In short Perrinville has really solid bbq! It's not the hugest place, which means fewer smokers. That means a briefer menu. But the food is good, people are super nice, and prices are great. In long I had some time to kill in the area, and saw the rates for this place being nice and high. You walk past a smoker and a bunch of propane tanks to get to the door. Much as I'd prefer to see stacks of firewood outside a BBQ spot instead of propane, it's all good. Inside, there are a few tables over there, and an order window over here, with a pop cooler next to the window. Checkered tablecloths, some hats for sale, a couple Seahawks signs, casual and laid-back. They mostly focus on ribs, pulled pork, and chicken. You won't find 10-15 different proteins here, like a bigger place farther from town might have. They do have all the usual sides, though. On the table you get rolls of paper towels, a squeeze bottle of dark sauce, and a little pail full of forks. They bring you your food after 10 minutes or so. I checked out the Small Chicken Meal--a thigh, slaw, beans, and a store-bought roll. The sides here are decent, though maybe not special. That's to be expected at almost every BBQ spot in my experience. That thigh was perfect, though--tender, still very moist, really nice sweeter flavor from the sauce. The sauce on the table is a little ketchupy for me but it hits the spot. All this and a pop was barely $20, which is a nice way to price a plate of q. So many places get crazy expensive. That's expected anymore, but finding good q at a good value really is nice. It was empty when I showed up at 4:00, but there was a constant stream of people wandering in after I sat down. I got the small ribs meal, which came w 3ribs and 2 sides (which is set as baked beans and coleslaw but you can swap out for others) for ~$14 Honestly, finding a place that is this cheap is amazing! I did not get it but there's a pulled pork sandwich for ~$6. For the price alone it is worth trying. The meat is good but nothing outstanding. The sides were not that great though. You honestly can't beat the price! Not only for BBQ is it cheap, but in general this is cheap food. And tasty! Customer service is also great! read more

I'm conflicted. Do people read my reviews? Does anyone care? If I rate this place the way I really feel will it be taken over by ignorant foodies? Or do I just forego a review hoping that the place forever stays low-key and they never lose their vibe or change their recipes. Bah. Times are hard and I want places like this to thrive. Today is my birthday and I wanted barbecue. We had planned on another local establishment that I had tried before but they ran out of ribs before 5pm. So I did a random search for "barbecue near me" and Fat Pig came up. So glad it did. Their location is not fancy. It is as it should be. As we were pulling in my partner said "This looks like your kind of place." I agreed in stunned silence. Yes it is. Yes it is. We got a rack of ribs, corn, cole slaw, beans and a pulled pork sandwich to go. I wasn't paying (birthday and all) so I don't know how much we paid, but I do know that it was significantly less than the other place that had been sold out. It was, for sure, affordable considering how much food we got. My partner had the pulled pork sandwich, which was less than $7 and said it was 'outstanding.' I asked for samples of their sauces so I got to try the spicy and the regular...both incredibly good. The rack of ribs was cut up- and was...plentiful. So much food. Beans were not your typical pork-n-beans, all over sweetened...they had ground beef in them, as well as pork and were more of a texas style chili bean flavor...not candy sweet. The coleslaw, likewise, was delicious, and not sweeetened, which I've grown tired of. I have found a new *local* barbecue joint- and this has me excited. Came here with my buddy seeking, well some BBQ. He found out about it as it's near where he lives. Not having BBQ in some time, I was ready. We strolled in on a Saturday afternoon. I got the full rack of ribs, and he got the Pulled pork BBQ meal which comes with coleslaw, roll and baked beans. It was about a 20-minute wait so which it was being made we went to pick up some pints to enjoy along with the food. We got takeout to take back to his spot. The ribs were solid. Had extra sauce at my request. Tender and meaty but lacked a bit on the smoky smell and flavor. Good overall. The Pulled pork meal was tender and sauced nicely as well. I'd say it's a decent price at $27 for the rack and $15 for his meal. I'd return here for sure as solid BBQ places aren't in abundance that I've seen so far, so thumbs up on this one. read more

