Single rib, brisket plate and slider. Sides of cowboy caviar, baked beans and mac n cheese
Kristie P.

We were really excited to find a good BBQ place while we were in town. We have a popular joint where we live but don't go often because the prices are steep and portions are small. We ordered single meat plate with sides and slider with side and single rib. Brisket was our meat of choice and was so good. Our sides are one size and very generous. We chose Mac n cheese (ok) baked beans () and cowboy caviar (um, yummm) The lady working at the counter was so friendly.

This is an outstanding barbecue restaurant. I ordered the two meat and two side meal, with ribs, brisket, mac & cheese, and collard greens. Every portion of the meal was outstanding. The meat was fall off the bone and the sides had a lot of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Pork ribs, BBQ beans, cornbread

We finally found a REALLY good BBQ place in the PNW. I was raised here, but lived in Florida for 9 years where I discovered the real deal. After moving back here it's been a struggle to find a restaurant that has everything I expect. This place has it. Pork ribs were juicy and flavorful. Pulled pork was perfectly smoked and tender. Coleslaw was fresh, creamy, and lightly sweetened. BBQ beans were delicious as well. And the Corn bread with cinnamon sugar butter? Just wow. The service was fantastic as well. Very helpful and friendly ladies running the place. We will be back for sure! Do yourself a favor and try some legit smoked BBQ. You can thank me later.

Absolute delicious barbecue! I always have enough to take home for lunch the next day. This is the pulled pork dinner.

Friendly, welcoming staff. I always have enough to take home for lunch the next day. Absolutely delicious , photo is the pulled pork dinner!

Ever since Famous Dave's BBQ closed, we've been in a pit, but J & L hit the spot. Our new favorite local BBQ.

2 meat 2 sides

It just wasn't very good. We got the 2 meat 2 side combo with brisket, tri-tip, Mac n cheese and potato salad and almost everything was just bland. The brisket and the tri tip were extremely tender but lacked any sort of seasoning, thankful for the bbq sauce at the tables but come on. The Mac n cheese was creamy but lacked seasoning as well. The one thing we didn't have to fix with salt or bbq sauce was the potato salad. We also had really strange service from the cashier. She looked like she was maybe freshly 16. Didn't say a single word to us just stared at us waiting for our card. When we asked for a water, she just stood there staring at us and didn't say anything, it was actually a little creepy and odd. Overall, not a great experience. Cool looking place, some decent food but inconsistent and not bold enough for a bbq place

It was so good that Mac and cheese landed on my belly

I give it a four average here's why service 5 stars big portion for me for a fair price, the staff was super super super helpful with either the meal deals or pick what you want meal what I got I just want combo stuff and , they help your to take out trays and extra sauce Togo. Second. The place was clean with I think is hardwood floors but I do admit that the spicy sauce should be change to tangy sauce, but I drown my food in it anyway. I don't know the difference between Texas barbecue or Kansas City style , I just like it messy, my favorite is beef ribs but the pork ribs will do just fine. If you eat at this place and you lick your finger, you automatically have to give this place 4 stars. I got ribs and chicken with Mac and cheese and collard greens, hahah I needed a green veggie and since they didn't have any verde sauce , I have to kept it real. And second meal plate was brisket and beef with cowboy beans and corn bread, I have to admit I like my cornbread yellow just like my coffee without and whip cream and mocha chocolate and syrup not even sugar, black and hot. I really dig how some of the meat had char on it , if you don't know what char is then I guess you eat your barbecue with a knife and fork, well bless your heart as they say in the how. So in all I did like my fingers it was too much to eat for me and I forgot to get extra sauce for home

The brisket is so good.

Sides were really good (beans and the potato salad) but the pork was really dry. I will give it another chance.

