in a barbecue sauce instead of the sauce being on the side. The meat wasn't tender and didn't measure up to the standard for brisket to slowly separate as you gently pull on one end of the slice with no resistance. I ate one bite and tossed it. The potato salad is good but that's it. The man at the counter was very rude when I inquired about the salmon used for the smoked salmon saying "you wouldn't know the difference between species." He doesn't know me. The salmon is being smoked wrong if you can't tell a chinook from a sockeye from a coho. All you're tasting is smoke then. Why would you use Atlantic salmon when you're in the Pacific Northwest? I regret buying food after this exchange. This was my first time and will be my last time at your establishment.

Heard of this place by a couple of my friends when they were in Bothell but now they moved over to Snohomish which doesn't bother me because how close I am to it! Right now they are only doing take out but there are a couple of picnic tables outside that you can sit down and enjoy the delicious bbq! I was so surprise on how affordable the food here was! Everything was a fair price and you get a lot for how much you pay! I decided to try their smoked brisket sandwich(half) and their poor boy sandwich(half) and with each half sandwich you order, you also get a small side of either potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans or mac & cheese! It might be a hard choice but their potato salad was delicious! Lastly, you get a small bag of chips too! With both of the sandwich I ordered, it was only $16 after tax and tip! So you would only pay 6 if you get half a sandwich. You can't beat that at all! And trust me you will be satisfied and filled. I defiantly will be coming back to try their other meat choice that they have! Also if you like smoked salmon, they do sell small pieces that you can buy to take home too! So make sure to come and try Larry's Smokehouse and support their small business!

Terrible food and service. The meat is dry and doesn't even appear smoked. An unpleasant experience all around.

My go-to for flavorful smoked meats in Snohomish. Love the brisket by the pound, and the smoked salmon is delicious.

The manager was very nice and super helpful and what could have been a big problem on a very busy evening turned into a few minutes of waiting outside on a sunny day. The food was good (WOW - especially the Parmesan Artichoke dip. I expected it to be the usual, creamy dip you get everywhere but this had a hit of garlic that made it SPECTACULAR.) But the BEST part of the evening was our server, Brenton. He was funny, kind, very good at his job, checked in with us at exactly the right times and just generally made the evening a great one. Am rating 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1) They have no gluten free options. Not a GF bun, bread., pasta nor pizza dough. I understand not having many, but to have no GF choices is just not great these days. My husband with celiac disease had very few options. 2) Need more and reservable outside seating. Especially on the beautiful days (like this one was) - having to sit inside was a big bummer. They had more tables outdoors but we were told those were waiting areas and that we couldn't eat there. Anyway - a good spot and an even better one if they made just a couple changes.

As a vegetarian, my protein option was pesto tofu, while the other options were salmon and tuna. They had all the usual greens and vegetables, and everything was served cold. There were a few in house dressings along with some store bought ones. I tried the balsamic vinaigrette and a honey ginger dressing. It was good, but I think it could be better. My husband ordered the pesto tofu sandwich with Moroccan soup, and that was the highlight. The sandwich was delicious, and his only regret was not getting the full size. The soup was also really flavorful. The place itself feels cozy. The food came out quickly, and we finished everything in no time. Parking is street parking, which might be tricky, especially on weekends. Overall, a good experience. I would definitely come back to try more sandwiches or burgers, but I would probably skip the salad bar next time.

What we got: Alaskan cod 4.5/5 Nicely fried and the fish good as is without any sauce. Halibut 5/5 This was our favorite out of the two; realy nicely fried and the fish is just so flaky and taste great as is. Onion ring 5/5 My wife love onion rings and she said this was the best so far; it was perfect amount of batter and nicely fried as well. Both fish were great; the fries......its alright. Let me tell you about Lew's BBQ. Or as my husband and I now call it BBQ from the Loo. And before…read moreyou ask yes. It earned that name. Every single letter of it. This place had every opportunity to be the holy grail of down-home BBQ. The kind of spot you drag yourself to when you're too lazy to fire up your own grill but still want to feel like a person with standards. Instead it delivered something far more memorable: profound disappointment wrapped in a paper napkin. The potential was there. The execution? Somewhere between 'bless their heart' and 'what in the actual hell.' We drove from Sultan for this. SULTAN. On a Wednesday. Like optimistic idiots with functioning taste buds and unreasonable hope. We walked in at 3pm to a dining room so empty it felt like a crime scene missing the chalk outline. Not 'peaceful Wednesday afternoon' empty. Not 'hidden gem that hasn't been discovered yet' empty. More like 'did someone die here' empty. The kind of empty that should've been a sign. It was a sign. We ignored it. Now. The meat. OH. THE MEAT. Buried under sauce and not in a 'this is so fire we had to' way. More of a 'if we cover it completely maybe God won't see what we did' situation. Spoiler: God saw. WE saw. The meat was dry lifeless and deeply confused about what year it was. That BBQ had the energy of someone who already put their coat on to leave the party an hour ago but somehow ended up on your plate anyway. The whole meal arrived in to-go containers with plastic forks. Plastic. Forks. The kind that bend before the meat does. I mentioned I'd take leftovers to go. I did not mean 'serve my entire dine-in experience like a sad airport meal.' Nothing says 'welcome to our restaurant' like eating off disposable everything while sitting in an actual building with actual chairs. Now here's where it gets spiritual. A mystery cup of mac and cheese appeared at our table. Uninvited. Unannounced. Like an uninvited relative at Thanksgiving. We thought how sweet! A little gesture! A sample! The universe providing! Narrator: The universe was charging $3.95. That mac and cheese which based on its journey to our table had clearly seen some things. Wasn't terrible but wasn't exceptional. Showed up on the bill. For four bites of mediocre mac that nobody ordered. A complimentary charge. And THEN like the plot needed one more twist when you go to pay on the counter there's a handwritten sign informing you of a $2 per plate/platter upcharge for 'product costs.' No prices on the menu. None. This isn't a scavenger hunt Lew. We're not on a BBQ treasure map. We're hungry people who would like to know what things cost before we eat them. The bill: $95. NINETY. FIVE. DOLLARS. For reheated meat, collard greens and a mac and cheese I did not order but apparently spiritually owed. I still tipped $10. Not out of satisfaction. Out of the deep social paralysis that will haunt me until I die. Look I want Black-owned soul food spots to WIN. Full stop. I am ROOTING for you Lew. But you cannot hide dry confused reheated meat under enough sauce to drown a brisket charge $95 for the experience. You cannot. BBQ from the Loo. I drove from Sultan for this. I will not be back. But I WILL be telling everybody.

On our way out we stopped to grab a plate to eat once we got home. We got the rib, links and…read morebrisket with side of greens and Mac. The greens were fire!! We enjoyed our feast!