A friend recommended Fat Pig. I had never heard of it. Im glad i went. They have the best ribs, beans and cornbread! Everything had incredible flavor. The ribs were seasoned and smoked perfectly. I think they out sweet corn in the huge piece of cornbread which is a really nice touch. The baked beans and bacon had really good seasoning too. I was really blown away by it all. went in on a rainy day for some comfort food! we got a meal with ribs and chicken thigh, it came with beans, bread, corn, and slaw. also got a double meat pulled pork sandwich. all of the meat was so tender and juicy! i'm not a huge fan of beans normally but these were so good!!! the guy who helped us was very sweet and made our food quickly. i'm still dreaming about the ribs and chicken. can't wait to come back for more soon! read more

The ribs are great and flavorful. The pulled pork is good but needs that extra bbq sauce to fully have the flavor and without the bread so it's not soggy by the time we got home. We traveled 45 min to try this place and it did not disappoint! The food was very good. We all had the large rib plate, ribs fell off the bone, the bbq sauce tasted homemade, coleslaw was perfect flavor and not drenched in watery mayo, beans and corn all delicious. What made it extra good though was the service! Very nice man behind the counter who I think was the owner. We were celebrating Veterans Day with our son who served and we mentioned that and the owner was so nice he offered him a free drink! Super recommended! Things that this restaurant does well: the ribs, specifically the char on the ribs. I think they excel in chicken/ribs as they are strongest menu items. Portion wise, they are good, and the flavor was well executed. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely meets your barbecue craving. This restaurant can work on a more friendly and clean bathroom, more availability of sauces to share in between tables, and a bit more attention to Customer Service. I drove out of my way to get barbecue I was craving it. I read good reviews so went. Got rack of ribs abd a chicken $40 but the chicken was red inside odd taste and ribs were tough and not best flavor. I was disappointed went inside told the guy at the counter he said can't help you. Wow I'm shocked we thew it in the trash and just disappointed we spent the time and money abd they didn't care! Fat Pig has pretty good BBQ pork ribs for the PNW. I visited after a long day with no lunch so I was just shy of hangry, and - spoiler - I cleaned my plate. I had the large rib platter, 4 ribs with a 1/2 ear corn, coleslaw, beans and a roll. The side are pre-set for the meals, no choice. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone soft, 10/10 for tenderness, but not a lot of flavor. All the flavor comes from the BBQ sauce, which had a "standard food service" bottled quality. No personality. And no other sauce choices that I noticed. The beans and coleslaw were decent (I finished them) but not craveable. The corn was delicious. I didn't taste the roll (I'm gluten free) but it looked like a store bought package roll. No unsweetened ice tea available, which almost had me walking out. I've never eaten BBQ without iced tea. Didn't expect that. They do have bottled sweet tea (Arizona) but that's not my jam. The place is small but cute, in a neighborhood strip mall about 10 minutes from downtown Edmonds. I was the only dine-in on a weeknight, all the other traffic was pickups. And there's no shelter from the cold when the door opens and closes - I'd suggest screening off the dining section for comfort in winter if you want dine-in guests. I drove out of my way based on other reviews when I found myself in Edmonds at mealtime. I feel like when this place opened they may have made everything from scratch. But we tried them for the first time today, and I can tell you I'm sure most of the items are from Costco. I don't even know if the meat was done in-house or purchased pre-cooked and warmed up. I know for a fact the beans and the potato salad are from Costco, as we watched them empty their car while leaving with our food. They had huge cans of baked beans, and the tubs of potato salad. The rolls were definitely from Costco. The food was just "warm". I was watching as the young lady was "cooking" our food. She pulled chicken out of a tray, and then I heard a microwave startup. Then she pulled ribs out of a tray and flipped them back and forth on a grill for a couple minutes while smothering them with bottled BBQ sauce. I get if you make the food earlier in the day and have to reheat it, but it wasn't really reheated. The corn on the cob was mushy and cold. The roll was mushy. I assume the coleslaw was also from Costco. No seasoning at all on anything, especially the ribs and chicken. Smothering it in BBQ sauce is NOT seasoning. All in all very disappointing. Waste of money. Not what I expected from a "home town" bbq establishment. I could have picked up all that myself from Costco for much cheaper. read more