Let me tell you about Lew's BBQ. Or as my husband and I now call it BBQ from the Loo. And before…read moreyou ask yes. It earned that name. Every single letter of it. This place had every opportunity to be the holy grail of down-home BBQ. The kind of spot you drag yourself to when you're too lazy to fire up your own grill but still want to feel like a person with standards. Instead it delivered something far more memorable: profound disappointment wrapped in a paper napkin. The potential was there. The execution? Somewhere between 'bless their heart' and 'what in the actual hell.' We drove from Sultan for this. SULTAN. On a Wednesday. Like optimistic idiots with functioning taste buds and unreasonable hope. We walked in at 3pm to a dining room so empty it felt like a crime scene missing the chalk outline. Not 'peaceful Wednesday afternoon' empty. Not 'hidden gem that hasn't been discovered yet' empty. More like 'did someone die here' empty. The kind of empty that should've been a sign. It was a sign. We ignored it. Now. The meat. OH. THE MEAT. Buried under sauce and not in a 'this is so fire we had to' way. More of a 'if we cover it completely maybe God won't see what we did' situation. Spoiler: God saw. WE saw. The meat was dry lifeless and deeply confused about what year it was. That BBQ had the energy of someone who already put their coat on to leave the party an hour ago but somehow ended up on your plate anyway. The whole meal arrived in to-go containers with plastic forks. Plastic. Forks. The kind that bend before the meat does. I mentioned I'd take leftovers to go. I did not mean 'serve my entire dine-in experience like a sad airport meal.' Nothing says 'welcome to our restaurant' like eating off disposable everything while sitting in an actual building with actual chairs. Now here's where it gets spiritual. A mystery cup of mac and cheese appeared at our table. Uninvited. Unannounced. Like an uninvited relative at Thanksgiving. We thought how sweet! A little gesture! A sample! The universe providing! Narrator: The universe was charging $3.95. That mac and cheese which based on its journey to our table had clearly seen some things. Wasn't terrible but wasn't exceptional. Showed up on the bill. For four bites of mediocre mac that nobody ordered. A complimentary charge. And THEN like the plot needed one more twist when you go to pay on the counter there's a handwritten sign informing you of a $2 per plate/platter upcharge for 'product costs.' No prices on the menu. None. This isn't a scavenger hunt Lew. We're not on a BBQ treasure map. We're hungry people who would like to know what things cost before we eat them. The bill: $95. NINETY. FIVE. DOLLARS. For reheated meat, collard greens and a mac and cheese I did not order but apparently spiritually owed. I still tipped $10. Not out of satisfaction. Out of the deep social paralysis that will haunt me until I die. Look I want Black-owned soul food spots to WIN. Full stop. I am ROOTING for you Lew. But you cannot hide dry confused reheated meat under enough sauce to drown a brisket charge $95 for the experience. You cannot. BBQ from the Loo. I drove from Sultan for this. I will not be back. But I WILL be telling everybody.

On our way out we stopped to grab a plate to eat once we got home. We got the rib, links and…read morebrisket with side of greens and Mac. The greens were fire!! We enjoyed our feast! I can say we were all pretty disappointed in this place. The staff was the only positive that we took away from this experience. Both servers that we encountered were both kind and attentive. The drinks and food however totally missed the marks. We all started off with drinks 2 margaritas, a gin gimlet and a beer between the four of us. The margaritas were terrible, like I am not sure how they put them as a feature drink. They had zero jalapeños and also offered no spicy margarita whatsoever. My wife's gin gimlet tasted like straight up lime juice. All were complete misses. Next we moved on to the food where each couple ordered a dozen wings. The X's and O's( fries and onion rings) and we also ordered a wedge salad. The wedge salad came out and idk how it was marketed as wedge when it was a bowl of salad completely engulfed in dressing(closer to soup than salad). Next the fries and onion rings came out and I'm not usually a stickler for what things cost, but $17 for like 6 onion rings and a very sad plate of fries. We expected a bit more for what we ordered for the table. Lastly the wings. While the flavoring of the wings were good, they came out not too warm to the touch and biting into them they were cold on the inside. Concerned that we may get sick from uncooked meat they assured us that they were precooked and just dropped into the fryer to finish them off. To me it is concerning that though they were precooked and still missed on hearing them all way, you may need to have a chat with your kitchen. Both of the servers were on top of it and ran both dozens back to have our order recooked. Second time around they were hot and crispy with good flavor(although the garlic boom boom wings were missing one of the sauces the second time around). It didn't matter, we ate them and paid. Not sure we will put this on our revisit list. Maybe the burgers or flatbread were the way to go, but out of 3 menu items and even the drinks.... There needs to be much more effort to everything here...

