It was a choice between this and a couple of chain restaurants for us, and my son picked Mr. T's Moonshine BBQ. We were there a bit later, just before 8 p.m. on a Monday, and easily got a table right away. I didn't want too much food - at my age I've learned my eyes and stomach are rarely on the same page - but I definitely wanted some brisket...as an amateur smoker I appreciate how much work goes into beef brisket so always try it when I see it on a menu. So I went with the Happy Hour Caesar Salad & Brisket. For $8.50 it was a great value. The fat of the brisket was rendered PERFECTLY. My wife wanted the baked potato but allegedly someone came earlier and bought TWELVE and cleaned them out. Disappointing! But the two street tacos she got off the Happy Hour menu were tasty. My teenager decided to lean in and get the brisket entree. Fries and Mac & cheese as the sides with cornbread. He added some of his brisket to the Mac & cheese and loved it. Fries were crispy (double fried? Or battered?) but didn't get finished - too much food! I had a couple of beers that were good. The tap listing was available on a screen. Service was well-above average. Very friendly. I can imagine this place getting busy during peak hours but it's small enough that they likely can keep up. I doubt we'll be back. We are from out of town and while we come to the Seattle area often I like to try new places whenever possible. But we were very happy with how tonight went. 4.5/5.0 but it won't let me do a halfstar. Give it a try. This isn't a chain restaurant! We were happy to support this one. read more

I'm a little surprised at the 3.5 stars rating. It's at least a 4... Good food, decent beverage selection. We went on a Thursday night. Parking lot was packed- but there was one high-top table when we walked in. We grabbed it. Loud bar/pub atmosphere- I'm sure sporting events are fun here. Big bar on one side and 'family' seating on the other with warnings for the under 21's to not cross the border. I got the half rack of ribs and my partner got the pulled chicken sandwich. Also beers. The food arrived fast: nice thing about bbq is that it has to be already prepared so they just have to plate it. The half rack was huge. 6 big ribs, Cesar salad and fries were my sides. So much food. Glad I got the salad. I didn't try the pulled chicken but she got the Mac and cheese as a side and that was really good. Haven't had decent restaurant Mac and cheese in a while. I'd like to know what they make in-house here. The fries felt bought-in...the salad was...good but...uniform? Like maybe out of a bag? I'm prepared to be wrong about that. The barbecue was good. The ' spicy' sauce was sweet and not vey spicy and the 'sweet' sauce was kind of boring: bbq sauces need work. Add a mustard based sauce? Ordered the Bleu Brisket burger but subbed the burger for the black bean vegan patty which was delicious. That burger with the Mac & Cheese side it was a match made in heaven! The blue cheese aioli was so incredibly indulgent, creamy, and one of the best I've had. It was the perfect compliment to the spicy burger. I loved the crisp of the onions on top and the pub bun was so pillowy and held up shockingly well to the mountain of toppings annd burger inside. Report from my first visit: the sweet potato waffle fries are so good I'm actually mad about it. I don't even like sweet potato fries most of the time, but the crisp on these was perfect. If you served them with some whipped butter and maple syrup they'd be a breakfast dish. They were seriously incredible. I had the Master Potato, which was a temporary special, and it was indeed masterfully done. Every part of it was perfectly cooked, the chicken fit in really well, no complaints. My companion says the brisket is basically perfect. Service and ambiance are both fine; nothing to write home about. A few colleagues and I came by on a Wednesday night to find that we made it to their closing happy hour window. We ordered nachos and poutine from the happy hour menu (smaller portions) and then a couple meat combos to share between us all. My end of the table shared a 3-meat combo with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork for our meat choices, and then coleslaw and baked beans as our side, and the meal came with a slice of cornbread and some whipped butter. The happy hour items were pretty great and enough for six people to share despite the smaller portions than their regular menu. The meat was also very tender on the combo platter and I enjoyed having sauces available at the table because I am a sauce girl - the ribs were my favorite as they were fall-off-the-bone tender. The only things I didn't love were the coleslaw and baked beans - there was not really any flavor in either, just some tossed cabbage and wet beans. The cornbread was also plain and dry (the butter helped), so I'd say don't get your hopes up for any sides and just focus on the meats if you get a meat combo. This was my first time here so I can't gauge whether this was a normal crowd to staff member ratio but we didn't see our server more than the times it took for her to bring our food and have us pay, so we got pretty thirsty by the end of our meal having asked for water refills and never getting any. Overall I'd give 4 stars for the food but 3 for service. There was also a man dressed as a pirate who stood in the parking lot and silently watched us walk to our cars, which was.. uncomfortable. read more

And one of the person in the party made a joke that "someone need a drink" and then they just laughed at us. Located off 196th St SW. Visited a couple times in April '23 with a large party of adults and hockey playing teenagers. It turned out we picked the right place to eat and have a few drinks since the walls are loaded with tons of hockey pictures and memorabilia !! During both visits the staff was super friendly and more than willing to accommodate the group. The food's amazing, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to snap up a pic because I was ready to dig in! PLEASE NOTE IF THERE WAS A NEGATIVE 5 Star this would be more appropriate. This is the fourth time I have been to this restaurant. It was recommended by one of my hockey mates and my first experience was after a stick and puck in the afternoon ...Fantastic service and awesome Chili! I have been there with my team mates now 3 more times in the evening and tonight warranted this recommendation that NO ONE EVER tries this place in the evening. Specifically, we have had the same waiter named Ari for all three times. The first was just 6 of us after a game and after 20 minutes of waiting he took our orders. Then I tried to get his attention for more service as he was totally ignoring our table. Noteworthy, was there were only three party's outside in addition to our 6. I used a very endearing military term to get his attention of "hey Wildman" and he immediately asked "what did I call him?" I said that I called you Wildman, and he said I thought you called me brown man... Well, I then informed him that made no sense since I am darker than him. The second time Ari said we could not sit outside with 10 (team and family members) as there was nothing that could handle the seating. Turns out there were at least two ares that could have worked but we took the hightop long table and added two chairs to equal 10. Ari then went on to tell us he could not split checks on parties larger than 10 ...NOTE WE HAD TEN. And he did not split our checks. Everyone noted his poor service and his never returning when we needed more food or drinks. Then tonight was strike three for Mr. Ari! As we arrived after a game we had 4 but thought maybe 6 and his first response was, well if it is greater than 4, we will have a problem. This did not make sense as there were several tables available and he could have joined any that were available. Once we figured that it would only be 4 of us, he sat us and provided menus. We ordered our drinks and food once he returned, all seemed well. Then when we were to order more drinks he said, "No, not now." Please note also he had many opportunities to come back for our order...He was not busy by no means. Then another of our party asked him when he passed by could he order another drink (without even looking at our table) and his reply was, "in a little bit." I then went up to the bar and said Sir, why are you not taking our order? His reply was "I have the right, I smelled something". I said excuse me, what did you smell? He told me he would serve us in 20 minutes and again it was his right as a server. I asked what did he think he smelled? He said it smells like alcohol and that we had obviously been drinking before we arrived. I told him, well that is not possible we just came from our hockey game. Truth be told as a "Beer Hockey League" we always have a beer in the locker room after a game. Also ironic is we had just said after the game we should have a shot ...BUT THAT DID NOT HAPPEN TONIGHT! We got our check and were just totally dissatisfied... So customer service in the PM is the worst experienced in the Seattle area. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE FOR EVENING DINING, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE SHIT! read more
