I thought I'd finally found my salon, but unfortunately I won't be going back. The first few times I had my nails done by Muugi, and they were amazing. A little pricey, but they always turned out perfect and provided a nice experience. That has changed though. In the last few months she has brought new nail techs in and they are all old, elderly women who do not know how to do nails. I had two different elderly women do my nails in less than a month because they keep popping off. First, I was coming in for gel nails and they started upselling me to get gelx and raved about how good quality they are.. they fell off in 10 days. Then I went for a full set and didn't realize they don't do full sets like other salons. They use gelx press on nails where the whole nail is already shaped. So it already starts off with the nails not perfectly fitting your finger because everyone is different how do you expect a pack of 10 nail sizes to fit everyone? I could see the nails weren't fitting perfectly and they would still move forward. I didn't think to ask how much they were going to be and they ended up being 150$ before tip. The nails were beautiful so I was happy to pay but again they didn't last. The last two times I decided I'm going back to what I know, dip nails. The first set, I called to make an appointment. They turned out alright, but I had to go get them touched up a week and a half later. Last week was the final straw. I called to make an appointment again. I show up and it's another old lady, doesn't know English, and she is the only person there. She did an awful job on my nails. Was not paying attention to detail, was not ensuring the corners on my nails were actually getting dipped, and they weren't. She was also very messy and wasting products, at one point she knocked the whole dip powder container over. She left one of my hands in the warmer for the nail removal for wayyyy too long without checking on it and my hand was burning. The corners of my nails were lifting and I could see air bubbles literally minutes from walking out of the salon. When it was time for me to pay, Muugi showed up. She asked who did my nails last time because they shouldn't have needed to be redone so soon. The lady didn't give me a name of course so I said I don't know. Muugi then said that her and *pointed to another women* are the only two people who know how to do dip nails. Guess what, neither of them where the women who did my nails. So, even when you call to schedule an appointment for something specific, and they knew they couldn't do it, they still said yes and tried to do it. Here's the kicker. Then she asked me "did you get them done here last time" I said yes. She said "okay so then we won't charge you for the removal" and then proceeded to charge me MORE than they charged me the week before. I don't know if the First Lady who charged me just didn't know what she was doing and undercharged me, or if muugie overcharged me. Either way, the nails were awful, the prices weren't consistent, and this nail set has now fallen off, a week later. I'm done spending an arm and a leg at this salon when there is only one person who works here that knows what they're doing, which is the owner, and she upsells you everytime. I'm at a loss, there are no good salons here anymore, everytime I go these days I am disappointed read more