They charge an extra $2.50 just for dipping sauce, which feels excessive. Even water isn't complimentary--you have to buy a bottled water for $3.50. On top of that, the restaurant itself is small with limited, uncomfortable seating. There's also no wait staff, so if you need anything, you have to get up and take care of it yourself. If you're heading there before an Everett Silvertips game with friends, you'll be lucky to find seating--it only has about 25 seats total. Overall, decent food, but between the high prices, limited space, and lack of basic service, it didn't feel like a great value.

The burger was decently. It wasn't anything I'd go out of my way for but it was solid choice. It was crispy and seasoned pretty well. The tater tots were exceptionally tasty. Fried to perfection without being greasy. And the seasoning was chef kiss. My chicken wings were slathered in garlic Parmesan sauce. And that sauce was actually tasty. But my wings were so rubbery and it lacking any crispy texture. It was like they were boiled, flash fried for color and then bathed in the sauce to finish cooking. I just wish the chicken was cooked better. It would have been a much better experience. The pretzel and cheese is a big no. Nothing tasty about the pretzel bites as at all and the cheese sauce was not great either. Service was great. They were really friendly.

They have done well to accommodate larger parties, ours in the past and those of people we saw this time while in the establishment. I wouldn't call the service overly friendly or enthusiastic, and the one time we tried to get our server's attention as he walked by, he looked in the other direction. Our needs were all met though and we didn't wait too long for food or drinks. We weren't asked about dessert or if we wanted anything else and felt a little dismissed at the end of the meal. When it comes to food, I appreciate the menu having clearly marked gluten free items. The server did also know about sauces and other items that weren't marked (like bbq sauce on a sandwich). There is a gluten free bun too, but it's the kind that gets crumbly and falls apart halfway through the sandwich. We were told that fresh-cut fries don't have gluten in them, but there is cross contamination and a shared fryer. Whenever I order here, I can't help but wonder if would have enjoyed another menu item more. I got the bbq pulled pork sandwich on a gluten-free bun. The coleslaw and pork hard good flavor, but the bun couldn't hold it. The fresh cut fries WERE bad. They were floppy and soaked with grease. The regular fries are beer battered and looked crispy and delicious. I couldn't eat mine. I would get a salad or more coleslaw next time. My husband got a hot honey chicken sandwich. He said the chicken was cooked well but the sandwich was dry. The kids enjoyed the kids menu. And the root beer float is made with root beer that they brew at the place. I had a tasty watermelon margarita drink and my husband had a beer. The portions are sizeable, there are a lot of options for diverse tastes. There is outdoor seating if you want to wait for it. This place has a lot of good things going for it. The servers and staff don't seem to be having a good time (busy, lots to do, tough job...I get it), and the food is just ok.

Parking is quite challenging. I entered the restaurant and was confused because there's a big sign outside that says "fisherman jacks" but it bridges two building and there's like an odd walkway and the only real entrance was this Chinese restaurant with Chinese characters on the door. You walk in and nothing says fisherman jacks. The signs, the menus, the host area. Anyways it is the place. The resultant is really nice looking and it's right on the water and it was like a nice hot day with baby blue sky and the restaurant fully opens up so we're indoor but it's kinda like outdoor patio seating. So I was really impressed at how nice this restaurant was. I used the bathroom and it was kinda sub par with only 2 stalls and 1 sink but whatever it worked. I ordered an espresso martini and a water since I had arrived last and wasn't sure who's water was who's. They never brought me a water. The martini was really good. We order family style and my uncle orders us a feast with like 6 appetizers and like 10 entrees. But the food was totally lack luster. It was at the bare minimum level of acceptable. Every item was like this. I was totally shocked. I couldn't help but be totally disappointed and I was trying to remind myself to be grateful because I'm at a family event and it's a beautiful day and I have a meal that is being provided for me and I made the best of it. But seriously I cannot stress this enough; The flavor was slightly worse and more dull than Panda Express and the quality of the food was on par with Panda Express. I know my uncle paid an insane price for this dinner and I appreciate it and had fun but I can't quite shake the feeling that this place charges top tier pricing for Panda Express level of food. I don't recommend it and I won't be coming back.
