I love this place so much! This was my first time getting fake nails (I got gel x) and they looked so cool! I brought in a pretty detail heavy designed and it looked better than I thought they would and lasted pretty long. I would say to definitely get an appointment because they are busy but efficient. The prices too are on the higher side but I think it's pretty reasonable. The vibes were calming and everyone was super nice. I really want to support this small family owned business, but the husband and wife Nancy and Lee, that own the business are often unfriendly, and borderline rude to customers ! The salon itself is very nice and clean, very well taken care of. Much nicer and cleaner than most nail salons to be honest. Pricing is not posted but I've seen that in a few other nail salons. Their name happens to be a common name so this is the salon on Smokey hill and Chambers in Aurora just to confirm I'm reviewing the right Salon. My last mani pedi was so uncomfortable! This was my 3rd visit. The greeting was non existent, the water for the pedi was very cool, when I mentioned the water was cold I got a stern look. The pedicure was very rough! I've had lots and of pedis and this one was the worst ever. Several times I jerked away and said ouch you are to rough. If you look at my toes, he completely butchered the nail and the cuticle bed. The manicure was just ok, rough but tolerable. I have natural nails and he took the sanding block that you use for acrylic nails and started to sand the flat of my nails, I had to stop him. It left pretty deep grooves in my nails which will take a long time to heal. Both the toes and the nails were cut and filed crooked. 4 weeks later and the toenail bed is still not recovered. The owners are the most rude entitled people you'll ever meet they act as if they own the whole property and will always park in the spot closest to the store and will write notes on people's car calling them names and threatening to tow their vehicles because it's "their spot" when it's not even marked when that spot would be best to be used by elderly customers and pregnant customers giving them easier access to the shops around them, they will watch out the door and wait for the car in their spot to move and go steal it the moment I went to my car to run to get water because I am pregnant they were already running to their car to take my spot when they could have easily stayed where they were I don't understand why they need to be that close for any reason especially when they are rude to everyone else who parks there before them! read more

So this place is under very new management, like within the past 2 months, so it's safe to ignore the older, negative reviews! I followed Nancy over from another spa and absolutely love what she and the other managers have done with this place. From what I've seen everyone takes their time and does a really good job. Brandon the receptionist/manager has great people skills, so this salon has a much friendlier vibe than others. When they first opened they only had a few nail techs so wait times might have been longer, but they have solved that problem. This is a place I'd recommend having an appointment or at least calling before coming in. read more

Their pedicures are extremely over-priced. I purchased the deluxe lavender one for $50 and left with calluses still present and very little attention to my cuticles. This salon completely dropped the ball and Ruined not only my Mother's Day but also ruined any chance of me ever going to this salon again or recommending it to anyone. They are over booking so much they can't fit everyone in for what they want done but continuing to schedule people they know they can't actually get in. My appointment was at 4:15, I was running 3-5 minutes late so I called to make sure they could still do either the manicure Or the pedicure and the girl on the phone said NO I'd have to totally reschedule because they had other appointments at 4:30! Came in today to get my nails done before a special occasion. I had an appointment at 3:15. Came in and waited an hour! The lady finally started an hour later and was so rude to me. She started doing my nails and she was leaving part of my nail unpainted. I told her nicely if she could paint the part that she didn't pain and she gave me attitude & was rude she said ugh you couldn't have told me earlier and rolled her eyes at me. Then she painted very sloppy and was painting my skin with shellac! Then she realized how bad my nails looked since she painted over and obviously shellac won't just come off easily and she used her tools from the manicure and tried to cut the dried gel off my skin which was painful and filing my skin. my cuticle area started bleeding. All of my fingers have cuts!! I had an awful experience. I'm never recommending this place or coming back!!!! It is very painful folding laundry and even showering. Bright, sparkling, new and beautiful space (esp. for Aurora) and great massage chairs - not the run down brown chairs seen most places. The owner is friendly and interacts with guests. I had to wait 20-30 min. for what I thought was an appointment. Turns out, my appointment was booked for the next day when I clearly said, "today" on the phone. The owner tried to placate me by telling me as soon as the tech was done with a little pedicure, I was next. The lady he referred to got a deluxe pedicure and wasn't done in just a few minutes. A different tech took me and the lady was still on her pedicure. They need another tech on Saturdays. Everyone who came in after me had to wait. I didn't ger the attention to detail I expected. The pedicure is fine. The manicure was beautiful until it smudged. The owner thought my nails were dry and thought I was okay to leave. As soon as I walked out, I noticed smudged nails. No frills nail salon--walked in today due to the advertised winter special ($10 mani), picked out a lovely neutral colour (all OPI polishes... a plus in my book!), and had an overall good experience. The owner, Cindy, helped me today: she soaked my nails in warm soapy water, cleaned up my cuticles, and gave me a surprisingly strong arm/hand massage before doing my nails. After I washed my hands, she proceeded to put a base coat(s?) on my nails, expertly applied two coats of polish, and topped it off with a clear top coat... one by one by one, check, check, check. The ambiance isn't necessarily luxurious or spa-like, but it was nice to be able to come in sans appointment and get a no-nonsense manicure in less than half an hour. read more

