Great little neighborhood pub. Wanted to watch Mariners game and they have a lot of TVs. The bartender was very friendly and graciously turned one of the TVs to the game. My friend and I split the beet salad and the pretzel with beer cheese. The bartender also gave us a selection of mustard too. The beet salad was good but the beets were a little hard. I liked the roasted cashews but overall it was an average salad. The pretzel was delicious and warm and fluffy. So good with beer cheese and the different mustard. I only wish it was a little bigger. Drinks were average nothing special but I also didn't order a special cocktail. I would go back to watch sports and for that pretzel. read more

ChurchKey is confusing. Reviews here say it's an Irish pub; their description on Google Maps says it's an English pub; I got precious little of either. Yes there was an Irish something hanging on the wall, and the menu had shepherds pie and bangers & mash (although with brats instead of bangers), BUT not a single English bitter or a Guinness or anything from a cask to be found. The tap list is primarily NW craft, and that's great (+1 star). The place was crowded and service was good (+1 star). The food was not good - the chicken pot pie tasted off (as another reviewer called out). Wife's bangers and mash were also off - potatoes & gravy was reportedly "plasticky" tasting and the brats were a little undercooked (-2 stars). The most recent review of this place I could find on Yelp was 3 months old. I find that hard to believe, so maybe Churchkey went through some kind of facelift? I might return for a beer and to watch a game, but another meal is unlikely. read more

This place has a charming Irish pub vibe. It's quaint and small, with great food and service. I came in hungry and left full. We started with the artichoke dip. It was a little different than your average artichoke dish. I couldn't pinpoint what was so different maybe the onions but still a good start of the meal. A couple of us ordered the bangers and mash, while my friend got the Smoked Bratwurst Flatbread. The flatbread was a decent size, and I even had leftovers from the bangers and mash because you get two sausages--plenty of food for one. I was delighted! Service was awesome, atmosphere was incredible. The bar was packed but that made for a very friendly, cozy spot to watch the game. Cannot recommend the corned beef sliders enough - truly one of the best I've ever had (I'm a slider connoisseur so this is high praise ) We also tried the shepherds pie and chicken pot pie. Shepherds pie was fantastic! My only complaint is that our pot pie tasted a little off, heavily salted so we couldn't finish it. I may have had a bad batch as it is normally highly recommended. Oh my gosh. On the special menu right now, the Bahn Mi Tacos - with pork belly, are off the hook. I can't recall a better dish in a long time. Description from menu: "A pub twist on a Vietnamese favorite that will have you hooked. Three soft corn/wheat tortillas filled with beer braised pork belly. Topped with pickled carrots, daikon, fresh cucumber, and jalapeno. Finally, we drizzle them with our house-made zesty bahn mi sauce." The tortillas seemed light and like a slightly fried pastry - held up and help everything in place as you ate. Everything else in the middle was amazing with the pork belly cooked to perfection. We also had the dates (served hot) as an appetizer and they were terrific. But specifically go for the Bahn Mi Tacos. You won't be sorry. read more

One thing I really miss about England are the good old English pubs, with dark exteriors, dark wooden everything, cask ales, and good old English pub food. One of my favorite hidden gems in Edmonds. Just off the main path, it has incredible food and service. Their sandwiches are the best in Edmonds (bring back the Cuban!), the Rachel is incredible. Went to Churchkey Pub for the first time tonight. It's a cozy pub on 4th St.in Edmonds, just down from Rick Steves. Reminded us of the pubs in Ireland and England. The seating is limited and it was obvious that the happy hour was a popular time to be there as the place was full at 5:45. We ordered the chicken pot pie...flavorful with lots of roasted chicken. My only comment was to bake it a tad longer as the underside of the puffed pastry crust was a little gluey. Maybe a regular pastry crust would be better? The corned beef sliders looked good and that would be our choice next time. We'll be back! read more

Got in just as soon as they opened so we had out pick of a table. They moved things since I was last here. It more open now and I'm sure they can fit more people in. Husband had been drinking wine earlier so I got a lemon drop. It was delicious! Not too strong - as I like it. We ordered a couple appetizers; Bavarian pretzel with Beecher cheese sauce. We also got the artichoke cheese dip, and because I was hungry, I got a bowl of gumbo. First of all, the pretzel was nice and soft. Perfect for dipping in the cheese! The artichoke dip was also nice. You could actually taste the artichokes! It's actually served with toasted bread. The gumbo was really tasty. However I'm not much of a meat eater and I felt there was too much chicken and too much sausage. I would have preferred more soup. So this is actually perfect fir meat eaters! I felt like i was in a little pub in England or something. I've never been to England but I liked the bar and would describe the decor as "classic soccer pub". Scarves hanging above the bar, plenty of TV's, and although the place isn't big they do have a good amount of tables with views of a TV from wherever you sit. On a Thursday night google indicated that it was less busy than usual so we came on in. I'd say it was at least 50% full the whole time I was there, it's a popular little spot! We came in late at night when I saw a photo of what looked like an Irish coffee. I've never had one but around Fall I seem to like Porters, stouts, coffee like drinks and a warm alcoholic drink sounded great. I ordered something similar to that but had my husband order a pumpkin beer just in case I didn't like it. Unfortunately I dont think warm alcoholic drinks are for me but the pumpkin one sure was! We ordered a pretzel with dip too and it was so good! Crunchy, buttery outside, with a soft inside that pulled apart perfectly. It's so good and definitely a must try item. read more

