As a girl who loves to secondhand and vintage shop, getting them altered makes the biggest difference. On my first trip here about a year ago I brought in a few items and left with a perfectly fitting pair of linen trousers (second hand find that were a little too big) and another pair of pants that also needed to be taken in. It was perfect! On this last visit I brought in a few items that needed tweaks and I worked with Jimmy. He helped me bring all 3 pieces to life and I can't wait to pick them up. I love that they don't pressure you to go through with an alteration if it's not what you imagined or maybe expensive. The space is also beautiful and calm and here's plenty of room to move around. Highly recommend!

I've been here before, back in February 2026 to have a bridesmaid dress altered and they did a…read morewonderful job, so I didn't hesitate to return. Unfortunately, my experience this time was completely different. I brought in a simple double layered dress that only needed to be hemmed and was quoted $140, more than the dress itself! I was told that because it had two layers, it was essentially like "hemming two dresses." At $70 a layer, I guess every layer counts. I then asked about simply taking in the waist of a pair of jeans. I was initially quoted $25, but after looking at them again, I was told there was suddenly "a lot more work" involved and that I had been quoted incorrectly. At that point, I took both items and left. I went to another alterations shop and was quoted under $100 for BOTH the dress and the jeans. It seems management may have changed since my last visit, which is unfortunate because I was previously very happy with their work. Hopefully the pricing doesn't continue in this direction, because $140 to hem a simple dress is pretty hard to justify.

I have been coming here for over 5 years and have had many bridesmaid dresses altered here,…read moreincluding double-lined dresses. Historically, I was charged around $85-$100 for this type of alteration, so I was extremely surprised by my experience today. I also want to mention that I have always loved the tailor here. She is incredibly precise, detailed, and fair priced. I have always been happy with her work, and she is a big reason I continued coming back over the years. The tailor I have always used was still working here, but it appears the business is now under new management. I was quoted $180 to hem a double-lined dress and $210 for a dress with three layers. That is an enormous increase from what I have paid for essentially the same service over the years. I politely declined and took my dresses to another dry cleaner up the street (still in Hoboken). They charged me $85 for the double-lined dress and $125 for the three-layer dress - which was much more in line with what I have historically paid. I completely understand that prices increase and that businesses have to adjust their pricing, but these prices felt excessive, especially given my long history as a customer and the fact that I was able to get the exact same alterations done elsewhere for significantly less. Very disappointing to see such a drastic change at a place I had trusted for years. I will not be coming back.