I've had really great pedicures here as well as manicures, but the last time my sister and I went, we made appointments for pedicures. We arrived early and the owner was seeing to a walk-in who wanted a set of acrylics. She had her husband see to my sister and my pedicures. I sat with my feet soaking for over an hour before I was seen to, the water had become freezing cold by then. I called, the Laetrile me to come at 6:30pm. This newly remodeled spot is so nice! They did a great job of updating everything and the decor is welcoming and clean. I see Lee every two weeks for a shellac mani because he is so good at what he does. The pedicure massage chairs are new and super comfy. The entire staff are very friendly and welcoming. They use top of the line products here and the color choices are incredible! And now they have Loyalty Cards that give you $5.00 off after only four visits! I love this place! read more

I went in for a rebase and decided to get a new set but in trying to get the old acrylic off the lady tore my real nail off. Ouch and then put on the worst looking acrylic nails I have ever seen. If you're looking for a place that's going to woo you with fancy seats and lighting and possibly a glass of wine, this probably isn't the place for you. BUT, if you're looking for a place that does amazing work with great lasting quality for an insanely low price (especially for the quality of materials used) this IS the place for you. Cindy is an absolute doll and does and amazing job. Yes, you may have to wait even if you made an appointment, but that's because when Cindy's working on you you're it in her world. You might have to wait your turn ("GASP!"), but you'll get in and she's quick too. My nails (solar french) last me WEEKS and I do not treat them gingerly. I can even paint them if I feel like it and remove the polish and the pink and white below, as well as the "shiny" is still in tact even using pure acetone. The girls at work are constantly shocked at how great they look and especially how long they last. So, as long as you don't have a stick up your you-know-what I'd be shocked if you didn't love this place. read more

When I first moved here I tried several salons and was not happy each time until I found Fancy Nails. This is the only nail salon I go to. I love Cindy! Her personality is hilarious if you don't mind a sarcastic person. You have to make an apt since it is only her and her husband. He usually does your feet and Cindy does your hands. She is great with kids as well. I have gone to another salon where they were mean to my 5 year old when she smudged her nail even after sitting completely still for 30 mins. Great place to get a quick and cheap manicure! At first glance, this place looks extremely run down and old. But once you sit down and get started, it is actually an excellent experience. Their massage chairs were the best I've ever sat in, and the pedicure was long and luxurious. They spent a lot of time and effort on my feet which felt great and has lasted me a month and counting (the leg massage was great!) I got a French manicure and it lasted me 3 weeks without a single chip! All the nail polishes were clearly new and OPI brand which is hard to come by! There was no smell of acetone, which is also hard to come by. And the best part was that the nail techs didn't chatter and gossip with each other at all!! Aside from the run down decor and the fact that you can hear the music coming from McCabes next door, it was a really great experience and a very long lasting mani/pedi! I came in on a weeknight for a mani/pedi without having an appointment. The woman was busy with a customer and asked if I could come back in 30 minutes, so I made a quick trip to the grocery store and then came back as she has requested. I still had to wait another 10-15 minutes and then when the woman started on my nails, she kept switching between me and the other customer she was working on. Then, when she started trimming my cuticles, she was jabbing at them pretty fiercely until she ended up stabbing my finger with the cuticle clippers and making me bleed three times on two different fingers. At that point, I was ready to get up and walk out, but she apologized and I ended up staying. After the manicure was finally over, I went over to get the pedicure done by the man. He did a great and thorough job and I was happy with his work. I would probably only give one star if it weren't for the pedicure, which was much better than the manicure. Both the pedicure and manicure looked good afterwards (except for the scabs on my fingers that resulted from being stabbed by the cuticle cutters). read more
