Our server Tyler was excellent! Even though he appeared to be handling the entire front of the restaurant on his own, he was incredibly attentive, friendly, and fast. Our drinks stayed full, and our food came out perfectly without any long waits. It takes serious skill and dedication to manage a whole floor like that while still making every guest feel taken care of. Management is lucky to have him! I will definitely be back.

I was craving BBQ, and this spot did not disappoint. The prices are fair, the service is quick and friendly, and the ambiance is just right. I'd definitely come back next time I'm craving BBQ.

We've passed this place many times while driving on 196th. Finally decided to stop in and glad we did. We had the prime rib sandwich and the Boz which were both fully stacked and delicious! Meats were smoked perfectly. Many choices of sides too. Prices were reasonable for what you get. We enjoyed it and will come again. Service: Great! Fast and friendly even though the place was pretty busy. (Not sure what the motivated the earlier review but note we're non white as well as many other customers. We felt welcome and cared for) Ambience: went for lunch. Dive bar feel but still clean and orderly. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Justice you're a great employee. They're lucky to have you. I hope many to come. See you soon.

First time here and will definitely not be the last, food was delicious! Everything was moist and tender, our server was really sweet and nice and took good care of us. Place was very cozy and country style. Highly recommended! Don't come here if you are a Vegetarian lol

3 meat combo with brisket, pulled chicken and one each of their sausage links, Mac and cheese/potato salad and warm cornbread.

Great food, great service, excellent happy hour. I like the full bottles of spicy and sweet bbq sauce, always going heavy on the spicy, it's got a perfect kick.

Wings, ribs and sides. Corn bread and greens are yummy.

Love this place! It's a great atmosphere if you like a dive bar feel. The service is good, sides are excellent and the bbq is pretty good. Nice selection of beer and spirits.

    Nachos (happy hour portion)

A few colleagues and I came by on a Wednesday night to find that we made it to their closing happy hour window. We ordered nachos and poutine from the happy hour menu (smaller portions) and then a couple meat combos to share between us all. My end of the table shared a 3-meat combo with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork for our meat choices, and then coleslaw and baked beans as our side, and the meal came with a slice of cornbread and some whipped butter. The happy hour items were pretty great and enough for six people to share despite the smaller portions than their regular menu. The meat was also very tender on the combo platter and I enjoyed having sauces available at the table because I am a sauce girl - the ribs were my favorite as they were fall-off-the-bone tender. The only things I didn't love were the coleslaw and baked beans - there was not really any flavor in either, just some tossed cabbage and wet beans. The cornbread was also plain and dry (the butter helped), so I'd say don't get your hopes up for any sides and just focus on the meats if you get a meat combo. This was my first time here so I can't gauge whether this was a normal crowd to staff member ratio but we didn't see our server more than the times it took for her to bring our food and have us pay, so we got pretty thirsty by the end of our meal having asked for water refills and never getting any. Overall I'd give 4 stars for the food but 3 for service. There was also a man dressed as a pirate who stood in the parking lot and silently watched us walk to our cars, which was.. uncomfortable.

Ask the Community - Moonshine BBQ

Is there cinnamon in the BBQ sauce? (I know this is uncommon, but after finding one bottle with it, an allergic friend understandably needs to ask every-time)

There is no cinnamon in the bbq sauce.

    Which menu items are gluten-free?

Brisket, chicken, and pork are gluten free. BBQ sauces are gluten free, also there is gluten free bread for sandwiches and burgers.

If I want more cornbread, can I sub one of my sides for extra? Like if I want sweet potato fries and want extra cornbread? Or can I buy more cornbread?

    Yes and yes!

Do they have a kids menu?

    Yes

    Do they take American Express?

    Yes, they do!

We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

Here's what we ordered: Honey Miso Tofu Burger -- As non‑meat eaters, we were thrilled to see a crispy tofu option, and it absolutely delivered The tofu patty was perfectly crisp, and the miso honey mustard added the right balance of sweet and savory. With coleslaw, pickles, red onion, tomatoes, and a soft bun, every bite was a total delight 12 Spice Fries -- Their house-made 12‑spice seasoning is incredible! These fries are dangerously good; I don't think I ever want another kind of fry again Japanese Mayo -- Our dip of choice for both the burger and fries. We love Japanese mayo, and theirs hit the spot Croquette -- A deep-fried potato and vegetable croquette. This was the only item we didn't care for -- a bit bland and forgettable, so we'll skip it next time. In long This place has great word of mouth and I'm glad I finally got to check it out. I tried 2 things, and, so far, the menu seems to be executed very well. The whole menu looks crazy promising, so this is an excellent sign. I came in for a late lunch on a summer Friday during World Cup. A few folks were watching the game--there were a handful of gasps for great shots and saves. But most of the scattered crowd was there for a leisurely lunch (or beer). They have a solid tap lineup with lots of dependable local favorites, and the tender knew quite a few people by name *and* by beer preference as soon as they sat down. Said she had been there over 5 years. Great vibe, lots of happy customers. It probably gets kinda loud in here when it's packed--you can tell from the photos that everything is concrete and wood and whatnot. No acoustic baffling that I could see. Easy to clean, though, and it was definitely just pleasant and sociable the whole time I was there. I got the Blue Burger with a cup of clam chowder. You can tell the soup is scratch, nice little dicing on the potatoes and veg, decent amount of clams. Comes with the oyster crackers that some of us have loved for decades. The burger is hearty--thick patty, thick stack of veg, squishy thickish bun. Easy enough to eat but without a doubt it's the opposite of a smashburger. I know, I know. This is a seafood joint. You can tell from the fake seagulls right by the front door. But it's been ages since I had a burger, and at least I tried the chowder. Everything was easily good enough to come back and see how the water side of the menu is. I was in and out for a fair price, and never doubted that everything would be very good. And that's exactly how it turned out. I'll happily be back.