First time at ChurchKey pub and it is adorable. It's very small, but it seemed like people rotated in and out pretty regularly. As a dark beer drinker, I was excited to see 3 different dark beer options (2 stouts and a porter) and they had a large selection of other beers. The pretzel and cheese was a surprise hit and was so, so good we ordered a 2nd! Both entrees were between 3.5-4 stars out of five. They were good, but with a few enhancements could be great. My partner and I decided to come here to grab some drinks because I was wanting a hot toddy. When we were there, the service was terrible and it felt like we were completely forgotten about. I ordered the chili & salad, the chili came out luke warm and the salad was soaked in dressing. My partner ordered the Rachel but was served a Ruben instead (it still showed up as Rachel on our receipt). The Ruben was the best part about the whole experience despite it being the wrong order. They asked me three times what my drink order was which also delayed us getting our drinks, we never got refills on our water and they hardly checked in on us. We probably won't be coming back again even though the food and drinks were decent. The service alone made us not want to return. read more

Edmonds has many great eating and drinking options, this one is a just a little off the main path, just follow the beautiful murals just off one of the main streets of downtown and you'll find the red door to the Churchkey pub, a perfect place to enjoy some comfort food and a drink.. or two on a cloudy cool afternoon. Very much the feel of a English pub, from the red door, the decor on the wooden walls and quaint bar area, to the dart board in the back. Quick and friendly service and seating, Addison and staff were quick with food and drink suggestions, starting off with the pastry stout 'Dark Persuasions' , a malty stout with a coconut chocolate mouthful, tasting like German chocolate cake, very flavorful! The Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo sounded tasty on a cool afternoon and Addison agreed, food came out quickly, a delicious gumbo chocked full of Andouille sausage and shredded chicken and vegetables ( only disappointment was no okra) so tasty and flavorful it was easy to overlook, just the comfort food ticket on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Following the yummy stout, which went well with the gumbo, being in a pub, I had to try the Copperline Red Ale ( love those reds) and this one was very good, malty with a good amber color and taste, great to finish off the gumbo with. The bowl of gumbo was a meal by itself, but definitely looking to try some of the other delicious looking items on the menu, which definitely has a English pub list and much more. The Reuben and shepherds pie also like yummy. Along with a full bar, the brews are on a rotating tap, so you can find many different types of beers and ciders for any palate. Classic local English pub. Small, cozy, inviting, and local. Nothing cheesy or out of place. Felt like I had walked into a locals pub in the UK. The staff was very outgoing and cheerful. A couple of TVs above the bar for those wanting to watch a game but not glaring in your face. A couple of dart boards in the back. There was classic rock/country music in the background but not loud or distracting. They have a sizable rotating tap list and some tasty looking cocktails. The menu is not overwhelming and everything sounded good. Tried the corn beef sliders and cup of gumbo. Gumbo was great but I was not impressed with the sliders. This is definitely one of the kind pub I did like to go back again for round 2,3,4. Visited here with a buddy of mine after a long hard at work, We decided to come here after taking a look on Yelp. We sat at the bar when we got there, because the table were all full. It was a busy to be during the night. It was my first time visiting Churchkey Pub. The vibe just kicks in. Loud and great people who works there. They have so many awesome cocktails on their menu. I don't even know what to get. So we decided to try couple of them. Overall, their drink is strong and tasty. Not to mention that the corn beef sliders we ordered as well. They tasted amazing. Next time, when I stop by. I will for sure have some of their entree as well. read more

Nothing makes me happier than finding a hole-in-the-wall place that serves great food and cheap drinks with great service. I don't come to Edmonds much (or at all really) but I was able to try this place as this was one of the few places open late on a Monday night. I ordered the Mac and Cheese ($10) which includes Beecher's cheese and bacon bits. The pasta was a perfect al dente and the surface had a slight crunch which added a nice texture. I also had some of the Reuben was which delicious! There was a larger layer of corned beef and the thousand island dressing was slightly sweet and added a very nice flavor. I really appreciated the thin layer of bread so it didn't overpower the taste of everything else. Some notes: They have happy hour every day from 4pm-6pm. I'm not sure what is on there but I think the drinks are already pretty cheap compared to other places I've been to. -They have a bar area and TVs for sports games. -They have trivia on Mondays. -Free darts! It'll be a little far from me but I'll find a reason to make the trip up to Edmonds and ChurchKey again! read more

This Pub is small a long counter as you enter and a side open area with a wooden table. The walls are filled with interesting news over the years especially with a German edge. The lighting was good and the staff were welcoming. We already saw the menu at home and spent little time finalizing what we wanted. I got a great tasting pot pie and they got a flat.bread to share. The buttered rum hot drink was fantastic and I had 2. She never had buttered rum drink, tasted mine and ordered one too. The creamy heart dip with a lot of toasted rounds was great. I've been to many of the "pubs" north of Seattle. Most feel like glorified sports bars or casual restaurants serving meat pies and whatnot. You know what I mean. The sort of place you'd expect to go on your 21st birthday to get wasted on Blue Moon while eating hot wings and remembering how much you suck at billiards. Either that or it's like an Olive Garden that serves 3 craft beers and sheperd's pie, and they hang a picture of a London Cab on the wall next to a Seahawks jersey that was signed by some player who retired 20 years ago, and that makes it a pub. I've never been to England, but I like to think Churckey is the closest you can get to the spirit of an English pub. It feels like a place you can relax with friends and chat for hours over simple hearty food and local brews. I've sat at just about every table here. I've never been hurried by the staff, even with my eyes glued to the TV through an entire sporting event. Every dish I've ordered has been excellent. The baked mashed potatoes are highly underrated. Pretzels are a must-order every time. The mac n cheese will smack you over the head with stanky Beecher's flavor. They always have a great rotation of local beers and ciders, along with some highly-rated brews from across the country. The decor is really cozy. I have no idea where they got all this vintage stuff, but it's like jumping in a DeLorean and going back to the 40s without the risk of time paradoxes or botulism.