Checked out Fat Pig BBQ for the family. First the good, Service was friendly, accurate, and quick. It's generally take out (not a lot of seating) so the ambiance is limited but appropriate for a BBQ joint. We ordered a full rack of ribs, pulled pork sandwich, cornbread, and a few other things. The pulled pork sandwich was decent. I'd skip the cornbread (it was a bit dry). The ribs were a big disappointment unfortunately - not a lot of flavor and a bit chewy. Best Ribs in Seattle. I've been to a lot of other BBQ places in Seattle that described their ribs as "fall off the bone tender" and this is the first place that delivered on tender ribs. That along with balanced smoke made these the Ribs I will rave about. if you need a comparison to a region of BBQ I think they're closest to a Kansas City style of BBQ. We were looking for a place to get some BBQ while we were in town and settled on Fat Pig BBQ. It's located next door to a convenient store, Star Mini Mart & Deli. We dropped in on a Thursday (around 6:15pm) for an early dinner. You order and pay first at the counter. Nice touch that they offer to bring your order out to your vehicle if you get takeout. The owner was friendly and came over to chat with us when there was a break in customers. The menu is small with 20 items (meals and sides). Meat options consist of ribs, chicken and pulled pork. The ribs seem to be the most popular. There's two bottles of sauce (spicy and mild) by the utensils. Spicy one was solid. - Cornbread ($3.50 US) - this was a massive portion of cornbread with a slab of butter dolloped on top. Really liked how there was bits of corn mixed in, which added a pleasant texture. - Ribs & chicken combo ($13.25 US large) - two ribs, one thigh, roll, coleslaw, baked beans and half a corn on the cob. The ribs were tender and flavourful; my favourite out of everything we tried. The chicken thigh won't blow you away but it was good enough. The coleslaw was standard but the baked beans were done well and the corn was fresh. Would have liked a full corn but c'est la vie. - Pulled pork sandwich ($6.75 US) - went with the double meat option as it's only $1.50 USD extra. The pulled pork was decent but a touch on the dry side. They also really slather on the sauce; a little too much in my opinion. However, the bun was nicely grilled. Fat Pig BBQ was a nice find. Actually, 3.5 stars. This is a tiny hole-in-the-wall BBQ place, obviously struggling to get by. The owner / cook was friendly and my pulled pork sandwich was ready in 3 or 4 minutes, and delivered to my car out front. The slaw was fine, the pulled pork and sauce was fine but nothing special (there was less meat in the sandwich than I would have expected). The bun was toasted on the grill and fairly good. It was a good value. I hate to see this kind of mom & pop business struggling, so they are worthy of support and patronage. The sandwich was inexpensive ($5.25) but the fees (for a bag, for city tax, for credit card) were a bit annoying. It was a messy sandwich, as you might expect -- getting a napkin or two would also have been a good thing. So, I feel for them as a small business, but I was also a bit underwhelmed. I'd probably give them more business just to support such a small business, but not because the BBQ was wonderful. read more

I love this place for a quick bbq pick up! The owner is super nice and friendly. The half rack of ribs are perfectly tender with just the right amount of sauce and flavor. This place is a small mom and pop restaurant but don't be fooled.. this spot is delicious from the bbq sauce to the "fall off the bone" pork ribs. The service was so good, the owner even Introduced himself to my wife and I and asked us if he could get us anything else. He was a very polite and humble business owner who cares a lot about his customers experience. The beans were delicious as well, they had a chili like flavor. I love BBQ! I found this shop from a friend who knows the owners very well. We went for dinner and found the service to be quick, efficient and excellent. We ordered the rib meal which came with beans, cole slaw and a roll. The ribs were excellent! This place uses a better quality of meat, which makes the ribs very tender, juicy. Best of all, the meat is not over smoked. A lot of BBQ places tend to over smoke their meat not allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the meat. The beans were very good and was made with meat rather than just beans and sauce. The cole slaw was fresh, crunchy and had the right amount of vinegar. Why only 4 stars? No brisket. All BBQ shops need to have brisket round out the menu. Overall a great BBQ place and I highly recommend it! read more
